Disney Studios just experienced a massive shakeup as top exec Sean Bailey‚ the man behind multiple live-action film adaptations‚ leaves his role effective immediately. Bailey‚ the former President of Motion Picture Studios‚ was the driving force behind animation to live-action projects‚ including “The Lion King” ($1.66 billion in global revenue)‚ “Beauty and the Beast” ($1.2 billion)‚ “Aladdin” ($1.05 billion) and “The Jungle Book” ($962 million)‚ plus others‚ per Deadline. Bailey is the exec behind more than $7 billion in box office earnings. He began his tenure with Disney as a producer on “Tron Legacy” in 2010. After stepping down from his role as a top exec‚ he’ll now finish out his time at the House of Mouse as a producer on “Tron: Ares” before exiting the studio completely. Jewish students at University of California-Berkeley were forced to evacuate to a secret location after hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters stormed an event featuring an Israeli Defense Forces reservist on Monday night.  The “Israel at War: Combat the Lies” event was supposed to feature Ran Bar-Yoshafat‚ who served for several weeks within Gaza in an IDF special forces unit. He added that the event had been moved several times leading up to Monday because of security concerns. When he arrived at the room to begin the event‚ he said about 40 student protesters — many of which were masked with keffiyehs — entered with hundreds more outside the building. Videos provided to The Daily Wire show students banging on doors and windows‚ breaking glass‚ chanting “intifada‚ intifada” and accusing Bar-Yoshafat of genocide in chants. Witnesses told The Daily Wire that they believe around 200 to 500 students were part of the protest.  In one of the videos‚ a Jewish student says he was spat on by someone shouting‚ “You Jew.”  “I just felt really bad for these kids because they were scared‚” Bar-Yoshafat said. “Girls were crying from being attacked and I think the kid that was spat on was just so shocked. I don’t think the students anticipated so many people being violent‚ they thought they would just chant outside.” Bar-Yoshafat‚ who was invited by various Jewish student groups‚ said he wanted to go on speaking despite the disrupters but he was asked to leave by school officials.  “Instead of giving more security to us‚ they gave a prize to those who were violent‚” he said. “They basically said those banging on doors and spitting on Jews are allowed to continue but I had to leave even though I was just peacefully speaking.” Bar-Yoshafat and the students were escorted away with many protesters following him. Once they made it off campus‚ they quickly scrambled to find a new secret location to continue the event. “Berkeley is on the wrong side of history and it’s not a safe place for Jews anymore‚” he added. Berkely’s anti-Israel student group‚ “Bears for Palestine‚” announced its plan to shut down the event on their Instagram on Sunday. “Shut it down: Genocidal murderers out of Berkeley‚” the graphic read‚ along with a photo of Bar-Yoshafat with photoshopped red eyes.  “In October of 2023‚ Ran Bar-Yoshafat was serving in the IOF partaking in the obliteration of Gaza and extermination of Palestinians‚” the caption read‚ referring to the IDF as the Israeli Occupation Forces. “This individual is dangerous.” “Ran Bar-Yoshafat has Palestinian blood on his hands‚” it continued. “He has committed crimes against humanity‚ is a genocide denier‚ and we will not allow for this event to go on.” Videos show the students chanting “Yoshafat you can’t hide‚ we charge you with genocide.” Ran Bar-Yoshafat left duty at the beginning of the Israel-Hamas war to get married before returning to combat. The classic musical film “Mary Poppins” has been changed to a “PG” rating in the United Kingdom due to perceived “discriminatory language.” The British Board of Film Classification changed the Disney movie’s rating from U‚ meaning universal (equivalent to a G rating in the U.S.)‚ to PG‚ meaning parental guidance is suggested. “Mary Poppins” has “two uses of the discriminatory term ‘hottentots‚'” a BBFC spokesperson told USA TODAY of the change‚ noting how colonizers of South Africa used the term to refer to the indigenous Khoekhoe people. It’s now considered a racial slur. “While ‘Mary Poppins’ has a historical context‚ the use of discriminatory language is not condemned‚ and ultimately exceeds our guidelines for acceptable language at U‚” the spokesperson said of the decision. “We therefore classified the film PG for discriminatory language.” In “Mary Poppins‚” the character Admiral Boom (Reginald Owen) sees the soot-covered faces of the chimney sweeps and uses the term to describe them. Admiral Boom also asks Michael (Matthew Garber) if he plans to go on an adventure to “defeat hottentots.” The change comes as the movie