Three Ivy League Colleges Among Seven Schools Facing Education Department Probe Over Anti-Semitism‚ Anti-Muslim Allegations

Columbia University‚ Cornell University‚ and University of Pennsylvania are among seven schools being investigated for alleged incidents of anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim harassment‚ the Education Department announced on Thursday. Other schools facing the probe are Lafayette College‚ Wellesley College‚ The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art‚ and a public school district in Kansas‚ the Maize Unified School District. The investigation reportedly involves five allegations of anti-Semitic harassment and two complaints of anti-Muslim harassment. The Education Department did not disclose which schools are facing which allegations. However‚ the University of Pennsylvania and Wellesley were accused of anti-Semitism in federal complaints filed last week by a Jewish legal advocacy group. The group cited an email from Wellesley dorm advisors that allegedly stated that “there should be no space‚ no consideration‚ and no support for Zionism” at Wellesley. Wellesley reportedly confirmed that the Education Department’s investigation is in response to the complaint from the advocacy group. The school also said in a statement that Wellesley “responded quickly and decisively” to the dorm email incident. The Jewish advocacy group also claimed University of Pennsylvania professors have made anti-Semitic comments in the classroom and on social media and that the university has not done enough to support Jewish students while pro-Palestinian rallies are held on campus. Also this month‚ the University of Pennsylvania alerted the FBI to a series of threatening anti-Semitic emails sent to university staff. University of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill said the school “has made clear antisemitism is vile and pernicious and has no place at Penn‚” adding that the university will “continue to vigilantly combat antisemitism and all forms of hate.” Earlier this month‚ a Cornell University student was arrested and federally charged for allegedly posting threats to kill Cornell’s Jewish students. Cornell canceled all classes on November 3 amid “extraordinary stress” over the situation. The schools being scrutinized by the probe risk losing federal funding if they do not comply with recommendations the Department of Education gives them at the end of the investigations. “Hate has no place in our schools‚ period. When students are targeted because they are — or are perceived to be — Jewish‚ Muslim‚ Arab‚ Sikh or any other ethnicity or shared ancestry‚ schools must act to ensure safe and inclusive educational environments where everyone is free to learn‚” Education Secretary Miguel Cardona said in a statement on Thursday. The investigations come in the wake of October 7‚ when Palestinian terror group Hamas launched deadly terrorist attacks on Israel that killed more than 1‚400 people‚ including women and children. Israel has responded with airstrikes and a ground offensive. Since Hamas’ attack‚ college campuses have been rocked by pro-Palestinian protests and allegations of anti-Semitic incidents on campus. At New York University (NYU) this week‚ a group of Jewish students filed a lawsuit against the school alleging the school has allowed a climate of anti-Semitism to fester on campus‚ leaving Jewish students feeling “under siege.” Before that‚ a law firm rescinded its job offer to an NYU law student who made what the firms said were “inflammatory comments” about Hamas’ attack. At Harvard University‚ the student Palestine Solidarity Committee and 30 other student groups signed a statement that said Israel’s “apartheid regime is the only one to blame” for Hamas’ attacks. At least 10 CEOs and other executives backed a call last month not to hire the students who signed onto that letter. Earlier this month‚ the Department of Education also launched a federal anti-Semitism probe into Oberlin College over a professor of peace studies who called for the elimination of Israel.

