Kristin Cavallari, The Montana Boyz, And Advice We Don’t Need

There is a lot of terrible advice in the world. It’s all over TikTok, Instagram, and social media in general. Much of this terrible advice comes from people who are far from having their lives together themselves, but what is even more damaging is when the advice comes from an inconsistent source and societal trends, from someone just following whatever people are doing on TikTok. Nine times out of 10, that kind of advice is just not ever going to be good. Jason Davis/Getty Images Enter: Kristin Cavallari. Kristin is an internet personality who got her start on “Laguna Beach” back in the early 2000s. Now, she has a podcast called “Let’s Be Honest,” and over the years, she’s gained a following of millions. She is a divorced mom of three and recently started dating a 24-year-old TikToker who seems to have made all the common sense she might have had fly right out the window. So why is this worth calling attention to? Because she is sharing this lack of common sense with her 4.8 million primarily young female fans.  Screenshot: Instagram. The story publicly began on March 28 when she posted a picture with Mark Estes on her Instgram with the caption “Him ?”. Mark is a member of the Montana Boyz (@montana.boyz) — emphasis on boyz with a “z” — a TikTok group who makes Western-ish thirst trap videos. Before he started dating Kristin, no one had ever even seen his face before because he always wore his hat pulled way down over his eyes. (Seriously, I did not know what this man looked like.) Screenshot: Instagram They had some videos that went viral, all of which show them walking to the camera in a line while they lip sync, like the one they did before the CMT Awards. They lip sync, they walk around, and they just exist as attractive 20-something-year-old guys. They have millions upon millions of views, so plenty of girls are loving this content — but these guys also get absolutely roasted online, which I’m sure they know because it is objectively hysterical that this is how they have gotten famous.  Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for CMT Mark and Kristin hit it off and started “hanging out” earlier this year. Around that time, Kristin came out with a dating hot take on her podcast telling her listeners that it does not matter when you sleep with a man: I don’t think it matters. It doesn’t matter if you sleep with him the first date or the 10th date. If there is chemistry and feelings there, it doesn’t matter. Ninety percent of couples who are in like the best relationships where they like found the one all slept together. First of all, Kristin is 37-years-old; she shouldn’t be “hanging out” with a guy. Second, “chemistry and feelings” will only get you so far. Obviously, it’s important that those exist in a relationship, but they should not be the foundation. Shared values and respect are what make for a long haul. She apparently used to care and was on a “make him wait” thing for the past few years, but then something or someone caused that mentality to just disappear. The majority of her followers were not enthused about any of this and the comments proved it, citing this as some of the “absolute worst advice” for young females. Screenshot: Instagram For Kristin’s 4.8 million followers, the majority of whom are young women, this is not the advice they need to be hearing. It’s not healthy — far from it. The comments on this clip continued, with some women laying down hard facts and others sharing thoughts on sleeping around, saying, “You’re absolutely damaging yourself if you sleep around.” That comment was definitely not in the minority. Call it soul ties, call it pair bonding, call it what you want, but whatever it is, it is real. That type of connection is rooted in our biology. WATCH: The Comments Section with Brett Cooper Screenshot: Instagram Screenshot: Instagram Of course, there were a few people who were shocked by these “backwards” comments, as they say, but they were the ones in the actual minority. I had to do some serious searching to find them. One commented they should be able to do whatever they want: Screenshot: Instagram Yet nobody is saying they can’t. In fact, none of the commenters said this wasn’t allowed or that hookup culture is illegal. It’s a free country. But what they were arguing in good faith is that this is unhealthy behavior and an unhealthy mindset. Plus, just because you can do something does not mean that you should do something. (Those are words worth living by.) And that’s not a difficult concept to grasp. That said, I have friends who have waited until marriage and have the greatest of marriages. I also have friends who slept together on the first date, are married, and are madly in love. But those personal anecdotes do not change the facts about the response that sex causes in our bodies and the real consequences and risks that come along with it. The fact is that there are risks to engaging in sex, all of which are critical to making informed decisions. Decisions should never be made because someone said “it doesn’t matter” or because “it’s empowering.” Those are subjective points. The objective, chemical facts prove different. After Kristin announced her and Mark’s relationship in March, the clip from January’s podcast episode likely started to make a little more sense to her fans: Kristin wanted to show Mark that she was a cool, chill girl. She could be fine with all of this. She must not have considered that you can be a chill girl and also set healthy boundaries and have some self-respect — which she especially should have done, being a mother of three. Then came the podcast episode where Kristin had the whole Montana Boyz group on her podcast.  