What Trump Needs to Do in Debate

The 2024 election is Donald Trump’s to lose. Right now, he is running even with President Joe Biden in all the national polls. He’s running ahead in Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada; he’s running even in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin; he’s closing within striking distance in Minnesota and New Hampshire. The map has radically expanded for him. Meanwhile, Biden’s approval ratings are stagnant: He’s stuck at below 40%. Americans’ view of the economy remains dim, as does their view of Biden’s foreign policy; they don’t see Biden as a commanding or charismatic figure. What’s more, Americans’ perceptions of the two candidates are unlikely to change dramatically before the election. Biden has been underwater with voters since September 2021 and his ignominious Afghanistan withdrawal. He’s been losing to or dead even with Trump in the national polling since September 2023. But that doesn’t mean that Trump will necessarily win. The debate this week is one of the few possible turning points in the race. The Republican and Democratic conventions are unlikely to shift momentum. There’s the possibility that Trump will be sentenced to jailtime in July, but even that is unlikely to radically shift the numbers. And, of course, it is possible that Biden suffers a health crisis. But the debate itself can change opinions. Or, rather, it can change focus. So far, the race has been about Biden. No new information has been added to the litany of criticisms against Trump since 2021. Meanwhile, Biden has been the president—and he’s been doing a terrible job of it, setting things on fire both at home and abroad. He’s also in a state of obvious mental and physical decline. But the debate could shift the focus back to Trump. Obviously, that’s Biden’s plan—and, presumably, the plan of the interlocutors at CNN. As George Stephanopoulos recently told CNN’s Abby Phillip, the “most important question” is whether Trump will accept the results of the 2020 election as legitimate. “If you can’t pass that fundamental threshold of saying, ‘Yes the last election was not stolen,’ two, ‘I will abide by the results of the next election,’ then I think that’s all voters and viewers need to know,” said Stephanopoulos. Presumably, Biden and anchors Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will follow that advice. Which means that Trump had better have an answer that shifts the focus away from his views of 2020 and back toward 2024. He ought to say: We disagree on what happened in the 2020 election. I believe, for example, that your Democratic colleagues changed a lot of the voting rules in shocking ways, and that you and your friends in the media covered up a story about your son’s corruption, even though they knew it was true. But none of that matters much to the American people. What matters is now. Today. 2024. You’re the president, regardless of what I think happened in 2020. And you’ve been awful, which is why you’re losing. Keeping the focus on Biden will be key. If asked about Jan. 6—which he surely will be—Trump should respond: Joe, you’ve said I’m a threat to democracy because I don’t believe I lost the 2020 election. Well, Hillary Clinton doesn’t believe she lost the 2016 election, and that’s apparently just fine. In reality, you’re the threat to democracy: You’ve sicced your political allies on me in the courts, used OSHA to try to mandate vaccines for 80 million Americans, violated the Constitution to try to let people skate on their student loan debt, and violated your constitutional oath by keeping the border open and letting through 7 million illegal immigrants. Americans care less about Jan. 6, 2021, than Nov. 5, 2024. Again, this election is Trump’s to lose. That means steadily, calmly keeping the focus on the man who occupies the White House—regardless of whom Trump thinks ought to have occupied the White House in January 2021. Murder suspect released from custody in Ohio because of 'clerical error'

