Playstation To Remove Access To Hundreds of Shows – Even if Customers Already Paid For Them

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties‚ subscribe to Reclaim The Net. An unexpected notification released by Sony has raised eyebrows and sparked debates over digital ownership rights. The tech giant disclosed plans to erase hundreds of TV shows from Discovery‚ purchased via the PlayStation Store‚ from all PlayStation platforms. The sudden move has left many anticipating the shape of an increasingly digital world. Following licensing arrangements with content providers‚ Sony announced‚ “As of 31 December 2023‚ you will no longer be able to watch any of your previously purchased Discovery content and the content will be removed from your video library.” Alongside this sudden proclamation‚ a comprehensive list of Discovery shows due for removal was also shared – a list that was notably long. Related: Amazon sued for misleading you into believing you own a copy of the digital movies you purchase The exact reasons behind this controversial move remain unclear. Sony’s prior agreement with Discovery‚ blurring out after Discovery merged with Warner Bros last year‚ might offer an explanation. As uncertainty looms‚ the affected PlayStation users face the undesired news of losing out on their already-purchased digital content. This isn’t unfamiliar territory for Sony‚ the latest development is just another episode in a series of content removal from the PS Store and users’ purchase libraries. DNA Company 23andMe Reports Unauthorized Access to Numerous User Ancestry Files

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties‚ subscribe to Reclaim The Net. In recent years‚ a growing number of people have been handing their DNA over to tech companies for the apparent benefits of finding out information about their ancestry and more about their health. However‚ as with digital IDs‚ when such entities get access to your most intimate data‚ it becomes the target of hackers and cyberattacks. A considerable number of user ancestry files were exposed during a recent cyberattack on genetic testing giant‚ 23andMe. As per an official filing released on Friday‚ cybercriminals infiltrated around 14‚000 user accounts – a figure that equates to approximately 0.1% of the company’s global customer base of over 14 million. The hackers leveraged a common cyberattack technique known as “credential stuffing.” This involved exploiting leaked account passwords to gain unauthorized access. However‚ the attack didn’t end with the initial victims. 23andMe incorporates a feature whereby users can opt to share selected information with other users. Consequently‚ the breach also extended to individuals linked through this feature. What amplifies the gravity of the data breach is the nature of the exposed information — mainly personal user ancestry details‚ and in some cases‚ health-related genetic information. The exact number of affected ‘other users’ or the precise extent of accessed files remains unclear as the company has yet to release specific figures. Tech news outlet TechCrunch undertook an analysis of the exposed datasets‚ comparing them against publicly accessible genealogy databases. The website found considerable overlap between the leaked datasets and established genealogy records. In the aftermath of the initial breach disclosure in October‚ the hackers advertised the alleged data of one million users of Jewish Ashkenazi descent and 100‚000 Chinese users on a prominent hacking forum. This preceded a subsequent advertisement of the supposed records of four million more users. Intriguingly‚ TechCrunch discovered a precursor to these developments where a hacker advertised a staggering 300 terabytes of stolen 23andMe user data and sought up to $50 million for its entirety. EU Committees Vote in Favor of Mandatory Interconnected Digital Patient Health Records for All Citizens

