Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) slammed President Joe Biden’s son‚ Hunter Biden‚ during an interview over the weekend while talking about how he has benefitted from his father’s last name. Romney made the remarks during a Sunday appearance on NBC News’ “Meet The Press” with host Kristen Welker while discussing the nine new tax charges facing the president’s son. “His lawyer said that if his name was anything other than Biden‚ the charges would not have been brought‚” Welker said. “What’s your reaction to that?” Romney responded‚ “Well‚ if his name were anything other than Biden‚ he wouldn’t have been able to bilk millions of dollars from foreign entities‚ so let’s start there.” “And not only did he take all this money from foreign entities‚ trading on his father’s name‚ which is ugly and unsavory‚ he then didn’t pay taxes on it‚ according to the prosecutors‚” he continued. “We’ll see if they can prove that case. But if they can‚ he violated U.S. law and should be severely punished for having done so.” Romney later said that he has not seen any evidence that President Biden has committed high crimes and misdemeanors. Former White House Chief COVID Adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci claimed during a recent interview that he no longer felt the need to attend church because his “personal ethics on life” were enough. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) filed a “motion to vacate the chair” in early October after the House passed a short-term spending bill to avert a government shutdown. In the no-confidence vote that followed‚ Gaetz and seven other Republicans joined with Democrats to remove McCarthy from the speakership. McCarthy had only been serving as speaker since January. “When I made the decision to pay our troops and not shut down‚ I knew they were going to make a motion to vacate on me. I didn’t even know the Democrats would go along with it. But what I did know is‚ I had been in that room before. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said over the weekend that the evidence he has seen of the sexual violence inflicted against Israelis on October 7 is unlike anything he has ever witnessed. Blinken made the remarks during a Sunday interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Jake Tapper when asked why the United Nations and the international community has been so slow to condemn Hamas’ sexual atrocities. “I can’t think of a real reason‚” Tapper said. “Well‚ let me just put it this way. I have heard anti-Semitism hypothesized as a reason why the U.N. and the international community might be so slow to acknowledge this. Former Vice President Al Gore said over the weekend that he was “shocked” by remarks that the president of his alma mater made last week while testifying before Congress.