8 Scorching ‘South Park’ Episodes That Left A Mark

“South Park” doesn’t believe in half measures. The Comedy Central series has been delivering brutal takedowns since its very first season. The pandemic. Trans athletes. The King of Pop. Paris Hilton. Jesse Jackson. PC gone wild. Name the subject‚ and chances are Stan‚ Kenny‚ Kyle‚ and Cartman have tackled it‚ sans apology. The following eight episodes offer “South Park” unleashed. Pity the targets of the show’s satirical cudgel. They may never recover from the animated tongue lashing. 1. “With Apologies to Jesse Jackson” – Season 11‚ episode 1 IMDB. South Park. Stan Marsh’s father‚ Randy‚ accidentally says the “n-word” as a contestant on “Wheel of Fortune.” He’s quickly branded a racist‚ and the reverberations fall on both his son and the boys’ elementary school. The episode mocks Jackson for pretending to be the embodiment of black America while initiating a tough conversation about race and the word in question. It’s blunt satire‚ full stop‚ and an example of how “South Park” is willing to explore complicated issues from various angles. It’s not a lecture‚ and the laughs are both consistent and‚ often‚ uncomfortable. CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING GUIDE 2. “Board Girls” Season 23‚ Episode 7 South Park ‘Board Girls’ episode. IMDB. It’s the episode even “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone may not be able to get away with today given the trans community’s rage against criticism. The episode aired in 2019 before the trans issue flared up across the country. Vice Principal Strong Woman announces she’s entering a Strong Woman competition‚ in part‚ to inspire female students to be empowered. She’s upstaged by a biological man who transitioned to womanhood mere weeks ago. And the trans athlete happens to look and sound like Randy “Macho Man” Savage‚ the wrestling icon from the ‘80s and ‘90s. Chaos ensues‚ naturally‚ with the storyline echoing future conversations about trans athletes and biological differences. Clips from the episode went viral earlier this year‚ connecting the 2019 satire with modern conversations on the topic. 3. “The Worldwide Privacy Tour” Season 26‚ Episode 2 IMDB. South Park. The couple known by their first names‚ Harry and Meghan‚ enjoy a rarefied space in pop culture. Mock the duo relentlessly and suffer the consequences. Just ask Piers Morgan‚ who did just that and lost a high-profile gig with “Good Morning Britain.” “South Park” turned that cultural protection racket on its head. The episode features a Canadian royal couple who wish to be left alone. And they’ll shout their wishes from the rooftops until every living soul hears them. It’s obviously Harry and Meghan‚ and the secondary plot involving a quest for victimhood makes the comedy bite even harder. After the episode aired we learned about Meghan Markle’s dubious podcasting tics‚ a story that may not have been told if “South Park” hadn’t made it culturally acceptable to do so. Her feminist podcast ended after just one season.  4. “The Jeffersons” Season 8‚ Episode 6 IMDB. South Park. What if the biggest pop star on the planet moved to South Park? Even more improbable? An animated series skewers him in ways many were thinking but couldn’t discuss in polite society. Yes‚ the Mr. Jefferson in question is a Michael Jackson stand-in‚ complete with a child named Blanket. The new neighbor can’t connect with adults and dresses like Peter Pan for his young South Park friends. When the adults accuse him of oddball behavior he cries‚ “that’s ignorant” in a high-pitched whine. Later‚ Mr. Jefferson’s face begins to crumble after one too many plastic surgeries. We all knew about Jackson’s eccentricities‚ but “South Park” lined them all up for our inspection in one withering‚ 30-minute broadside.  A subplot‚ riffing on the O.J. Simpson case‚ finds local police trying to frame Mr. Jefferson because he’s wealthy and black. Satire atop satire‚ and all of it stings.  5. “ManBearPig” Season 10‚ Episode 6 IMDB. South Park. Former Vice President Al Gore’s climate change mantras are rarely‚ if ever‚ questioned in the media. He’s considered an oracle on the subject‚ even though he’s profited off his declarations and some of his predictions have been less than accurate. “South Park” mocked him all the same. The episode finds an animated Al Gore tracking down the evil ManBearPig‚ a creature which feasts on innocent humans. It’s clearly a metaphor for Climate Change‚ and the episode depicts Gore as an attention seeker first and foremost. Few‚ if any‚ satirists approached Gore in such a fashion before or after the episode. 