An eyewitness talks about her earlier encounter with the 'hairy guy' and the havoc it later caused in a Detroit‚ Michigan suburb.I received a telephone call from a woman whom I will refer to as 'AY.' When AY was growing up in the 1970s‚ she would spend a lot of her time with her aunt who lived in the northeast suburbs of Detroit. The neighborhood had many acres of woodland‚ as well as old dilapidated properties that were covered in vegetation.A few hundred yards behind her aunt's home were old abandoned houses that attracted the attention of many of the kids in the neighborhood. The kids would talk about the 'hairy guy' who spent a lot of time in one of the large abandoned buildings. AY was curious so she accompanied some of the kids into the woods. Sure enough‚ as they stood near the house‚ they would occasionally see the 'hairy guy' look out of the large broken window on the first floor. They were scared to go into the house and investigate‚ but they were also fascinated by the 'hairy guy.'AY described the face as that of a "caveman with a wide flat nose." The hair was black and stringy. There had been talk in the area for many years of a huge hairy creature that would be seen roaming the neighborhood at night‚ but nobody ever seemed to get a good look at this thing.In the winter of 2016‚ AY was living in her aunt's old house‚ which she moved into after her aunt passed. She was returning home from work when she noticed that several people were gathered around what appeared to be a multi-car accident at the end of the street. There was a lot of ice and snow on the road‚ so she figured that may have been the reason for the accident. But as she looked closer‚ the first thing she noticed was that one of the cars was literally upside-down and teetering on the heavy branches of a large oak tree! Another car looked like it had been tossed into the adjacent bushes.She walked over to the scene and listened to one of the drivers (her neighbor) attempt to explain to the police officer that this "big hairy man walked out in front of me. I scared it and it got really mad. I jumped out of the car and ran into the house!" As she watched from the window of her house‚ the hairy creature picked up the small car and tossed it into the oak tree. Then it pushed a parked car into a yew bush and then flipped it on its side! The police seemed to think the woman was either impaired or crazy‚ but AY had thought back to the 'hairy guy' in the woods.As she walked back to her house‚ she soon noticed a trail of huge footprints in the snow along the side leading to the woods in the back. She took a few photos of the tracks‚ but she didn't say anything to anyone other than her nephew who told AY that it was a Bigfoot. AY is positive that is was the same creature she saw when she was a girl. Her nephew has been setting trail cams for the past 3 years‚ but he has been unable to capture any photographic evidence. A visitor to the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument is sleeping nearby in his van at night. He starts to hear horses‚ gunshots‚ and men‚ as if the battle once again occurred.“Are you familiar with the Custer Battlefield in Montana? (Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument). Just to put things in perspective‚ I’m 65 years old now. This took place in the early 90s and I used to‚ I don’t do it so much anymore‚ I used to have a Dodge van and on vacation time I would always throw a futon in the back of it‚ a sleeping bag‚ my Coleman camping stuff and I’d hit the road for two or three weeks and go visit places. One trip I went back east‚ I’m from back east. I’m from Ohio. And I’ve been in Monterey now for the last 40 years. And I visited Civil War battlefields - Antietam‚ Gettysburg‚ Harpers Ferry and on one trip I went up to see Custer's Mountain up there in Montana‚ and where it is‚ it’s up there in the prairies and it’s surrounded by a lot of mountains. It is small. It’s on... the intersection of State 90 and US Route 212 which goes east and west. It’s a little east of Billings‚ Montana. And 212 starts at 90 and runs right behind Custer's Hill and goes to Spearfish‚ Sturgis‚ Deadwood‚ you know‚ that part of the country.Anyway‚ so I’ve been on the road for 4 or 5 days already on this trip and I’m tired and I need to take a shower or jump in a river‚ someplace. I get to the park at 8:00 o’clock at night. It’s already closed so I’m not going to go in and see the monument that night. I was also really hungry. Now down where this was at is this little general store that has a cafe in it. So I pulled in the parking lot right there and they were getting ready to close. It was this guy and his wife and the guy was a retired park ranger who used to take out tours of the monument and he knew it really well. And his wife was Native American and she lived there with her whole family for generations. And you know after the battle the Native Americans just didn’t go away. They all still live around there and the following generations.Anyway‚ so they make me something to eat. And I asked them if they happened to have a beer I could