CBS’s ‘Bloodbath’ Mass Firing Claimed Award-Winning Reporter Catherine Herridge

Former Fox News reporter Catherine Herridge was the one serious journalist inside the liberal broadcast networks to truly investigate Hunter Biden’s laptop and the Biden family’s web of corruption; when she joined CBS News as an investigative correspondent. But as of Tuesday‚ Herridge found herself out of a job amid a wave of firings at the network and Paramount Global properties. Her ouster drew outrage from her coworkers at the Washington‚ D.C. Bureau. It was the New York Port who broke the story in “Bloodbath at Paramount claims 800 jobs including CBS News journalists embroiled in controversy.” According to Post media reporter Alexandra Steigrad‚ Herridge might have been targeted directly by the network’s president: “Sources said Herridge had clashed with CBS News president Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews — a sharp-elbowed executive who was investigated in 2021 over favoritism and discriminatory hiring and management practices‚ as revealed by The Post.” Apparently‚ it was Herridge’s dogged persistence in investigating Hunter Biden that put her on the chopping block: Viewers and journalists alike slammed CBS News over this week’s firing of Catherine Herridge — an award-winning senior correspondent who sources said had run into “internal roadblocks” at the network as she covered the Hunter Biden laptop story. (…) But Herridge’s most recent assignment — covering the Hunter Biden probe — put her under a microscope at the left-leaning network‚ The Post has learned. It was well understood on Capitol Hill that Herridge was among the first to receive tips about the Hunter Biden investigation but she ran into “internal roadblocks at CBS News‚” sources said. But Herridge apparently had earned the respect of the rank and file inside the CBS D.C. Bureau. In a follow-up article‚ Steigrad reported that her former colleagues were “outraged” and “bewildered” by her firing in particular‚ even though many others were fired from the D.C. office as well. One source inside CBS told The Post that everyone was “shocked and dismayed” by Herridge’s ouster and “can’t make sense of this decision” since she “‘brought credibility’ to the company.” As an investigative correspondent‚ Herridge worked under Matt Mosk; a guy who helped create a documentary with ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos that promoted the debunked Steele Dossier as fact. So‚ clearly‚ CBS didn’t want truth-tellers in their investigative unit.

Capitol Police diverted all CCTV cameras away from DNC pipe bomb investigation — except one

Among the most enduring unsolved mysteries surrounding the events at the U.S. Capitol on January 6‚ 2021‚ are the pipe bombs planted outside the offices of the Republican and Democratic National Committees. In January‚ Blaze News revealed that the individual who discovered the device outside the DNC offices and was described by the FBI as a “passerby” was‚ in fact‚ a plainclothes U.S. Capitol Police officer. Now‚ after reviewing hours of closed-circuit TV video footage‚ Blaze News can report that two of three U.S. Capitol Police surveillance cameras pointed at the DNC office building were redirected away from the scene shortly after the device was discovered. As part of our investigation‚ I requested and received access to this footage from Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.) and his staff. Blaze News will reveal more information soon about what the entirety of the video reveals. The DNC pipe bomb case is of special interest because Kamala Harris was in the building when the device was discovered. Harris‚ a former U.S. senator from California‚ was vice-president-elect and under Secret Service protection at the time.More than three years later‚ federal investigators have not uncovered the origin of the alleged pipe bombs. The FBI has not identified a suspect in either the RNC or DNC pipe bomb incidents‚ and a $500‚000 reward remains in effect for information leading to the arrest of the would-be bomber. 'Like pulling teeth'In the videos‚ Secret Service agents and officers from the D.C. Metro Police and U.S. Capitol Police departments appear unusually lackadaisical under the circumstances. A few hours after the Blaze News exclusive appeared‚ Darren Beattie of Revolver News published his own story about the DNC pipe bomb. His compelling analysis was based largely on the seven-minute video posted on YouTube six months earlier by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.).The two stories generated a firestorm of media questions and speculation about how passively Secret Service agents responded to the bomb’s discovery by the USCP officer. With Harris inside the DNC offices‚ why did those Secret Service agents and MPD officers finish their lunch before exiting their SUV? Why did they allow schoolchildren to pass within feet of a suspected bomb instead of cordoning off the area immediately? Why did the Secret Service wait more than 10 minutes before