Actor Alec Baldwin smacked the phone of an anti-Israel protester on Monday who hounded him inside a coffee shop in New York City. The woman approached Baldwin while he was on the phone and appeared to have just finished ordering. “Alec‚ can you please say‚ ‘Free Palestine’ one time&;#63;” the woman said. “Why did you kill that lady&;#63; You killed that lady and got no jail time. Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY) slammed luxury real estate developer Mohamed Hadid — father of models Bella and Gigi‚ both of whom have made anti-Semitic remarks — for vile messages that he sent the congressman. The New York Post obtained the messages late last week in which Hadid told Torres in a direct message on Instagram: “You worse than the rats of New York sewage system. They have bigger brains than you. You might get a job as bouncer at gay bar.” Torres‚ who is openly gay‚ left the Progressive Caucus after October 7 because he has been a major supporter of Israel. “I promise you will never be in congress .. slave to whit[e]s and .. make sure you dress as KKK to hide that ugly gray colored face of yours‚” he said. “I know about Bronx.” “You are just unusual Black and colorful mouth for Israeli and AIPAC and looking for payday of over 500K‚” Hadid said in a different message. “You will get it .. unfortunately. George Washington University law school professor Jonathan Turley slammed the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office for bringing its criminal case against former President Donald Trump during an interview this week‚ saying that it was an “embarrassment” to the justice system. Turley made the remarks during a interview where he discussed the opening statements of Trump’s “hush money” trial. “If you polled people and ask if Trump was responsible for the bubonic plague‚ we would end up with the same 35%. We have these hard numbers on either end of the poll when it comes to Trump. They don’t move no matter what the subject is‚” Turley said. “What’s clear is in this case‚ Trump is right. I mean‚ this is an embarrassment. I mean the fact that we are actually talking about this case being presented in a New York courtroom leaves me in utter disbelief.” “I mean‚ the arguments today did in fact capture all the problems here‚” he continued. “You know‚ you had this misdemeanor under state law where‚ that had run out‚ this is going back to relate it to the 2016 election‚ and they zapped it back into life by alleging that there was a campaign finance violation under the federal laws that doesn’t exist. The Department of Justice doesn’t view it this way.” Turley concluded‚ “On top of that‚ you got these tough factual issues that were laid out well by the Trump team. One of former President Donald Trump’s top lawyers explained this week that he believes that Democrats used their criminal cases against Trump to try to keep him off the campaign trail. Attorney Chris Kise made the remarks during a Fox News interview when asked by host Jesse Watters what he believed was happening. “Well‚ I think‚ you know‚ the Democrats claim that Trump is a threat to democracy‚” he said. “The real threat to democracy is the willingness to abuse the power of your office to influence what should otherwise be a free and fair election. And that’s exactly what’s going on downtown in the courtroom. I mean‚ look at just this week. You’ve got a hearing in a civil case about essentially nothing. You’ve got a criminal trial starting. And later this week‚ there’ll be a Supreme Court argument. All in cases that were made up specifically for the purpose of influencing the outcome of an election.” Kise said that the trials that Trump faced all had a “similar pattern” and he wasn’t even sure if the Democrats even cared that much about winning them. “I’m not even sure that they really care what the outcome was‚” he said. “We went downtown and had a hearing to determine that $175 million of President Trump’s cash that he posted‚ is actually worth $175 million. And a bond form that has been in use for 100 years in the State of New York is actually valid‚ but we wasted time‚ money‚ and resources. And I think that’s the goal. Let’s drain the President’s time. Let’s drain his focus. Let’s drain his resources. All while now President Biden is somehow magically out of the basement campaigning. He’s on the campaign.” Speaking on the draining impact that being on in the courtroom has on a person‚ Kise said: “It does take a toll.