6. “Joining the Panderverse” 326th stand-alone episode  IMDB. South Park. Parker and Stone pay homage to countless YouTubers who have been calling out Kathleen Kennedy’s disastrous Disney tenure. She’s been behind the wheel as “Star Wars‚” the MCU‚ and “Indiana Jones” took sizable stumbles. The episode finds Cartman dreaming of an alternate universe where he and his buddies are swapped out for diverse versions of themselves. It gets meaner. Cartman boils down the Kennedy ethos into a phrase sure to become as ubiquitous as “yada yada yada” and “Not that there’s anything wrong with that” from “Seinfeld.” “Put a chick in it and make her gay!” 7 &; 8. “Cartoon Wars Parts I &; II” Season 10‚ episodes 3 and 4  IMDB. South Park. The show featured a bizarre cross-promotion with FOX’s “Family Guy” sitcom. The latter plans to show a character based on Islamic Prophet Muhammad‚ sending the town of South Park into a frenzy. Could the series spark violence in the Colorado town or elsewhere? The two-part episode matters for several reasons. Parker and Stone took the free speech fight into the public arena‚ coming after the attacks against a Danish newspaper for publishing a cartoon image of the Prophet. Plus‚ it’s rare to see Parker and Stone lose a public fight with Comedy Central. The channel opted not to show the Muhammad character illustrated for the series‚ showing a black screen when the image was supposed to appear. Later‚ these episodes and several more with similar themes have been yanked from various streaming platforms. * * * CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILY WIRE APP Christian Toto is an award-winning journalist‚ movie critic and editor of HollywoodInToto.com. Arizona State Cancels Event With Democrat Rashida Tlaib After She Called For Genocide Of Israel: Report

Arizona State University canceled an event that the school was set to host on Friday featuring Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI)‚ which comes after she openly expressed support for the elimination of the state of Israel. The Arizona Republic reported that the event‚ dubbed “Palestine is an American Issue‚” was set to be hosted by the far-Left group Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP)‚ according to a bipartisan group of Arizona state lawmakers. The event was canceled after the lawmakers signed a letter titled‚ “Congresswoman Tlaib’s Extremist‚ Antisemitic Views Are Not Welcome in the State of Arizona.” “The State of Arizona is a safe place for Jews‚ both on and off campus‚ and the antisemitic rants regurgitated by SJP and others are not representative of Arizona values‚” the lawmakers said. “Students supporting Israel have been verbally and physically assaulted on campus in recent days‚ requiring police escort during SJP rallies.” The lawmakers noted Tlaib’s repeated anti-Semitic remarks and her “support [for] the destruction of the state of Israel.” “She has a history of espousing such a view both before and following the deadly October 7 terrorist attacks against Israel that were perpetrated by the pro-Palestinian Hamas terrorist organization‚” they said. “We believe that such extremist‚ antisemitic views should be condemned‚ and they are not welcome in the state of Arizona.” The lawmakers said that the extremist SJP‚ which private universities and the state of Florida have taken action against‚ should be focused on a toddler with ties to the state who was kidnapped by Hamas. “We ask that Arizonans say a prayer for Abigail Edan and her family‚” they said. “Abigail is a three-year-old girl with ties to Arizona and was taken hostage by Hamas terrorists in Gaza after they murdered her parents. Rather than honor Congresswoman Tlaib for a speaking engagement‚ SJP should be calling for Abigail’s immediate safe release in time for her fourth birthday next week.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILY WIRE APP UPDATE: Arizona State University has cancelled the event featuring antisemite Rashida Tlaib this evening. https://t.co/WF2Cia1wQK — StopAntisemitism (@StopAntisemites) November 17‚ 2023 Tlaib was censured by the U.S. House of Representatives last week for her support of genocide against the state of Israel. In a 234-188 vote‚ 22 Democrats joined 212 Republicans in voting for the censure while four Republicans voted against it. A total of four members voted present while six did not vote. The resolution to censure Tlaib slammed her for “promoting false narratives regarding the October 7‚ 2023‚ Hamas attack on Israel and for calling for the destruction of the state of Israel.” The resolution correctly noted that Israel has existed on its lands for thousands of years and that the U.S. played a “critical role in returning Israel to those lands in 1948 immediately following the Holocaust in recognition of its right to exist and as an indelible signal of our solidarity with the Jewish people.” Tlaib “defended the brutal rapes‚ murders‚ be-headings‚ and kidnapping—including of Americans—by Hamas as justified ‘resistance’ to the ‘apartheid state‚'” the resolution said‚ adding that she “knowingly spread the false narrative that Israel intentionally bombed the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital on October 17 after United States intelligence‚ Israeli intelligence‚ and President Biden assessed with high confidence that Israel did not cause the explosion.” The resolution continued: Whereas‚ on November 3‚ 2023‚ Representative Tlaib published on social media a video containing the phrase “from the river to the sea‚” which is widely recognized as a genocidal call to violence to destroy the state of Israel and its people to replace it with a Palestinian state extending from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea; Whereas Representative Tlaib doubled down on this call to violence by falsely describing “from the river to the sea” as “an aspirational call for freedom‚ human rights‚ and peaceful coexistence” despite it clearly entailing Israel’s destruction and denial of its fundamental right to exist; and Whereas Representative Tlaib has repeatedly displayed conduct entirely unbecoming of a Member of the House of Representatives by calling for the destruction of the state of Israel and dangerously promoting false narratives regarding a brutal‚ large-scale terrorist attack against civilian targets inside the sovereign territory of a major non-NATO ally while hundreds of Israeli and American hostages remain in terrorist captivity: Now‚ therefore‚ be it Resolved‚ That Representative Rashida Tlaib be censured. The Democrats who voted to censure Tlaib include Reps. Steve Cohen (TN)‚ Jim Costa (CA)‚ Angie Craig (MN)‚ Don Davis (NC)‚ Lois Frankel (FL)‚ Jared Golden (ME)‚ Daniel Goldman (NY)‚ Josh Gottheimer (NJ)‚ Greg Landsman (OH)‚ Susie Lee (NV)‚ Kathy Manning (NC)‚ Jared Moskowitz (FL)‚ Wiley Nickel (NC)‚ Chris Pappas (NH)‚ Marie Perez (WA)‚ Pat Ryan (NY)‚ Brad Schneider (IL)‚ Kim Schrier (WA)‚ Darren Soto (FL)‚ Richie Torres (NY)‚ Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL)‚ and Frederica Wilson (FL). The Republicans who voted against the censure included Reps. Ken Buck (CO)‚ John Duarte (CA)‚ Thomas Massie (KY)‚ and Tom McClintock (CA).

Osama Bin Laden Becomes A TikTok Influencer

Lynette Adkins isn’t exactly the person you’d expect to kickstart a social media conversation about international terrorism‚ and how Osama bin Laden might have done the right thing by ordering the 9/11 terrorist attacks. For one thing‚ Lynette Adkins is a recent college graduate whose latest video on YouTube is entitled‚ “getting hotter &; making friends in LA.” And in 2021‚ Adkins was profiled by The Los Angeles Times‚ not for her great insights on world affairs‚ but because of her videos on‚ “college life‚ skin and hair care‚” including “a tutorial for Black women growing out their natural hair.” Adkins‚ the Times reported‚ was mainly successful because she often told her followers — which now number well over 200‚000 on various social media platforms — how they could quit their white-collar jobs and become a vapid social media personality like herself. But just a couple of days ago‚ Adkins offered an insight into a very different topic. Claiming she was in the midst of an existential crisis‚ Adkins posted this short video on TikTok: Tiktokers are now so anti semitic that they’re promoting OSAMA BIN LADEN and the essay where he rants about the Jewish Question pic.twitter.com/X2QV2rLeCi — Kuleshov (@Kulesh0vEffect) November 15‚ 2023 She’s having an existential crisis‚ she says. We’re now a long way from telling black women how to grow out their natural hair. In that clip‚ Adkins conspicuously doesn’t mention what “A Letter to America” is‚ apparently because she worried people might not be interested in the document when they learned it was Osama bin Laden’s manifesto justifying the 9/11 attacks. But in the end‚ Adkins’ ploy apparently worked. As the New York Post reported‚ Adkins single-handedly “jumpstarted” a flood of activity on social media‚ and in particular on TikTok‚ about Osama bin Laden’s manifesto. Several other outlets also credited Adkins for what happened next. The #lettertoamerica hashtag on TikTok racked up more than 14 million views and on X (Twitter)‚ the same hashtag quickly accounted for nearly 100‚000 posts.  WATCH: The Matt Walsh Show The journalist Yashar Ali reported that in thousands of TikToks‚ people of all races‚ ethnicities‚ and backgrounds responded to bin Laden’s letter. And for the most part‚ these TikToks involved young people saying bin Laden’s letter has led them to reevaluate their perspective on terrorism‚ and how it can‚ in fact‚ be a legitimate form of protest to a hostile‚ colonizing power. He uploaded just a small handful of these TikToks. We’ll take a look at a small handful of that handful: Over the past 24 hours‚ thousands of TikToks (at least) have been posted where people share how they just read Bin Laden’s infamous "Letter to America‚" in which he explained why he attacked the United States. The TikToks are from people of all ages‚ races‚ ethnicities‚ and… pic.twitter.com/EwjiGtFEE3 — Yashar Ali 🐘 (@yashar) November 16‚ 2023   Osama bin Laden‚ the mass murderer of 3‚000 people‚ has opened their eyes. He has enlightened them with his penetrating insights and deep wisdom. Now for anyone who lived through 9/11 — which many of these TikTok personalities didn’t — it might be hard to make sense of this. Twenty years ago‚ even the most rabid leftists on college campuses didn’t go out in public and proudly suggest that bin Laden was justified. That