A Chaffee‚ Missouri man gets out of bed to investigate a bright light in the hallway. After what should have been a brief absence of a few minutes‚ it resulted in 45 minutes of lost time.I received the following account:"Hi‚ Lon. I figured I would submit my weird experience that I had several years ago. My wife‚ kids‚ and I were living in government housing and had just moved into a larger apartment across the road from where we were living. We upgraded from a 2 to 3 bedroom apartment. I would like to note that the housing where I am from is actually really nicely kept up and is more of an older folks community rather than a slum that housing is notorious for. We loved living there. This was in Chaffee‚ Missouri which is in Southeast Missouri in northern Scott County. We moved in the week of Christmas 2020 or 2021‚ I can't remember exactly because those years get me confused because we had so much going on and we only lived there about 18 months before getting a house.So one night the kids were asleep and me and the wife were in bed. She was asleep and I was playing on my phone. The bed was situated so that I could see into the hall from the bed‚ the end of the bed was across from the door. Note this was around 1:30 AM. As I played on my phone I started to see a bright glowing light coming from down the hall‚ I told my wife I was going to check it out as I thought maybe it was my computer that was in the living room. I got up‚ went down the hall‚ looked around‚ and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. I went to the bathroom and then got back in bed. In total‚ this took maybe 2 minutes. The apartment was small‚ and you could see everything in just a minute or so.When I got back in bed I got back on my phone‚ and that's when I noticed the time. It was 2:15 AM. I had been gone for 45 minutes. My wife was fast asleep and snoring‚ I woke her up and asked her how long I had been gone‚ she didn't know and was still half asleep. Looking back at this situation I still can not explain how I was gone for such a long time without‚ as I remember the event clearly and there were no gaps from the time I got up‚ looked around‚ went to the bathroom‚ and got back in bed. Thanks for letting me share. In 2018‚ I was made aware of two strange and somewhat similar daylight accounts from Chicago. One was from a podcast and the other was from a witness who contacted me.Alex called into the Monsters Among Us Podcast to talk about a sighting he had on March 19‚ 2018:“The Monday before last‚ which I believe was the 19th of March‚ I was driving from the Noble Square area of Chicago‚ somewhat on the north side to the southwest side of the city to stop by my parent's house. This was around noon and as I was getting onto I-94‚ the Expressway at the Milwaukee on-ramp. I was cut off by a firetruck and ambulance as they were going to tend to an accident. And‚ as such‚ I ended up sitting in accident traffic where I literally just put the car in park and just sat. And as I sat there‚ all of a sudden‚ there was this black‚ somewhat triangular‚ as if it was a low pyramid‚ a low wide pyramid‚ started hovering from the left of my view‚ which was near the skyline was over the expressway and eventually out of sight to the right. But it went back and forth quite a few times.I originally assumed it was a kite or a balloon. The kite part though just doesn't work because there's nowhere for someone to stand and control it. Perhaps it was a kite that got away but it was moving in a controlled fashion. It was completely black. I thought I noticed a glint of light off of it a couple of times like it was something metallic reflecting which made me think it was Mylar. If it was just a Mylar balloon but again it was moving in such a controlled way‚ it really kinda started tripping me out. Of course‚ you can't really gauge size in situations like that. We know that. But it seemed huge especially compared to some of the lake gulls or birds that were flying somewhat in the same vicinity. What really tripped me out though in the end‚ and this was a good 30 seconds of staring at this...maybe a little less than that‚ was when I realized it was hovering right over this car accident. And with everything you hear about the Silver Bridge collapse and all the stuff in Point Pleasant‚ it made the hair on my arms stand up.I'll be very honest. I don't know that anything was truly Mothman-ish but I wonder if it wasn't a drone of some sort and if had more to do with the person or persons who have been hoaxing this. I have no idea. I have absolutely no idea what it actually was but it certainly did trip me out. To a degree‚ I