Mama Tiger allows instincts to take over when one of her twin cubs comes out “lifeless”

In an Australian zoo‚ a tiger named Katelin was about to make headlines‚ but not for the reasons you’d expect. This wasn’t her debut in a tiger talent show or a new painting exhibition (yes‚ tigers can be artists too!). Katelin was in labor‚ and with twins! The zoo staff‚ huddled around a tiny TV‚... 2 teenagers die while 'surfing' on transit train in San Francisco for social media challenge‚ officials say

Two teenagers were reportedly killed when they tried a social media challenge by "surfing" on top of a moving transit train in San Francisco‚ California. The separate incidents were documented in a report by KTVU-TV. On Sunday morning‚ at about 9 a.m.‚ a young man tried to ride atop the train out of San Francisco to Millbrae and died when he fell off the Bay Area Rapid Transit train. Gateway Charter School in San Francisco confirmed the death of a student without identifying the teenager. "We received the heartbreaking news that one of our students died on Sunday. First and foremost‚ our condolences go out to the student’s family‚" read a statement from interim Executive Director Aaron Watson. "Whenever there is any loss in a school community‚ it is‚ of course‚ a traumatic event – for the family‚ classmates‚ teachers and staff‚" he added. "We remain in touch with the family and have taken steps to provide support and resources for our students as we move through this difficult time as a community."The victim's mother‚ who did not want to be identified‚ told the San Francisco Standard that she had taken away the teen's access to his Instagram account where he posted he videos‚ but it didn't stop him. The second incident was reported by Marina Baran‚ who told the Standard her son Daniel Baran had died after falling while BART surfing and getting hit by the train. "My son attempted to do it on Jan 29th‚ he fell and was run by the train‚" she wrote on an Instagram post to dissuade others from trying the dangerous challenge. "The funeral was yesterday. Your parents are lucky that you are alive." "Your life isn’t worth 15 seconds of video you post on Instagram for clout" A person who identified himself as a transit worker issued an impassioned plea to young people to stop trying to copy the dangerous challenge. "Nobody who works in transit wants to deal with anything involved. Nobody wants to have to place a phone call to your significant others or family telling them that your body is in 15 different pieces in the trackway. No train operator deserves to be haunted by the results of some individual's stupidity‚ and a sense of guilt that follows‚" read the message on Reddit. "No parent deserves to lose their kid doing something as boneheaded as this‚" the worker added. "There’s a reason trains have seats inside. That’s where you’re supposed to be when you’re riding the train. Not on the roof‚ not on the back coupler‚ not hanging off the side. Your life isn’t worth 15 seconds of video you post on Instagram for clout. Please‚ please‚ please don’t ‘surf’ trains. It’s just not cool." Here's the report from KTVU: Like Blaze News? Trump and sons ordered to pay $364 million in business fraud case and to stop operating in New York for 3 years

Trump and sons ordered to pay $364 million in business fraud case and to stop operating in New York for 3 years

Former President Donald Trump and his sons were ordered to pay $364 million over a lawsuit in a New York state Supreme Court on Friday. The civil lawsuit was filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James and claimed that Trump defrauded banks and other organizations by over-estimating the value of his properties in order to secure favorable bank loans and other benefits.New York state Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron had previously ruled in September that Trump had indeed committed fraud and on Friday‚ he issued his ruling on the penalty. "There is overwhelming evidence from both interested and non-interested witnesses‚ corroborated by documentary evidence‚ that the buck for being truthful in the supporting data valuations stopped with the Trump Organization‚ not the accountants‚" the judge wrote. Engoron said in the 91-page ruling that the president's son Eric Trump is liable for the amount of $4 million and also that his other son Donald Trump Jr. is liable for the amount of $4 million. The ruling also forbids Trump from "serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation or other legal entity in New York for a period of three years." Trump's attorneys argued that the real estate valuations were very subjective and also claimed that there were no victims identified in the case. The case became sensationalized after the former president vehemently criticized Engoron's clerk for posting a photograph of herself with Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York. Engoron fined Trump and threatened to issue greater penalties unless he stopped attacking the judge and his clerks. One minor victory for Trump is that the judge rescinded a previous order that would invalidate any business certificates for Trump and his organization in the state of New York. That penalty was shot down and delayed by an appeals court in October. Engoron excoriated the defendants for not showing remorse in the case. "Their complete lack of contrition and remorse borders on pathological‚" he wrote. "They are accused only of inflating asset values to make more money. The documents prove this over and over again. This is a venial sin‚ not a mortal sin. Defendants did not commit murder or arson. They did not rob a bank at gunpoint. Donald Trump is not Bernard Madoff. Yet‚ defendants are incapable of admitting the error of their ways." Alina Habba‚ the former president's attorney‚ called the ruling a "a manifest injustice — plain and simple."A spokesperson for the Trump Organization decried the ruling as a "a gross miscarriage of justice. The Trump Organization has never missed any loan payment or been in default on any loan."Former federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti described the order as "a devastating result for Trump and his businesses" on CNN. Special education teacher faces felony criminal sexual conduct charge for allegedly having sex with student in motel rooms

