WaPo Retracts Unverified Hamas Smear Of Israel

The Washington Post admitted to significant errors in its reporting on Israel and Gaza on Tuesday, deleting a social media post and correcting an article that unfairly maligned Israel’s military. The newspaper admitted to its fault in another social media post explaining that an article from Sunday fell short of the Post’s “fairness standards.” The reporting covered a disputed incident outside a Gaza aid center in which the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry accused Israel of gunning down civilians. The Israel Defense Forces have denied the claim. “The article failed to make clear if attributing the deaths to Israel was the position of the Gaza health ministry or a fact verified by The Post,” the correction says. “The article and headline were updated on Sunday evening making it clear that there was no consensus about who was responsible for the shootings and that there was a dispute over that question.” “While statements from Israel that it was unaware of injuries and that an initial inquiry indicated its soldiers didn’t fire at civilians near the site were included in all versions, The Post didn’t give proper weight to Israel’s denial and gave improper certitude about what was known about any Israeli role in the shootings,” it continued. “The early versions fell short of Post standards of fairness and should not have been published in that form.” Correction: We’ve deleted the post below because it and early versions of the article didn’t meet Post fairness standards. Gaza Health Ministry officials and some Palestinian bystanders accused Israeli soldiers of firing into an early morning crowd that was traveling to a Gaza aid center. The health ministry said that at least 31 people were killed and another 170 were wounded. Get 40% Off New DailyWire+ Annual Memberships The Israeli military and the aid organization that operates the center, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, have denied the claims. The Israeli military said that Israeli soldiers at one point fired warning shots into the air “to prevent several suspects from approaching” them overnight. The military said that there was “no connection between this incident and the false claims made against the IDF.” The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has denied that any such incident took place outside the aid center. The foundation has released video that reportedly showed an uneventful Sunday morning except for one incident of tracer fire in the distance. “There was no gunfire in the center and also not in the surrounding area,” the foundation said in a statement. “All aid was distributed today without incident. We have heard that these fake reports have been actively fomented by Hamas. They are untrue and fabricated.”

The Best They/Them Can Get: Woke Brands Can’t Help But Celebrate Pride

The Best They/Them Can Get: Woke Brands Can’t Help But Celebrate Pride

It’s June again, which means despite mountains of indisputable evidence – massive boycotts, woke Disney flops, and the re-election of President Donald Trump – certain organizations can’t help but whip out their pride flags and virtue signal to the masses. This cringe-fest is especially dominating the world of sports. As a prime example, the New England Patriots made their contribution to the rainbow parade with a June 1 post declaring “We celebrate together” alongside a pride flag emoji. The accompanying photo showed a gigantic progress pride flag, which includes an arrow of colors to represent “people of color” and the trans community.  We celebrate together ?️‍? pic.twitter.com/TfltyYpTnz — New England Patriots (@Patriots) June 1, 2025 This image was snapped at Gillette Stadium just outside Boston, the full-time home of the NFL team. Over in the realm of baseball, 29 out of 30 MLB teams have plans to celebrate Pride month. Is anyone even pretending sports are about sports anymore? Patriots plus Gillette is a fitting matchup considering that the personal care brand has been drunk on the pro-trans agenda Kool-Aid for years. In 2019, they released an ad featuring a father teaching his “transgender” child how to shave. As the biological female tentatively begins the process, the child’s father says, “Now don’t be scared. Shaving is about being confident. You are doing fine.” And at this point, it’s almost cliche to mention Gillette’s infamous “toxic masculinity” ad from the same year. The best a man can get? More like the best they/them can get.  It’s all so exhausting, especially when the public keeps indicating that they’re fed up with the propaganda. That’s why Jeremy’s came into existence in the first place: because Harry’s Razors made the cowardly decision to pull all their ad dollars when one Daily Wire podcast guest (correctly) called gender dysphoria a “mental illness.” Remember when razors were just razors? When they got the job done without lecturing you about your masculinity or guilt-tripping you into a corporate-sponsored identity crisis? At Jeremy’s, we’re still living in the good old days and laughing at the proliferation of pride flags no one wants to see. The public already said they want it, but it doesn’t seem as though other businesses will be catching on anytime soon. For anyone seeking an unapologetic, no-nonsense alternative for razors and personal care products, Jeremy’s is here with a return to sanity.  Switch to Jeremy’s Razors for only $7.99 to get a close, comfortable shave without compromising your standards. No lectures. No LGBTQIA+whatever pandering. Just a damn good shave – the kind that reminds you you’re a man, not a mascot for some corporate pride campaign. Try Jeremy’s for 30 days risk-free. Looking for more? Get up to 47% off Jeremy’s Razors and gift bundles for Father’s Day — a real holiday in June, unlike “Pride.” At Jeremy’s, we offer men a clean shave and a clear message: masculinity isn’t toxic, and you’re not a bigot for skipping the woke parade. Jeremy’s Razors shares common ownership with The Daily Wire.

