BUYER BEWARE: Cancer screening is ‘diagnosing cancer that isn’t cancer’

Around the country, Americans have begun waking up to the possibility that the health care system is more interested in your wallet than it is in your cure. Which is why extra caution should be taken when it comes to earth-shattering diagnoses like cancer. “The ridiculous cancer screening programs that are designed to bring in customers to medical centers are diagnosing cancer that isn’t cancer,” Dr. Pam Popper, an internationally recognized expert on nutrition, medicine, and health and the founder and executive director of Wellness Forum Health tells Liz Wheeler of the “The Liz Wheeler Show.” “In other words, ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) is not cancer, it’s a risk factor for breast cancer,” she continues. “A lot of people are being treated for cancer because they have risk factors, which is great for the industry, not so great for the patient.” A major factor in preventing and/or curing cancer is diet, which conventional cancer doctors often don’t focus on. “When you think about it, an average adult puts a ton of food through their body every year,” Popper says. “How could you say that doesn’t have an effect?” “You’re blowing my mind here,” Wheeler responds, adding, “this idea that there are people who are told by their doctors after testing that they have cancer and you say, ‘Well no, actually, that’s a risk factor for cancer but not actually cancer.’” “How do these patients tell? I mean, we’re not trained as doctors, we don’t know what tests are run,” she adds. Popper believes that receiving a cancer diagnosis should be treated like any service, in that you should always investigate and get a second opinion. “Don’t do anything until you have a chance to calm down, think about it, and start investigating,” Popper explains. “The consumer has to take responsibility. I’m all about consumer empowerment and consumer responsibility.” “Everybody thinks, 'Well, the government has to change. Somebody has to go fix this for me.' You have to start by fixing it for yourself. Then you start by helping other people around you,” she continues, noting that her philosophy on health has served her well. “I’m 68 years old. I weigh what I weighed when I graduated from high school,” Popper says. “I don’t take any drugs. There’s nothing wrong with me.”Want more from Liz Wheeler? To enjoy more of Liz’s based commentary, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

Republican candidate violently attacked while putting up campaign signs in Las Vegas in broad daylight: Report

A man running for state office in Nevada was reportedly violently attacked in broad daylight while putting up campaign signs about a week and a half ago.Around 4 p.m. on August 29, Stanley Vaughan braved the Las Vegas heat and walked about and put up campaign signs for himself and other candidates near the intersection of Pecos Road and Twain Avenue, about five miles east of the Las Vegas Strip.Vaughan believes that the suspect is homeless, reporting that he had a disheveled appearance and that he likely hadn't bathed in days.Vaughan then turned to affix a sign to a chain-link fence when suddenly a man wielding a knife approached him and demanded his wallet, he claimed."I‘m so focused on getting the cable ties through and getting them through the fence, I wasn’t paying attention to pedestrians and stuff coming through here," Vaughan recalled to KVVU. "I had my back turned. I turned around, [and he] caught me by surprise." Vaughan — an Army veteran, martial arts enthusiast, and the security and police liaison for his homeowners' association — said he responded "instinctively" by kicking the would-be mugger. At that point, the suspect "ran away," Vaughan said.Unfortunately, that was not the end of the matter. It turns out that the suspect managed to slice him in the forearm with the knife."I jumped into the car, and then I realized I was bleeding," Vaughan said.Vaughan then drove home, where his wife, a nurse, attended to his injury. His forearm was still wrapped in bandages when he spoke with KVVU.Vaughan believes that the suspect is homeless, reporting that he had a disheveled appearance and that he likely hadn't bathed in days. Vaughan told KVVU he will no longer be going out by himself to put campaign signs up.Police are treating the attack as an isolated incident. Detectives have also apparently identified a suspect, as KVVU reported that they "have not tied the perpetrator to any crimes in the area." So far, no names have been released.Vaughan, 67, is running as a Republican for the Nevada Assembly seat for District 20. His opponent, incumbent state Assemblyman David Orentlicher (D), condemned the attack."I am very concerned and saddened to hear about the attack on Mr. Vaughan, and I wish him a speedy recovery. We all should be able to feel safe in our communities, and I am committed to continuing our work to reduce crime across Nevada. I hope the perpetrators are held accountable for their actions," Orentlicher said in a statement to KVVU.Orentlicher — a Democrat, a UNLV law professor, a medical doctor, and a self-described expert "in medical ethics" — previously received the Distinguished Legislative Service Award from Planned Parenthood for "his 'strong and tenacious support' of the Planned Parenthood mission," his website says.Like Blaze News? Space Force AI chatbot now capable of operating missile defense systems and satellites for soldiers

An artificial intelligence-backed "Battle Buddy" would process data and military doctrine and streamline the relay of communications when soldiers use it.The product, EdgeRunner AI, is essentially a chatbot that will work with soldiers (or guardians for the Space Force) to provide information during missions or help the soldier more efficiently complete a task individually.Interestingly, the EdgeRunner AI is not connected to a network and operates natively like a computer program. This is an obvious security benefit when working within a foreign theater of war.'The AI Battle Buddy can significantly enhance the capabilities of space guardians by improving satellite control.'The technology's real power seems to come from its application with Space Force; the company boasts about the military branch's support on its website.CEO Tyler Saltsman told Blaze News that his technology can significantly enhance satellite control and data interpretation for the Space Force."In space combat, satellites play crucial roles in everything from surveillance to communication. The AI Battle Buddy can significantly enhance the capabilities of space guardians by improving satellite control and data interpretation," Saltsman said. The CEO added that the AI could help determine the risk related to missile defense and intelligence using predictive insights. Screenshot via video provided to Blaze News by Ky Truong / EdgeRunnerOn the ground, the AI can provide a plethora of data to soldiers or intelligence officers while operating offline. Saltsman explained that the technology enables voice-operated interfaces that interact with vehicles and/or weaponry to optimize the equipment for the user. This would essentially integrate, possibly dangerously, AI with the entire functioning apparatus of on-the-ground military operations.EdgeRunner shared a video with Blaze News that showed some of the program's capabilities in terms of information-gathering through satellites. These capabilities included:Gathering data from satellite orbitsWeighing satellite capabilities and determining their usage, i.e., transmission powerDetermining limitations based on time of day (solar charging limitations)Determining schedules for when to relay data to ground stations or targetsMissile targeting and risk assessment are used within militaries such as Israel's, which uses AI-targeting and similar programming to aggregate intelligence data, NPR reported.Saltsman said that another technology is being researched that would detect weaponry, improvised explosive devices, and "other threats.""These models are being enhanced to understand contextual information, such as recognizing and responding to specific motions. For example, a drone could be directed to follow a motion command. This represents the next level of intelligent vision systems we are working on."The broader vision, as the CEO put it, is to integrate AI into the firmware of military systems and hardware. This would ensure EdgeRunner's place in the future of the U.S. military and possibly its allies.Like Blaze News?