evacuating Harris from the building? More importantly‚ why has the public been allowed to see only seven minutes of video of what might be the most critical incident on January 6‚ 2021‚ given that the vice-president-elect was mere feet away from an alleged explosive device? This includes previously unseen images of the complete response by the attending agencies from multiple camera angles‚ the on-scene investigation‚ and ultimately‚ the bomb squad’s detonation of what the FBI continues to insist was a “viable” device capable of causing severe injury or death. In a recent appearance on BlazeTV’s “Pat Gray Unleashed‚” Massie said the seven-minute pipe bomb video is “some of the only J6 video that’s actually made it out ... contrary to a bunch of promises.”“It was like pulling teeth to get the first seven minutes of the discovery of this bomb‚” Massie told Gray. “I do think we should release the video of the attempted detonation of the bomb.”Although House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) has said he has the last word on the release of all video footage from January 6‚ multiple congressional and Capitol Police sources confirm to Blaze News that the Capitol Police Board has prevented the DNC pipe bomb footage and other essential videos from coming out until now. The three-member board consists of House Sergeant-at-Arms William McFarland‚ Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Karen H. Gibson‚ and acting Capitol Architect Chere Rexroat. Until all the January 6 video is released to the public‚ a host of media companies and independent journalists will continue to review the video trove in a viewing room at a congressional office building in Washington‚ D.C. This includes the Epoch Times‚ Revolver News‚ and "Declassified with Julie Kelly."Protocols were violatedReleasing the footage would help shed additional light on how the Secret Service and the police responded to the threat‚ how the MPD bomb squad handled the device‚ and whether the alleged pipe bomb was‚ in fact‚ as dangerous as the FBI has characterized it. A former FBI agent disputes the claim. After the first pipe bomb was discovered near the Republican National Committee headquarters on First Street‚ the USCP officers and bomb squad reportedly handled the scene “by the book‚” immediately cordoning off the area to establish a safe perimeter. Those same protocols were not initiated promptly by the Secret Service and other agencies at the scene of the DNC bomb site.Apart from pedestrians continuing to walk past the scene — mere feet away from the bomb — a train trestle is located some 50 feet from where the bomb was discovered. Those trains continued to pass by every few minutes. No one with any agency seemed concerned enough about the bomb to halt the train service along those tracks. From discussions with several current and former agents and police officers with experience responding to bombs and suspicious packages‚ Blaze News has learned this was an egregious violation of established protocols. The cameras turnA review of USCP radio transmissions confirms that the DNC bomb was reported to the USCP command center just after 1:07 p.m.Less than four minutes after the plainclothes USCP officer notified the Secret Service of the suspected bomb‚ camera number 3173 — the same camera from which Massie released the seven-minute video — began to pan and zoom in on the position of the device. This is a clear indication that the USCP command center had been notified of the bomb’s existence and someone had taken control of the camera. Blaze News reviewed and confirmed that camera 3173 had remained in a fixed position — pointed at the DNC parking garage entrance — at least back to December 28‚ 2020‚ before its remote-control pan and zoom operation began at 1:09:04 p.m. on January 6.Camera 3173 was the most crucial camera focused on the scene‚ having the closest and clearest view of law enforcement’s response‚ investigation‚ and ultimate detonation of the bomb by an MPD bomb squad robot. Inexplicably‚ just after 1:40 p.m.‚ camera 3173 was remotely directed away from the scene at roughly a 90-degree angle and remained in that newly fixed position for the rest of the day‚ at least until midnight on January 6.But Joe Hanneman‚ an investigative reporter with the Epoch Times‚ discovered a second camera with a bird’s eye view of the scene before the bomb squad’s attempted detonation of the device. Once again‚ at 1:44 p.m.