Screenshot: Let’s Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari podcast. This episode was full of cringe-worthy, uncomfortable conversations, one of which centered around settling down. According to one of the boyz, people older than them have told them not to settle down, that they should wait. Though that is simply just the wrong way to look at a relationship, two of the three declared they definitely don’t want to settle down right now — but they aren’t sure about Mark, Kristin’s boyfriend. The Montana boy continues, saying they “definitely have some personal goals that we want to reach. So it’s kind of tough to do that when you’re locked down and you’re focusing on a relationship.” All this is said with Mark and Kristin sitting right next to each other. As if this saga needed any more help getting everyone’s attention, it gets better (or worse). Kristin asks, “But what if you met your dream girl?” Now, that is a conversation that should not be had on this podcast. It is one they should have, but together off camera. Mark is put under all kinds of pressure in this episode, which, arguably, he signed up for since he entered into this relationship. But that question — what if you met your dream girl? — is clearly a subtweet at her three-month-old relationship. She basically asked, “Is it me?” This clip was all over the place with people reacting and begging her to stop. It’s just all so uncomfortable, especially considering that she threw caution to the wind to look like the hot, chill, cool, older woman in order to land him in the first place. The comments ranged from calling out Kristin desperately wanting Mark to say he wants to settle down to the other guys secretly telling Kristin that she’s not Mark’s end game. Screenshot: Instagram Screenshot: Instagram And one mom had a brilliant and hilarious comparison: Screenshot: Instagram None of them should be giving advice, Kristin included. And just when it seemed the situation could not get any more cringe, it did. Mark has said he wants kids. That’s not the cringe part; this makes sense since he’s 24-years-old and does not have children yet. The cringe part is: Kristin is mulling it over. She is considering what having a child with Mark the Montana Boy would look like, especially since she already has three kids. So while he could not even make eye contact with Kristin on her podcast when she asked him about settling down if he met his dream girl, she’s considering having his child. She really just shouldn’t push it. We should all just say — her included — that she’s just having fun because that’s how we’re all viewing this. Obviously, Mark doesn’t have much to lose because he is 24-years-old. Kristin, however, is a mom. She has three children to consider (who she has already introduced to Mr. Montana, by the way). If she really does want more children, the clock is ticking. She needs to be serious and not waste time with him based on an infatuation period. And while this may seem like online, reality TV drama, there is a point: The way you choose a partner and approach relationships should be rooted in something other than infatuation. It could be rooted in your faith, a core set of values, or pure common sense, all of which will protect you and hold you accountable. But to publicly throw caution to the wind and common sense out the window because you want to hook up with someone to get their attention? In the end, that will never work out.

‘Shockingly Bad’: Critics Slam New Kate Middleton Portrait

A new portrait of Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, is causing a stir and getting mostly negative reactions online. The painting was commissioned by the British outlet Tatler and graces the cover of their new July issue. It was created by British-Zambian artist Hanna Uzor. The portrait depicts Catherine during her appearance at the first state banquet of King Charles III’s reign. “The July cover of the Princess of Wales is the latest in a series of portraits commissioned by Tatler. Each has heralded a new era within the Royal Family, celebrating the strength and dignity of those dedicating their life to public duty,” the magazine’s X post of the image said. Do they have a recurrent gesture?,” the artist said in a statement, per CNN.  “All my portraits are made up of layers of a personality, constructed from everything I can find about them,” Uzor added.   View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Tatler (@tatlermagazine) Online critics were not impressed with the final result, calling it terrible to the point of being disrespectful to the Princess of Wales. “This is dreadful – somehow, I’m not sure the artist is a fan of the Princess – it looks like a bad GCSE [high school] project,” one commenter on X wrote. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP “This looks nothing like the Princess of Wales. It’s so awful, it’s disrespectful,” another person echoed. A third commenter wrote, “This is shockingly bad. Was the intention to erase the Princess of Wales and replace her with a pretend person? The disrespect to the Princess shouldn’t be acceptable.” The new royal family portrait comes just after royal fans responded negatively to an official portrait of King Charles III, which was revealed earlier this month, as The Daily Wire previously reported. The 8.5 by 6.5-foot painting by British artist Jonathan Yeo included a bold red background. “It looks like he’s bathing in blood,” one popular Instagram comment said of the king’s portrait. “Looks like he’s going straight to hell,” another royal follower agreed.