LESS WOKE, MORE LETHAL: Military Hits Major Milestones Under Trump And Hegseth

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and President Donald Trump have both promised to foster and lead a United States Military that is less woke and more lethal than it has been in recent years, and reports published on Tuesday indicated that they have been hard at work on both fronts. Military.com reported on Tuesday that Hegseth had ordered the U.S. Navy to strip the name of Harvey Milk from an oiler class ship. The ship was named for Milk, a gay rights activist, in 2016 by former President Barack Obama’s Navy Secretary Ray Mabus. Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) lashed out at Hegseth over the move, saying, “Erasing Harvey Milk’s name is disgusting, blatant discrimination—and during Pride Month to boot. He served the U.S. Navy and his country honorably, and he was assassinated while serving the public and fighting for LGBTQ+ rights. Hegseth should be ashamed of himself and reverse this immediately.” Erasing Harvey Milk’s name is disgusting, blatant discrimination—and during Pride Month to boot. I want to thank the Commander in Chief, President Trump, and Secretary of Defense Hegseth for their decisive leadership and support which helped make this feat possible. I’m also extremely proud of the recruiters, leaders, and other advocates who helped us smash this goal. America’s young women and men are proud of our country and want to serve in the U.S. Army and the results speak for themselves.” While the U.S. Army has met its retention goals for the last seven years, 2025 marks just the second year in a row that it also met recruitment goals for new enlistees.

‘Divisive, Far-Left Agenda’: City In Deep-Red State Adopts ‘Pride’ Flag As Official City Banner

A liberal enclave on the western edge of the deep-red state of Montana is pushing LGBT “Pride” to new heights. The Missoula, Montana, City Council voted 9-2 on Monday night to make the “Pride” flag the city’s official flag. The move flies in the face of a recent bill signed into law in Montana that bans “Pride” flags from being flown on government property and schools. “Currently, there is only one official flag for the City of Missoula, and that’s the Pride flag adopted last night. There was no prior official flag,” Missoula City Attorney Ryan Sudbury told NBC Montana. Missoula’s “Pride” flag designation is already reflected on the Wikipedia page about the city. Screenshot: Wikipedia Montana Republican Gov. Greg Gianforte blasted the city council’s move in a statement shared with The Daily Wire. “Last night, nine members of the Missoula City Council made clear their top priority is flying a divisive pride flag over government buildings and schools — all while ignoring the city’s housing affordability crisis, raising taxes by 17% because of over spending, and refusing to take firm action to end encampments in the city,” Gianforte said. “Missoulians deserve better, and fortunately, two council members voted against imposing this divisive, far-left agenda on their community.” The sponsor of the resolution, Jennifer Savage — who identifies as queer — pointed to her daughter as a reason she pursued designating the “Pride” flag the city’s official flag. Get 40% Off New DailyWire+ Annual Memberships “When I see the Pride flag, I breathe a little sigh of relief and think my kid is safe here,” Savage said. Last month, Montana Republican Gov. Greg Gianforte signed HB 819 into law, prohibiting the display of flags on state property that represent a “political viewpoint, including but not limited to flags or banners regarding a political party, race, sexual orientation, gender, or political ideology.” Missoula, however, appears to have found a loophole in the law that allows cities to fly an official municipal flag, according to KPAX. With the city council’s vote on Monday night, the “Pride” flag now meets that designation. “Leave it to Missoula to try and turn a city flag into a pride flag. Nothing says ‘unity’ like politicizing public property,” said Republican state Rep. Braxton Mitchell. “The ultra far left Missoula City Council and their mayor are completely out of touch with reality and the values of the vast majority of Montanans. Taxpayer owned property should represent everyone, not just the loudest political movements of the moment.” Missoula County voted overwhelmingly for Kamala Harris over Donald Trump in 2024, 59% to 38%, while former Democratic Sen. John Tester received 66% of the vote in Missoula to just 32% for Republican Tim Sheehy. Trump and Sheehy went on to win the state. Missoula is also represented at the state level by Zooey Zephyr, a man who identifies as a woman. In 2023, Zephyr was censured by the Republican-controlled Montana House of Representatives for an outburst over a ban on gender procedures on minors. “The only thing I will say is if you vote yes on this bill and yes on these amendments, I hope the next time there’s an invocation when you bow your heads in prayer, you see the blood on your hands,” Zephyr said. Rep Zooey Zephyr of Missoula said the following when debating SB99 Amendments. “The only thing I will say is if you vote yes on this bill and yes on these amendments I hope the next time there’s an invocation when you bow your heads in prayer, you see the blood on your hands.” pic.twitter.com/wuhlympbLq — Montana Freedom Caucus (@MTFreedomCaucus) April 18, 2023 Montana banned gender procedures on children in 2023, but the law was blocked by a state district court judge in Missoula, and the state’s Supreme Court upheld that preliminary injunction in December.

