Nir Barkat‚ the former mayor of Jerusalem from 2008-2018 and the current Israeli Minister of the Economy‚ made it clear that Israel was not just fighting for itself in its war against Hamas‚ but for the West against the onslaught of radical Islamic terrorism. Barkat appeared on Fox News with host Neil Cavuto. He noted of the Hamas massacre of 1400 Israelis on October 7‚ “You saw the atrocities; you saw how they burned people alive; you saw how they raped women and put a little baby in the oven and cook him. We saw all the atrocities; they filmed it themselves. They were proud of it … they’re monsters.” Referring to the United States‚ he continued. “We will never forget our friends. You folks have stood behind us at the toughest times Israel has ever had in its existence. And we will never forget that.” Cavuto pointed out that after the October 7 massacre of 1400 Israelis by Hamas‚ many people around the world only gave Israel their sympathy for a couple of days‚ noting‚ “You only had a few days of global sort of support and sympathy after the October 7 attack‚ and that was it.” “The atrocities are worse than the Nazis; Nazis hid the atrocities‚” Barkat responded. “And Hamas‚ ISIS‚ didn’t even hide it; they’re proud of it. … In the war against Germany‚ I don’t remember anybody asking for any kind of humanitarian gestures. Just complete 100% surrender. This is what will happen to Hamas.” “And we in Israel have a very soft heart for people‚” Barkat noted “We don’t want to hit any innocent people. We hide our people in shelters [from Hamas rockets]‚ they don’t. They hide behind their citizens; they’re using our people [the hostages] as human shields. And we have to go through this and make sure that we don’t hurt innocent people and we enable them to flow back to safety on the southern part of Gaza when we attack the north part. We don’t need the world to tell us; we know we will be as considerate as possible.” “However‚ we will wipe Hamas off the face of the Earth. No compromise‚” he continued. “You know‚ this is not just for Israel‚” he stated. “There’s a reason why the Arab states‚ the moderate Arab states are waiting for us to beat Hamas. There’s a reason‚ because the world understands that if the Islamic Jihad is successful in this horrendous attack and they get away with it‚ it’s going to happen all over the world. That’s why we have to win and have total surrender. And we need the help of the world. Give us the time we need. We’re considerate‚ we don’t want to hurt innocent people‚ but we have to wipe Hamas off the face of the Earth.”

A Texas woman was found guilty on Thursday of killing a professional cyclist as part of a love triangle gone wrong. Kaitlin Marie Armstrong‚ 35‚ was found guilty of fatally shooting Anna Moriah “Mo” Wilson in Austin‚ Texas‚ back in May 2022. The jury took less than two hours to come to their verdict‚ People Magazine reported. Armstrong faces life in prison. Armstrong killed Wilson because the professional cyclist had briefly dated Armstrong’s on-again-off-again boyfriend while the two were on a break. Armstrong’s ex-boyfriend‚ professional cyclist Colin Strickland‚ testified at the trial about Armstrong’s jealousy and their “tumultuous” relationship. Strickland said that he had once loved Armstrong but wasn’t sure about a long-term relationship with her‚ which caused tension in the relationship. The couple lived together even though they took breaks in their relationship‚ ABC News reported. During these breaks‚ Strickland said‚ Armstrong would confront him if she found out he was talking to other women. In October 2021‚ Strickland met Wilson at a cycling race in Bentonville‚ Arkansas. He testified that he and Armstrong broke up shortly after the race. Strickland began dating Wilson when she was in Austin for a race. He then learned that Armstrong had confronted the other woman about the relationship‚ which Strickland said was “strange and unnerving” since he didn’t remember telling Armstrong about Wilson. When Wilson left Austin for another race‚ she and Strickland stopped dating but remained friends. Strickland and Armstrong got back together by December 2021. During this time‚ he would text with Wilson on a “professional” basis – discussing gear‚ races‚ and sponsorship opportunities‚ he said. But to “avoid conflict” with Armstrong‚ Strickland testified that he deleted his messages with Wilson and changed her name in his phone to “Christine Wall.” On May 11‚ 2022‚ Strickland met with Wilson‚ who was in Austin again for a race. The two went swimming‚ ate burgers‚ and drank beer before he dropped her off at a friend’s house. He didn’t tell Armstrong about his day with Wilson but knew Armstrong had access to his Apple account and was able to view his messages with her. The next day‚ police arrived at Strickland’s home to tell him Wilson had been murdered. He was brought in for questioning‚ but police soon turned their attention to Armstrong. An affidavit filed in relation to the federal case against Armstrong described evidence that Armstrong had committed the murder. “According to a witness‚ Armstrong expressed a desire to kill [Wilson] in January 2022‚ based on a personal grievance toward [Wilson]‚” the affidavit said‚ according to the Boston Globe. “A surveillance camera recorded what appears to be Armstrong’s vehicle near the scene of [Wilson’s] murder at the approximate time the murder occurred.” The filing also said that a pistol belonging to Armstrong had been retrieved from her home during a search and that “Laboratory test-firing of Armstrong’s pistol confirmed that it fired the spent shell casings that [Austin police] found at the scene of the murder.” Wilson was a star skier through college before switching to cycling and gravitating toward “gravel racing‚” described as a sport sitting between road cycling and mountain biking. She was favored to win a 157-mile race on May 14 but was shot and killed days earlier‚ on May 11. Police quickly honed in on Armstrong and brought her in for questioning. Days later‚ on May 14‚ Armstrong flew from Austin‚ Texas‚ where Wilson was killed‚ to Houston‚ and then from Houston to LaGuardia Airport in New York. From there‚ she traveled to Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey and then flew to San Jose‚ Costa Rica. A homicide warrant for Armstrong’s arrest was issued on May 18‚ the day she flew to Costa Rica. On May 25‚ a federal warrant charged her with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. Armstrong was found at a hostel in Santa Teresa Beach in Provincia de Puntarenas‚ the Globe reported.