consider myself a very rational person. A thoughtful person. And‚ again‚ very skeptical‚ so I have trouble accepting that it was a flying humanoid cryptid hovering over an accident scene but I don't know what to make of it‚ you know. I'm hoping that maybe somebody else has seen this. That somebody else has a conclusive explanation. Again this was Monday before last. So it believe that was the 19th of March right after St. Patrick's Day‚ a couple of days after. It was right around probably 12:30 PM‚ afternoon. It was pretty sunny out‚ a little windy which is probably an important fact to note but‚ again‚ very black with possibly a glint of light that was reflecting off of it as if there was something metallic or shiny on it. When it caught the sun it seemed to glint‚ at least twice that I noticed. And again‚ it was kind of a low wide pyramid shape. It's just gliding in the same space and then like blinking/moving up &; down. The girls are startled‚ me too. I've never seen something like this before. The driver suggested it's a black plastic bag. "That big‚ that high?" said the girl‚ "and moving like this? Nah!"Coming back home‚ I checked online if anybody saw something weird in the sky as I did today. And I found many articles about the infamous Chicago Mothman.I shivered a bit after reading this and stepped on the deck of my building just to check the sky status. I am French‚ I just moved recently to Chicago 4 months ago‚ and I NEVER heard such story of Mothman until I started my research online. A member of the Modoc National Forest firefighter service recalls his crew finding a large Bigfoot print‚ and contacting their supervisor who attempted to cast the print.“In 1982‚ I was a seasonal firefighter from the Modoc National Forest. It's extreme in northeastern California. Rather remote‚ kind of near the Oregon border‚ up near Klamath Falls Lava Beds National Monument. Anyway‚ small four-man fire crew and the boss. He lived in a little trailer adjacent to our old cabin‚ right on Medicine Lake. There had been this Native American fella that had been hanging around for weeks‚ experienced with firefighting and whatnot. He kept thinking he could get on the crew‚ but the protocol was such that you had to do it all in advance. And we had our little crew. All four of us and there was no chance he could be on it but he kind of‚ wouldn't take no for an answer. This was the US Forest Service Department of Agriculture Forest Service. Small fire crew. So we're all familiar with this fella. Can't remember his name anymore and‚ you know‚ we're up early in the morning doing the...they call them the PTs - physical exercise and all.Getting ready for the day and he's up with us‚ again‚ trying to join us. And he goes‚ 'Hey look what I found here.' And he takes us out to the edge of Medicine Lake and there's this huge footprint but just one. It must be 18 to 20 inches long‚ 6 inches wide and it's like‚ 'Okay' and then we're all‚ 'Where's the next one?' But‚ yeah‚ the next one was down on the swampy edge of the lake.So that kind of made sense‚ you know‚ that there was only one‚ odd as that was. And the boss there‚ the crew boss. He says‚ 'Boy‚ this is strange fellas‚ just last night.' Sometimes he'd have his little four-year-old up there‚ spending the night in this trailer. He goes‚ 'My son woke me up in the middle of the night saying‚ Daddy! Daddy! Bigfoot's out there!' He just brushed it off until a couple hours later‚ there was a print and it caused enough interest - everyone who was pretty skeptical I think.It caused enough interest‚ we called the Big Cheese‚ the District Ranger‚ they call him...an hour and a half away at Tule Lake. He comes up. An hour and a half up‚ four-wheel drive‚ pretty rough roads‚ you know‚ one way up‚ like that. He comes up and he's quite interested. He's trying to take a print of it‚ a plaster cast. I'm watching him do this and when I was a kid growing up‚ I did this stuff all the time. I'm watching. I'm thinking like that's not gonna work because it was too watered down. But I was‚ like‚ almost a kid‚ I was in my young 20s‚ one my first big jobs of that nature which I continued doing‚ you know‚ most of my working life. I was like‚ I was too intimidated to say to the big boss man‚ you know‚ the District Ranger‚ 'Hey‚ you're screwing it up‚ pal.' Put more plaster there‚ whatever it is‚ which is exactly the case. A truck driver on a rural Arkansas highway late at night observed a man dressed in a black suit standing in the middle of the road staring into the distance. The driver freaked out and kept driving.I received the following weird account:“I had something happen