drink and they said no they said go up the road a couple miles to this little town called Crow Agency‚ buy a 12-pack‚ bring it back and we’ll help you drink it. So I did that. I went up there and got a 12-pack and I brought it back and for the next couple hours they told me the true story of Custer's battle and it was really riveting. Parts of the story you never heard of. It wasn’t like Errol Flynn dying on the hill like in the movies‚ it was a long‚ drawn-out battle‚ and it was multi-faceted. There were other parts of the battle. Other sections of the battle. Anyway‚ they were getting ready to close up. They had to go home. I asked them if I could camp out in their parking lot. They said no‚ I couldn't do that but there is a little access road off Route 212 about a mile down the road and it’s a dirt road and due to maintenance of the park‚ you can pull into that spot‚ and nobody will bother you. I said‚ 'That’s great.'I went down the road. I found the spot‚ backed into it‚ and turned off the van. It was dark‚ starry and it was quiet and it was just out here in the prairies. It wasn’t eerie at all. It was just neat‚ right‚ and it was dark and it was starry. So I rolled back into my sleeping bag and I went to sleep and I was out like a light. So it must have been a couple hours later‚ I’m sleeping‚ I guess I'm sleeping. Maybe I’m dreaming. I’m hearing this noise; back of my mind – small‚ ethereal. I hear men shouting. I'm hearing horses. I'm hearing gunshots. I’m laying there thinking I gotta be dreaming this. You know how you’re in REM sleep‚ you can’t move‚ right? And it comes and it's going and it’s fading and it's coming back. And it's getting louder. Now I’m waking up and I’m hearing this. You know how you wake up to a bad dream and you go‚ 'Oh my god‚ that was a bad dream' and it goes away? This didn’t go away! It's getting louder. I’m hearing this. I’m looking at my hands. I’m awake. I’m hearing this. What is this?I throw open the side doors of the van. I jump out and there’s nothing. There’s nothing. It’s dark. It’s starry and a little cool and it’s still going on... horses and gunshots and men. I’m hearing this. Then it just started fading away. And then it was gone. The whole episode probably lasted three minutes. The whole rest of the night‚ I crawled back in the van. I sat there wrapped in my sleeping bag completely spooked. A bizarre alien encounter. An experiencer recalls a craft landing near his home and observes a shadow being and a little girl exit. What happens next is terrifying and profound!The following account was forwarded to me by my friends Kyle &; Cam at Expanded Perspectives:"February 25th 2016‚ It was a normal day and the sun was going down. I was home one night‚ and both my mother and stepfather were home too. I assumed they were asleep. I let the dog in the backyard. I noticed it was a little warmer than usual out. Also‚ it was a pretty clear sky‚ so I went out back to stargaze. While I was outside I felt something in the air. Some sort of static buzz‚ I felt it in my stomach and it felt like my bones were vibrating. I followed the feeling and looked over the fence to see where it was coming from. I couldn’t believe my eyes‚ it was a triangular UFO craft landing on the street in front of my house. I couldn’t tell if the craft had legs or not. It had orange‚ purple‚ blue‚ green‚ red‚ and white lights on it.I remember thinking that it was weird nobody on my street was seeing it. I saw a door open on the craft that formed a ramp that touched the street. Baffled and babbling I went inside and as I rushed to the kitchen sink I said to myself‚ “It’s not real you’re just crazy. It’s not real you’re just crazy.”. I washed my face with some cold water and looked out of the window above the kitchen sink. I saw a little girl in an old-school pink dress with blond hair. I estimated her age at about 5 to 7 years old and she was holding the hand of a shadow person leaving the craft with her. I couldn’t see any details of the silhouette she was holding the hand off or inside the craft due to the bright white light. I thought it was weird how I could see the details of the girl but not the other thing. As I saw this‚ I heard a little girl's voice say “ Luke! Come with me! Daddy! It’s so good to see you Daddy! Don’t you want to come with me?” But it was said inside my mind. I went from baffled and babbling to terrified and panicked to the highest degree! I left the kitchen‚ ran slash‚ and stumbled into the living room. The voice of the little girl died down. I began wondering if I was having a nightmare. I looked at the time‚ it was 10:33. I then thought to myself‚ “If I was dreaming‚ how could I possibly know the time?”I felt an approaching presence.I slowly turned around and saw a silhouette of the shadow-type man at the front door. If you could call that thing a man. I could see it through the foggy glass of the front door that still had Valentine’s Day decorations on it. It had long spidery fingers that it deliberately flaunted. As if it knew what I was seeing through the mind. It began to laugh but not out loud‚ in my