GOP Senator’s Son Involved In Police Chase Resulting In Death Of Sheriff’s Deputy

Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-ND) said his 42-year-old son was involved in a police chase on Wednesday that came to a tragic end‚ resulting in the death of a sheriff’s deputy. A Mercer County‚ North Dakota‚ Sheriff’s deputy was killed as police engaged in a pursuit of Ian Cramer after the senator’s son reportedly took off with his mother’s car. Ian — who “suffers from severe mental disorders which manifest in severe paranoia and hallucinations‚” according to the senator — was taken to the emergency room by Cramer’s wife‚ Kris‚ after he told her he wanted to go see his brother who died five years ago. When Kris got out of the car at the hospital‚ Ian jumped into the driver’s seat and sped off‚ the senator said in a statement‚ KFYR reported.  “Our daughter was able to track the car through Kris’ cell phone and lead officers to him in Mercer County‚ ND‚” Cramer said in a statement. “We don’t have more details right now but will work with authorities to properly inform the public.”  The Mercer County Sheriff’s Department initially located Ian and the stolen SUV in Hazen‚ North Dakota‚ where officers approached him‚ but the 42-year-old fled‚ according to authorities. As police pursued him‚ a Mercer County Sheriff’s deputy stood alongside the road next to a parked patrol car‚ preparing to deploy a spike strip to deflate the tires of the vehicle Ian was driving. The SUV‚ however‚ veered off the road and rammed into the parked patrol car head-on. The crash pushed the patrol car back into the deputy standing on the side of the road‚ killing him‚ KFYR reported.   Ian was rushed to the hospital following the crash before being taken to the Mercer County Jail. No charges have been filed yet as the North Dakota Highway Patrol investigates the incident. Sen. Cramer said he and his family are grieving for their son and the deputy’s family and asked the public for their prayers.  CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP “I will take the first flight I can to be with our family as we grieve what has happened‚” Cramer added. “We grieve especially for the family of the hero who tried to help Ian‚ and we pray for our gracious God to show up as He always does in tragedy. We ask the public for prayers for the lost officer’s family and colleagues who serve us every day and are grateful for all they do for us. We also ask God for healing for Ian. We love him and hurt deeply.”

Timothée Chalamet Explains What Convinced Him ‘Wonka’ Movie Wasn’t A ‘Cynical Money Grab’

Actor Timothée Chalamet‚ who stars in the upcoming musical fantasy film “Wonka‚” said he didn’t initially want to sign on to the project.  The 27-year-old said he’s skeptical about sequels and remakes in general. “Wonka” tells the origin story of Willy Wonka‚ a character in the 1964 novel “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” by Roald Dahl. The book was made into a movie‚ “Willy Wonka &; the Chocolate Factory‚” in 1971. It was remade in 2005 with Johnny Depp playing Wonka.  “Like many people‚ when there are remakes‚ I feel very protective over the original character and versions you love‚” Chalamet said during an interview with GamesRadar+. “Your eyebrows go up with skepticism about [whether] this is a legitimate‚ worthwhile story or a cynical money grab.” Chalamet said he only had to read three pages of the script to change his mind. “The song ‘Hat Full of Dreams’ was in there‚” he said of the movie’s opening musical number. “And there was no music to accompany it‚ but the lyrics were so clever. [It’s] about this young Willy‚ who was definitively not the crazy‚ cynical‚ kind of jaded‚ brain-fried version that we see in the two prior films but was very hopeful‚ young‚ ambitious‚ won’t-take-no-for-an-answer‚ maybe a little naive. I think that’s very clever.” The “Dune” actor said he wasn’t initially looking for a role that required singing and dancing‚ but this one was an exception. “I love musical theater and I love song and dance‚” Chalamet told the outlet. “And I love old Fred Astaire movies and the original ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ with Gene Wilder. I didn’t think I’d get a chance to do it‚ not like this. But [movie director] Paul King is one of these directors that you don’t say no to.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP King said in a previous interview with Rolling Stone that Chalamet didn’t need to audition because he was “the only person in my mind who could [be Wonka].”  Early reviews of “Wonka” are mixed‚ but critics have praised Chalamet’s performance. The movie hits theaters nationwide on December 15.

Man Rushes Through Burning Apartment Building To Save Neighbors.

In this day and age‚ when everyone is connected so easily through their phones and computers‚ it’s easy to forget the importance of neighbors. This man reminded his community of the power of kindness when he saved his neighbors from a burning building. In Thornton‚ Colorado‚ on November 29th‚ this man’s apartment complex grew engulfed in flames. This image is from YouTube. This man is Phil Taylor. It was his balcony that was suddenly aflame in the middle of the night. Because it was outside‚ the fire alarms weren’t triggered‚ so he knew he needed to jump into action. Phil acknowledged the danger of his actions but stated that his instincts took control. He knew he needed to get the apartment complex residents to safety. The man jumped into action to save his neighbors. Ultimately‚ no one was hurt in the flames due to Phil’s powerful act of community. His kids and wife covered some of the floors‚ while he covered others‚ banging on the doors and clearing everyone out. This man and his family saved his neighbors at the cost of all of their belongings. Phil’s family‚ along with two other resident families‚ lost everything in the fire. After the fire‚ the Taylor family had just the clothes on their back. Thankfully‚ Phil’s employer provided the Taylors with a $10‚000 check to help rebuild after this tragedy.