would have been unthinkable. Instead‚ the Left generally agreed that acts of terrorism that kill thousands of U.S. citizens were a bad thing. The mass protests that we saw after 9/11‚ which began in earnest 2002‚ were almost entirely in response to the planned U.S. military intervention in Iraq — a country that‚ it turns out‚ didn’t have anything to do with 9/11. That was the concern. Until that point‚ the country was mostly unified. There was no groundswell of support on the Left in defense of 9/11‚ on the internet or elsewhere. So what changed? For one thing‚ academic theories of “decolonization‚” as the reaction to the events in the Middle East has made very clear‚ aren’t academic anymore. They’ve filtered down from the university system into the mainstream. But as I’ve said repeatedly‚ “decolonization” is about much more than Israel. And this latest TikTok trend makes that very clear. The ultimate objective of “decolonizers” is the destruction of anything that these zealots perceive as too white.  Decolonization is a genocidal ideology. It expressly justifies the mass slaughter of innocents — white innocents‚ specifically — on the grounds that no white person can actually be innocent. That of course includes the thousands of people who died on 9/11 — and most people living in the United States right now. One of the many striking aspects of this ideology is how incoherent and self-defeating it is. If Libs of TikTok’s videos are any indication‚ people on TikTok would be among the very first to get stoned to death if bin Laden’s version of Sharia Law ever came to the United States. (Which‚ by the way‚ is another demand in bin Laden’s letter — the total subservience of the West to Sharia law). Only defeated and very confused people‚ with a constant connection to other very confused people on the internet‚ would ever support their own eradication like this.  But none of these people uploading this nonsense to TikTok actually came up with this idea on their own. For a long time now‚ many commentators have lamented that “the schools are failing” and asked‚”What are they teaching these kids?” and so on. But the answer has always been pretty clear. This is what they’re teaching. Schools have succeeded in creating exactly the sort of people they set out to create. They may not be explicitly defending bin Laden‚ but they are spreading a deep hatred of white Western civilization. They’ve taught that colonization is an abject and eternal evil‚ with no positive upshot whatsoever. They’ve told students that the very idea of policing is a white supremacist concept intended to victimize black people. They have taught that “whiteness” is a sickness‚ a cancer‚ that must be eradicated. This is the actual language used in schools. Of course they’ve said the same thing about fundamental concepts like biology‚ as well. Schools want students to grow into adults who hate this country and everything about it. And that’s exactly what we’re seeing right now. At the same time‚ the blame doesn’t entirely fall on the university system. For one thing‚ it’s probably not a coincidence that this trend is taking off on a Chinese social media app. As hard as this may be to believe‚ there are consequences to allowing millions of kids to spend their entire day ingesting content from an algorithm controlled by a communist adversary. In a follow-up video‚ the woman who apparently started this whole trend on TikTok‚ Lynette Adkins‚ went on to acknowledge that TikTok has a role in reprogramming Americans.  Here is the video so that no-one will have to click and enter the den of scum which is TikTok… pic.twitter.com/L5uDaq1aJR — Assaf (@AssafTheGeek) November 16‚ 2023 Young people‚ Lynette Adkins says‚ “have been so programmed to think a certain way.” And now‚ she says‚ “TikTok is undoing all of that. It’s crazy to watch in real time.” That’s an understatement. It may be the only true and useful thing that Lynette has ever said on her various social media channels. And apparently‚ it’s the last thing she’s going to say. As of this morning‚ Lynette’s videos on TikTok — including the one I just showed you — are all inaccessible. Her account apparently doesn’t exist anymore. It’s not clear whether TikTok took her account down‚ or if she deleted her account herself. We reached out to her for an explanation‚ and she didn’t respond. For its part‚ TikTok is claiming to be outraged by all of this. They’ve suppressed any videos that use the term “Letter to America” or “Osama bin Laden.” If you try to search for it‚ you’ll get a warning about “community guidelines.” And the company has put out statements saying they’re horrified that this letter has resurfaced. And they’re not the only ones saying that. The Guardian‚ which hosted a version of this letter on their website for the past 20 years‚ deleted the letter from its website in response to all the traffic from TikTok. And of course‚ in response‚ interest in bin Laden’s letter only grew from there‚ because you can’t delete anything from the internet. If you try‚ you just encourage more people to