head. As it did I saw its mouth open and close like when a cartoon character laughs. I was shaking and trembling. I immediately tried to plan a route to my mom’s room but I decided on a shortcut that would lead me through the fireplace to the left of me and into my mom and stepdad’s room. I ran to the double-sided fireplace. And as I started crawling on my hands and knees I heard it tell me “You won’t escape‚ we’ve taken you many times before and there is nothing you can do.” I looked at my ash-covered arms as I tried to continue to crawl through the fireplace. I looked into my mom’s room. My mother and stepfather were both lying in bed on their backs but with their heads facing me. Their eyes were screaming. It was like they both were having sleep paralysis. The dark voice said‚ “They can’t help you‚ they are frozen.”Then I heard the buzzing in the air turn into rumbling and I heard a chant that sounded like the chant of a dead language‚ “Zim Ma Bu Ea it Er.” The chant was very repetitive‚ and the same syllables were chanted over and over. As the rumble intensified a white light was washing over everything. I tried to move but as It grew stronger‚ I grew weaker. It became so loud and so bright I was blind and deaf‚ overloaded by too much light and too much sound. Everything went white. I woke up in what seemed like a half-second later. Face down and tongue out on my bed‚ shoes on and fully clothed. My boots were on my pillow‚ almost as if whoever took me didn’t know that it was for my head so they placed me on my bed backwards and face down. I sat up in shock. I ran into the bathroom to check on myself in the mirror. I opened my mouth and saw that my tongue was cracked‚ dehydrated‚ and dry. It was like a dead man’s decaying tongue. I could peel pieces of skin off it‚ it was so dry. I washed my mouth with water until it was hydrated enough for me to talk. I remember‚ sitting there in front of the mirror for a second‚ thinking about what happened. I remember thinking how do I explain something like this. I broke down and began crying hysterically.What made it worse was if that little girl was my daughter‚ would I ever see her again? Would I ever get to know her? Is she safe? Is she okay? I don’t even know her name. How do I find closure in knowing a daughter I never knew I had is out there without me‚ and with whatever took me. How do I move on from knowing that I’ll never get to see her grow up? How do I cope knowing I can’t reach her‚ and I can’t help her? I practically fell downstairs to tell my mom and stepdad what happened.I knocked on their door and my stepdad answered. I was babbling‚ shaking‚ and crying the story out of my mouth. But it made no difference because my stepdad said “Last night? I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He closed the door. A teen boy encounters a giant bat-shaped man in his bedroom. During the 2nd encounter‚ the being tells the boy that he is his real father. His mother refused to confirm or deny the claim.I received the following account:"I grew up in the Finger Lakes Region of New York. I had an encounter when I was 13 years old while lying in my bed and by my window. The window suddenly opened and this terrifying creature crawled in. I immediately hid under my blanket‚ held my breath‚ and urinated on the bed because I was so afraid.I slowly looked over the blanket and saw this giant bat-shaped man with claws on each foot. He had large black-membraned wings wrapped around him. The head was all black and it was shiny‚ almost illuminated with an aura around it. I quickly went under my covers and stayed there.Nothing happened‚ I didn't hear anything. I immediately told my mother how sorry I was for the bed and she insisted that it was my imagination. She did place a night light near my bed.A few nights later‚ I walked into my bedroom after visiting the bathroom. I walked into the room and the same giant bat-shaped man was standing on my bed. I tried to scream but couldn't utter a word. He hopped off the bed‚ bent down‚ and looked at me directly into my eyes. I heard a voice‚ but it was only in my head. It was a male voice that said‚ "Don't fear me. I am your father." I had never met my father. He had died before I was born.I must have passed out because I woke up in the morning‚ lying on the bedroom floor. I got up and ran to my mother's bedroom. She wasn't there. I was scared. Did the bat-shaped man take her? She eventually came home about 30 minutes later‚ after going to the grocery store.I told her what had happened the night before. She looked shocked but didn't say a word. I asked if the bat-shaped man was my father. She still would not give me an answer. In fact‚ she never said anything else about it.My mother passed away when I was 16 years old. She committed suicide. I never got an answer to my question. I'm 43 now with my own family. The White House has remained quiet since Raul Ortiz’s comment that he didn’t talk with either President Joe Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris while serving as chief of the U.S. Border Patrol.   “I’ve never had one conversation with the president‚ or the vice president for that matter‚” Ortiz said during an interview on CBS News’ “60 Minutes” that aired Sunday. “I was the chief of the Border Patrol; I commanded 21‚000 people. That’s a problem.” Ortiz served as chief of Border Patrol for two years of the Biden administration before retiring in the summer of 2023.  "I've never had one conversation with the president or the vice president for that matter… That's a problem‚” says Raul Ortiz‚ the U.S. Border Patrol chief under President Biden until he retired last year. pic.twitter.com/bWoZkFbnVc— 60 Minutes (@60Minutes) March 4‚ 2024 The White House didn’t respond to The Daily Signal’s request for comment and has yet to issue a public statement in response to Ortiz’s remarks on “60 Minutes.”  “We need to make sure that Central America‚ South America‚ Mexico‚ that those regions understand that if you pay a smuggler and you cross in between the ports of entry‚ and you do not have a legitimate claim to some sort of asylum benefit‚ you’re going to be sent back‚” Ortiz went on to say on the program.   When asked if he believes that the White House has sent “mixed messages to migrants‚” Ortiz replied: “Yeah‚ most definitely.”   On his first day in office Jan. 20‚ 2021‚ Biden stopped construction of the Trump administration’s wall at the southern border‚ signed an executive order “revoking a Trump Executive Order that directed harsh and extreme immigration enforcement‚” and strategically undid many of the Trump administration’s other border security policies.   During the “60 Minutes” interview‚ Ortiz also seemed to criticize Texas Gov. Greg Abbott‚ a Republican‚ for playing politics with the border crisis.   “The National Guardsmen‚ even to some degree the Border Patrol agents‚ have become pawns in this political game between the two sides‚” Ortiz said‚ referring to the fight over securing the border between Texas authorities and the federal government.   The two sides have filed multiple lawsuits over border and immigration policies. In January‚ the tension between Biden and Abbott thickened when the Texas National Guard assumed control of Shelby Park in Eagle Pass‚ Texas.   The shallow water of a narrow stretch of the Rio Grande on the edge of Shelby Park had made the site an appealing crossing point. The Border Patrol used the wide-open space of the park as a holding location for illegal aliens after they crossed the river from Mexico. The National Guard has built a makeshift wall on the edge of Shelby Park using shipping containers‚ razor wire‚ and concertina wire‚ and is preventing the Border Patrol from using the space as a processing site for illegal aliens.  Border and immigration issues have risen to the No. 1 issue of concern for Americans ahead of the presidential primaries in 15 states Tuesday in what is called Super Tuesday.   In a recent Pew Research Center poll‚ 77% of Americans said the situation at the border is either a “crisis” or a “major problem.” A Gallup poll last month shows that 28% of Americans say they believe that “immigration” is the most important problem facing the country‚ outpacing concerns about the “government” and the “economy in general.”    Since Biden became president‚ U.S. Customs and Border Protection has reported encountering more than 8.8 million illegal aliens on America’s borders and at ports of entry. Though teachers unions are well known for donating huge sums to Democratic candidates‚ a closer look at donor data reveals that the unions have spent the last six years quietly slipping millions of dollars into the pockets of Republican candidates for state legislatures in contested primary races. According to databases maintained by Open Secrets and Follow the Money‚ the largest teachers unions in 32 states have drastically increased donations to Republican state house‚ assembly‚ and senate candidates since 2018—donating up to $117‚700 to individual candidates in a Republican primary. In the 2012 and 2016 elections‚ only 12 states’ teachers unions donated to Republican primary candidates for state legislatures‚ and of those‚ only three states’ unions donated average sums of over $3‚000 per Republican candidate. Teachers unions are the largest donor to Democratic campaigns in the United States‚ with their unions and affiliated political action committees donating $55.3 million to Democratic primary and general candidates in congressional elections in 2022 and $66.5 million to Democratic primary and general congressional and presidential candidates in 2020. In 2022‚ teachers unions only donated $26‚050 total to Republican primary and general congressional candidates. But in state legislative races‚ as opposed to congressional ones‚ things are a bit different‚ and some Republicans started getting a lot more support from teachers unions starting around 2018—especially those running in districts that typically elect Republicans to office. For the majority of the states‚ the local teachers unions are affiliates of one of the two largest national unions‚ either the National Education Association or the American Federation of Teachers. (As