Can America survive without faith in its institutions?

What is a nation? And what does it take to destroy it? The 19th-century French historian Ernest Renan famously defined it not as a physical entity but as a spiritual one. A nation is a soul‚ a spiritual principle. Two things which‚ properly speaking‚ are really one and the same constitute this soul‚ this spiritual principle. One is the past; the other is the present. One is the possession in common of a rich legacy of memories; the other is present consent‚ the desire to live together‚ the desire to continue to invest in the heritage that we have jointly received. Messieurs‚ man does not improvise. The nation‚ like the individual‚ is the outcome of a long past of efforts‚ sacrifices‚ and devotions. I agree. But my agreement disturbs me more than I want to admit. A spiritual entity is much more fragile than a physical one. It can be destroyed much more easily because it depends on faith. And faith can be shaken. It can even be destroyed. And worst of all‚ it’s most susceptible not to outside enemies but to enemies within. In what did we have faith here in America? First was surely our Constitution. It represented the constraints on our country that make us a good and just republic‚ which in turn shows us to be a good and just people‚ for how could one exist without the other? What we see now is the Department of Justice using every legal device‚ no matter how questionable‚ no matter how unconstitutional‚ to destroy those officials see as inimical to their chosen ideology. Even the right to a speedy trial is being ignored for those who entered the Capitol on January 6‚ 2021. Many have been in prison for longer than the sentences they would receive from biased courts in Washington‚ D.C. Most crucial of all was our faith in our elections. The 2020 presidential election came and was undermined by massive and manifest fraud. In state after state‚ we saw Donald Trump lead until‚ in the dead of night‚ the electoral count was simultaneously halted in exclusively Democrat-controlled counties in Wisconsin‚ Michigan‚ Pennsylvania‚ and Georgia‚ only to be followed by tens of thousands of newfound votes for a senile candidate who campaigned from his basement. We were told to believe that this man received‚ ultimately‚ an unprecedented 81 million votes. We were once allowed to see all sides. Now‚ we need to be protected from “disinformation” or “misinformation‚” as defined by the people who engineered a fraudulent election and corrupted our institutions. The fraud was clearly a matter of pride for many: The perpetrators had no hesitation in boasting about the operation in Time magazine. In 2020‚ we witnessed an electoral process that can only be claimed to be fair by those who assert that mail-in ballots‚ without any independent validation‚ are justified by unconstrained expansion of voter access. Yet we know they are lying‚ for this depends on two highly questionable assumptions. One is that access to the voting process is a good in itself. The other is that there is no impetus toward fraud in the electoral process. We know neither of those assumptions are true. Not everyone cares enough about elections to want to participate in them. It is those who have an investment in being elected who really care about participation. And these are the very people who have the most reason to want to commit fraud‚ which requires that voting be unconstrained by checks on validity. Put the two together — those who don’t care and those who want to win at any cost — and you have the perfect recipe for stolen elections. Those who don’t care to vote can be “voted” willy-nilly‚ and no one will know‚ for those whose ballots are pilfered just don’t care. All of this leaves us asking ourselves a terrible question: How many of our elected representatives were actually fairly elected? Third was faith in the probity of our judicial system. We used to be able to go into our courts believing they would deal with any issue before them justly and fairly‚ with total impartiality‚ no matter with whom or what they were dealing. Instead‚ the judicial system rejected all but a tiny minority of attempts to bring evidence of fraud before it‚ using any and all judicial technicalities to do so. The final blow was when the Supreme Court refused to hear the Texas lawsuit against states that had violated their own electoral laws on the ridiculous ground of “standing.” Yet in a federal system‚ what recourse does a state have when another state perverts an election that affects all states? If no state has standing to make such a claim‚ who does? “No one” must clearly be the Supreme Court’s reply. Fourth was faith in our federal institutions. Yet we remember how the Internal Revenue Service was weaponized against Tea Party groups in 2012‚ how the intelligence community was used to spread fraudulent information about Trump‚ and how the FBI suppressed evidence of the Bidens’ corruption‚ all the while giving Hillary Clinton a pass. The investigations the Justice Department supposedly undertook to probe misbehavior by these institutions and individuals‚ both under Jeff Sessions and Bill Barr‚ turned out to be meaningless shams. No significant player was indicted. Barr even gratuitously went out of his way to dismiss election fraud claims when he had clearly never looked into them. Fifth was the honesty and impartiality of our media. No one sneered when Walter Cronkite finished his broadcasts with‚ “That’s the way it is!” Now‚ they would roll their eyes. We all know that the American media is functionally an organ of the Democratic Party. In a true democracy‚ we would not have almost every media outlet insisting in unison that every assertion of fraud in the 2020 election is just part of the “Big Lie.” They would not require their reporters to write about claims of election fraud modified by the words “unfounded‚” “false‚” or “debunked.” Sixth‚ as we see here‚ was truth. A small word‚ but a crucial one. We were once allowed to see all sides. We were once given the facts and allowed to choose those that seemed to us to represent the truth. Now‚ we are told we should be protected from “disinformation” or “misinformation‚” as defined by the very people who engineered a fraudulent election and corrupted our institutions. Add to this mix an ideology that violates all common sense‚ where men can be women on a whim and women men‚ and what truth do we have left? Consider what motives there might be for all this‚ for partisan judges who ignore their oaths to uphold the Constitution‚ for civil servants who care nothing for the high ideals that they should adhere to‚ for reporters who have become ideologically captive hacks. Foremost is a profound contempt for the system that gave birth to and nurtured us‚ accompanied by an exaltation of anything that is not us. Perversion of our system is a good thing to those who think like this. They despise it. A system so bad cannot‚ surely‚ be damaged by abuse of it‚ can it? Join this with hatred of a single man‚ and a conviction that any device‚ any stratagem‚ any perversion of the legal system is acceptable to stop him. Constraint is not a word these people know. Nothing else can explain the wildly excessive attempts of those who despise Donald Trump to destroy him. They don’t trust the people. Indeed‚ they fear them. There is nothing they will not do to stop him. Nothing is too extreme. Nothing. And what do we have left? A belief in our nation? But that needs faith in its essence‚ in its spirit. And where is our faith now?

