House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) posted a thread on X Monday he titled “The Amazon Files‚” revealing emails he said show the tech company caved to pressure from the Biden administration “to censor books.” The emails sent from the Biden administration to Amazon and internal messages from the company showed that on the same day that Amazon met with the White House in March 2021‚ the company “enabl[ed] Do Not Promote” for books that expressed hesitancy about the COVID vaccines‚ Jordan said. According to emails the White House sent to Amazon nearly three years ago‚ then-senior White House advisor Andy Slavitt — who at the same time was pressuring Facebook to suppress vaccine-related stories — asked who he could talk to at “the high levels of propaganda and misinformation and disinformation” at Amazon. Slavitt added in his email that a search for “vaccines” under books on Amazon yielded “concerning” results. “How did the Biden White House conclude that there was ‘propaganda and misinformation’ in books sold in Amazon’s bookstore? The congressman’s findings add yet another company to the list of tech giants pressured by the Biden administration to censor vaccine-related information. Pat Mahomes Sr.‚ father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes‚ had an open can of Coors beer in his car and told police he “had a few beers” when he was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Saturday‚ according to an affidavit. Mahomes Sr.‚ 53‚ was arrested in Tyler‚ Texas‚ shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday and released on $10‚000 bail the next day. An affidavit for the arrest obtained by the New York Post said that Mahomes Sr. told police that he “had a few beers while watching a game at a local bar” when he was asked why he was drinking and driving. The former MLB pitcher had been driving slower than other cars‚ and authorities discovered his registration had expired in 2022‚ leading to him being pulled over. “I believed Patrick was impaired to a perceptible degree while operating a motor vehicle in a public place‚” the arresting officer wrote in his report‚ according to the Post. The elder Mahomes faces up to ten years in prison and a $10‚000 fine if he is convicted since this would be his third DWI conviction. He was also convicted of DWI in 2008 and 2019. According to The New York Times‚ Israel intelligence has concluded that 32 of the remaining 136 Israeli hostages held by Hamas are dead. Families of the dead hostages have been informed by the Israeli government of their loved ones’ deaths. Israeli intelligence officials suspect at least 20 other hostages may have also been murdered. Over 240 hostages were taken by Hamas during their October 7 massacre of Israelis. In late December‚ after interviewing over 150 people and conducting a two-month investigation that included evidence from video footage and GPS data‚ the Times published a report about the sexual atrocities committed against Israeli women by Hamas on October 7‚ and the stories were shocking and horrific. The Times report highlighted photographs showing a woman’s corpse with “dozens of nails driven into her thighs and groin‚” as well as a video showing two dead Israeli women soldiers who were shot in their vaginas. One barbaric incident the Times documented involved a 24-year-old female accountant who was shot in the back and who hid under the low branches of a tree and covered herself in dry grass. She said she saw roughly 100 men arrive on motorcycles‚ cars‚ and trucks. The first victim she saw was a young woman with blood streaming down her back and her pants around her knees. The accountant said a man yanked the victim by the hair and forced her to bend over. Another man began raping her and every time she flinched he stabbed her in the back. The accountant said she witnessed another woman “shredded into pieces.” A Hamas terrorist raped her while another cut off one of her breasts with a box cutter. “One continues to rape her‚ and the other throws her breast to someone else‚ and they play with it‚ throw it‚ and it falls on the road‚” she recalled‚ adding that the men sliced the victim’s face and then the woman fell from view.  She said she saw terrorists carrying three severed heads of other women. On Tuesday‚ a second House Republican came out against impeaching Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over his handling of the border crisis‚ putting the GOP-led push on the edge of failure if another defector comes forward. Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA) released a statement and a ten-page memo arguing that a successful House vote will not solve the border crisis under President Joe Biden and that the charges against Mayorkas are not impeachable offenses. “The only way to stop the border invasion is to replace the Biden administration at the ballot box. Democrats have panned the impeachment proceedings as a “political stunt‚” while the White House went as far as to claim the endeavor is “unconstitutional.” Mayorkas pushed back against what he called “false accusations” levied against him. Should impeachment succeed in the House‚ it faces long odds in the Democrat-led Senate. Still‚ House Republicans are expected to move forward with impeachment this week. Actor Bob Saget’s widow made her first public appearance with her new boyfriend two years after her husband’s death. Kelly Rizzo‚ 44‚ attended the 2024 Grammy Awards with actor Breckin Meyer‚ 49‚ per E! News.