‚ that camera was also deliberately turned away from the investigation scene‚ panning south and left zoomed in on railroad tracks and a highway overpass. This position — looking away from the bomb scene — is where it remained until well after the incident’s investigation and the bomb’s destruction. Both cameras had been turned away from the investigative scene before 1:45 p.m. We have embedded this never-before-seen footage from both cameras into this article below.A command decision and an oversightSenior sources within USCP ranks with intimate knowledge of their command center’s layout and operations have informed Blaze News that the cameras would only have been directed away from such a critical investigation on the orders of “command-level” officials. On the afternoon of January 6‚ the only senior commanders present who could have given such an order in the command center area known as “the Pit” were Chief Steven Sund; Sean Gallagher‚ who was acting chief of uniformed operations; and Yogananda Pittman‚ assistant chief of police for protective and intelligence operations.Pittman at the time also oversaw the Capitol’s Security Services Bureau‚ which is the division of USCP that controls the Capitol’s CCTV cameras.Sund‚ who resigned the day after January 6‚ recounted the day’s events in his 2023 memoir‚ “Courage Under Fire.” He states twice in the book he wasn’t notified of the DNC pipe bomb until 1:49 p.m.‚ 44 minutes after its discovery and four minutes after the two most critical cameras were directed away from the investigation scene. Sund in both his book and his congressional testimonies has said he was busy seeking assistance from the National Guard and other law enforcement agencies to help defend the Capitol‚ which may explain why he was unaware of the bomb until later. Still‚ it’s unclear why he wasn’t informed of the pipe bomb discovery right away. The camera the Capitol Hill police forgotIn mid-December‚ I received a tip from a senior congressional aide to pay particular attention to the footage from cameras that were directed at the DNC headquarters before‚ during‚ and after the discovery of the pipe bomb on the afternoon of January 6. Fortunately for those of us investigating the DNC bomb scene‚ someone in the USCP command center apparently forgot about the directional position of a third camera‚ which provided an overhead view of the bomb squad’s effort to destroy the pipe bomb. Blaze News has requested this footage‚ and as we receive it‚ we will release it to the public. The video‚ which I watched six weeks ago‚ shows that just after 2 p.m.‚ on the far-left edge of that camera’s frame‚ an MPD bomb squad robot began moving along the sidewalk to retrieve the pipe bomb. After picking up the bomb‚ the robot clumsily moved the device and deposited it against the street curb rather than into a bomb blast containment bin. Moments later‚ the device can be seen breaking apart.Without absolute certainty‚ experts with knowledge of bomb disposal technologies explained to Blaze News that the robot most likely hit the device with a “bomb disposal water disruptor” — a type of water cannon. The Department of Homeland Security explains the water disruptor “breaks apart IEDs by targeting a stream of high-velocity liquid‚ such as water. It does not detonate the device‚ but rather disarms it from a distance ...”When the bomb squad robot deployed the disruptor‚ there was no explosion. The pipe bomb disintegrated into pieces. Minutes later‚ one bomb squad officer in a protective suit can be seen entering the far-left edge of the camera’s aspect to investigate the destroyed pipe bomb’s remnants. 'Viable' or not?According to a report by the Washington Times‚ former FBI Special Agent Kyle Seraphin explained that during his investigation‚ he discovered that both pipe bomb devices were inoperable and presented no threat. This is despite the FBI’s continued public assertion that the devices were “viable.”In an exclusive interview with Blaze News‚ Seraphin elaborated that the bureau is telling the public one story and its agents another story. “The FBI has spent a significant amount of time telling the public that we had‚ quote-unquote‚ ‘viable devices‚’ when they were briefing the surveillance team that was following a person of interest that these were not potentially explosive devices that were a danger to the federal agents who were following him‚” he said.Seraphin told Blaze News that other members of his team corroborated the same information that had been given to the investigating agents. “It’s an officer safety issue‚ and the way that you handle a potential bomber is different than a subject who was known to drop inoperable bombs‚” Seraphin said. “You’re going to work a case differently if they’re not real; you can get closer. That was part of the very basic operational order of how you do the job‚ which is something I did every day for thousands of hours a year.”Seraphin also rebutted the June 7‚ 2023‚ testimony of FBI assistant director in charge Steven D'Antuono‚ who told the House Judiciary Committee‚ “People like Kyle Seraphin and others that are not a case agent‚ have no knowledge of the case‚ have no knowledge of what happened in the case.” “That’s objectively false‚” Seraphin said. “It’s referred to as a ‘case brief‚’ and it is the standard for anybody who is doing surveillance and is serious about working as an asset to the case agent ... our eyes are tuned to what the case agent is looking for.” “Steve D’Antuono is completely wrong‚” Seraphin added. “He obviously never worked on that surveillance unit. He was too busy being a manager and not working cases.”