Chip Roy RIPS into Speaker Johnson's 'garbage' spending deal

Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson and Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer have finally come to an agreement on the next budget spending bill. But Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) is furious‚ despite Johnson touting the agreement as a way to cut back on spending while avoiding a government shutdown. Roy tells Glenn Beck that the bill will “hammer the American people” and that while Johnson is the new speaker‚ he’s simply representing “the same garbage.” The bill is $1.66 trillion‚ which is nearly $60 billion more than Nancy Pelosi’s last spending bill and $100 billion more than is needed. Meanwhile‚ the bill doesn’t address the border crisis at all. “Republicans are going to go try to sell you and the American people that that’s somehow a win. Don’t believe them‚” Roy says. “I was asked to eat a National Defense Authorization Act which got rid of almost all of our policy changes we put in our version and then extended FISA over 16 months so we can have a government continue to spy on the American people‚ and now I’m being asked to accept this ridiculous spending deal with no real border security measures‚” Roy continues. While the deal is financially devastating‚ Roy is slightly more concerned about the lack of attention given to the border crisis. “In my view‚ they’re actually both important‚ but I will take border security first‚” he tells Glenn. “Me too‚” Glenn says firmly. Want more from Glenn Beck?To enjoy more of Glenn’s masterful storytelling‚ thought-provoking analysis‚ and uncanny ability to make sense of the chaos‚ subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America‚ defend the Constitution‚ and live the American dream.

Michelle Obama says the quiet part out loud‚ exposing her own terrifying view of the government

Former first lady Michelle Obama is "terrified" over the possible outcome of the upcoming presidential election. In a recent podcast interview‚ Jay Shetty asked Obama what keeps her up at night. At first‚ she listed common fears: war‚ how artificial intelligence will change society‚ the climate‚ phone addictions‚ and "knowing too much‚" referring to her husband once being the leader of the free world and thus privy to the most sensitive of information. But then she listed the 2024 election."What's going to happen in this next election? I am terrified about what could possibly happen because our leaders matter. Who we select‚ who speaks for us‚ who holds that bully pulpit — it affects us in ways that‚ sometimes‚ I think people take it for granted‚" Obama said."You know‚ the fact that people think that government — 'Eh‚ does it really even do anything?' — And I'm like‚ 'Oh my God‚ does government do everything for us‚ and we cannot take this democracy for granted.' And sometimes‚ I worry that we do. Those are the things that keep me up‚" she explained. — (@) You heard that right: Michelle Obama thinks government does "everything" for us and is scared that some Americans may disagree with her.The remark highlights a view of government that‚ ironically‚ would have terrified the founding fathers‚ who believed in limited government — not an enormous centralized bureaucracy that employs millions of people and controls nearly every aspect of society.Indeed‚ Thomas Jefferson famously wrote in 1821:When all government‚ domestic and foreign‚ in little as in great things‚ shall be drawn to Washington as the center of all power‚ it will render powerless the checks provided of one government on another and will become as venal and oppressive as the government from which we separated. It's not surprising that a progressive ideologue like Michelle Obama believes the government does "everything" for us‚ though it is surprising to hear her say it out loud.Ironically‚ it is precisely Obama's view of the government that terrifies those who disagree with her. William Penn statue to remain in Philly park after backlash so severe Biden admin closed public comments

