Carter Page Finds Trump Trial Eerily Familiar

Déjà vu. That phrase captures Carter Page’s reaction as he walks through lower Manhattan. The Daniel Patrick Moynihan U.S. Courthouse, the Jacob Javits Federal Building, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office all remind the former Trump campaign adviser of various moments in his career—from intern for New York’s now-deceased Democratic U.S. senator to foreign-intelligence source to the victim of fraudulent FBI spying. What Page finds most eerily familiar is the bookkeeping-entry trial of President Donald Trump, which he observed in person. Page considers the scene in Judge Juan Merchan’s courtroom just the latest episode in the relentless persecution of the former president and his supporters. This began virtually the day that the real-estate magnate declared his presidential candidacy. “The [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act] abuse/international spy scandal that prominent [Democratic National Committee] operatives and senior officials of the Obama-Biden administration designed to take out President Trump in his first political campaign remains largely unresolved,” Page tells me exclusively. “For more than seven years, we have continued to fight against the corrupt U.S. Department of Justice and the Democrat Party’s operatives who have largely dominated these continued dishonest attacks against President Trump, myself, and so many others.”  Page recalls “the original witch hunt” that began in 2016. Left-wing pro-Hillary Clinton operatives at the CIA, DOJ, and throughout the Deep State—not least then-FBI officials James Comey, Andrew McCabe, and Peter Strzok—spied on Trump’s campaign, snooped on his advisers, raided their homes, sentenced some to prison, and locked up others. “Believe it or not, people have families,” Page says. “Think of the impact that this has had on President Trump’s family, Gen. Michael Flynn’s family, my own, and so many others. All of this chaos tore families apart. But on the other hand, it also pulled families together. That’s why I was so very moved to see Eric Trump here to support his father.” Page waited in line to enter the Manhattan Criminal Courts Building, along with scores of journalists eager to cover New York vs. Trump. Page and other citizens sat beside the Fourth Estate and marveled at this unprecedented scenario. “Although Fox News and a few other conservative media outlets maintain a limited presence in Courtroom 1530, the vast majority of enthusiastic attendees who fill the benches at 100 Centre Street are the same mainstream outlets that pushed the false Russia collusion hoax, from late in the 2016 election through the first three years of the first Trump administration,” Page says. “Just as the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court was unsuccessfully used as an early prop to ‘get Trump,’ this court in lower Manhattan is the latest front line in this ongoing assault on American democracy.” Trump’s defenders have questioned Merchan’s objectivity in this matter, given his political donations to President Joe Biden and a PAC called Stop Republicans, as well as his daughter’s management of a political consultancy that runs digital ads and raises money for Democratic candidates and causes. Page, however, gives Merchan the benefit of the doubt. He believes that the jurist displayed common decency by excusing Trump to attend his son Barron’s graduation from Palm Beach’s Oxbridge Academy last Friday. Like most Americans, Page is eager to see whether a jury from Manhattan—which voted 86.4% for Joe Biden—will “Get Trump,” no matter what, or whether District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s crumbling case will make them gag. If so, perhaps through gritted teeth, they just might acquit Trump of these so-far unproven charges. Either way, Page, a Naval Academy alumnus, understands the moral of this story. “The main lesson is that we need to start fighting much more strongly,” Page says. “President Trump and each of us other crime victims have certainly learned this the hard way. Equally important, we must be ready to call out the Democrats’ continued election interference campaigns, especially now, as their assault on American democracy has reached new levels with this latest ongoing show trial.” The Daily Signal publishes a variety of perspectives. Study Finds Gender Transition Surgeries Drastically Increase Suicide Risk

