The Biden campaign released an ad last week that personally attacks Supreme Court justices for being beholden to former President Donald Trump. The ad takes particular aim at the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling earlier this month that a U.S. president cannot be prosecuted for acts that were within his constitutional powers as president. “Nearly 250 years ago, America was founded in defiance of a king under the belief that no one is above the law, not even the president — until now,” the Biden ad’s narrator says. The spot refers to the high court as the “Trump Supreme Court” and implies that the justices ignored the law and ruled as Trump wanted them to. “The same Trump Supreme Court that overturned Roe v. Wade ruled that the president can ignore the law even to commit a crime because Donald Trump asked them to,” the ad’s narrator says. “He’s already led an insurrection and threatened to be a dictator on day one. Donald Trump can never hold this office again.” President Joe Biden, 81, has frequently attacked the Supreme Court with its 6-3 conservative majority, especially as the campaign season has heated up. “I dissent,” Biden said Monday evening in response, referring to the court’s decision on presidential immunity. Biden has also been particularly focused on the Supreme Court’s 2022 decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, claiming the Dobbs decision overturned a constitutional right for the first time in the history of the court. Biden’s attacks on the court are unprecedented, experts say. Legal scholar Jonathan Turley said the idea that Biden is “really the symbol of constitutional fealty is really alarming.” Attorney Mark Paoletta, a personal friend of Justice Clarence Thomas who played a significant role in his confirmation, called the attacks on the court “dangerous.” “Obama criticized a single case in his State of the Union, which is bad enough, but Biden does a nationwide primetime address to trash the court on immunity… though he did not have the courage or perhaps the mental acuity to take any questions,” Paoletta said. In 2010, then-President Barack Obama lashed out at the court’s decision in the Citizens United case, which allowed corporations and other groups to spend independently on political campaigns. The court “reversed a century of law that I believe will open the floodgates for special interests — including foreign corporations — to spend without limit in our elections,” Obama said during his State of the Union speech that year. Republicans at the time criticized Obama’s willingness to attack the court.

Michigan Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer — who has been floated as a potential replacement candidate if President Joe Biden drops out of the race — defended her party’s presumptive nominee in a USA Today interview published on Tuesday. In the interview which focused on the release of her book, titled “True Gretch,” Whitmer came to the defense of the 81-year-old Biden, telling USA Today that the president keeps a “really aggressive calendar and he’s showing up.” The Michigan governor said Biden’s poor debate performance against former President Donald Trump was “a 90-minute snapshot of someone who has been back and forth to Europe twice in one week.” “But a 90-minute snapshot of a person with high integrity who’s served his country for decades − no one’s as good as their best 90 minutes or as bad as their worst 90 minutes,” Whitmer said, using a line of argument similar to one Biden has used to explain his debate performance. “You should be judged by the service and what you’ve been able to get accomplished, and he’s showing up with the receipts.” “[A]s I said, I think that this is a 90-minute snapshot of someone who has been back and forth to Europe twice in one week. That’s a brutal calendar for a 52-year-old,” added Whitmer, who is 52. “And so I think about all the extraordinary things that people see, but don’t actually pause and say, wow, he actually keeps up this really aggressive calendar and he’s showing up, and certainly there’s that debate performance, and then there’ll be millions others where he’ll demonstrate the vigor and the capacity.” White House aides told Axios that they usually try to keep Biden on a schedule that begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m., saying the president is much more likely to have verbal lapses outside of those hours. Multiple sources also told The Wall Street Journal that, in June 2022, the president did not attend a meeting with world leaders in the early evening because he had to go to bed. Biden’s health and mental state have been questioned by Republicans and conservative media outlets since the beginning of his term, but after his disastrous showing at the debate last month, some Democrats and Left-leaning political pundits have expressed concern about Biden’s ability to run an effective campaign. Whitmer was the subject of some speculation about potential replacements for Biden atop the Democratic Party ticket, but she has repeatedly said that she remains committed to helping Biden win re-election. After the debate, Whitmer denied a POLITICO report that claimed she had told Democratic Party Chair Jen O’Malley Dillon that Michigan was now unwinnable for Biden. The Democratic governor addressed that report again in her interview with USA Today, saying, “Jen had reached out to me to touch base after the debate, and the nature of our conversation was me for a thousandth time reiterating Michigan’s just tough terrain.” “[T]he Biden campaign I think had a lot of high-level people reaching out to leaders across the country, and so I think it was just a routine call of the same nature that many of my colleagues fielded as well,” Whitmer added.

Pop singer Bebe Rexha berated a concertgoer for throwing things at her during a performance in Norway over the weekend.  The 34-year-old recording artist did not hold back after realizing that an audience member had launched an object at her.  “If you hit me with something on stage, I’ll take you for everything you’ve f***ing done. Do not f***ing play with me right now,” Rexha can be heard saying in a video. The clip that’s been circulating shows the singer and her security team trying to figure out who the culprit was. “Which one? Which one?” Rexha asked, addressing the crowd. “Point to the person. I want to see him.”  “Out. Get the f*** out. That’s it. It’s done for you,” the “I’m a Mess” singer said after finding the alleged offender. In 2023, Rexha was hit in the face with a cell phone during a concert in New York City.  As The Daily Wire previously reported, the NYPD arrested 27-year-old Nicolas Malvagna on assault and harassment charges following the incident. He reportedly said he was “trying to see if he could” hit the singer with his phone at the end of the show because he thought “it would be funny.” Rexha shared images to her social media shortly after the incident, including a photo of her bruised and swollen face. “I’m good,” the caption said. More recently, the recording artist threatened to “take down” the music industry with information she claimed to have.  “I could bring down a BIG chunk of this industry. I AM frustrated. I Have been UNDERMINED. I’ve been so quiet for the longest time. I haven’t seen the signs even though people constantly are bringing them up and they have been SO OBVIOUS,” Rexha wrote on X last week. “And when I have spoken up I’ve been silence [sic] and PUNISHED by this industry,” she continued. “Things must change or I’m telling ALL of my truths. The good the bad and the ugly.”

Dr. Tom Pitts was interviewed by NBC News’ Tom Llamas, who asked, “What you’ve seen from the president over the last two years, what you saw at the debate, the last few interviews, the way he speaks, the way he maybe walks, have you noticed anything that gives you a red flag as a doctor?” “Oh yeah, I see him 20 times a day in clinic,” Pitts answered, indicating how common Biden’s symptoms were among his patients. “It’s ironic because he has just this classic features of neurodegeneration: word-finding difficulties — and that’s not just ‘Oh, I couldn’t find the right word’ — that’s from degeneration of the word retrieval area.” “He’s also overcome stuttering, though. I could have diagnosed him from across the mall.” “Shuffling gait, we call that ‘little steps,” he noted. “Loss of arm swing from the rigidity; when we walk we have a nice cadence, he doesn’t really swing his arms, and end-block turning, meaning he kind of pivots around his foot. If you said, ‘Hey, President Biden,” he wouldn’t go like this,” he said, swiftly turning to look behind him. When Llamas protested that Parkinson’s was difficult to diagnose, Pitts countered, “It’s one of the easier movement disorders to diagnose. I’m a Democrat… This guy is not a hard case. … once you start manifesting the hallmark motor symptoms, slow movement, rigidity, masked facies, hypophonia, if a med student did not pick Parkinson’s on the test, they’d be remediated.” “His motor symptoms are degenerating,” Pitts said bluntly. “He has Parkinsonisms. That is a fact. He has degeneration of the brain. Show me the MRI. Show me he doesn’t. Put your money where your mouth is. He definitely has it.”