to me when I was an over-the-road truck driver in very rural Arkansas. I was a trainer and at about 2 o'clock in the morning‚ my student woke up‚ came through the curtain‚ and sat in the other seat. I said‚ What are you doing up? And he said‚ "Just all of a sudden I just couldn't sleep." Right about then I looked up‚ and it was very rural and there were no cars parked along the road‚ no houses‚ just forest. And somebody's standing on the white line on the freeway‚ you know‚ on the side of the road. I clicked the cruise control off and I slowed down. I started to move over into the left lane and there was a guy in a black suit and a black Fedora hat. He was just standing there‚ still looking out onto the freeway. It was really strange and I have tried over the years to rationalize what that was and I haven't been able to. There was just nothing around out there. Nothing.The really strange part was‚ I was kinda freaked out and kinda scared about it but my student‚ he was like‚ Maybe we should stop and see if he's okay. I said I'm not stopping. He was really insistent that we stop and I finally said‚ when we get about two miles down the road‚ I'll pull over‚ I'll wait about an hour. If you're not back‚ I'm leaving. He kinda hushed up then. He had this crazy sense that he needed to go to this person. I felt the opposite‚ that I needed to get the hell out of there.It was strange. I haven't told too many people but‚ yeah‚ really odd. He was looking straight off into the freeway and he didn't really move and the only way I can describe it‚ how he looked‚ was kind of like Agent Smith of The Matrix‚ you know in the suit‚ like that‚ but he was also wearing the old-style Fedora hat. As a New Yorker‚ I wish Democratic state Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan Judge Arthur Engoron would treat shoplifters‚ graffiti vandals‚ and armed robbers with just a puff of the volcanic rage with which they “get Trump.” Former President Donald Trump’s civil fraud indictment‚ trial‚ and $354.9 million penalty are an abortion of justice. That massive sum likely violates the U.S. Constitution’s Eighth Amendment requirement that there shall be no “excessive fines imposed.” Appellate judges should vacate this travesty‚ with prejudice. Why? First‚ rather than approach this case fairly‚ James campaigned for office by promising to persecute Trump.  “I will never be afraid to challenge this illegitimate president‚” James said in 2018‚ heaping election denial atop bias. “I will be shining a bright light into every dark corner of his real estate dealings.” James blends Inspector Javert’s monomaniacal bullying of recovering bread thief Jean Valjean in “Les Misérables” with‚ in spirit‚ a bill of attainder‚ which unconstitutionally hounds one specific individual. James hot-wired New York Executive Law § 63 (12) to steamroll Trump. The Associated Press scrutinized this statute across the last 68 years and concluded that “Trump’s case stands apart in a significant way: It’s the only big business found that was threatened with a shutdown without a showing of obvious victims and major losses.”  Bernard Condon’s Jan. 29 article added: “AP’s review of nearly 150 reported cases since New York’s ‘repeated fraud’ statute was passed in 1956 showed that nearly every previous time a company was taken away‚ victims and losses were key factors. Customers had lost money or bought defective products or never received services ordered‚ leaving them cheated and angry.” Rather than defend regular consumers against crooks and con artists‚ James pretends that she is protecting Trump’s lenders and insurers. Far from being vulnerable shoppers‚ these highly sophisticated financial houses employ battalions of MBAs‚ accountants‚ and lawyers who breeze through balance sheets more easily than everyday Americans flip through the Sunday papers’ coupon flyers. Rather than feel “cheated and angry‚” corporate executives testified that Trump repaid his loans‚ with interest‚ sometimes ahead of schedule. They liked him so much that they wanted to lend him more money. Retired Deutsche Bank risk manager Nicholas Haigh testified on Oct. 11 that his company independently assessed and discounted Trump’s financial declarations. “I think the phrase we used might have been ‘sanity checks’ on the numbers‚” Haigh said. When Trump borrowed $125 million for his Doral golf course in 2011‚ Deutsche Bank modified Trump’s net worth from his stated $4.3 billion down to $2.4 billion—and then lent accordingly. “It’s a conservative measure to make these adjustments‚” Managing Director David Williams testified Nov. 28‚ saying that such a “stress