Jobs Up. Borders Closed. Trump’s Second Term Is Just Getting Started.

Editor’s note: This is a lightly edited transcript of today’s video from Daily Signal Senior Contributor Victor Davis Hanson. Subscribe to our YouTube channel to see more of his videos. Hello, this is Victor Davis Hanson for The Daily Signal. We’re at four months now in the new Trump second administration. And a strange thing has happened. If you look at the polls, after diving for President Donald Trump with the announcement that he was going to subject certain countries to high tariffs—which panicked the stock market. Now, the stock market’s almost recovered, or has recovered, all of its lost. It went down a little bit when Trump said he was going to continue the tariffs, to force the European Union to have reciprocal treatment toward the United States. But nevertheless, Trump in the RealClearPolitics averages—which to be fair, have a preponderance of left-wing polls—is still only about a point, point and a half down. But in other polls, Rasmussen, he’s either even or he is a couple of points ahead. And yet, all of the media and all of the major organs on the Left, but even in the center and Right—The Wall Street Journal, to take another example we’ve discussed—they have been uniformly negative. So, how in the world is Donald Trump—and Donald Trump has not been reticent. He has tweeted all sorts of things about, you know, Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift and Canada—things that were very controversial. How can he be almost equal and much higher than he was at his first term at this time? And the answer is twofold. No. 1 is what he’s doing. Every time people say we’re headed for a recession or his trade war is gonna tank the economy, data comes out. This week, it was the corporate profits were unusually high, strong. It came out that we’re not in a housing recession, that housing sales are steady. Inflation is down. Energy prices are way down. Economic growth is up. Joblessness is down. So, that is one reason. The second is Donald Trump has been touring the world. And you can call it mercantilism but essentially, the Trump doctrine is we’re not going to get into optional military engagements on the ground anywhere and we’re going to have our relations be transactional. So, even our enemies—to the degree it’s even possible—we’re gonna try to find some mechanism by which we can stop wars. Maybe rare earth mineral corridor in Ukraine or maybe we’re dangling an end of sanctions for Iran—I don’t think that’s going to work. But the point is people appreciate the idea that Trump, first, is trying to exhaust peaceful avenues before he uses force. And he’s trying to address the theater wars that former President Joe Biden left him in Ukraine and the Middle East. The economy is strong. The border is 99% closed. We’ve gone from over 150,000 entries down to less than 8,000, in many places fewer. The wall is going to be continued. The Border Patrol is increased. The deportations, despite the court orders, continue. So, the things that he’s doing are very popular, especially to the working classes: black, white, Hispanic. They like cheap gas prices. They like news that there’s going to be $8 to $10 trillion of investment and new jobs and assembly manufacturing in the United States. They like the idea that we’re cutting unnecessary funds for government and we’re not touching Social Security. They like the idea that Trump is trying to reduce taxes on the middle class in terms of Social Security or tips. But there’s another facet. And that is not Trump, but the people who despise Trump and are attacking Trump. When the electorate looks at that and they say, “Well, Trump—I like everything he’s doing but I don’t like what he said about Canada. It just kind of bothers me.” Or, “I don’t like him lowering himself to attacking Bruce Springsteen, in kind.” Yes. But what is the alternative? Well, the alternative is the Left is glorifying a murderer, Luigi Mangione. And the campuses will not, cannot, do not want to stop the antisemitism. So, we see foreign guests with masks on who continue to use violence and vandalize our campuses. Now we have two wonderful Israeli citizens who have been murdered. And doesn’t seem that anybody in the core base of the Democratic Party is objecting at all. This comes on the heels of attacks on Tesla. This comes on the heels of this strange Democratic reaction to Trump, where they use almost pornographic language: “s—,” the F-word. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz can’t give a speech without either comparing Trump to Hitler or calling him some pejorative. The result of all this is when they look to the Democratic alternative, there is no alternative. There’s no explanation why they opened the border. There’s no explanation, opposition to what Trump is doing. Why aren’t they saying, “We like an open border. Stop it, Donald Trump”? They’re not even doing that. They’re not presenting any positive, constructive alternative. There is no shadow government. There is nobody in the Democratic Party that is popular. Not Tim Walz. Not former Vice President Kamala Harris. Not Sen. Chuck Schumer. Not even Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Especially not Rep. Jasmine Crockett. I mean popular to the American people in general. And so, when you add the fact that the economic news is pretty good and there’s a lot of initiatives on the horizon—peace initiatives, foreign investment initiatives, trade initiatives. And when you look at the people around Trump—Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent—they’re very good. And when they go before Congress, they’re calm, they’re rational, they’re data-driven. The Democratic senators who press them and inquire of them and mock them are usually poorly prepared, hysterical, angry, and make fools of themselves. Add it all up: Things are going pretty good in the country. Donald Trump is a whirlwind. He’s staging a counterrevolution. And most of the issues that he’s trying to undo of the progressive project, the public supports him. And his Democratic opposition—four months into his tenure—has still completely lost its mind and not only does not offer an alternative agenda, but personally, emotionally, psychologically puts people off. They do not like the way that they’re talking. They do not like the way they’re acting. And they don’t like them in general. We publish a variety of perspectives. Nothing written here is to be construed as representing the views of The Daily Signal. The post Jobs Up. Borders Closed. Trump’s Second Term Is Just Getting Started. appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Energy-Intensive Manufacturing in US a Victim of ‘Giant Sucking Sound’ From China