NBC Is Using Animals To Push The LGBT Agenda. Here Are 5 Abhorrent Animal Behaviors Humans Shouldn’t Emulate

Caution: The following article contains graphic descriptions of disturbing animal-on-animal violence and sexual deviancy.  In an apparent response to the common argument that the LGBT spectrum of sexualities isn’t “natural,” NBC is showcasing the unorthodox sexual proclivities of the lower life forms in a stunning and brave new documentary titled “Queer Planet.” The documentary’s trailer, which was posted publicly on X, opens with a shot of a male lion sexually mounting another male, and clips of various presumably same-sex animals nuzzling each other are interspersed with interviews with expert scientists assuring you that “everything you were told as a kid is wrong,” “this is a queer planet,” and “it’s only in humans that we have such a stigma about it.” If you have the stomach for it, take a look at the full trailer below: “Queer Planet” will be released in June. The documentary by NBC is focused on “LGBTQI+ tolerance” among the animal kingdom… No, this is not satire. pic.twitter.com/sf9ES6bXuG — End Wokeness (@EndWokeness) May 16, 2024 “We’ve all heard of gay penguins, but this film really opened my eyes to the full spectrum of LGBTQ+ behaviors across the natural world,” narrator Andrew Rannells said in a press statement. “And what could be more natural than being who you are? I’m excited to be part of ‘Queer Planet,’ especially during Pride Month, and on Peacock, surely the most colorful and glamorous of all the streaming services.” The special’s official synopsis claims it’s an exploration of “the rich diversity of animal sexuality — from flamboyant flamingos to pansexual primates, sex-changing clownfish to multi-gendered mushrooms and everything in between. This documentary looks at extraordinary creatures, witnesses amazing behaviors, and introduces the scientists questioning the traditional concept of what’s natural when it comes to sex and gender.” Of course, there are numerous questions surrounding the findings of the documentary and whether homosexual behavior in the animal kingdom really is “natural,” but the implication of using animal behavior as a justification of similar human behavior may be even more insidious. Since NBC apparently wants you to believe that something is morally justifiable just because animals do it, here is a non-exhaustive list of some reprehensible things that, according to “Queer Planet’s” logic, should be permissible because they are widely practiced in the animal kingdom. Infanticide Infanticide within the animal kingdom is extremely common. It is most often practiced by males as part of their reproductive strategy. For example, when a male lion takes over an established pride, he will often kill any existing young in the group to extinguish the bloodline of the previous dominant male. The loss of the cubs also makes lionesses reenter heat more quickly, allowing the new male to reproduce and pass on his genes in his new pride. Male bears and other mammals such as dolphins and baboons have exhibited the same behavior. “Males committed infanticide more frequently in species where males and females lived together and a few males dominated as mates — but only remained at the top of the pack for brief periods of time. The practice was also associated with non-annual or seasonal reproduction cycles, meaning females could mate whenever. Through infanticide, males can eliminate the offspring of their competition and get the female back to full baby-making capacity faster,” Smithsonian Magazine noted. The Smithsonian also noted that mothers will also abandon offspring that are ill and may also kill the offspring of other females to cut down on competition if food is scarce. Cannibalism Cannibalism is also a common occurrence among animals when food is scarce. In cases of drought and famine, many carnivores will feed on the dead bodies of their own species, including their own young. Certain species of sharks give birth to live young instead of laying eggs like the vast majority of fish do. Those young developing in their mother’s womb are often conscious and are able to move about freely. These shark pups will eat each other while still inside their mother if her nutritious yolk is depleted. This form of cannibalism is so common in the sand tiger shark that a female usually only gives birth to two pups at a time because they have eaten all of their other