The proposal from the Biden administration's National Park Service to remove a statue of William Penn in the historic heart of Philadelphia‚ announced just last week‚ has already been scrapped and the public comment period shut down after unified outcry from Americans from across the political spectrum. On January 5‚ the NPS announced the proposal to remove the Penn statue from Welcome Park‚ a park established in 1982 on the 300th anniversary of Pennsylvania's founding and named after the ship Welcome‚ which brought Penn to the area from his native England‚ Blaze News previously reported. The purpose of removing the tribute to Penn — a Quaker whose pacificism resulted in decades of peaceful relations between colonists and indigenous tribes — was to provide an "expanded interpretation of the Native American history of Philadelphia" and thereby create "a more welcoming‚ accurate‚ and inclusive experience for visitors." To that end‚ the NPS consulted with members of the Haudenosaunee‚ Delaware‚ Delaware Tribe of Indians‚ Shawnee Tribe‚ and Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma nations‚ the announcement said. However‚ it appears the agency did not consult representatives from many other groups because the backlash against the proposal was swift and severe. The initial announcement said that the NPS website would offer the public the opportunity to share thoughts and concerns about the proposal between January 8 and January 21. By the end of the day on Jan. 8 though‚ the NPS had issued a new statement confirming that the proposal had been withdrawn and the public comment period closed. The original proposal was merely a "preliminary draft" that had been "released prematurely‚" as it "had not been subject to a complete internal agency review‚" the new statement said‚ even as the NPS was the agency that controlled the review and release process."No changes to the William Penn statue are planned‚" the statement reiterated.Leaders from both major political parties are celebrating the proposal's demise. Democrat Gov. Josh Shapiro even claimed that he had a direct hand in making it happen."My team has been in contact with the Biden Administration throughout the day to correct this decision‚" he wrote on X. — (@) Speaker of the Pennsylvania House Bryan Cutler‚ a Republican‚ expressed similar sentiments. "The reversal of the decision by the Biden administration and the National Park Service to remove the statue of William Penn from Welcome Park is the right call‚" he wrote on Facebook. "I am glad to see commonsense and an accurate portrayal of history prevail over this non-sensical and ideologically-driven attempted removal."Despite this rare show of solidarity across the political aisle‚ some left-leaning outlets have derided the decision and dismissed the concerns seemingly shared by the overwhelming majority of respondents. "The proposed plan to remove the William Penn statue from Welcome Park in Old City was withdrawn by the National Park Service on Monday after it was sharply criticized by a Republican state lawmaker and other conservatives‚" sneered the PhillyVoice (emphasis added.)The PhillyVoice also downplayed the historic and patriotic significance of the statue and Welcome Park by citing a leftist Philadelphia blogger who dismissed the park as a "forgotten brutalist plaza." Welcome Park is located just a few blocks from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell and is included among the stops on the Independence Hall Association's virtual "Historic Philadelphia History Tour.""If they'd just removed the statue without announcing it‚ no one would have noticed or cared‚" tweeted another Pennsylvanian cited by the outlet.Axios Philadelphia even seemingly hinted that scrapping the proposal might be the result of racism. In its reporting‚ it bemoaned that "women‚ African Americans and Indigenous people remain significantly underrepresented compared to white men in American monuments‚ including in Philly." "The confederacy of tribal nations contends the site of the park was given to them in the 1700s and remains theirs‚" the outlet said.Like Blaze News? Female math teacher arrested after allegedly having sex with 16-year-old student‚ father knew about relationship