an aside‚ state affiliates are usually identified by the state’s name followed by a variant of “Education Association‚” if connected to the NEA‚ or “Federation of Teachers‚” if connected to the AFT.) Both unions appear to have adopted a different donation strategy over the last decade: Instead of only investing in Democratic campaigns‚ they also put money behind the unions’ preferred candidates in Republican primaries. Fifteen states’ teachers unions have donated at least $3‚000 each to Republican candidates in state legislative primaries since 2018‚ with 16 states’ unions donating less than $3‚000 each. In Alabama‚ Indiana‚ Illinois‚ Ohio‚ Pennsylvania‚ Tennessee‚ and Texas‚ where Republican-sponsored education legislation from school choice reform to parental rights bills have consistently dominated state legislative sessions‚ unions have pumped hundreds of thousands of dollars into certain Republican candidates’ state legislative primaries. For example‚ between 2018 and 2024‚ the Pennsylvania State Teachers Association has contributed $887‚854 to Republican state legislative primaries in Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania State Education Association has donated $97‚000 to Rep. Thomas Mehaffie III‚ R-Dauphin‚ and is his second biggest donor. He has received $15‚000 so far in 2024 and got $19‚000 in 2022 and $62‚000 in 2020. The Ohio Education Association donated $681‚740 to Republicans in state legislative primary races between 2018 and 2024.  Since 2018‚ the Indiana State Teachers Association has contributed $230‚100 to Republican state legislative primaries in Indiana. After incumbent Edward Clere‚ R-New Albany‚ was challenged by New Albany anti-union candidate Jackie Bright Grubbs‚ Clere received a $30‚000 donation from the Indiana Political Action Committee for Education‚ which is funded by the Indiana State Teachers Association. State Sen. Ron Alting‚ R-Lafayette‚ who has received $42‚500 from the Indiana State Teachers Association since 2018‚ has voted against the Senate’s Republican majority on more education and parental rights bills than any other currently serving Republican state senator. Neither Alting nor Clere responded to The Daily Signal’s request for comment by time of publication‚ but the story will be updated if they do. The two largest Texas teachers unions‚ the Texas State Teachers Association and the Texas Federation of Teachers‚ and at least two associated PACs have spent $343‚239 on Republican primaries between 2018 and 2024. Zeph Capo‚ president of the Texas Federation of Teachers‚ urged teachers in a Mar. 1 letter to vote for 16 Texas House GOP incumbents who have taken union donations and “stood against Gov. [Greg] Abbott’s voucher push last year.” “Voucher” refers to school choice vouchers that allow students to take part of the public funding that would have been spent on them in public schools and use it for private‚ charter‚ or homeschool expenses.  Capo described the GOP primary challengers as “well-monied.” Sixteen House incumbents have received between $3‚000 and $25‚000 for their primaries so far this year from various PACs and union-associated organizations. Corey DeAngelis‚ senior fellow at the American Federation for Children‚ an organization that advocates for school choice‚ posted on X that the Texas Federation of Teachers has endorsed 77 candidates in 2024 but has not openly endorsed any Republican candidates‚ despite contributing to GOP campaigns via the Defend Rural Texas PAC and the Texas AFT Committee on Political Education. In a statement to The Daily Signal‚ DeAngelis argued that teachers unions aren’t openly documenting their donations to Republicans because such endorsements are a “kiss of death”: The Texas affiliate of Randi Weingarten’s teachers union [the American Federation of Teachers] publicly endorsed a bunch of House Republicans in 2022. But this year‚ although they made 77 public endorsements‚ none of them were Republicans. Instead‚ leaked evidence reveals they are supporting ‘Republicans’ in the primaries who voted against school choice in more private ways‚ including phone-banking and funding a PAC that contributes to some of them. The radical leftist teachers union is trying to hide their support because they know their public endorsement has become the political kiss of death for Republicans. The Illinois Education Association spent the second-highest amount on Republican state legislative primaries‚ only behind Alabama. Between 2018 and 2024‚ the association spent $2‚650‚315 on Republican candidates. A report from public radio station WGLT in Illinois reports that at least $250‚000 of this sum is dedicated to “unseating two conservative House Freedom Caucus members in southeastern Illinois‚” state Reps. Adam Niemerg‚ R-Dieterich‚ and Blaine Wilhour‚ R-Beecher City. Dick Simpson‚ a former Chicago alderman and professor at the University of Chicago‚ told WGLT that this move would be “to the advantage of the unions to try and get more moderate Republicans.” “Even if they’re not going to vote with [the unions] 100% of the time‚” Simpson said‚ “at