Fetterman Says if We Want Peace‚ Israel Needs to Be Able to Destroy Hamas

Across the major evening network newscasts‚ there was no mention of the accusations of plagiarism against embattled Harvard President Claudine Gay‚ already under fire due to her flippant responses to questions on whether a call for the genocide of Jews is violative of campus rules. This coverage sample‚ from NBC‚ makes mention of the responses‚ the calls to dismiss‚ and the Harvard faculty letter supporting Gay. But there is no mention of plagiarism. STEPHANIE GOSK: Saturday‚ University of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill resigned from her post. During the hearing‚ both presidents testified that calls for the genocide of Jews did not necessarily violate their campus rules.  CLAUDINE GAY: It can be depending on the context.  U.S. REP. ELISE STEFANIK (R-NY): It does not depend on the context. The answer is yes‚ and this is why you should resign. GOSK: President Gay later apologizing‚ clarifying that calls for genocide were vile and have no place at Harvard. Now a letter signed by more than 700 faculty members urges the university's top governing body to resist political pressures‚ including calls for the removal of president Gay.  The clip is representative of the tone and tenor of the respective reports that aired on NBC and CBS. This is more than can be said for ABC‚ which didn’t cover anything related to the elite university scandal over this apparent nonchalance towards antisemitism and outright eliminationism.  And‚ as mentioned earlier‚ none of these reports mentioned the plagiarism scandal that exploded today on social media. As reported in The New York Post: Embattled Harvard President Claudine Gay is fending off accusations she plagiarized numerous portions of her 1997 Ph.D. thesis in direct violation of Harvard’s academic integrity policies. Documents obtained by journalists Christopher Rufo and Chris Brunet posted on X juxtapose political scientist Gay’s paper with earlier works of several authors and academic scholars‚ which in some passages are replicated nearly word-for-word. In one example‚ taken from page 12 of Gay’s dissertation‚ Rufo points out the now-Harvard president seemingly “lifts an entire paragraph” from a 1990 paper by Lawrence Bobo and Franklin Gilliam. Appearing in Bobo and Gilliam’s original paper‚ published seven years before Gay wrote her thesis‚ is the phrase “blacks in high-black-empowerment areas–as indicated by control of the mayor’s office–are more active than either blacks living in low-empowerment areas or their white counterparts of comparable socioeconomic status.” Then in Gay’s paper she writes “African-Americans in ‘high black-empowerment’ areas–as indicated by control of the mayor’s office — are more active than either African-Americans in low empowerment areas or their white counterparts of comparable socioeconomic status.” It appears that the governing boards have decided not to terminate Claudine Gay‚ and that she will not resign. Further proof of the corruption of our elite institutions. The networks chose not to report on the plagiarism that Harvard seems unwilling to penalize. The pro-Biden media is trying not to panic as their own polls show Biden is not only losing to Donald Trump‚ he's losing on ethical behavior in the wake of the latest Hunter Biden indictment. When asked about the Biden family business‚ the president claims it's all "lies" that he met with his son's business clients. On NBC‚ New York Times political analyst Jonathan Martin seemed angry as he asserted: "Find me the Biden White House adviser who's going to go to the boss and say‚ 'We need a new strategy about your son.'" NBC's Kelly O'Donnell added "There isn't one." Martin underlined it: "They’re not going to have that conversation." When the media either can't find the lying Biden clip denying any interactions with Hunter's clients‚ you know the president could say why should I change strategies? Media laziness lets him keep lying. But the polls showing people feel Biden has done either something illegal or something unethical should get more emphasis.  CNN's John Avlon hosts a haughty little morning segment called "Reality Check." But he didn't seem in touch with reality when he insisted on HBO:  “Biden's got a good story to tell about the economy. It is objectively true that our country is better off economically than we were certainly three years ago and it's not just because of the pandemic.” ABC and CBS were both worrying out loud that Muslim voters weren't going to vote for Biden after he strongly backed Israel against Hamas terrorists. Dearborn's Muslim mayor‚ Abdullah Hamoud‚ said Biden's response to the war "lacked empathy." He said "the unfortunate reality‚ there's been a callousness." The idea that the onetime home of Walter Duranty should be taken seriously on anything pertaining to an editorial shift‚ or concern over an editorial shift at any other media outlet‚ is laughable. But‚ alas‚ here we are. The Old Grey Lady is the latest to weigh in on the Acela Media’s collective panic over Univision’s interview of former President Donald Trump specifically‚ and over a perceived editorial shift at Univision generally. The Times’ article‚ titled “Conundrum of Covering Trump Lands at Univision’s Doorstep” opens with a paragraph that is wholly reflective of the overall tone of the media on this particular manner:  The howls of protest against Univision began as soon as its interview with Donald J. Trump aired. A month later‚ they still haven’t stopped. This much‚ at least‚ is accurate. There is a broad array of articles and MSNBC segments that arrests to this fact. The howls haven’t stopped‚ and won’t stop because of the magnitude of the perceived loss of Univision as a reliable Democrat talking point regurgitator. The most interesting thing in this piece‚ though‚ once you get past the howling‚ are the admissions.  Univision executives have said they are making a pivot toward the center — a strategy that reflects the split political preferences of the Hispanic electorate and the need to broaden their audience. “Pivot toward the center” implies away from the left. Which is where Univision has always been‚ and still is- bluster about a shift notwithstanding. There is also this nugget- the acknowledgement that the left has always felt entitled to air supremacy on Univision: “We were dumbfounded‚” said Felix Sanchez‚ a co-founder and the chairman of the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts‚ a nonprofit that focuses on Latino representation in media. “It sent shock waves through the community‚ because the whole incident was so off brand.” Representative Joaquin Castro‚ a Texas Democrat and member of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus‚ said Univision had a civic duty to push back against Mr. Trump’s distortions because of its unique role in the community‚ “Univision serves as a main source of information for the Latino community and has a real responsibility to vet information from any campaign‚” he said‚ “particularly Trump’s‚ given how he’s handled that community.” One thing that the Univision freakout exposes- which the Times chronicles better than most- is the extent to which the left feel that they own Hispanics‚ and their viewpoints‚ and the means by which they consume information. That Congressional Hispanic Censorship Caucus member Joaquín Castro weighed in is important because that caucus has a history of trying to stifle dissent and control what information makes it to the Hispanic community.  As with the other pieces‚ this article conveys the left’s sense of mourning over an ongoing Hispanic shift away from the Democrat Party. Is Univision’s shift real? As I’ve stated before‚ personnel is policy‚ and it’s hard to imagine Univision completely shifting to the center with the personnel that are currently in place- chief among them Jorge Ramos.  Univision’s so-called shift may come down to that old Michael Jordan proverb: “Republicans buy sneakers‚ too”. It turns out that they also buy ads. Mr. Paxman said he did not think Univision was “shifting” to Republicans‚ but was looking to attract more political advertising next year. “They want Republican cash as well as Democratic Party cash‚” he said. That may be the most accurate assessment of the happenings at Univision yet.