One TikTok video questioning that portion of the show went viral‚ with the content creator saying‚ “This is Taylor Swift’s song ‘Willow’ where she is a witch during rituals. The first video you saw was taken by a fan the other night at the concert‚ and he says‚ ‘Yes‚ summon the demons‚ b*tch!’” Swift herself commented on the original video‚ suggesting that “summon the demons‚ b*tch” could replace the current crowd chant‚ “1‚ 2‚ 3‚ let’s go b*tch‚” which many fans already say at her shows. She added several laughing-crying emojis‚ indicating she believed it was all a big joke. Other videos of movie audiences screening the movie version of the singer’s concert‚ “Taylor Swift: The Era’s Tour‚” depict theater attendees dancing in circles during the “Willow” portion of the film.  Before the Eras Tour‚ Swift faced negative feedback about the official music video for “Willow‚” which also includes occult and ritualistic imagery. In the video‚ Swift goes into the woods at night with other individuals in hooded cloaks and masks. They all dance around a fire in a display that some deemed a celebration of witchcraft. During a 2020 YouTube Q&;A‚ Swift said the instrumentals for the song reminded her of spell-casting‚ which was her reasoning for including those visuals despite them not matching up to the lyrics of the song. “Willow is about intrigue‚ desire and the complexity that goes into wanting someone. I think it sounds like casting a spell to make someone fall in love with you (an oddly specific visual)‚” she said at the time. The Grammy Award-winning artist mentioned witchcraft again with an X post about a new remix of “Willow” she shared in December 2020.  “Witches be like ‘Sometimes I just want to listen to music while pining away/sulking/staring out a window.’ It’s me. It’s a brief moment and doesn’t encompass the whole aesthetic of the video‚ but it does help add fuel to the fire of anyone looking to associate Swift with witchcraft. Finally‚ some critics online who equate Swift with witchcraft reference the highly publicized phenomenon of Eras Tour concertgoers experiencing “post-concert amnesia” and not remembering attending the show. “Thinking back on it‚ I don’t have any one specific memory I can recall‚ it’s more like an overall memory of the event‚” attendee Danielle Lake-Patterson Dickson told ABC News in an article published in October. Nicole Booz related her experience to The New York Post in May‚ describing it as “an out-of-body experience‚ as though it didn’t really happen to me.” While most fans blame this feeling on being so excited for the event that their brain can’t process it‚ a few social media users suggest that something more sinister could be at play. One Christian YouTuber dove into the rumors‚ explaining how some fans think Swift is “casting spells that are causing memory loss” from the stage. He said while some blame the amnesia on “sensory overload‚” others insist it’s more like “demonic overload.” Ultimately‚ there’s not enough evidence available to call Swift a practicing witch. But as long as she keeps incorporating occult imagery into her performances‚ the rumors will likely persist. Especially if the “Bad Blood” composer keeps talking about it.

