Suri Cruise Seen Looking Upset After Allegedly Giving Up Tom’s Last Name
Tom Cruise may be everyone’s favorite Hollywood actor, but he is not at all in the good graces of his daughter, Suri Cruise, who recently dropped his last name due to “childhood hurt.” After years of estrangement from her father, Suri likely got fed up after his absence from her 18th birthday weeks ago.
Following the sad update, Suri was spotted walking to a restaurant with her mother, Katie Holmes, who looked chic in high-waisted jeans, a turtleneck top, and black boots. Suri, on the other hand, looked rather melancholy as she strolled the street in a pair of loose, low-rise pants and a white cropped graphic tee.

A source disclosed that Suri “does not know her father anymore, and she has not spent time with him in a decade.” While Suri or Katie do not prove this, the father and daughter have not been seen publicly together within the same period. Tom keeps to his financial responsibilities by providing for Suri, but his presence in her life is present.

Tom and Katie were married for five years after a twelve-year relationship, and she allegedly served him divorce papers out of the blue to “protect” their child. There have been speculations that Tom has refused to co-parent beyond material provision due to disagreements over his religious beliefs. His relationship with ex-wife Nicole Kidman was also strained by his devotion to the church of Scientology, indoctrinating their kids— Connor and Isabella, along the line.

There was no official statement from Suri or her mother about doing away with the “Cruise” name. However, fans noticed the change via a casting sheet for Broadway’s Head Over Heels, where she went by “Suri Noelle.” Noelle is Katie’s middle name, so it is likely Suri will choose that going forward.

The teenager is following her parents’ path in the acting industry and seeks to make a name for herself regardless of her background. She debuted in her high school’s production of The Addams Family: A New Musical, where she played Morticia Addams. Katie has been her biggest cheerleader, staying true to her “biggest goal” to “nurture her into her individuality, to make sure she is 100 percent herself and strong, confident and able.”