A female math teacher in Missouri has reportedly been taken into custody in Texas for having an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old high school student‚ according to the Daily Mail. The twist in the case is that the boy's father has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child after it was claimed he knew his son to be involved in the relationship.Hailey Nichelle Clifton-Carmack‚ 26‚ was arrested by the Garden Ridge Police Department on Friday. It is believed the sexual assaults took place in Pulaski County — around 800 miles away from where she was eventually found and arrested by the authorities.KRCG reported that court documents indicated Clifton-Carmack had sex with the student in her classroom while other students stood watch. It is uncertain whether the other students will be disciplined in the case. The situation was reported to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department by the Laquey school resource officer. A student ultimately came forward and revealed photographs of his classmate‚ who had scratches all over his back. The student said the scratches were from Clifton-Carmack after they had sex in the classmate's driveway‚ according to the report. Clifton-Carmack apparently has two young daughters of her own‚ and she was recently divorced from Chance Carmack. Chance was a mixed martial arts fighter and had recently completed basic training in the U.S. Army.Detectives involved in the case visited the school district on December 8 to take up the teacher's phone‚ but they were unable to see any messages until they got a warrant to unlock it. During this time‚ Clifton-Carmack denied that she had any kind of relationship with a student outside school. After obtaining a warrant‚ the authorities discovered text messages swapped between the teacher and the 16-year-old student. The student who initially came forward in the case said Clifton-Carmack often dressed inappropriately and that she was too friendly with some of the students at the school. According to court documents‚ Clifton-Carmack would often show up at school wearing "tight or low-cut shirts" and showed off her "headlights."The teacher was also known to wear leggings that would "show off her body‚" and she had apparently been reprimanded by the school for being "too close with students."Clifton-Carmack had traveled to Texas for the holidays‚ which explained why she was not in Missouri when the authorities attempted to arrest her.She was arrested "without incident" and booked into the Comal County Jail. Reports stated that she was charged with statutory rape in the second degree; sexual contact with a student; endangering the welfare of a child; and child molestation.Like Blaze News? OpenAI claims it cannot advance if not allowed to use copyrighted material amid NYT lawsuit

The creator of ChatGPT recently said that the inability to use copyrighted material such as news and books to train chatbots will ultimately fizzle the development of artificial intelligence‚ according to the Telegraph. The statements come after the New York Times has sued the company for violation of copyright law.OpenAI has lamented the potential progress of artificial intelligence by saying it is "impossible" to create advanced technological services like ChatGPT if it is prevented from using copyrighted work to train the bots. The latest development could ignite a debate over the legalities of using material that is protected by law.The company — which could be valued as high as $100 billion — is prepared to push back against lawsuits filed by book publishers and the New York Times for using its copyrighted material without consent to "train" ChatGPT‚ according to Futurism. The Post Millennial published a piece in early 2023 that suggested OpenAI could eat up as much as 80% of the U.S. job market in the future. And many have expressed reluctance about the latest developments in artificial intelligence‚ which some believe could risk the future of humanity."Because copyright today covers virtually every sort of human expression – including blog posts‚ photographs‚ forum posts‚ scraps of software code‚ and government documents – it would be impossible to train today’s leading AI models without using copyrighted materials‚" OpenAI told the House of Lords Communications and Digital Committee."Limiting training data to public domain books and drawings created more than a century ago might yield an interesting experiment‚ but would not provide AI systems that meet the needs of today’s citizens.”Despite OpenAI's claim that it has complied with copyright laws‚ book publishers and authors maintain that tech companies have been using their material without getting permission first. In December‚ the New York Times sued OpenAI and Microsoft‚ claiming that they are "profit[ing] from the massive copyright infringement‚ commercial exploitation and misappropriation of The Times’s intellectual property."The Times is the first major American media organization to sue the companies on these grounds. The lawsuit‚ which was filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York‚ contends that "millions of articles published by The Times were used to train automated chatbots that now compete with the news outlet as a source of reliable information."Additionally‚ authors George R.R. Martin and John Grisham have sued the company for using their books to train ChatGPT without obtaining the necessary permission to do so. Like Blaze News? 'The Boys in the Boat': A must-watch if you love America