While some in the U.S. health community continue to claim that gender transition procedures save lives, a new study shows that these surgeries interventions increase the risk of suicide. A study published last month entitled “Risk of Suicide and Self-Harm Following Gender-Affirmation Surgery” evaluated patient data from nearly 60 U.S. health care organizations, comprising millions of patients. Over 1,500 patients, called “Cohort A,” were described as “adults aged 18-60 who had gender-affirming surgery and an emergency visit”; nearly 16 million patients, called “Cohort B,” who were a “control group of adults with emergency visits but no gender-affirming surgery.” Almost 150,000 patients, “Cohort C,” were described as “adults with emergency visits, tubal ligation or vasectomy, but no gender-affirming surgery.” A fourth group, “Cohort D,” was examined to “validate the results from Cohort C.” Data analyzed covered 20 years, from Feb. 4, 2003, to Feb. 4, 2023. The study concluded: “Individuals who underwent gender-affirming surgery had a 12.12-fold higher suicide attempt risk than those who did not.” Those who had undergone gender transition surgeries were nearly five times more likely to attempt suicide than those who had undergone tubal ligations or vasectomies, the study found. It warned: “Gender-affirming surgery is significantly associated with elevated suicide attempt risks, underlining the necessity for comprehensive post-procedure psychiatric support.” The findings are in line with the conclusions of numerous other studies. For example, research published in the journal BMJ Mental Health earlier this year found that gender transition procedures such as hormone drugs and surgeries have “not been shown to reduce even suicidal ideation, and suicidal ideation is not equal to actual suicide risk.” And in Sweden, an extensive 30-year-long study concluded that suicide rates increase after gender transition surgeries, rising to at least 20 times the suicide rate of the general population. A report from the U.K. last year found that over a third of children who were prescribed puberty blockers and hormone drugs suffered worsened mental health. And a study from Finland discovered that those who identify as transgender typically manifest “many more common psychiatric needs” than the general population, but that gender transition procedures don’t alleviate or cure those mental health issues. Countless other studies have shown that gender transition procedures are harmful, especially to children. A study published in March suggested that puberty blockers have numerous harmful effects on children, including an increased risk of cancer in boys. As it turns out, transgenderism activists have been aware of the “debilitating” effects of gender transition procedures for years. Leaked internal files from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, or WPATH, demonstrated that members of the organization were acutely aware of the “debilitating” and “potentially fatal” effects of gender transition procedures, which they also implied they didn’t “fully understand.” This was further confirmed earlier this year with publication of a series of video presentations from WPATH’s 2022 Global Education Institute. In those videos, WPATH “experts” discussed how they know little about the long-term effects of hormone drugs, other than the permanent damage done to fertility. The organization’s experts also discussed how puberty blockers are irreversible and may have devastating impacts on both future fertility and current brain development; how gender transition procedures don’t alleviate mental health issues and may make them worse; and the dangers associated with surgical interventions, including high complication rates, severe damage to healthy tissue, and potential side effects such as healing delays or necrosis. Lately, experts outside the U.S. have sounded the alarm over the potential and largely unstudied dangers of gender transition procedures, especially for children. Both England and Scotland have halted the prescription of puberty blockers and hormone drugs to minors, with England’s National Health Service warning that “there is not enough evidence of safety and clinical effectiveness” to support their use. Some leading clinical psychologists publicly apologized for their profession’s role in promoting “gender-affirming care” and called for a thorough review and possible reform of the psychological and psychiatric profession’s standards. And the NHS revised its official constitution to declare sex a “biological” reality, instead of giving preference to “gender identity.” The U.K. is one of five European countries that have put the brakes on gender transition procedures for minors. France, Sweden, Finland, and Norway all also warned that there is insufficient evidence to support puberty blockers, hormone drugs, and surgeries for children; the U.S. has become an “outlier” by continuing to endorse the practice. Last year, Assistant Health and Human Services Secretary Rachel Levine, a man who identifies as a woman, declared: “We often say that gender-affirming care is health care, gender-affirming care is mental health care, and gender-affirming care is literally suicide prevention care.” However, when pressed to provide evidence supporting the claim, Levine could produce only a single, two-page PDF document citing one study conducted by an LGBT activist group. Man rescues unique ‘mini goat’ and soon learns he’s ‘something else’ entirely

When Scott and Steve from Fuzzy Muzzy Farm Sanctuary heard about Scooby, a goat living in poor conditions, they knew they had to step in. Scooby, along with another goat named Shaggy, was confined to a tiny one-car garage off a major highway, with no room to graze or exercise. The conditions were far from... Who Would Do That? Nets Ignore Reuters Report on Vanishing Aid in Gaza