siblings in the womb. Many female insects will cannibalize their mates soon after the act of reproduction in order to gain additional nutrients for their eggs. The female praying mantis will infamously devour her mate once they’ve coupled, usually starting with the head, in order to provide a boost of nutrients to her fertilized eggs. Similarly, black widow spiders often live up to their name by killing and eating much smaller males after they’ve been impregnated. Mammals like lions, macaques, and leopards have also been known to engage in cannibalism. Mothers will often cannibalize their dead young in order to recoup nutrients. Torture/Mutilation Violence akin to what we would consider torture has been observed in a select few animal species, mostly concentrated among those with a high degree of intelligence. Felines, dolphins, killer whales, and primates have all been observed toying with their prey before killing them. Many people who have owned cats have seen them play with small birds, rodents, or reptiles before finally killing them. Dolphins and killer whales often exhibit similar behavior with seals and fish. Chimps will often attack strategic points on an enemy’s body, most commonly the hands and genitals, to maim them before killing them. They’ve also been observed desecrating the dead bodies of adversaries. One notable instance saw a troop of chimps kill a former leader who had been ejected from the group. They then spent hours eating and mutilate his dead body. Rape Coerced sexual activity occurs on a fairly regular basis in the animal kingdom. Harassment and intimidation are common occurrences among males of dozens of species. “Rape is a normal reproductive strategy in mallards,” Moeliker, who also first observed necrophilic activity in mallards, told The Guardian in 2005. He observed that male ducks would often chase female ducks and force them to land in order to initiate sexual activity with them. Instances of sexual coercion by male grey seals in the North Sea were so violent that they resulted in the deaths of several female harbor seals, according to a paper published in 2020. Male dolphins off the coast of Australia work together to isolate a single female and then force copulation. Sexually coercive behavior has also been documented in chimpanzees and orangutans. It’s been theorized that female bonobos create alliances with each other to discourage sexual aggression from males. Necrophilia Several instances have been observed of animals attempting to mate with the corpses of their own species. Cases of both heterosexual and homosexual acts of necrophilia have been reported among ducks. Dutch scientist Kees Moeliker first observed necrophilic behavior in mallards in 1995. He saw a male mallard die after it flew directly into a window, and reported that another male attempted to mate with the corpse “continuously for almost 75 minutes.” In 2014, scientists in Japan reported that three male sand martin birds attempted to mate with the corpse of another male. A herpetologist witnessed two male white and black tegu lizards from Brazil try to mate with a dead female in 2013. Scientists set up a camera trap near the corpse of a female stump-tailed macaque (a type of monkey) in Thailand, and over three days of observation three different male macaques attempted to have intercourse with the dead female. Penguins Penguins have become one of the mascots of the LGBT animal movement, largely due to several high-profile instances of male penguins forming bonded pairs. A children’s book depicting the same-sex romance between two chinstrap penguins at the Central Park Zoo won multiple awards when it was released in 2005. However, these birds run the gamut on deviant sexual behavior. In 1912, a British naturalist who joined Robert Scott’s famous Terra Nova expedition to Antarctica described the “astonishing depravity” of the local Adélie penguins. Calling them “little knots of hooligans,” the naturalist observed instances of rape, necrophilia, infanticide, and abuse of chicks. He also noted instances of homosexuality. The preceding account may seem a little morbid, even brutal, but it illustrates the danger in justifying certain human behaviors by pointing to similar behavior in animals. Though it can often look idyllic in documentaries or during a casual stroll in a park, morality is often absent in the natural world, and humans’ ability to discern it is one our primary advantages over animals.