A man accused of gunning down a husband and father in cold blood last year was accidentally released from custody after a "clerical error" at an Ohio court incorrectly indicated that his case had been dismissed.Last fall, Derek Driskill, a 39-year-old husband and father of three, was driving his new Mercedes-Benz in a parking lot on the eastside of Cleveland when he was rear-ended by another vehicle. Driskill and the driver of the other vehicle were reportedly handling the situation peacefully when Amarion Sanders, who was apparently sitting in the passenger seat of the other vehicle, allegedly hopped out and shot Driskill in the head before fleeing the scene.'You would think there’s more than one person that something like that goes through.'Driskill passed away from his injuries two days later, his wife, Andrea Johnson, claimed. "Obviously I was heartbroken. I didn’t want to believe it," she said. "... I thought he would be OK, but he died."Sanders later turned himself in. He was charged with aggravated murder, two counts of murder, and two counts of felonious assault and assessed a bail of $1 million, which he did not pay. Thus, he remained in custody at the Cuyahoga County Jail while his case processed through the system.Until this week.On Monday, the cases of Sanders, now 22, and Antonio Seymore, a 35-year-old defendant charged with assault and theft, were both assigned to the same Cuyahoga County judge. Their case numbers were also remarkably similar, just one digit apart. Sanders' case was 685908, while Seymore's was 685909.According to reports, someone at the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas accidentally mixed up their case numbers on the docket. Thus, when prosecutors motioned to dismiss the case against Seymore after witnesses against him failed to appear, Sanders was actually the one released from custody.Law enforcement agencies were then instructed to find and rearrest Sanders and bring him back to jail. A team of U.S. Marshals made contact with Sanders' family on Tuesday night and attempted to negotiate a peaceful surrender, but Sanders allegedly did not cooperate. The Marshals then arrested him around 9:30 on Wednesday morning and returned him to custody. He has a hearing in connection with Driskill's murder scheduled for August 19.In the meantime, Driskill's family is still reeling from the emotional rollercoaster of the past few days. "I don’t think it’s fair. I mean, that’s not justice, it’s not our family feeling safe. I mean, he’s out on the street and can do it to somebody else," said Johnson, Driskill's widow."I honestly do not understand how that happens. I understand humans make mistakes, but you would think there’s more than one person that something like that goes through."The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement that the case against Sanders was "accidentally dismissed" because of "a clerical error made by the court." "There was no motion to dismiss filed by our office," the statement reiterated. The Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas likewise issued a statement, expressing "regret" for "the error." "The Court will review our procedures and work with the Sheriff’s Department to determine how best to ensure that a similar incident does not happen in the future," the court statement added. "We are grateful for the assistance of law enforcement in providing the safe return of Mr. Sanders."Like Blaze News? Is ‘Bachelorette’ star Josh Seiter really TRANS— or is it all a master troll?

Josh Seiter is back in the spotlight. Seiter first appeared on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of "The Bachelorette" in 2015. He then made headlines again after an odd death hoax last year, when a false statement was posted to his Instagram account claiming he had died at the age of 36. Now, the former "Bachelorette" hopeful has come out as transgender. “There’s been a lot of comments, most it revolving around my appearance, how I look, whether I have facial and body hair, how far along in my transition I am, and just a lot of intolerance and hate and myopic viewpoints on what a woman is and how they should present and how they should look,” Seiter tells Alex Stein. “Have you reached out to ABC? Would you like to be the future Bachelorette instead of, you know, just a contestant, would you like to be the main female that all the guys are trying to go after?” Stein asks Seiter. “Well, I haven’t thought that far ahead,” Seiter admits. Seiter is also, surprisingly, not a fan of the Biden regime. “I feel like it’s really insulting how much they’re constantly trying to divide people based on our orientation and our race, and it’s just something that I’m not a fan of,” Seiter says, adding that he’s “not MAGA.” Stein — who has himself dressed as a woman and worn a “tuck-friendly” bathing suit as a gimmick — has a serious question for Seiter. “I’m just telling you this as a friend, I know this is a bit, I know it’s a gimmick, and I know you’re trolling, and I love it because I do the same thing. But how long do you think you can do this for, dude? I mean, let's be real,” Stein asks. “Well, it’s not a bit for me. It may have been a bit for you, but for me it’s how I feel,” Seiter responds. Stein still isn’t buying it. “Josh, you’re lying!” He shouts, but Seiter sticks to his guns. “I’m just living my authentic truth,” he says. Indiana man and son get into shootout with 3 home intruders and realize wounded suspect is their relative, police say

