Spotify’s next big bet is online video courses – this company is truly lost

I use Spotify for the same thing that everyone else uses it: to listen to audio. It started as a music streaming app‚ which made a heck of a lot of sense. Then‚ podcasts made their way onto the platform. That also made sense. Then‚ audiobooks popped up. That also made sense. It felt like Spotify hit the trifecta of audio in one app. So‚ what's next? Apparently... online courses? In a blog post‚ the company announced it is now testing online courses for Spotify users in the United Kingdom. The company has partnered with a number of online education companies like BBC Maestro‚ PLAYvirtuoso‚ Skillshare‚ and Thinkific to offer their content directly through Spotify. Continue reading... Meta Quest 2 is the headset to get if you can’t afford a $3‚499 Apple Vision Pro

Meta Quest 2 is the headset to get if you can’t afford a $3‚499 Apple Vision Pro

Apple's exciting new Vision Pro headset is now available in a few regions‚ and most people agree that it looks amazing. Unfortunately‚ most people also agree that the $3‚499 price tag is way too insane to even consider. Then there's the Meta Quest 3‚ which isn't nearly as impressive as Apple's spatial computer. It's also still pretty pricey at $499. If you want a VR headset that's actually affordable‚ you should definitely check out the Meta Quest 2 instead — especially while it's on sale at the best price ever. As you may or may not know‚ Meta recently cut the price of the Quest 2 so that the 128GB model is just $249 and the 256GB version is $349. That's an excellent value‚ but there's a sale right now that saves you even more money. You can currently pick up the 128GB Meta Quest 2 for an all-time low of $199 at Amazon or Walmart. Or‚ you can upgrade to the 256GB model for $292 instead of $349. Those are the best prices I've seen this year for the most popular VR headset you can buy. Meta Quest 2 — Advanced All-In-One Virtual Reality Headset — 128 GB Price: $199 (reg. $249) You Save: $50.99 (20%) Buy Now Meta Quest 2 — Advanced All-In-One Virtual Reality Headset — 256 GB Price: $292 (reg. $349) Buy Now Meta's Quest 2 is nowhere near as advanced as Apple's Vision Pro headset. That should go without saying‚ of course. Comparing a $3‚499 mixed reality headset to a $249 VR headset is like comparing a Rolls Royce to a Honda Civic. Yes‚ they both have four wheels and two pedals‚ but the similarities end there. Apple showed off so many cool Vision Pro features during WWDC‚ and we've seen so much more since the headset was released. I haven't tried one yet myself‚ but you can read BGR's Vision Pro review to learn all about it. The mixed reality features look fantastic‚ and the theater mode with different environments could be so cool. The idea of watching a movie on a 100-inch screen in the middle of a realistic-looking forest is awesome. At the same time‚ however‚ I'm not sure how realistic some of Apple's use cases are for me‚ personally. Do I really want to sit through a 2+ hour movie with that thing strapped to my face? Do I want to watch that movie alone‚ since obviously no one else can see what's happening inside my headset? And working on three virtual screens looks cool‚ but the idea of spending a 10+ hour workday with a headset on seems outlandish. I think the Meta Quest 2 is more my speed‚ and you can currently get one on sale for as little as $249 at Amazon or Walmart. Meta Quest 2 — Advanced All-In-One Virtual Reality Headset — 128 GB Price: $199 (reg. $249) You Save: $50.99 (20%) Buy Now Meta Quest 2 — Advanced All-In-One Virtual Reality Headset — 256 GB Price: $292 (reg. $349) Buy Now I have a ton of fun when I use the Meta Quest 2. It might not show people a digital rendering of my eyes when they walk by‚ but it does have a ton of fun games and other experiences. There's also the little difference that it only costs $249 instead of $3‚499. No‚ the Meta Quest 2 isn't a futuristic MR headset like the Vision Pro. It doesn't have any of the same advanced tech‚ and it doesn't have most of the nifty features that Apple showed off during its WWDC keynote. But Meta's Quest 2 is great for light VR gaming and other fun VR experiences. At $199 in brand-new condition‚ it's a fantastic value. Or‚ if you're willing to spend another $93‚ you can pick up the 256GB model for $292‚ down from $349. Those are both the lowest prices I've ever seen. Of note‚ there's still an opportunity to save if you miss this sale. Amazon has "Renewed Premium" Meta Quest 2 headsets available with decent discounts‚ so you can still save some money once the aforementioned sale ends. These Quest 2 models are guaranteed to look and perform like new‚ or you have 90 days to get your money back. You can see the current Renewed Premium deals down below. Meta Quest 2 - Advanced All-in-One Virtual Reality Headset - 128 GB (Renewed Premium) Price: $229.99 Buy Now Meta Quest 2 - Advanced All-in-One Virtual Reality Headset - 256 GB (Renewed Premium) Price: $269.99 Buy Now Don't Miss: Amazon Big Spring Sale: 40 best-selling deals you need to see The post Meta Quest 2 is the headset to get if you can’t afford a $3‚499 Apple Vision Pro appeared first on BGR. New Apple Pencil might work with Vision Pro‚ which sounds weird but is actually genius

A rumor suggests a new Apple Pencil could work with Apple Vision Pro. With that‚ this iPad accessory could make the drawing experience even more intimate while unlocking new capabilities. According to MacRumors‚ citing a source familiar with the matter‚ Apple has internally tested a new Apple Pencil with visionOS support. At this moment‚ it's unclear if this could be the long-rumored Apple Pencil 3‚ which is expected to be introduced alongside the OLED iPad Pro with Find My support and‚ possibly‚ interchangeable tips. In addition‚ this feature could also be related to visionOS 2. We also don't know much about this software‚ except for Bloomberg's Mark Gurman saying it will come this year‚ and it's currently codenamed Constellation. MacRumors says that one possibility is that "users would be able to draw with the Apple Pencil on a desk or another flat surface‚ and the drawing would appear in the open visionOS app." This giant canvas is only a supposition by the publication‚ but Apple might integrate the iPad with Vision Pro similarly to what it does with the Mac. Apple Vision Pro as a Mac display. Image source: Apple Inc. Currently‚ Mac users can connect their display with Vision Pro to rearrange their screen whenever they want. If Apple expands support for iPad‚ maybe users of this spatial computer could use the tablet as a flat surface‚ but the Apple Pencil drawing would appear in this infinite canvas in front of your eyes. This new Apple Pencil integration could benefit Freeform and Pixelmator apps. MacRumors has also recently shared that Freeform is set for an update with iOS 18. The publication says there’s a new “Freeform Scenes” feature coming with iOS 18‚ which will help with board navigation. Users will be able to select‚ edit‚ name‚ and collaborate with scenes. The Freeform Scenes UI will be located near the zoom controls. With a new sandwich bar‚ it will display individual arrow icons for navigation between scenes. Apple is even preparing keyboard shortcuts for this feature. That said‚ it seems it won't be long until we learn more about a future Apple Pencil and this possible integration with Vision Pro‚ as the new iPad Pro can come as soon as April‚ and WWDC is in June.