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties‚ subscribe to Reclaim The Net. The EU’s next legislative goal post that opponents see as part of a big push to strip citizens of their privacy‚ has now reached medical histories and associated data. Interconnecting – in effect‚ centralizing (and making remotely accessible) – that data is the key premise of what has now emerged as European Health Data Space (EHDS). The upcoming bill has been backed by the European Parliament (EP)‚ its Committee on Civil Liberties‚ Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE)‚ and Committee on Environment‚ Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI). EP member (MEP) and lawyer Patrick Breyer‚ a long-time critic of this type of policy‚ explains that EHDS – which he voted against – would “bring together information on all medical treatments received by citizens.” Doctors will have to submit summaries of treatments they provide to “the new data space” – with the initial proposal not containing provisions that would allow for objections or exceptions. And while access can be restricted if a patient so wishes – the actual creation of the database can’t be prevented. And let’s just reiterate that this might concern some of the most sensitive personal medical information: “mental disorders‚ sexual diseases and disorders such as impotence or infertility‚ HIV or drug abuse therapies‚” writes Breyer. “The EU’s plan to collect and interconnect records on all medical therapies entails irresponsible risks of data theft‚ hacking or loss. Even the most delicate therapies can no longer be administered off record in the future‚” the German Pirate Party MEP further warned‚ blasting the idea as the end of medical confidentiality in the EU. He makes a particular note of the danger that those who are less both computer and politically literate – such as the elderly or those not paying enough attention to bureaucratic decisions made by the EU (that nonetheless end up defining their lives)‚ as well as those with actual lower level of education – all especially vulnerable in a scheme like this – would simply not be fully aware of the long-term consequences. “(…) having to actively object with a certain authority or via a digital tool is too complicated in practice to give them a real choice‚” Breyer describes a real-life scenario. On top of that‚ the planned new law would seem to be clash with the established international standards that require (fully informed) consent for patients’ medical information to be “shared” – and Breyer references the World Medical Association’s International Code of Medical Ethics and the Helsinki declaration on Ethical Principles for Medical Research. The EP will vote in December on this recommended legislation‚ when amendments will be considered as well. Right now‚ people polled about the topic in 44% of cases worry about health data theft‚ while 40% fear unauthorized access. Video: Illegal immigrants land on Malibu beach near lavish homes of liberal celebrities like Barbara Streisand and Cher

A boat full of suspected illegal immigrants landed on a beach in California near the luxurious homes of several liberal celebrities. Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin posted video of the landing on the X social media. "Video from a contact in Malibu shows a panga boat full of suspected illegal immigrants landing on a beach near his home this week‚" Melugin wrote. "Incredibly rare to see this so far north‚ as Malibu is 100+ miles away from the border. Unclear if anyone caught‚ awaiting a CBP response." Melugin also noted that there was a sunken panga boat in the same area. Last week‚ KABC-TV reported that Homeland Security and U.S. Customs and Border Protection are investigating the sunken 25-foot-long panga boat. Authorities said they found life jackets and gas cans nearby. No one was detained. KTTV pointed out‚ "Panga boats are frequently used by human and drug smugglers." — (@) The swanky Malibu coastal area is home to multiple liberal celebrities‚ including Barbara Streisand‚ Leonardo DiCaprio‚ and Cher. The Daily Mail reported‚ "Streisand's 19-bedroom clifftop mansion‚ which she bought in 1997‚ is now believed to be worth $100 million."Streisand has a net worth of $430 million‚ according to Forbes. Streisand has been critical of former President Donald Trump's plans to build a border wall on the U.S. southern border with Mexico. In 2018‚ Streisand released an album titled "Walls" that rails against Trump's policies attempting to deter illegal immigration. The album's title track talks about how there should not be walls: Brick by brick they built them but it seems to meBrick by brick they built themWhere they shouldn't beWe should be building bridges to a better dayWhere no walls would stand in the wayStreisand‚ 81‚ told the New York Times that the album allowed her to express her anger and frustration with Trump being her president. The Hollywood actress said‚ "I would lie awake at night with Trump’s outrages running through my head‚ and I had to do another album for Columbia Records‚ so I thought‚ why not make an album about what’s on my mind? And that became the title of the first song. I am so grateful to have music in my life as a way to express myself."Streisand said in a 2019 tweet‚ "Trump only cares about this 'wall' in order to build a monument to himself. Just like the bankrupt 'Trump' buildings‚ the nation cannot afford to pay for his ego – not financially‚ not morally."Streisand‚ a devout supporter of the Democratic Party‚ threatened to move out of the country if Trump wins the 2024 presidential election. "I can't live in this country if he became president." Streisand said last month. "Probably to England. I like England."Like Blaze News? Starfield needs mods more than Skyrim ever did

Writing about both Skyrim and Starfield mods is like breathing air for me at this point. The community of Bethesda players coming out in droves to both make and download mods for these games is‚ frankly‚ amazing. I never get tired of celebrating this work‚ either‚ as while the relationship between developer and player has changed so much thanks to mods‚ there are some incredible creations to show for it. That said‚ even after just a couple of months‚ I’m starting to feel like Starfield’s future hinges more on mods than Skyrim’s ever did - and only time will tell.