A former Minnesota special education teacher is accused of renting motel rooms on several occasions to have sex with a student.Ann Margaret Bacon‚ 24‚ was arrested and charged on Monday in Ramsey County District Court with one count of felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct‚ according to a criminal complaint.Bacon‚ of Hastings‚ is a former teacher of students with developmental and cognitive disabilities at Tartan High School in Oakdale‚ Minnesota. She was also a varsity assistant for the dance team for two years‚ according to KSTP-TV. A witness reportedly told school officials that Bacon was having a sexual relationship with a student. However‚ Bacon denied having "inappropriate interactions with students‚" and no disciplinary action was taken because there was no apparent evidence‚ USA Today reported. In July‚ a witness informed law enforcement that Bacon and the victim allegedly began having sex in May 2023‚ according to court records. At the time‚ the victim was reportedly still a student in Bacon's class. According to the criminal complaint‚ the witness alleged that Bacon provided alcohol to minors and "smoked weed" with the juveniles. Bacon denied purchasing alcohol for minors. The witness reported Bacon again this month‚ stressing her role "as a special education teacher‚ who had access to vulnerable students‚" the complaint stated. A police investigation reportedly revealed that Bacon met the minor for sexual relations on four different occasions at a motel in Vadnais Heights between May 8 and July 4.Bacon allegedly told investigators that she rented the motel room a "handful" of times to have sex with the student because she was living with her parents at the time. She reportedly got her own apartment in St. Paul in July‚ and the victim visited her that month and they engaged in sexual activity. A second witness told investigators that she was in a relationship with the victim‚ but it ended in January 2024 after discovering he was still in contact with Bacon. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported‚ "The ex-girlfriend said she found sexually explicit messages and nude photos of Bacon on the victim’s phone. Some of the images‚ including videos of Bacon drinking with the student and his friends were from May 2023."Bacon initially denied having sex with the student‚ according to the complaint. The complaint said Bacon told police that the relationship with the student began in July 2023 but later confessed to having sex with the victim in May 2023 after investigators noted they had photographic evidence to the contrary. The alleged victim informed investigators that the pair first had sex in July 2023 and denied having a sexual relationship with Bacon before his graduation‚ according to the complaint. He allegedly told police that he and the teacher were exclusively dating. The alleged victim is an 18-year-old male. "Although the student was technically an adult when the sexual encounters took place‚ people in positions of power‚ such as teachers‚ can still be fired and charged under state laws that govern the act of professional misconduct‚" according to the Daily Mail.Bacon resigned from her teaching position at Tartan High School on Thursday. Tartan High School principal‚ Bethany DeCent‚ sent a letter to parents that read: I am writing to inform you of the recent resignation of a Tartan teacher‚ Ann Bacon. We have been informed by local law enforcement that Ann Bacon is being investigated for alleged misconduct. Please be assured that the trust and safety of our students remain our utmost priority. We are cooperating fully with law enforcement’s investigation and will continue to do so throughout the process. We understand that this news affects our school community.