test” is “standard” practice. James’ case is like prosecuting an alleged serial rapist‚ whose “victims” swear under oath that he was a perfect gentleman who dined with them and then dropped them off at home‚ untouched. Last Sept. 21‚ James announced that she wanted Trump to pay $250 million in “relief.” But on Jan. 5‚ James suddenly changed her mind and demanded $370 million—up 48%. Engoron’s $355 million judgment was anything but Solomonic. He handed James 95.9% of “the baby” over which she and Trump wrestled. Now‚ if Trump does not surrender this fortune‚ and pronto‚ Kommissar James threatens to snatch his skyscrapers until she gets her hundred pounds of flesh. “If he does not have funds to pay off the judgment‚ then we will seek judgment enforcement mechanisms in court‚ and we will ask the judge to seize his assets‚” James told ABC News. “I look at 40 Wall Street each and every day.” Since Trump’s business practices injured no person or entity‚ where would his fine go? Trump’s banks suffered no related losses. So‚ how could they claim Trump’s money? And if they don’t‚ does James keep this bonanza as her personal slush fund? James’ partner in injustice is Judge Arthur Engoron. This Democrat Party donor should be booted from the bench for behaving more like the chairman of Hate Trump PAC than an honest‚ evenhanded jurist. (Photo: Spencer Platt/Getty Images) First‚ on Sept. 26‚ Engoron found Trump “to be liable as a matter of law for persistent violations of Executive Law § 63 (12).” Engoron so ruled‚ seven days before‚ in his own words‚ “a nonjury trial that began on Oct. 2‚ 2023.” In other words‚ verdict first‚ testimony later. Having rendered his findings before hearing witnesses‚ Engoron dedicated the trial to assessing Trump’s penalty‚ not whether to impose one. Bank executives who said they suffered no fraud left Engoron cold. Third‚ this case revolves around Trump allegedly overvaluing his properties to secure bigger‚ better loans.  Is this connection‚ consider: A 2.32-acre empty lot is for sale at 1063/1071 North Ocean Boulevard on Palm Beach Island. (Photo: Christie’s) Meanwhile‚ a 14-minute drive and 5.6 miles down the same street‚ at 1100 South Ocean Boulevard‚ sits Trump’s 20-acre Mar-a-Lago estate. It’s a palatial‚ 58-bedroom‚ 33-bathroom resort with gardens‚ fountains‚ a swimming pool‚ restaurants‚ ballrooms‚ and more. General Foods owner Marjorie Merriweather Post spent $7 million in 1927—or $123 million today—to build this hideaway from scratch. Like the first property‚ Mar-a-Lago faces the Atlantic Ocean. Unlike that lot‚ Mar-a-Lago rests on the Intracoastal Waterway. Save for Ocean Boulevard that runs through it‚ Trump’s property goes‚ to borrow a phrase‚ from the river to the sea. Trump and his guests can savor the beach‚ traverse Mar-a-Lago‚ and then sail yachts along the smooth‚ sheltered Intercoastal. Trump’s Mar-a-Lago. Value‚ according to Judge Engoron: $18 million. (Photo: Shutterstock) Despite Post’s initial investment and ensuing luxuries‚ Engoron valued Mar-a-Lago at $18 million—just 9% of the price for that nearby patch of lawn. This nonsense confirms that Engoron is terminally ignorant about real estate values‚ pathologically biased against Trump‚ or both. An appellate court should vaporize Engoron’s absurd‚ sadistic ruling. Those judges should grant Trump true justice: acquittal on all of James’ corrupt charges. That court then should sanction Engoron for blatant‚ partisan activism masquerading as “jurisprudence.” Legal scholars have hurled brickbats at this catastrophe. “This is fraud ‘in the air‚’” Arthur Fergenson‚ senior counsel of Ansa Assuncao LLP‚ wrote Feb. 20 for FoxNews.com. “No harm by no one against no one for no loss by anyone.” In a Reason.com article subtitled “A Stalinist nightmare in New York State‚” Northwestern University law professor Steven Calabresi describes “Trump’s Kafkaesque Civil Trial” as “an unjust political act rivaled only in American politics by the killing of former Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton by Vice President Aaron Burr.” James and Engoron are free to disagree with Trump. If they cannot stand him‚ they can knock on doors or work phone banks for President Joe Biden. What they may not do is devolve New York’s judicial system into the Committee to Reelect Biden or Citizens for Disemboweling Trump. Honest appellate judges should relegate this dumpster fire to the nearest landfill. And they should slap severe‚ career-crippling sanctions on partisan Democratic tyrants Letitia James and Arthur Engoron. The Daily Signal publishes a variety of perspectives. Members of Congress have promised to “hold accountable” those in power so often that the phrase has become hollow. Exhibit A: Alejandro Mayorkas. For many months‚ President Joe Biden’s secretary of homeland security has dodged responsibility for his direct implementation of a historic border crisis. Until now. On Feb. 13‚ the House successfully impeached Mayorkas for the irreparable damage he has done to U.S. sovereignty‚ security‚ and the rule of law. Now it’s the Senate’s turn to hold Mayorkas accountable by conducting a legitimate impeachment trial to examine the evidence in detail in front of the American people. The House’s first article of impeachment was for Mayorkas’ willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law. As a “civil Officer” of the United States‚ Mayorkas doesn’t get to pick and choose which laws to enforce and which to ignore‚ and he certainly doesn’t have the right to violate the law. Yet that’s what he’s done for three dangerous and chaotic years. Consider Mayorkas’ own admissions. He bragged in a 2022 interview with CBS News about “fundamentally chang[ing] immigration enforcement‚” stating: “For the first time ever‚ our policy explicitly states an [illegal alien’s] unlawful presence in the United States will not‚ by itself‚ be a basis for the initiation of an enforcement action.” This is a willful and systemic violation of Section 237 of the Immigration and Nationality Act‚ which states that “any alien … shall … be removed if the alien is within one or more of the following classes of deportable aliens‚” including being inadmissible at the time of entry. Not “some” aliens. “Any alien.” Not “may” be removed. “Shall be removed.” Mayorkas also recently admitted that over 85% of inadmissible aliens encountered by U.S. Customs and Border Protection have been released into the U.S. Not only is this a wholesale violation of Section 237‚ it’s an intentional violation of Sections 235 and 236 of the Immigration and Nationality Act‚ which require mandatory detention for aliens who: 1) are awaiting a determination of the legitimacy of their asylum claim and‚ if found not to be legitimate‚ until they are removed from the country; 2) have been determined by an immigration officer not to be entitled to admission until they can be removed; and 3) are deportable for having committed crimes‚ or for terrorist activity. Furthermore‚ Mayorkas has flagrantly and systemically violated Section 212(d)(5) of the Immigration and Nationality Act‚ which gives the homeland security secretary very limited discretion to temporarily parole an inadmissible alien into the country “only on a case-by-case basis for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit.” Mayorkas has created and maintained dozens of parole programs based on nationality‚ through which he has mass-paroled tens of thousands of inadmissible aliens each month and provided them with work authorizations‚ something Congress didn’t authorize. Mayorkas’ parole programs violate each factor of Section 212(d)(5): They are not case-by-case‚ they are not for urgent humanitarian reasons‚ they advance no significant public benefit‚ and‚ by granting parolees work authorization‚ they are not meant to be temporary. The result of Mayorkas’ mass paroles and refusal to detain or remove the vast majority of illegal aliens at our borders has resulted in an unfathomable 10.7 million encounters with them as well as known “gotaways.” By knowingly overwhelming border agents and ordering them to process and release millions of illegal and inadmissible aliens into the country‚ Mayorkas deliberately has endangered the public safety of Americans and imposed huge costs on state and local governments and communities. Mayorkas is well aware that Border Patrol agents can’t adequately vet all those they encounter‚ let alone the over 1.8 million who evaded agents. Mayorkas also knows that among them come known and suspected terrorists‚ convicted aggravated felons‚ serial rapists‚ pedophiles‚ dangerous gang members‚ human traffickers‚ and huge amounts of fentanyl and other illicit drugs. Mayorkas has had three years to change course‚ to secure the border and protect Americans‚ but he hasn’t. Instead‚ he’s grown only more deceitful about his operations. He has hidden from Americans night flights to secretly dump illegal aliens into unprepared American communities. He has given billions of U.S. tax dollars to secretive nongovernmental organizations that operate an extensive infrastructure intended to facilitate the entry and lengthy residence of illegal aliens in the country while refusing to answer questions when confronted. Mayorkas told Americans that border crossings