Musk opposes the bill because he believes it raises government spending too much, while Schiff objects to what he calls its “far-right” content, which he describes as “dangerous.” Musk fired off a response rejecting Schiff’s alleged praise of the tech billionaire’s position on the bill. “Hmm, few things could convince me to reconsider my position more than Adam Schiff agreeing with me!” On May 30, Musk’s time with the administration came to an end, and he seemed to leave things on good terms. Johnson said he has exchanged text messages with Musk since the former chief of Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency came out against the GOP bill. Musk called it an “abomination” that would add to U.S. debts and threaten economic stability. He urged voters to flood Capitol Hill with calls to vote against the measure, which is pending in the Senate after clearing the House. His criticism sparked an angry social media back-and-forth with Trump, who told reporters over the weekend that he has no desire to repair his relationship with Musk. The speaker was dismissive of Musk’s threats to finance opponents — even Democrats — of Republican members who back Trump’s bill. “We’ve got almost no calls to the offices, any Republican member of Congress,” Johnson said. “And I think that indicates that people are taking a wait and see attitude. It was unclear who or what ignited the blaze, which burned on a sidewalk as Los Angeles Police Department officers on horseback chased several individuals who ran from the scene. One man who was running away tripped and fell in the middle of the street and was immediately surrounded by officers on foot and on horses. Fireworks ignited as the man stood up and began walking away; a police officer grabbed him and quickly pulled him to the ground. Whether the man was among the 27 people who were arrested during the protests was unknown. Here was Gov. Horrifying footage filmed by motorists showed people running for their lives as a people carrier was driven full-speed into a crowd, with reports that several protesters were injured. The driver of the vehicle – reported to be shirtless as he launched the attack – spun it around in circles and reversed it multiple times in an apparent attempt to hit people, and was later arrested. Balaclava-clad protesters waving Mexican flags were caught on camera standing on top of wrecked Waymo driverless cars, while huge infernos were seen rising from burnt-out vehicles. Footage showed how in one vicious attack, officers were forced to shelter under an overpass on the 101 Freeway as they were hammered with fiery missiles, e-scooters and other projectiles from above.

Be careful what you wish for, Gov. Newsom. Things are quickly heating up between Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom of California and the Trump administration. In the last several days, Newsom has criticized the Trump administration for deploying the National Guard to quell the riots wreaking havoc in Los Angeles. Now Newsom has taken a step further and has called for the Trump admin to arrest him. Deadline had more details to add: “Come after me. Arrest me,” a visibly angry Governor Gavin Newsom challenged the Trump administration late today. Newsom was responding to comments made by Trump border czar Tom Homan who, when asked if his threat to arrest anybody who got in the way of immigration officials included the California governor and/or Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, replied, “I’ll say it about anybody. You cross that line, it’s a felony to knowingly harbor and conceal an illegal alien. It’s a felony to impede law enforcement doing their job.” Newsom challenged Homan today in an interview with MSNBC, “Why doesn’t he do that? He’s a tough guy. He knows where to find me.” The governor was upset by what he said was ICE detaining “four year old girls who are just trying to get an education. Lay your hands off these people who are just trying to live their lives.” Newsom then moved back to Homan and the Trump Administration. “What the hell are they doing? These guys need to grow up. He understands that I am the mayor of the city; the last thing in the world I’m going to do is get into a brawl with the federal government. So that just made no sense. It took former Vice President Kamala Harris days to even address the destruction brought onto her state by far-left rioters. When she finally did release a statement, it only further stoked division as law enforcement officers and immigration officials face constant threats while trying to do their jobs in Los Angeles. Dutifully placing all the onus on the Trump administration, Harris essentially absolved those responsible for all the chaos. As Breitbart reported: “Los Angeles is my home,” Harris said in a statement posted to X. “And like so many Americans, I am appalled at what we are witnessing on the streets of our city. Deploying the National Guard is a dangerous escalation meant to provoke chaos. In addition to the recent ICE raids in Southern California and across our nation, it is part of the Trump Administration’s cruel, calculated agenda to spread panic and division.” Harris’s statement comes a day after Trump issued a presidential memorandum deploying 2,000 National Guardsmen to quell the violence of the riots. Harris continued to criticize the Trump administration, claiming that the administration’s “actions are not about public safety,” but about “stoking fear.” “Fear of a community demanding dignity and due process,” Harris continued. “Protest is a powerful tool — essential in the fight for justice. As Los Angeles devolved into what resembled a war zone over the weekend amid leftist protests against the Trump administration’s immigration policy, some local leaders urged participants to remain civil. But there were a few who actively egged on the violent, destructive protests. One such figure was a city councilwoman who delivered an incendiary speech on Saturday encouraging rioters to take their demonstrations to the next level. According to Breitbart: The council member is identified as Eunisses Hernandez, whose bio on the California government website says she was born in Highland Park, is a “community organizer,” and the daughter of Mexican immigrants. Video footage shows Hernandez speaking to a large crowd on Saturday, stating, “They know how quickly we mobilize, that’s why they’re changing tactics. Because community defense works and our resistance has slowed them down before… and if they’re escalating their tactics then so are we. Gavin Newsom and LA Mayor Karen Bass. It’s the first time in 60 years that the commander-in-chief deployed a state’s National Guard without the governor’s blessing, and members of the Trump administration are saying the move is justified because the protests represent a “violent insurrection” against the country. “This is a violent insurrection,” White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller posted Saturday night. Vice President JD Vance also used the word in describing the riots: “Insurrectionists carrying foreign flags are attacking immigration enforcement officers, while one half of America’s political leadership has decided that border enforcement is evil,” he said on X. But during a recent interview, radio host Charlamagne tha God actually pressed Swalwell, albeit gently, on the controversy. Of course, the lawmaker’s response didn’t exactly put the matter to rest. As TheBlaze reported: Podcaster and radio host Charlamagne tha God, real name Lenard McKelvey, casually brought up the spy scandal during an interview on “The Breakfast Club,” with Swalwell casually brushing off the claims. “Did the Chinese spy scandal hurt your credibility, or did Republicans just weaponize a nothing-burger, so to speak?” Charlamagne asked nonchalantly. Swalwell quickly appealed to authority over the question and blamed disinformation. “You know, the fact that the FBI and the House Ethics Committee said it was bulls**t.
