Gov. Abbott Pledges To Sign Law Authorizing Texas Police To Arrest Illegal Immigrants

Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott said on Sunday that he plans to sign a new state law that will authorize every police officer in the Lone Star State to arrest immigrants who illegally entered Texas from another country. “Texas is having to step up and do even more to make sure that we deny illegal entry into the state of Texas and as a result … in two weeks I’ll be singing [the] new law‚” Abbott said during an interview with Fox News. Last month‚ Texas Republicans sent the governor SB4 — a bill that would authorize local police to handle immigration enforcement by making it a state misdemeanor to cross the Texas-Mexico border illegally. If passed‚ the legislation that state officials have dubbed “the strongest border security bill” would also allow a judge to order immigrants to return to Mexico. The latest effort from Abbott amid his battle with the Biden Administration’s open border policies comes as millions of illegal crossings have taken place under President Joe Biden. “The problem is extraordinarily bad‚” Abbott said. “The numbers are high‚ and that is because Joe Biden continues to lay out the welcome mat welcoming illegal immigrants into the United States of America.” House Republicans cited numbers from the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) and Yale University that showed between 16.8 million and 29 million illegal migrants currently living in the U.S. The data indicates that about 3.8 million migrants have entered the country under President Biden’s watch‚ overwhelming U.S. Border Patrol authorities — who continue to sound the alarm over the historic number of illegal immigrants entering the country. Border sources told Fox News that authorities have encountered nearly 475‚000 migrants with just over an additional 60‚000 getaways in the fiscal year— some of whom have been reportedly said to be on the FBI terror watch list. “That’s why Texas is having to step up and apprehend as many of these people as possible to make sure that they’re not posing a threat to our country‚ but this is a very serious existential threat to our country caused by Joe Biden‚” Abbott said. “And that’s exactly why Texas is taking extraordinary steps to try to crack down on it.” But under Abbott’s leadership‚ Texas reversed course last year by sending tens of thousands of migrants to so-called sanctuary cities run by Democrat officials — who were quick to voice criticism over the governor’s orders. Last week‚ Abbott bussed roughly 70‚000 immigrants to Democrat-run cities around the nation‚ including more than 12‚500 migrants to Washington D.C.‚ 25‚000 to New York City‚ 20‚000 to Chicago‚ 3‚200 to Philadelphia‚ 7‚400 to Denver‚ and over 1‚000 to Los Angeles. Texas officials also deployed deterrence buoys in the Rio Grande River earlier this year to reduce the number of illegal immigrants entering the U.S. Almost immediately after installing the floating barriers‚ Abbott’s administration found itself in legal battles with the Department of Justice‚ which argued the state unlawfully placed the buoys and that building any structure in US water would require permission from the United States Army Corps of Engineers. The 5th US Circuit Court of Appeals favored the Biden administration in its ongoing border battle with Texas by ordering the removal of the barriers‚ according to CNN. Abbott told Fox News on Sunday that the state would take the issue up to the Supreme Court if it fails in its next challenge in the lower court.

Graham Rips Critics Of Israel’s War On Hamas: ‘What Is Too Many People Dying In WWII After Pearl Harbor?’

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) ripped critics of Israel’s war against Hamas for suggesting that Israel should be stopped from wiping out the terrorist group because of collateral damage. Graham’s remarks on Sunday to CNN host Dana Bash on “State of the Union” come after Hamas murdered 1‚200 Israelis in an unprecedented terrorist attack in October. Graham then called out Vice President Kamalas Harris and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin for remarks that they have made criticizing the way Israel is executing their campaign against Hamas while providing no alternative solution for Israel. “I don’t want any innocent Palestinian to die‚ but how do you do this?” Graham asked. “Vice President Harris‚ tell Israel how to destroy Hamas in a way not to hurt innocent Palestinians‚ and I will pass it along. I don’t know how to do this‚ because Hamas is integrated into the apartments‚ the schools‚ and the hospitals. They have tunnels all over the place. The reason so many Palestinians are dying is because Hamas wants them to die. So if you have got ideas about lessening civilian casualties‚ let me know. I will tell Israel‚ or you tell them directly.” “But the idea of Hamas still standing when this is over would be the ultimate strategic failure‚” he added. When asked if he thought that too many Palestinian civilians had been killed‚ Graham noted that in World War II‚ many civilians were killed as the allies fought against the Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. “Well‚ tell us how to do it differently‚” Graham said. “Yes‚ what is too many people dying in World War II after Pearl Harbor? Did the American public worry about how many people were dying to destroy Tokyo and Berlin?” “I know this is not the same‚ but it’s similar. I mean‚ after October the 7th‚ Israel is at total war with Hamas. What they did‚ you won’t even show on television‚ probably because you can’t‚” he continued. “So‚ the bottom line here is‚ no Republican believes this‚ by the way. No Republican is telling Israel to change your military tactics‚ because I don’t know how to change them.” “I think the goal of destroying Hamas is important for Israel‚ really important for the Palestinians‚” he added. “And Hamas is making it impossible for Israel to fight without hurting innocent people.” WATCH:

Senator Graham On Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin: ‘I Have Just Lost All Confidence In This Guy’

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) criticized Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin’s job performance over the weekend‚ saying that his actions over the last two months‚ or a lack thereof‚ prove to him that Austin is not the right man for the job. Graham made the remarks during a Sunday interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” with host Dana Bash as U.S. forces have been attacked 75+ times over the last several weeks and the Iranian-backed terrorists behind the attacks have faced little response. Bash asked Graham about remarks Austin had recently made about Israel needing to reduce the number of alleged civilian casualties inside Gaza as they look to eliminate the terrorists responsible for the October 7 massacre. “He said‚ if you drive civilians into the arms of the enemy‚ you replace a tactical victory with a strategic defeat‚ which he’s saying that civilian casualties could create even more enemies‚” Bash said. “Does he have a point?” Graham responded: “No. He’s so naive. I mean‚ I have just lost all confidence in this guy.” “How about focusing on protecting our soldiers‚ men and women‚ in Syria and Iraq? Strategic defeat would be inflaming the Palestinians? They’re already inflamed‚” he continued. “They’re taught from the time they’re born to hate the Jews and to kill them. They’re taught math by‚ if you have 10 Jews‚ you kill six‚ how many would you have left?” “It’s like‚ this is a tranquil population only inflamed after Israel goes in to defend itself is really naive. This is a radicalized population. I don’t want to kill innocent people‚ but Israel is fighting not just Hamas‚ but the infrastructure around Hamas‚” he continued. “Look what happened to the Israeli hostages when they were presented to the Palestinian population. It’s beyond naive. Strategic failure is letting Hamas stand.” “This war has shown to me he doesn’t understand‚” Graham later added. “If we were attacked like this‚ which we were on 9/11‚ if somebody called for us within two months to have a cease-fire against al Qaeda‚ that would have been — we’d have laughed them out of town. We’d have run them out of town. Secretary Austin is telling Israel things that are impossible to achieve.” WATCH: Sec. Austin is wrong to suggest that strategic defeat for Israel would be inflaming the Palestinians. Journalist Suspects U.S. Govt Is ‘Covering Up Some Level’ Of UFO Knowledge

The U.S. government is not being fully transparent about what it knows about UFOs‚ according to a journalist who just wrote a book on the topic. Garrett Graff‚ author of “UFO: The Inside Story of the U.S. Government’s Search for Alien Life Here — and Out There‚” shared insights into his work as during an interview on NBC News Now with host Chuck Todd. “There is something real here‚” Graff said. “There are things out there in our airspace that we do not understand what they are and that those could represent exquisite new adversary technology‚ but they could also represent science that we don’t understand” in areas such as meteorology or astronomy. WATCH: @vermontgmg says he's convinced the government is "covering up some level" of its knowledge of UFOs — but not "meaningful knowledge of alien spacecraft; alien visitors." "I just don't see the extraordinary evidence or the fingers of a cover-up if that was the case." pic.twitter.com/Ms6HNIywJX — Meet the Press (@MeetThePress) December 3‚ 2023 “I believe that … the government is covering up some level of its knowledge and understanding about what some of those things are both in in terms of what chunk of that is our government’s own secret development programs — you know planes‚ drones‚ new technologies that we’re working on — as well as what we’re sensing and detecting of advanced adversary technology being tested against U.S. forces or around U.S. airspace‚” he continued. “What I’m unconvinced of‚” Graff added‚ “is that the government is covering up meaningful knowledge of alien spacecraft‚ alien visitors‚ extraterrestrial contact — I just don’t see the extraordinary evidence or the fingers of the cover up that one would expect if that was in fact the case.” Todd pressed Graff to comment on the recent strides by the U.S. government to publicly address unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) as reports of mysterious sightings grow and to engage with the scientific community. Graff described there being a “shift” since 2017 — when The New York Times made waves with a report on the Pentagon’s secretive efforts to study UFOs — in which “serious people are talking seriously about this in the national security circles in Washington and on Capitol Hill.” In recent months‚ there has been a push on Capitol Hill‚ led by a bipartisan group of House and Senate members to enact legislation to force more disclosures as part of a broader defense bill for the coming year. One of those lawmakers‚ Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN)‚ was also a guest on the program with Graff. “Our public wants to know what’s going on‚” the congressman said. But part of the “challenge” of identifying UAPs‚ Graff explained‚ is establishing a “baseline” with the help of sensors and other instruments for what may be zipping around the Earth on a typical basis. He did not completely rule out the prospect of extraterrestrial crafts‚ positing that they may be “passing all around us all of the time and we don’t have the technology adequate to notice” — considering factors such as size and movement speeds across a vast expanse.