American manufacturing has fallen victim to a “giant sucking sound,” according to an expert on energy and climate.   There is a “a giant sucking sound of energy-intensive manufacturing leaving the West and going to China,” Diana Furchtgott-Roth, director of the Center for Energy, Climate, and Environment at The Heritage Foundation, told The Daily Signal.   The prevalence of the green energy agenda has moved a significant portion of energy production to China, which, according to Furchtgott-Roth, has resulted in the West “committing economic suicide.”   The West’s “green energy policies cost billions of dollars annually and are driving up Western electricity prices,” she said. “Since China produces about 75% of wind components, solar panels, and batteries, the West is forced to go to China to feed its green habit.”   But energy production is not the only manufacturing field at which China is excelling.   China’s robust military manufacturing industry has been strategically growing for years while America’s is languishing.   “With more than 2 million active military personnel, the People’s Liberation Army remains one of the world’s largest militaries, and its days of largely obsolescent equipment are in the past,” according to The Heritage Foundation’s 2024 Index of U.S. Military Strength.   Take shipbuilding, for example. In 2024, China’s largest shipbuilder built more commercial ships by tonnage than the U.S. has built since World War II, according to the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington, D.C.-based think tank. Foreign nations are buying ships from China, stimulating China’s economy and ability to develop naval technology.   Furthermore, China’s commercial and military ship production are integrated, “giving its People’s Liberation Army Navy access to infrastructure, investment, and intellectual property acquired from commercial contracts,” according to the think tank.   “In March 2023, China announced a draft defense budget of $224.79 billion, an increase of 7.2%, marking the eighth consecutive year of single-digit increases,” according to Heritage’s index.  While the U.S. still has more military destroyer vessels, submarines, and ground attack aircraft, China is quickly catching up, and in some cases has more modernized equipment than the U.S.   Recent reporting from The Wall Street Journal found that while the U.S. has about 1,000 more ground attack aircraft than China, the planes China has are almost entirely advanced or modern, while more than one-third of the U.S. planes are considered “old equipment.”   Beyond energy and military manufacturing, China’s electronic manufacturing sector is twice as large as America’s.   President Donald Trump has taken aggressive actions against China since taking office. After Trump slapped a 145% tariff on goods imported into the U.S. from China, a deal was reached in March to lower the tariffs to 30% for 90 days while the two nations engaged in negotiations. But on Monday, China accused the U.S. of undermining the trade agreement after Trump on Friday accused China of having “totally violated its agreement with us.”  Negotiations over tariffs between the two nations continue as Reuters reported Tuesday that China’s factory activity shrank in May for the first time in eight months.   The post Energy-Intensive Manufacturing in US a Victim of ‘Giant Sucking Sound’ From China appeared first on The Daily Signal.