A 35-year-old Christian man is in critical condition after being shot in the head while preaching to passersby on a street corner in Glendale‚ Arizona.  Hans Schmidt was standing at the corner of a major intersection on Wednesday‚ telling people about a church service being held that evening‚ Fox 10 reported. At around 6:00 p.m.‚ a person shot the street preacher before fleeing the scene. Schmidt‚ a military veteran and father of two young children — including a two-month-old baby — was rushed to hospital where he is now fighting for his life.  “My husband was shot in the head yesterday while street preaching on the corner of 51st Ave and Peoria If anyone has any info please contact 911‚” Schmidt’s wife Zulya posted on Instagram. “Thank you for your prayers. Believing God has the final say. He remains in critical condition‚ please continue praying‚” the church said. Schmidt’s wife posted again on Instagram Friday morning‚ writing‚ “I love you my handsome cowboy. Keep fighting papi. We need you!!”   Paul Sanchez‚ who works at a business close to where the shooting took place‚ said he saw some people drive by‚ screaming and cursing at Schmidt as he preached.  “There was a lot of everything‚ really‚ hateful comments‚ people yelling at him‚ ‘get off the street‚’ all sorts of mean things‚” he told 3TV and CBS 5 News. Sanchez added that he was shocked when the situation escalated since Schmidt never responded to anyone who yelled at him.  Henry Branch‚ who lives near the intersection where Schmidt was shot‚ said he was stunned to learn of what happened.  “Who knows why someone would want to take it out on a preacher like that because he’s speaking the gospel and good news to everybody. He’s out to help the community.”  Police are still looking for a suspect and asking anyone with information about the shooting to call them at 623-930-3000 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS. It remains unclear if Schmidt was shot by someone driving by in a car or a person who approached him on the street‚ 3TV and CBS 5 News reported. 

The judge who oversaw Alex Murdaugh’s murder trial will not oversee any of the proceedings regarding his bid for a new trial. Murdaugh’s defense team has repeatedly asked that South Carolina Circuit Judge Clifton Newman be removed from Murdaugh’s future cases‚ Fox News reported. Newman previously sentenced Murdaugh to two consecutive life sentences without parole for the murder of his wife‚ Maggie‚ and youngest son Paul‚ following a guilty verdict. The defense team has argued that Newman shouldn’t oversee more of Murdaugh’s proceedings since he is a witness in an issue that would factor into the case for a new trial. That issue relates to concerns the defense team has about Colleton County court clerk Becky Hill‚ whom attorneys Jim Griffin and Dick Harpootlian have accused of tampering with jurors to sway them toward a guilty verdict so she could get a book deal. The attorneys filed a motion back in September to the South Carolina Court of Appeals arguing that Hill “tampered with the jury by advising them not to believe Murdaugh’s testimony and other evidence presented by the defense‚ pressuring them to reach a quick guilty verdict‚ and even misrepresenting critical and material information to the trial judge in her campaign to remove a juror she believed to be favorable to the defense.” The filing‚ reviewed by CNN‚ went on to accuse Hill of seeking a book deal during the trial. “Ms. Hill did these things to secure for herself a book deal and media appearances that would not happen in the event of a mistrial. Ms. Hill betrayed her oath of office for money and fame. Once these 2 facts are proven‚ the law does not allow the Court any discretion about how to respond. It must grant a new trial‚” the filing said. The filing cites at least three sworn affidavits‚ CNN reported‚ including one from a juror who decided Murdaugh’s fate and another who was dismissed. It also includes excerpts from Hill’s book‚ titled “Behind the Doors of Justice: The Murdaugh Murders‚” which was published in August. A jury found Murdaugh guilty of murder on March 2‚ and he was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences. The decision came after just a few hours of deliberation and a six-week trial where more than 70 witnesses testified. Murdaugh has maintained his innocence‚ suggesting his son Paul was the main target for the murders due to his involvement in a 2019 boat crash that killed 19-year-old Mallory Beach. Murdaugh spent nearly two days testifying in his own defense at his trial and immediately admitted to lying for years about his whereabouts on the day his wife and son were murdered. The prosecution had already argued that Murdaugh lied about not going to the dog kennels on the day his wife and son were murdered. Prosecutor Creighton Waters previously pointed to cell phone evidence taken from Paul’s phone less than five minutes before he was killed. Paul had filmed one of the dogs to send to a friend‚ and prosecutors allege Murdaugh’s voice can be heard in the background of the recording. Murdaugh has said he wasn’t at the kennels that night. Prosecutors said that Murdaugh murdered his wife and son around 8:49 p.m.‚ just a few minutes after the video was taken. When Murdaugh took the stand‚ his defense attorneys asked him if he had lied to police about his whereabouts on the night his family was murdered‚ and Murdaugh admitted to lying. “I lied about being down there‚ and I’m so sorry that I did‚” Murdaugh said‚ according to People Magazine. Murdaugh maintained that he did not murder his wife and son‚ whom he referred to by nicknames “Mags” and “Paul Paul.” He claimed during his testimony that his alleged drug addiction made him “paranoid‚” which caused him to lie.