least their more vocal opponents will be out of the legislature.” Niemerg’s primary opponent‚ Jim Acklin‚ is neither a stranger to state representative primaries nor to teachers union donations. In 2016‚ Acklin received $63‚900 from the Illinois Education Association but lost the primary for Illinois’ House District 102. Acklin did not respond to The Daily Signal’s request for comment by time of publication‚ but the story will be updated if he does. Illinois isn’t the only state where teachers union donations don’t always guarantee a victory. In 2022‚ the Tennessee Educators Association donated at least $3‚000 to 21 Republicans in primaries for the state Senate and House. Nine of those lost their primaries‚ including the two GOP candidates on whom the Tennessee Educators Association spent the most: Gabriel Fancher and Donnie Hall—both of whom received $12‚700 each. Since 2018‚ the Tennessee Educators Association has donated $480‚597 to Republican primaries in Tennessee. In some states‚ teachers unions have thrown so much money into the GOP primary system that they’ve outspent all other Republican donors. A 2023 report from the Alabama Policy Institute showed that the Alabama Education Association was the largest contributor to Republican state legislative candidates in the 2022-23 election cycle‚ spending $1‚557‚500 on Republican House and Senate campaigns. Since 2018‚ the Alabama Education Association has donated a total of $3‚270‚938 to Alabama Republicans—the most of any teachers union in the country. The union has given at least $2.4 million to candidates for the Alabama House of Representatives‚ and $1.51 million to candidates for the Alabama State Senate in the last decade. Republicans have a supermajority in the Alabama state Legislature‚ with 73 of the 105 seats in the Alabama House and 27 of the 35 seats in the Alabama Senate. According to an article from Alabama Today‚ only 18 Republican representatives and seven senators refused the teachers unions’ donations. Becky Pringle‚ president of the NEA‚ prematurely claimed responsibility for the defeat of an expanded school choice bill in Alabama in 2023 in an early January email to all NEA members‚ though a version of the bill since passed on Feb. 28. All six of the Republicans who voted with Democrats against the bill received between $5‚000 and $25‚000 in primary donations from the Alabama Education Association. Jason Bedrick of The Heritage Foundation’s Center for Education Policy told The Daily Signal that these union trends are an obvious and desperate move: It’s obvious what’s going on here: The unions are terrified that parents are clamoring for more education choice‚ so they’re doing everything they can to stop it. In red states‚ or even red areas of blue states‚ that means supporting candidates who might disagree with them on other issues but who can be relied upon to oppose policies that expand education freedom for families. Two major pharmacy chains are preparing to place abortion pills on their shelves in select states‚ according to The New York Times. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced in January 2023 that pharmacies would be able to start dispensing the abortion pill mifepristone to patients. Officials from Walgreens and CVS drug stores said Friday that they plan to stock the pills in select stores where abortion is legal this month‚ but won’t allow the medication to be sent through the mail‚ according to the Times. “We are beginning a phased rollout in select locations to allow us to ensure quality‚ safety‚ and privacy for our patients‚ providers‚ and team members‚” Fraser Engerman‚ a spokesperson for Walgreens‚ said. Walgreens is set to start selling mifepristone in New York‚ Pennsylvania‚ Massachusetts‚ California‚ and Illinois; CVS will do the same in Massachusetts and Rhode Island‚ according to the Times. The companies are also monitoring states like Kansas‚ Montana‚ and Wyoming‚ which have abortion laws on the books but are currently enjoined from enforcing them by a court order. “We continually monitor and evaluate changes in state laws and will dispense mifepristone in any state where it is or becomes legally permissible to do so‚” Amy Thibault‚ a spokesperson for CVS‚ told the Times. In order to become eligible‚ pharmacies can fill out an application to become certified to provide mifepristone‚ and women do not need to see a doctor before obtaining the medication. Pharmacies are supposed to inform patients of the potential risks of taking chemical abortion pills‚ but pro-life medical experts have warned that if women aren’t seen by doctors they face serious risks of surgery and complications. The Food and Drug Administration is being sued by the American Association of Pro-Life OBGYNs and Gynecologists‚ the American College of Pediatricians‚ and the Christian Medical &; Dental Association for allegedly rushing to get the pill on the market without taking necessary safety precautions. The Supreme Court agreed in December to take the case‚ so it likely will issue a ruling in coming months that would limit or expand access to mifepristone.