In a story penned Monday and updated Tuesday morning, Reuters’s Michelle Nicholas explained things haven’t exactly gone swimmingly (pun intended) for aid coming from a U.S.-constructed pier into Hamas-controlled Gaza as 11 out of 16 trucks on Saturday never made it to their intended destinations (and thus, being able to reach storage) as they were raided along the way. As such, by Monday afternoon, no delivers came through since Saturday. Not surprisingly, the pro-Hamas liberal networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC omitted this from coverage of the war in their flagship Monday night and Tuesday morning newscasts. “Food and medicine for Palestinians in Gaza are piling up in Egypt because the Rafah crossing remains closed and there has been no aid delivered to a U.N. warehouse from a U.S.-built pier for two days, U.N. officials warned on Monday,” Nicholas said in her lede. Of course, the story had to have an anti-Israel tilt as the next graph cited a United Nations official to kvetch there’s been “insufficient supplies and fuel to...Gaza as they endure Israel's military onslaught against Hamas militants.” But why is that? Nicholas provided one of the answers a few lines later: “Egypt said on Monday that the crossing is closed due to the threat posed to aid work by Israel's military operation.” After again blaming Israel, she arrived at the heart of the matter with the pier: The U.N. agreed to assist in coordinating aid distribution from the floating pier, but has remained adamant that deliveries by land are the best way to combat the crisis. The U.N. said that 10 truckloads of food aid - transported from the pier site by U.N. contractors - were received on Friday at a World Food Programme warehouse in Deir El Balah in Gaza. But on Saturday, only five truckloads made it to the warehouse after 11 others were cleaned out by Palestinians during the journey through an area that a U.N. official said has been hard to access with humanitarian aid. (....) The U.N. did not receive any aid from the pier on Sunday or Monday. The reactions on Twitter didn’t disappoint. Foundation for the Defense of Democracies senior fellow Bill Roggio tweeted that “[t]he Gaza aid pier may be the most expensive piece of performance art ever created. This was destined to fail. Our tax dollars hard at work.  For Hamas.” Free Beacon contributor Noah Pollak brought more of the facts to bear: “The US taxpayer-provided $320m Gaza pier is an ongoing terror finance violation by the Biden administration and administered by CENTCOM. We ship aid to Hamas that it ‘steals’ and sells in Gaza to finance its terror war. There should be hearings.” Longtime Florida political reporter Marc Caputo (now with the Bulwark) had perhaps the best take: “Well, we can’t say for sure Hamas stole this aid[.] I mean, should we suspect a terrorist group that staged a murder, rape & kidnapping raid —only to then hide among civilians in one of earth’s densest urban areas— of stealing from the very population it rules through fear?”

Macho Joe Scarborough: If I Were Judge Merchan, I'd SHACKLE Trump And Jail Him!

Macho Joe Scarborough: If I Were Judge Merchan, I'd SHACKLE Trump And Jail Him!