Remember when the movies offered an escape from trivial day-to-day concerns? Nowadays a filmmaker’s first job is to rub your face in them. “We’re in 2024 now‚” bragged Pakistani-Canadian journalist Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy about being tapped to direct the next “Star Wars” film‚ “and it’s about time that we had a woman come forward to shape a story in a galaxy far‚ far away‚” she said. It seems unlikely that Obaid-Chinoy’s vision for the iconic franchise will transcend her narrow ideological concerns. “I like to make men uncomfortable‚” she has said. This is the latest reminder that Hollywood’s priority in producing such woke remakes is not to dazzle fans or even to make a profit. Politics is the product. Shared cultural symbols must be corrupted and shaped by a left-wing narrative so that everything we once held dear becomes a gross mockery. George Clooney’s new movie “The Boys in the Boat” presents a rare exception. The true-life tale of the University of Washington’s ragtag rowing team and their unlikely quest for gold at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin seeks first to entertain and inspire. As appropriate for a film about the Olympics – in which determined amateur athletes compete for national glory – “The Boys in the Boat” is unapologetically pro-America. It is also pro-masculinity. Early in the movie‚ we see nearly forty guys showing up to the dockyard for the school’s crew tryouts. The coach informs them that only the best will make it past the rigorous training process and even fewer will be selected to join the team. This picture of straightforward “may the best man win” meritocracy might seem unfamiliar to the 2024 viewer. Where are the obligatory humiliation rituals for white men? Who is making sure this team complies with DEI standards? In a rebuke of participation trophy culture‚ these boys test the limits of their athletic abilities and exemplify the healthy competitiveness necessary for any successful society. Theirs is a brotherhood earned by shared struggle and a common goal‚ not one imposed by busybody bureaucrats. Likewise‚ their victory is a victory of the human spirit‚ not of petty political infighting. Which means it’s a victory that can inspire everyone‚ not just certain grievance based in-groups. Like all meaningful victories‚ it is motivated by healthy love of family‚ nation‚ and tradition‚ rather than by rage and resentment. Clooney’s direction ably brings Daniel James Brown’s best-selling book of the same name to life. Joel Edgerton is excellent as no-nonsense coach Al Ulbrickson‚ as is Callum Turner as team leader Joe Rantz. A tale of patriotism and perseverance‚ “The Boys in the Boat” is highly recommended viewing for anyone who still loves America.

Ron DeSantis shows how to bring the teachers’ unions to heel

Ron DeSantis shows how to bring the teachers’ unions to heel

Leftists want schools to replace parents and provide children with everything — except for a decent education. That is why schools are increasingly funded to provide children with every meal — even during the summer — while they are teaching children about gay porn and made-up pronouns. Believe it or not‚ this cancer is spreading to varying degrees in almost every red state — except for the one state where the governor is denying the left money and power to indoctrinate and transform our kids. DeSantis is trying to make freedom‚ not dependency‚ permanent in Florida. It’s something every Republican has promised for years but has never delivered. While most red states struggle to eradicate union influence even from rural education districts‚ Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is on the cusp of decertifying United Teachers of Dade‚ the largest teachers’ union in Florida and one of the largest in the country. In May‚ DeSantis signed SB 256‚ which required that all public employee unions receive 60% support from membership or face a decertification vote. The law also allowed members to reject automatic deduction of membership dues from their paychecks. As a result‚ enough members decided to keep their own money‚ which resulted in UTD’s membership dues dropping to 58.4% of members. After repeatedly failing in court to get the law blocked‚ UTD leadership worked arduously through the fall to regain a 60% threshold. They offered $100 gift cards to members who signed up additional dues-paying teachers and flew in staffers to bolster their sign-up campaign. They also eliminated the substitute teachers from the bargaining unit in order to lower the number of teachers needed to meet the standard. In the end‚ enough teachers voted with their brains and pocketbooks‚ decided to keep their money out of the hands of the greedy union grift‚ and even formed a new local association to ensure their pooled resources didn’t leave Dade County. By the way‚ those paychecks have grown larger‚ as DeSantis raised teachers’ salaries while cutting taxes and reducing the union’s control over their destinies. Thanks to a provision of SB 256 lowering the threshold for new ballot certification of startup alternative teacher’s associations‚ the Miami-Dade Education Coalition was born. This alternative will permanently imperil United Teachers of Dade’s ability to remain viable in the long term. Under the new law‚ existing unions must show a 30% interest threshold in unionizing to vote for certification. They can still gather signatures from 30%‚ present the results to the state’s Public Employees Relations Commission‚ and then reconstitute the union with a 51% vote for affirmation. However‚ the union would still face that 60% threshold to maintain its certification yearly. The law artfully allows new competitors to get on the ballot with signatures from just 10% of the population (instead of 30% for existing unions)‚ increasing their viability. Eventually‚ the upstart organization could siphon off some of the remaining support for the status quo union‚ leading to a decline below the 50% threshold to exist at all. While some will complain the law is unfair‚ SB 256 is a superb example of how to break the incumbent power. When the government empowers private grifters to create a stronghold over entire professions and the education of our children‚ the only way to reconstitute choice and competition is to balance out generations of tendentious pro-union treatment with provisions such as the 10% threshold for new associations. It once again demonstrates the cunning of the DeSantis administration in using power to achieve conservative ends the same way the left has acted in blue states — and even red states — for decades. Florida is also rejecting $248 million in eligible funding from the Department of Agriculture for the Summer EBT Program‚ which provides food to children enrolled in the school lunch program. This is how the government owns us: by making as many people as dependent as possible for every need under the sun. The federal government owns red states by making their governments dependent on its funding streams and then attaching so many strings that the state can’t help but morph into California lite. DeSantis is having none of it. The Florida Department of Children and Family Services declined to opt in to the new funding for school meals. The state had until January 1 to sign up for the additional funding‚ which our useless Republican Congress authorized in December’s budget bill. “We anticipate that our state’s full approach to serving children will continue to be successful this year without any additional federal programs that inherently always come with some federal strings attached‚” Florida Department of Children and Families spokeswoman Mallory McManus told the Orlando Sentinel. DeSantis clearly understands that dependency on federal funding is what makes red states act like blue states. Most Republican governors are addicted to federal funding and then wonder why they have blue-state problems. The Summer EBT Program started as an “emergency” program during COVID. But like all such “temporary” spending‚ it’s become permanent. DeSantis is trying to make freedom‚ not dependency‚ permanent in Florida. Regardless of who wins the nomination for president‚ we should all strive to turn the red states into sanctuaries for our values. Nobody has offered a better blueprint than DeSantis when it comes to freeing red states from the officious tentacles of both federal funding and union bosses.

