Disabled Teen With “Gift From The Lord” Wows Crowd With National Anthem

A teen with a devastating disability brought a crowd to tears with his incredible and emotional performance of the national anthem. Sawyer McCarthy, 13, was only three months old when his parents first noticed a concerning symptom. He didn’t squint when exposed to sunlight, which prompted them to take him to the doctor for tests. “When we went to the doctor, they did an MRI of his brain and told us he was missing the middle of his brain, the midline structure,” his mother, Brianna McCarthy, told WIS News 10. Ultimately, Sawyer was diagnosed with Optic Nerve Hypoplasia. According to the Cleveland Clinic, “Optic nerve hypoplasia is a condition that affects the development of your child’s optic nerve. It can also target the hormone-producing pituitary gland and the connection between the two halves of your brain. Severe cases may cause blindness or vision impairment.” However, this disability did not prevent Sawyer from following his talent and passion for music. “He has the ability to listen to something and harmonize beautifully with it,” Sawyer’s father, Patrick McCarthy, said. “I’m not sure if it’s because he’s blind and his hearing senses are heightened, but he picks up on things and learns them very quickly.” Teen With Disability Moves Crowd to Tears With Emotional Performace of The National Anthem Sawyer delivered a beautiful performance of the national anthem at a recent Minor League Baseball game in South Carolina. The entire crowd was silent as he began, taking in his clear and strong voice. Eventually, they began cheering as his voice picked up and wowed the audience. It’s no shock they were brought to tears by the 13-year-old’s talent. The crowd went absolutely wild by the end of the song.  “I love singing for people, and what can I say? Inspiring others maybe, yeah, to inspire others, and to make people smile,” Sawyer said. You can find the source of this story’s featured image here. Pharma giant Cencora says Americans' sensitive health information stolen in cyberattack

Cencora, a U.S. pharmaceutical company, has notified those affected by a data breach that their personal and sensitive medical information was stolen during a cyberattack, according to Tech Crunch.Letters were sent to the affected individuals earlier this week. In the letter, Cencora said data from its internal systems included patient names, date of birth, and their postal address. It also included sensitive information about their diagnosis and medications. 'We take the privacy and protection of the information entrusted to us very seriously.'The pharma juggernaut noted it had obtained patients' important information through partnerships with drug makers. These include patients who receive services from Abbvie, Acadia, Bayer, Novartis, and Regeneron, according to the report.Cencora has not yet released detailed information about the cyberattack, which reportedly started on February 21. The development was not made public until a week later, when the company filed a notice with government regulators about the situation.Tech Crunch reported that a company known as AmerisourceBergen until 2023 handled around 20% of all pharmaceuticals sold across the country."Cencora, Inc. and its Lash Group affiliate partner with pharmaceutical companies, pharmacies, and healthcare providers to facilitate access to prescribed therapies through drug distribution, free trial offers, co-pay coupons, patient support and services, and other services," a related data breach notification by Novartis read, according to Bleeping Computer."We take the privacy and protection of the information entrusted to us very seriously. Cencora is writing to let you know about an event that involved your personal information that Cencora maintains in connection with its patient support programs on behalf of Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation."Concora spokesperson Mike Iorfino did not say if the company knew specifically how many individuals were affected by the data breach. It is also not known how many people have been notified by the company. The company noted that there is currently no evidence that the information obtained in the hack has been released to the internet or that it has been used for fraudulent purposes, per reports. However, there is still an elevated risk to exposed individuals. Cencora is now offering recipients of the letter two years of free identity protection and credit monitoring services through Experian, which they are able to accept until August 30, 2024.The company has not revealed how much it spends on cybersecurity.Like Blaze News? 'Aladdin' director John Musker rips Disney for focusing too much on political messaging instead of entertaining

'Aladdin' director John Musker rips Disney for focusing too much on political messaging instead of entertaining

Disney Filmmaker John Musker recently went after The Walt Disney Company for prioritizing political messaging amid the ongoing culture wars instead of putting the focus on entertainment, according to Fox News Digital.Musker has become a legendary name for directing some of the studio's most popular films over the past few decades. He directed "The Little Mermaid," "Moana," and "Aladdin."'The classic Disney films didn’t start out trying to have a message. They wanted you to get involved in the characters and the story and the world.'In a recent interview, he noted that the company needed to stay away from woke messaging in its films and prioritize the characters and stories."I think they need to do a course correction a bit in terms of putting the message secondary, behind entertainment and compelling story and engaging characters," Musker said during an interview with Spanish outlet El Pais.Musker also co-directed 2009's "The Princess and Frog," which was criticized for being woke. However, the director said that the political messaging was not his focus in the making of the film."We weren’t trying to be woke, although I understand the criticism," Musker added."The classic Disney films didn’t start out trying to have a message. They wanted you to get involved in the characters and the story and the world, and I think that’s still the heart of it," the filmmaker added. "You don’t have to exclude agendas, but you have to first create characters who you sympathize with and who are compelling."World of Reel reported that Musker's suggestion falls in line with what Disney CEO Bob Iger said would be happening within the company. He said that the company would focus more on entertaining rather than expressing political messages.Disney has experienced a slew of box office disappointments, including the 2022 film "Lightyear," which focused on pro-LGBTQ messaging rather than the origin story of Buzz Lightyear from "Toy Story." The company has since laid off many employees, and they have lost 2.4 million subscribers from its Disney+ streaming platform. At the time, Pixar's CCO Peter Docter did not mention that "Lightyear" flopped because of political messaging, but because the company asked too much of the audience. “We’ve done a lot of soul-searching about that because we all love the movie. We love the characters and the premise,” Docter told The Wrap. “I think probably what we’ve ended on in terms of what went wrong is that we asked too much of the audience. When they hear Buzz, they’re like, ‘Great, where’s Mr. Potato Head and Woody and Rex?’ And then we drop them into this science fiction film that they’re like, ‘What?'”Like Blaze News?