Muy Macho Joe Scarborough has once again proven himself the toughest hombre this side of Nantucket. Among several past displays of his sizzling manliness, Scarborough once boasted he'd force a tourist to eat his camera if he found him snapping pics inside the Capitol somewhere Scarborough didn't approve.  Macho Joe was back at it on today's Morning Joe. Discussing the situation at Trump's hush money trial yesterday in which Judge Merchan gave a tongue-lashing to defense witness Robert Costello for an exasperated "Jeez" and then an exasperated sigh over Merchan's rulings. Scarborough claimed that in his young-lawyer days in Florida, "if a witness acted toward a judge the way this defense witness acted yesterday, judge would have cleared the courtroom, called in the bailiff, sent him to jail, say, we're going to take a recess and let the witness think about this in jail in 24 hours. And take him out in cuffs, and bring him back the next day." Willie Geist performed his usual sidekick remarks: "Judge Merchan making it clear that whatever you are doing to perform for President Trump right now, whatever you're trying to do to signal that you are continuing to be sort of a tough guy, a thug on behalf and in defense of President Trump, it's not going to work in this courtroom." Scarborough replied "Exactly, And he's playing, like the clowns behind him that all come in with their cyborg red ties, to an audience of one." Macho Joe found no irony that he was wearing a blue blazer, a white shirt, and a red tie -- full cyborg! -- or that he does his own daily show for an audience of one, namely Joe Biden.  As for Costello, Scarborough declared that: "If he were to do it again, he needs to be sent to jail. He needs to be sent to jail immediately." Scarborough then trained his macho sights on Trump. Joe said that Judge Merchan has shown "restraint" in the face of Trump "going out and, and attacking him personally, suggesting that he's corrupt, suggesting that the court system is rigged, making it extraordinarily personal toward him and members of his family."      Scarborough then declared: "I don't care who the defendants were. If I were the judge, they're going to jail. I would bring them in shackles day in and day out. I  don't care if it were a Democrat, a Republican, whether it was a steel worker, at teacher, or the President of the United States." No word from Joe whether he'd order Trump to spend "a night in the box," a la Cool Hand Luke.  For good measure, Scarborough claimed the notion that Trump is the victim of a double standard in which he's being prosecuted for actions others wouldn't be is " just bullshit. Rank bullshit." Yup. Real men go barnyard scatological on national TV. Right, Macho Joe? Here's the transcript. MSNBC Morning Joe 5/21/24 6:02 am EDT JOE SCARBOROUGH: I will tell you if, and I'll just say it again, in, in most courtrooms in  America, certainly in courtrooms that I grew up around as a young attorney in northwest Florida, if a witness acted toward a judge the way this defense witness acted yesterday, judge would have cleared the courtroom, called in the bailiff, sent him to jail, say, we're going to take a recess and let the witness think about this in jail in 24 hours. And take him out in cuffs, and bring him back the next day. But obviously, the judge is balancing a lot of different things. We'll get to that in a minute. . . .  WILLIE GEIST: So, an extraordinary moment, and Judge Merchan making it clear that whatever you are doing to perform for President Trump right now, whatever you're trying to do to signal that you are continuing to be sort of a tough guy, a thug on behalf and in defense of President Trump, it's not going to work in this courtroom. SCARBOROUGH: Well, exactly. And he's playing, like the clowns behind him that all come in with their cyborg red ties, to an audience of one. And that makes his disrespectfulness toward the judge, but far more importantly, toward the court, toward the court system itself, all the more maddening. And why if he, if he, if he were to do it again, he needs to be sent to jail. He needs to be sent to jail immediately. Just, let's take a step back. And Judge Merchan has had to show restraint while, every day, you have a defendant going out and, and attacking him personally, suggesting that he's corrupt, suggesting that the court system is rigged, making it extraordinarily personal toward him and members of his family.  And I suppose -- I wouldn't do it. I don't care who the defendant were [sic.] If I'm tthe judge, they're going to jail. And I would bring them in shackles day in and day out. I don't care if it were a Democrat, a Republican, whether it was a steel worker, a teacher, or the President of the United States. You have to respect the judge, because the judge represents the, the, the judicial system. And I understand the balancing act that this judge is in the middle of, Willie, but you take everything in its totality. Maybe it's harder to send a former president to jail for contempt when any other American, any other American, any other American would be sent to jail. MIKA BRZEZINSKI: That is correct. SCARBOROUGH: This double standard stuff, that somehow Donald Trump is on the wrong end of the double standard, that's just, as Aristotle used to say when he was debating Socrates, that's just bullshit. Rank bullshit.