seek it out. Which is why the Guardian’s decision to delete the letter was ridiculous‚ and did more harm than good. You can interpret these reactions from TikTok and The Guardian however you want. You can choose to believe that a social media platform controlled by the Communist Party of China is deeply upset that American youth are talking about how bin Laden was justified in taking down the Twin Towers. You can choose to believe that social media mercenary Lynette Adkins‚ for some reason‚ decided out of the blue one day to promote this whole idea. But no matter what — whether you think this is just the latest successful Chinese propaganda effort or not — one fact remains‚ which no amount of online censorship can change. The truth is that‚ after 9/11‚ there were scattered reports of celebrations that broke out in response to the violence. Most of those reports are unverified and disputed to this day. But if another 9/11 happened today‚ it wouldn’t be hard to find people celebrating. All you’d have to do is look at any college campus‚ or go on TikTok. That’s the harshest reality to contemplate. Everyone was basically on the same page after 9/11 — everyone was sad‚ everyone was angry. And that was the last time we would all be on the same page about anything. If a similar attack were launched today‚ we would not even be able to all agree that it’s a sad thing. That fact is now unavoidable. It’s unavoidable because of an ideology that both parties have been subsidizing in the university and public school systems for decades. This is an ideology that our leaders have done nothing to combat‚ for all the years it festered. So now‚ instead of our young people looking up to great authors or public servants — people with good moral character — they look up to tedious social media “influencers” like Lynette Adkins. That’s as humiliating an indictment of a society as you can find. But for China‚ which controls TikTok‚ it’s fantastic news. Xi Jinping just promised at the APEC Summit that there will be no “hot war” with the United States. What he didn’t say is that he won’t need to launch a hot war in order to weaken‚ delegitimize‚ and ultimately destroy this country. All he needs is an army of useful idiots who want to destroy Western civilization from within. And if there’s anything we can learn from what happened on TikTok this week‚ it’s that Xi Jinping now has that army. And it’s bigger and dumber than he could have possibly hoped for.

Fox Reporter Who ‘Debunked’ Criticism Of Vaccine Was Fired After Missing Work Because Vaccine Made Him Sick

A former Fox News producer is suing the network‚ saying it fired him due to his “refusal to report false information‚” such as concerns about harmful effects of COVID vaccines. But Fox News says Jason Donner was fired for infractions including not showing up for work — which Donner blames‚ ironically‚ on the fact that the COVID vaccine made him sick for more than a week. Donner‚ who was a Capitol Hill producer‚ filed a lawsuit in D.C. court in September saying Fox discriminated against him “as a result of Mr. Donner speaking out against the false news stories being published by Fox News and his political affiliation.” One of those stories came in June 2021‚ when Donner was assigned to run a story on Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) raising questions about COVID vaccines. “Donner stated that it was dangerous to cover the story without interviewing a doctor for the opposing point of view‚” the lawsuit said.  “Forced to cover the press conference‚ Donner reported accurately on the issue and thereby debunked/fact-checked each of Senator Johnson’s claims in his required story pitch. He was praised by fellow Fox staffers for presenting the facts but raised the ire of management.” According to a FoxNews.com article‚ by other reporters‚ on June 28 Johnson held a press conference with people “who experienced adverse reactions to the vaccines and experienced ‘refusal or reluctance’ from their doctors to acknowledge that their symptoms might be tied to the vaccine.” Johnson said he was “pro-vaccine” but held the hearing because people who did experience ill effects were “having a hard time getting their truths communicated… without being censored.” He wrote to Pfizer and Moderna asking them to provide data about adverse reactions. Donner had other complaints. On January 6‚ 2021‚ when in Donner’s view Fox’s on-air comments did not sufficiently condemn what his lawsuit calls an “insurrection‚” he called Fox’s control room and said‚ “I don’t want to hear any of this f—ing sh—t on our air ever again because you’re gonna get us all killed.”  