were down in early 2023‚ while playing a con game‚ using the CPB One mobile app to automate the entry of mass parolees through ports of entry. And now‚ he demands more taxpayer dollars in a supplemental funding package to refill the NGOs’ empty coffers and pay off sanctuary cities that shelter illegal aliens. Americans deserve a real Senate impeachment trial of Alejandro Mayorkas. Dismissing or tabling the impeachment‚ sending it to a trial committee to languish‚ or holding a one-day trial would all be unacceptable options. If Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer does that‚ he would be covering up evidence of fundamental wrongdoing and violating the public trust. And any senator who helps Schumer—including Republicans—would be complicit in a cover-up that tries to hide the dangerous misconduct of one of the worst officials to ever serve in the federal government.  Originally published by Fox News. Senate Democrats need only a simple majority to dismiss the House’s impeachment charges against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas‚ a move that appears likely.   The House voted Feb. 13 to impeach Mayorkas 214 to 213‚ with every Democrat voting no. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer‚ D-N.Y.‚ hasn’t said whether he would act to dismiss the charges or table the two articles of impeachment. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell‚ R-Ky.‚ said during a press conference Tuesday that a full Senate trial “would be the best way to go forward” when asked about his position on the Mayorkas impeachment. The Daily Signal asked McConnell’s office whether the senator “thinks all Republican senators should vote against any potential motion to table the impeachment trial.” The Daily Signal also asked what steps McConnell is “taking to encourage GOP members to oppose the motion to table” and whether he is doing anything “to prepare for the possibility of an impeachment trial.” The Senate minority leader’s office responded by saying it had “Nothing else to add” to McConnell’s comment during the press conference. McConnell is under pressure from some Senate colleagues to demand a full impeachment trial. Sen. Ted Cruz‚ R-Texas; Sen. Mike Lee‚ R-Utah; and 11 other GOP senators last week sent a letter to McConnell urging him to “ensure that the Senate conducts a proper trial” of Mayorkas after the House’s two articles of impeachment reach the Senate.  An additional six Republican senators have indicated to The Daily Signal that they support a full trial.   Democrats have been critical of the GOP effort to impeach Mayorkas. Rep. Bennie Thompson‚ D-Miss.‚ ranking member of the House Homeland Security Committee‚ called impeachment “a sham” in January. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries‚ D-N.Y.‚ said it was “a political stunt.”   The House’s impeachment of Mayorkas came after a nearly yearlong investigation of the DHS secretary led by Rep. Mark Green‚ R-Tenn.‚ chairman of the Homeland Security Committee. The first article of impeachment alleges that Mayorkas failed to secure America’s borders and enforce immigration laws‚ instead executing policies that allow and incentivize illegal immigration. The second article contends that the homeland security secretary is in breach of the public trust and knowingly made false statements to Congress and the American people.    Schumer could refer the articles of impeachment to a Senate committee and allow the matter to die there.  If he instead seeks to dismiss the matter altogether‚ the New York Democrat will need all 48 Senate Democrats and three independents to do so‚ unless one or more of the 49 Senate Republicans also opt against a trial.   The Senate won’t take any action on impeachment until the House delivers the two articles to the upper chamber. Reports indicate House leadership will wait until the current funding fight is resolved before walking the impeachment articles to the Senate.   Even if McConnell calls for a full trial and Schumer consents‚ it is unlikely that the necessary two-thirds of the Senate would vote to convict and remove Mayorkas. And if Democrats opt to dismiss the impeachment articles quickly‚ the border crisis still is expected to remain a hot-button issue as thousands of illegal aliens continue to cross the border daily.   U.S. Customs and Border Protection already has encountered more than 1.2 million illegal aliens on America’s borders and at ports of entry since the start of fiscal year 2024 on Oct. 1. This puts 2024 on track to be another record-breaking year for such encounters with illegal aliens.   Have an opinion about this article?
