KISS Reaches The End Of The “End Of The Road”
KISS closed out their “End of the Road” farewell tour with the second of two shows (December 2nd) at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. Fans from across the country — and world — queued outside MSG in KISS gear and face paint.
On the first night (December 1st)‚ KISS opened the 20-song set with “Detroit Rock City.” “Rock And Roll All Nite” concluded the encore. The show also included drum‚ guitar and bass solos.
KISS was founded in NYC in ’73 by Paul Stanley – pictured (vocals‚ rhythm guitar)‚ Gene Simmons (vocals‚ bass)‚ Ace Frehley (lead guitar‚ vocals)‚ and Peter Criss (drums‚ vocals). Criss initially left in ’80 while Frehley departed in ’82. Both returned for stints in the ’90s and beyond.
The current KISS line-up has Stanley‚ Simmons – pictured‚ Tommy Thayer (lead guitar) and Eric Singer (drums).
Eric Carr played drums and sang from ’80 to ’91. In addition to Frehley‚ KISS guitarists included – Vinnie Vincent (’82-’84)‚ Mark St. John (’84) and Bruce Kulick (’84 – ’96).
Over the course of their career KISS released two dozen albums – beginning with “KISS” in ’74 and concluding with “Monster” in ’12 – and embarked on over three dozen tours.