'Will cause offence': Classic James Bond films slapped with trigger warnings for 'outdated' stereotypes

Classic James Bond movies from the 1960s received trigger warnings from the British Film Institute ahead of upcoming screenings. The warnings told audiences to expect outdated themes and racist stereotypes. The two films in question were 1967's "You Only Live Twice" and "Goldfinger" from 1964. Both films star iconic Scottish actor Sean Connery. The organization has featured the two films as part of a celebration of soundtrack writer John Barry‚ showcasing Barry's musical scores in the motion pictures. However‚ the website warned that the "films contain language‚ images or other content that reflect views prevalent in its time‚ but will cause offence today (as they did then)." "The titles are included here for historical‚ cultural or aesthetic reasons and these views are in no way endorsed by the BFI or its partners‚" the institute added. The newer film‚ "You Only Live Twice‚" also received its own specific warning of "outdated racial stereotypes‚" the Independent reported. "As a cultural charity with responsibility for the preservation of film and moving image work and presenting it to audiences‚ we continuously face and deal with challenges presented by the history of film and television programmes and how they reflect views prevalent to their time‚" the BFI told the Guardian."Whilst we have a responsibility to preserve films as close to their contemporaneous accuracy as possible‚ even where they contain language or depiction which we categorically reject‚ we also have a responsibility in how we present them to our audiences‚" the film institute insisted."Goldfinger" has been criticized for sexist dialogue on the part of James Bond‚ who at one point tells a woman to "say goodbye" so he can conduct "man talk‚" before slapping her on the buttocks. At the same time‚ in "You Only Live Twice‚" the Bond character is disguised to look like a Japanese man for one of his spy missions. In 2023‚ original work from James Bond author Ian Fleming were revised due to worries of offence as well. The N-word was edited out of books from the 1950s and 1960s‚ with some depictions of black people also removed. An example of a revised line was from "Live and Let Die‚" where James Bond described some possible African criminals as "pretty law-abiding chaps I should have thought‚ except when they’ve drunk too much."The line was changed to "pretty law-abiding chaps I should have thought."Like Blaze News? Listen to the Globes audience SQUIRM as Jim Gaffigan brilliantly humiliates elites

As the Epstein files trickle out to the public‚ some celebrities are making light of not being involved. One of those celebrities is Jim Gaffigan‚ who used his time on stage at the Golden Globes to drive that home. “This is so exciting for me‚” Gaffigan told the audience as he introduced the award for best performance in a stand-up comedy on television. “The Golden Globes‚ I mean‚ I can’t even believe I’m in the entertainment industry.” “I can’t‚ you know‚ it’s so unlikely. I’m from a small town in Indiana. I’m not a pedophile‚” he added‚ joking. Dave Rubin is impressed‚ noting that the audience actually laughed. “The thing about comedy is comedy is usually done best when you’re saying something true‚ making people laugh about it‚ and then they have to start thinking‚” Rubin says. “Obviously there’s a lot of problems in Hollywood‚ in‚ let's say‚ our political institutions‚ this Epstein list‚ a whole bunch more‚” he adds.