He said there were “reports of shots fired” — which was likely the sound of a police officer killing an unarmed protester. In October 2021‚ Donner complained to management about Tucker Carlson’s coverage of January 6 and worked “on a story debunking the false claims.” By 2022‚ Fox management said Donner was creating a “toxic environment” and needed “more self-awareness‚” the lawsuit said. “Fox News’ management was pushing a far right-wing agenda in the news division‚ and Donner would not comply with their demands‚” the lawsuit said. In September of that year‚ Donner was fired‚ with Fox allegedly telling him it was because he was late for work and did not show up for work. Donner said‚ ironically‚ that that’s because he had taken the COVID vaccine and had a severe adverse reaction — of the sort he didn’t want Sen. Johnson talking about without “debunking” it.  “On September 26‚ 2022‚ Donner called in sick because he was recovering from the COVID vaccine that he had recently received. Donner had received the COVID vaccine the previous week‚ but fell ill from it. Despite being ill‚ he continued to work because he did not want to leave his coworkers short-handed. Nonetheless‚ by September 26‚ 2022‚ he was too ill to continue to work and so he called in sick. His body gave out on him because he had kept working while ill‚” the lawsuit said. “On September 27‚ 2022‚ Donner’s supervisor… accused Donner of being irresponsible and challenged Donner’s work ethic‚ despite the fact that Donner worked past 9pm three nights in the preceding week while ill from the COVID vaccine. Essentially‚ [supervisor NuNu] Japaridze faulted Donner for calling in sick the day before when he was recovering from the COVID vaccine. The call ended with Japaridze hanging up on Donner‚” the lawsuit said. The next day‚ the D.C. Bureau Chief ”told Donner that he was fired because he was late for work and did not show up for work (presumably referring to September 26‚ 2022 when Donner called in sick)‚” the lawsuit said‚ alleging that “this was a pretextual firing based on Donner’s political views and affiliation.” The lawsuit was filed in D.C. Superior Court‚ invoking the D.C. Human Rights Act‚ on September 27‚ and was moved to federal court on November 13. Fox and Donner’s lawyer did not return requests for comment.

Speaker Johnson Announces Public Release Of January 6 Footage

The GOP-led House began on Friday to release tens of thousands of hours of video footage from January 6‚ 2021 — the day of the U.S. Capitol breach — to the public. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA)‚ who is less than a month into the job‚ announced the rolling disclosure of more than 40‚000 hours of footage to a website. His office said the footage will not include a small portion of video that may contain sensitive security information or information that could lead to retaliation against private citizens. “To restore America’s trust and faith in their Government we must have transparency. This is another step towards keeping the promises I made when I was elected to be your Speaker‚” Johnson said in a post to X that shared a link to a House Administration Committee webpage with dozens of video files already posted. Some Republican lawmakers and others have long pressed for the release of security footage of the day when a crowd of people entered the U.S. Capitol‚ disrupting lawmakers who were meeting to certify President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory. Proponents of disclosure have argued a disclosure would show a different side to the mainstream narrative about January 6 that mainly focused on the violence that took place. Johnson’s predecessor in the speaker’s role‚ Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA)‚ did share with then-Fox News host Tucker Carlson roughly 41‚000 hours of video earlier this year‚ after which Carlson aired previously unseen security footage of January 6 that also showed police officers appearing to stand by passively as people poured into the Capitol‚ drawing a sharp contrast to the more chaotic scenes often put on curated display by the January 6 Committee during its hearings. Some criticized the disclosure to Carlson. Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS)‚ who served as chairman of the January 6 Committee‚ warned of the potential security risks. The head of the Capitol Police criticized Carlon’s airing of a small portion of the footage as misleading and cherry-picked. And President Joe Biden scolded House Republicans‚ saying that he hoped they felt “ashamed for what was done to undermine our law enforcement.” Various members of the media and January 6 defendants successfully gained restricted access to the footage in the fall using terminals overseen by the House Administration Committee. Johnson said in his statement on Friday that a public viewing room will “ensure every citizen can view every minute of the videos uncensored” while the online roll-out takes place. The speaker also thanked Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA)‚ the chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight for the Committee on House Administration‚ for working quickly to upload the videos online. In addition‚ Johnson said processing the videos will involve blurring out the faces of private citizens in yet-to-be-released tapes to prevent retaliation and “segregating” an estimated 5% of the footage that may involve “sensitive security information related to the building architecture.”