Priebus Rejects ‘Democracy On The Ballot’ Attack on Trump

The “democracy is on the ballot” line is a weak argument to use against former President Donald Trump‚ according to a former top GOP official who served in his administration. Reince Priebus‚ a Republican National Committee chairman who became Trump’s first chief of staff‚ rejected the mantra embraced by President Joe Biden during a TV appearance on Sunday. “I just don’t buy this democracy on the ballot and … all of this nonsense about Trump‚” he said on ABC’s “This Week.” Former RNC chair @Reince rejects warnings from Democrats about potential Trump-Biden rematch in 2024. “How they can claim on one hand democracy is on the ballot and sit there with a historically weak candidate is unbelievable.” https://t.co/SP7oSL0KUx pic.twitter.com/N7NP62ket0 — This Week (@ThisWeekABC) December 3‚ 2023 Pressed to explain his view‚ Priebus referred to Biden’s weak poll numbers ahead of a possible 2024 rematch against Trump‚ who is facing his own challenges — particularly with a bevy of criminal and civil cases — even as he maintains GOP frontrunner status. “If democracy was on the ballot‚ the Democrats wouldn’t be sitting there with a candidate with the worst numbers since they’ve been taking polling‚” he said. Priebus asserted that Trump and former President Barack Obama also faced some “bad” poll numbers‚ but remained popular within their own parties. By comparison‚ Priebus noted‚ Biden is “in the tank” with fellow Democrats. “How they can claim on one hand democracy is on the ballot and sit there with a historically weak candidate is unbelievable‚” Priebus added. Biden made headlines last year when he declared that “democracy is on the ballot” ahead of the midterm elections‚ hearkening back to the U.S. Capitol breach on January 6‚ 2021‚ and challenges to the 2020 election results by Trump and his allies. He has echoed that sentiment more recently in reference to his own re-election effort while casting his bid as a fight against “Trump and his MAGA Republicans.” New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman‚ another panelist on “This Week‚” suggested the strategy could be sufficient to defeat Trump. “There are enough independent and swing voters who are concerned about democracy being on the ballot‚” she said. Donna Brazile‚ a former head of the Democratic National Committee‚ argued that Biden would do well to keep contrasting himself to Trump. “I’m glad that they’ve pivoted towards talking about Donald Trump and the future he has painted for all of us as Americans. I hope they continue to draw sharp lines because Joe Biden will need that‚” she said. But Priebus contended that making the focus about Trump is a “big problem” for the Biden team because there are a number of other candidates still in the mix.

Female Democrat Demands ‘Balance’ In Condemnation Of Hamas Raping Israeli Women‚ And CNN’s Dana Bash Stops Her Cold

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) said that criticisms of Hamas should be “balanced” with criticisms of Israel during a Sunday morning appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union‚” and anchor Dana Bash quickly made it clear that she was not having any of that. Bash began the conversation by pressing Jayapal about Hamas’ use of rape and sexual violence against Israeli women during the brutal terror attack on Israel on October 7th — which left more than 1‚200 Israelis dead‚ many of them women and children. She also noted that there had been a marked silence‚ particularly from progressive women who claimed to be staunch defenders of women’s rights‚ when the victims of such sexualized violence happened to be Israeli. WATCH: Rep. Pramila Jayapal on CNN on condemning Hamas's sexual violence: "I think we have to be balanced about bringing in the outrages against Palestinians." Dana Bash replies‚ "You don't see Israeli soldiers raping Palestinian women." pic.twitter.com/Lac7QI4bHx — Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) December 3‚ 2023 Jayapal responded by quickly saying that “of course” she condemned Hamas and all instances of rape and sexual violence‚ but pivoted almost immediately to suggest that Israel was not adhering to international law in its response to the October 7th massacre. “I’ve seen a lot of Progressive women. Generally speaking‚ they’re quick to defend women’s rights and to speak out against using rape as a weapon of war‚ but downright silent on what we saw on October 7th and what might be happening inside Gaza right now to these hostages‚” Bash began. “Why is that?” “I don’t know that that’s true. I think we always talk about the impact of war on women in particular‚” Jayapal replied‚ adding that “of course” she had condemned Hamas’ use of rape as a weapon of war. But then she pivoted‚ saying‚ “If they do not comply with international humanitarian law‚ they are bringing themselves to a place that makes it much more difficult strategically for them to be able to build allies‚ to keep public opinion with them‚ and frankly‚ morally‚ I think we cannot say that one war crime deserves another. That is not what international humanitarian law says.” “With respect‚ I was just asking about the women‚ and you turned it back to Israel. I’m asking you about Hamas‚” Bash pushed back. “I already answered your question‚ Dana. I said it’s horrific‚ and I think that rape is horrific. Sexual assault is horrific. I think that it happens in war situations. Terrorist organizations like Hamas obviously are using these as tools‚” Jayapal replied‚ and pivoted again — this time citing the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry’s claims regarding the alleged civilian death toll. “However‚ I think we have to be balanced about bringing in the outrages against Palestinians. Fifteen thousand Palestinians have been killed in Israeli air strikes‚ three-quarters of whom are women and children …” she said. “And it’s horrible‚” Bash agreed‚ stopping Jayapal cold: “But you don’t see Israeli soldiers raping Palestinian women.” Jayapal attempted to deflect once more‚ pivoting back to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and saying‚ “I don’t want this to be the hierarchies of oppression.”