Cori Bush claims police cause black people '50 million' days of trauma a year

Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) claimed in a video posted to X on Monday that police officers nationwide cause black Americans to have over "50 million" days of poor mental health per year.Bush made the remarks while commemorating the birthday of Michael Brown, who was killed by a police officer in self-defense in Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014. "Michael Brown should have turned 28 years old. The last birthday he celebrated and will ever get to celebrate was his 18th. Just 81 days after his 18th birthday, a Ferguson police officer killed him. In a just world, Mike Brown would be with his loved ones right now, celebrating another year, dreaming of his future as he blows out the candles on his birthday cake. But instead, we are only left with the memories of who he was," Bush states in the video.Bush goes on to say Brown's family and friends have to deal with the trauma of the "police violence" that took away Brown. It is because of Brown's case and others, Bush is pushing Congress to pass the "Helping Families Heal Act." "Police killings of unarmed black people are responsible for more than 50 million additional days of poor mental health days per year. It's devastating our community, and it must be addressed," Bush said. The "Helping Families Heal Act" would provide mental health support for "victims, families, and communities harmed by police violence."Bush goes on to whitewash the destructive riots in Ferguson following Brown's death by calling it an "uprising" for justice that "birthed an affirmative vision of our community." 'As we continue to work to end police brutality, mass incarceration, and cycles of trauma, we must also invest in ... health, safety, and well-being.'Cosponsors of Bush's include Democratic Reps. Jamaal Bowman (N.Y.), Bonnie Watson Coleman (N.J.), Jesús “Chuy” García (Ill.), and Rashida Tlaib (Mich.). — (@) "The Helping Families Heal Act will provide more resources to address the devastating mental health consequences of police violence in our communities. As we continue to work to end police brutality, mass incarceration, and cycles of trauma, we must also invest in the health, safety, and well-being of our communities. Together, we can help our families heal," Bush stated in her press release. While Bush does not cite her "50 million" days statistic, the NAACP has published the same claim.Brown was shot by police after Brown attacked the officer. While BLM activists claimed Brown had his hands up when he was shot, an investigation by Barrack Obama's Department of Justice did not find evidence to support those claims. Brown had robbed a convenience store and assaulted the clerk prior to police intercepting Brown.

Slavery-reparation activists demand $15 billion from Boston, perhaps $50 million more from white churches

Slavery-reparation activists demand $15 billion from Boston, perhaps $50 million more from white churches

Activists at a recent meeting demanded the City of Boston allocate billions of dollars in slavery reparations and also called for local white churches to invest millions more.On Saturday, approximately 200 people gathered at the Bolling Building in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston to meet with members of an activist group called the Boston People's Reparations Commission. The professed purpose of the meeting was to establish community demands regarding restitution for slavery, which was effectively banned in Massachusetts before the U.S. Constitution was ratified in 1789.'I'm born and raised in Boston. I couldn't stand this country for what they did to my people!'The Boston People's Reparations Commission officially called for $15 billion from the city, ostensibly to be distributed among current black residents to atone for the beleaguered lives of slaves who died centuries ago. However, Rev. Kevin Peterson, the head of the activist commission, indicated that no amount would ever be satisfactory."Fifteen billion ... is not enough," he told WCVB. "Every life is incalculable. We think about tens of thousands of slaves who died in the midst of slavery in Boston. How do you put a number on that?"Others who spoke at the meeting expressed similar ideas."Reparations is cash. It's land. It's education. It's these other functions that are included. It's not just money," said resident Nick Johnson.Charles Yancey, who spent more than three decades on the Boston City Council, noted that the promises made to former slaves following the Civil War have never been realized. "That has yet to happen," Yancey insisted. "Let's set the tone for the United States of America right here in the city of Boston."Still others took advantage of the opportunity simply to vent racial grievances. "I'm born and raised in Boston, Mass.," railed Wanda Hervey. "I couldn't stand this country [for] what they did to my people!"Rev. Peterson claimed that his group has also been in talks with the leaders of white churches in the area to "invest" an additional $50 million in the black community. Though the current status of those talks is unclear, at least one white woman at the meeting stood in solidarity with those demanding reparations."We acknowledge the truth of violence perpetuated in stolen lives, stolen land, stolen labor, and make a commitment to work with you to uncover the truth and work for repair," pledged Betty Southwick of the Church of the Covenant.Rev. Peterson seemed pleased with the statements from Southwick and others. "Part of my vision has been about a statement of atonement from this part of our community and this part of our city’s culture," he said.Back in January, Democrat Mayor Michelle Wu established the Task Force on Reparations. The task force, made up of 10 members, has been assigned to conduct "a study on the legacy of slavery in Boston and its impact on descendants today," engage with the community to understand residents' "lived experience," and then make a list of recommendations "for reparative justice solutions for Black residents."The Boston People's Reparations Commission is not directly affiliated with the task force, asserting on its website that "we can not (sic) rely on the city solely for justice." Still, the group certainly seems eager to contribute to the task force's work."Our mission is simple: to explore anti-Black histories, interrogate existing anti-Black oppression on the local level and offer viable reparations models and paradigms in the interest of universalizing social justice directed toward the Beloved Community," the website claims.Like Blaze News?