is about to be re-released in the U.K. for its 60th anniversary‚ the outlet noted. “We understand from our racism and discrimination research‚ and recent classification guidelines research‚ that a key concern for people‚ parents in particular‚ is the potential to expose children to discriminatory language or behavior which they may find distressing or repeat without realizing the potential offense‚” the BBFC spokesperson added. So far‚ this change only affects “Mary Poppins” in the U.K. The film still has a G rating in the United States. Several older Disney films in recent years have been given disclaimers due to speech and scenes that the studio deemed potentially offensive. Democrats in the Virginia state Senate derailed a hearing on Monday after the state’s lieutenant governor absentmindedly responded “yes sir” to an inquiry from deep-voiced Sen. Danica Roem‚ a man who believes he is a woman. “Madam president‚ how many votes would it take to pass this bill with the emergency clause?” Rohm asked Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears‚ a Republican‚ about a mundane bill that was being voted on. “That would be four-fifths‚” replied Sears‚ who as lieutenant governor presides over the Senate. “And what would be the exact number for that madam president?” Rohm added. “Yes‚ sir‚ that would be 32‚” Sears said as she looked through papers. “Those in favor of that motion shall record their votes aye‚” she said‚ calling the vote. Roem stormed out and missed the vote. A shout could be heard as he was leaving‚ though it wasn’t clear who made the sound or what it said. After the vote‚ Sears recognized Sen. Ghazala Hashmi‚ whose turn it was to describe the next bill. But Hashmi would not speak. Several Democrat senators began leaving the room. Sen. It is named after Sage‚ a girl who was trafficked from rural Virginia to Baltimore and raped by a registered sex offender after going through trouble at school that her parents knew nothing about‚ and after school staff allegedly repeatedly encouraged her to transition. After the FBI rescued her from the sex trafficker‚ Baltimore placed her into a group home full of Baltimore’s roughest male youths. After her mother rescued her‚ she later said she was not actually transgender.

Japanese scientists have recently started researching the “gaikotsupandahoya‚” or skeleton panda sea squirt‚ after divers discovered the bizarre animal and posted photos online. Affectionately nicknamed by the internet‚ Japan’s new species has garnered a fair amount of attention due to their oddly endearing appearance. These unique sea squirts have see-through bodies with white blood vessels that look like tiny skeletons‚ while their black markings resemble little panda faces! Scientists published their findings on Feb 1‚ according to WKRC Local 12. This paper on Japan’s new species includes the scientific name for these creatures: Clavelina ossipandae. “The white parts that look like bones are the blood vessels that run horizontally through the sea squirts’ gills‚” says Naohiro Hasegawa‚ one of the authors. “The black parts on the head that look like a panda’s eyes and nose are just a pattern‚ and we don’t really know why the pattern is there.” Internet users everywhere are becoming obsessed with footage of the skeleton panda sea squirt. In fact‚ many people are comparing their unique appearance to fantasy creatures from video games and anime movies! “They definitely belong in a Studio Ghibli film‚” wrote one commenter on YouTube. Another added‚ “Looks like Elden Beast (Elden Ring) and Spirit of the Forest (Princess Mononoke). When an abandoned Dalmatian named River was rescued by a local shelter‚ she was in bad shape. This poor pooch had been tied to a pole in a nearby park and left there. Even after the shelter took her in‚ River was so anxious that she wouldn’t stop chewing her own foot. Eventually‚ it became hard for her to walk on it! What this rescue dog really needed was a permanent home‚ so the organization called up the one guy they thought could help: Lee Asher‚ founder of Asher House. Unfortunately‚ one of River’s top triggers seemed to be men. Shelter workers weren’t sure how she would respond to being adopted by a man. However‚ it wasn’t long before Lee Asher worked his magic on the rescue Dalmatian. He was pretty sure it must have been a man that abused and abandoned her‚ so he was very patient as he tried to convince the pooch that he wasn’t a threat. Eventually‚ River the rescue dog was ready to get in the car with her new human and drive all the way to Asher House! During the several hour road trip‚ Lee Asher reported that the Dalmatian rescue was doing much better. Not only had she calmed down a lot‚ but she even felt comfortable enough to fall asleep! By the time the pair arrived at Asher house‚ the sweet pup had a new name: Rain.