A shoutout between a man and his son and three armed home intruders ended up with the victims realizing one of the suspects was a relative of theirs, according to Indiana police. Darrell Gibbs told WXIN-TV that he was awakened from his sleep at about 4 a.m. on Sunday by the sounds of six to eight gunshots coming from the back of his home in southwest Indianapolis. 'I have no sympathy for anybody doing that. You don’t do that to family.'”I was in bed asleep, and then I hear the gunfire,” Gibbs said. “And my son taps on the door and tells me what’s happening, and I get dressed and come out back.” Gibbs says three armed men damaged his back door trying to kick it in. One of them was wounded by gunshots from Gibbs' son firing back at them. “I see the intruder laying here on the ground, and he wanted me to make a call for him," said Gibbs. The alleged intruder told him, “You know me, you know me," according to Gibbs. “You don’t come knocking in somebody’s back door," Gibbs continued, "and he lost his gun on this side of the ground over by the fire pit, and he was laying there in the weeds there.”The man said that they eventually figured out that the wounded man was their relative.“It was little Matt, my nephew’s son," Gibbs claimed. The man, identified as 24-year-old Matthew Kinniard II, reportedly told Gibbs that he could not feel his legs. ”I used my phone to call 911 to get somebody out here, the ambulance for him and stuff, and I even made a call to his grandmother with my phone and lift up the speaker so he could talk and his girlfriend,” Gibbs continued. “If I seen him walking down the street, I couldn’t have told you who he was. That’s how often I been around him.”Gibbs said that the two other suspects ran away, got into a car that was parked at a church nearby, and then sped away. 'He thought he could hit a lick here, and it didn’t pan out for him.' When Gibbs was asked if there was anything worth stealing in his home, he said no. “No, I work hard enough just to pay the bills," he responded. ”Somebody has probably told him lies, and he thought he could hit a lick here, and it didn’t pan out for him." Gibbs said police interviewed his son but released him. ”I don’t really wish the worst on anybody, but I have no sympathy for anybody doing that. You don’t do that to family. It shouldn’t even be heard of, you know.”WXIN reported that Kinniard is still in the hospital. Police said they are searching for the other two intruders and are reviewing surveillance video from the neighborhood. Like Blaze News? WATCH: Hidden camera catches Disney VP admitting the company refuses to hire white males + Elon Musk’s response

It’s no secret that Disney is on the ropes. Maybe if the company quit with the DEI hires and returned to making solid content sans woke propaganda, its glory days wouldn’t be banished to the past. However, any hopes of repentance from Disney are all but dashed when you hear what Disney senior VP Michael Giordana was caught on camera admitting. According to reports, James O’Keefe had unspecified agents contact Giordana through a dating website. Then on the faux dates, hidden cameras caught Giordana blatantly admitting that Disney avoids hiring white men. Dave Rubin plays two clips. Elon Musk Responds to Disney Caught Discriminating Against White Men youtu.be In the first clip, Giordana said, “Certainly, there have been times where, you know, there’s no way we’re hiring a white male for this,” referencing the company’s hiring practices. “Just kind of unspoken?” the undercover journalist asked. “There are times when it’s spoken,” he confirmed, adding that execs blatantly say to him, “There’s no way we’re hiring a white male for this role,” but “are very careful how they message that to agents.” In the second video, Giordana admitted that the anti-white hiring practices are impacting even him. “I think I’m sort of well prepared for it. I’m well positioned for it,” he told his “date,” referring to some kind of promotion. But “as far as Disney’s concerned, I’m a white male, and that’s not who they’re looking to promote at the moment.” “I mean, I’ve been at the company for 11 years now, so I have friends in HR and I have friends in those divisions, and they’re like, ‘Look, nobody else is gonna tell you this, Mike, but they’re not considering any white males for this job. They’re just not,”’ he elaborated. “You got a white male VP at Disney basically admitting they discriminate against white males, consigning himself to the fact that he probably is not going to move up any further,” says Dave, criticizing the way “racism and discrimination has been so ingrained into these systems.” And he’s not alone in those feelings. Elon Musk, upon seeing the footage, tweeted: “I suspect that Elon Musk over at Twitter and over at Starlink and over at SpaceX and Neuralink [doesn’t] hire people based on the color of their skin. When they're looking for engineers, they're like, ‘Are you going to be able to help us build the coolest, most awesome, functional rocket so that we can travel the stars? We don't care what your genitals are or what skin color you are,”’ says Dave.