“It’s illogical on every level” that D'Antuono didn’t know what was happening in that case‚ Seraphin explained. “Either he was being briefed on it better than we were‚ or he’s a liar. He’s either incompetent‚ or he’s deliberately being obtuse in front of Congress.”As for why the Secret Service and MPD officers were slow to act‚ Seraphin attributed their reaction to stress and training. “When people experience a moment of high stress‚ generally speaking‚ they have what is called a ‘sympathetic nervous response‚’ which I know as a paramedic and from my time in the military. They have three possible outcomes: fight‚ flight‚ or freeze. The single most common is freeze‚” Seraphin said. “What we saw from that police officer looked more like a training scenario‚ and when the scenario happens‚ you take it a kind of slow speed. They approach things at an overly casual rate because they know it’s not real.”This may well explain the Secret Service‚ MPD‚ and USCP’s casual behavior and failure to immediately establish a safe perimeter and implement other known protocols after learning of the pipe bomb’s discovery. But‚ Seraphin added‚ the seemingly casual response didn’t make sense “when you have a high-value protectee inside the building.” “Those are questions that still need to be answered‚” he said.Seraphin explained that only two possible explanations existed for those two cameras being ordered away from an active investigation: “When you have a sensitive technique that’s about to be executed” using new or classified technologies. “And the second possibility is nefarious.”Given that the bomb disposal water disruptor technology is widely known and taught‚ as well as explicitly described on the Department of Homeland Security’s website‚ the first possibility appears unlikely. That leaves the second possibility. Any obstruction from Congress or law enforcement agencies in releasing the video of the DNC pipe bomb’s destruction raises further questions.“There’s no upside to not characterizing a scene — even if it’s just for training value‚ later‚” Seraphin said. “There’s no good reason that you’d not want to see video cameras that you control logging what happened.” “If the [disarmament] technique is not classified‚ then you are losing something that is documenting information and timelines. The upside of having footage of your crime scene vastly outweighs the sensitivity of a well-known technique‚” he added.Blaze News will be publishing more analysis and releasing more footage as it is received from Congress.

Healing and redemption for post-abortive mothers

You’re reading Align’s pro-life issue: our look at some of the different people and perspectives within the anti-abortion movement. Please also see our dispatches from OneLife LA and the March for Life; the college student’s guide to preparing for the March for Life; interviews with comedians JP Sears and Nicholas De Santo and skyscraper-scaling activist Maison DesChamps; Robin Atkins on how to talk to pro-choice advocates; and Kevin Ryan on abortion’s brutal culling of people with Down syndrome. Robin Atkins is the chair of the mental health subsection of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists. As a licensed mental health counselor‚ Robin has been in practice for over 15 years with a specialty in reproductive issues‚ including infertility‚ high-risk pregnancy‚ traumatic birth‚ postpartum depression and anxiety‚ perinatal hospice and palliative care‚ pregnancy loss‚ infant loss‚ adoption‚ and abortion. Last week‚ Robin appeared on an episode of "Girlboss‚ Interrupted" to discuss her work as part of the greater constellation of pro-life advocacy and how she answers the question that is frequently asked of pro-life people: Who cares about the mother? Spoiler: Robin does. We offer this interview for an even more clear and in-depth exploration of her field‚ her unique focus‚ and her motivation. Ask yourself: Should legislation be based on unprocessed feelings‚ and the narratives built up around ameliorating them‚ or rather on sound principles of human rights? Align: I think a lot of people would be surprised and interested by your speciality in “reproductive mental health.” Why do you think a specialty is required for reproductive traumas specifically? Robin Atikins: Reproduction is an endlessly complicated medical and social topic of interest‚ but in most states‚ we can't even get birth or death certificates for the children we lose during pregnancy. We as a culture are terribly confused about reproduction. Under normal circumstances‚ the facts of our reproductive reality are turned into fodder for commerce. If our reproductive systems are healthy‚ we are bombarded with endless products to minimize the inconvenience of our bodies‚ whether it be menstruation‚ pregnancy‚ birth‚ or breastfeeding. On the other hand‚ when things go poorly‚ the grief and shame countless men and women in America experience around reproduction is usually processed‚ like so much else‚ in isolation. The abortion movement hasn't helped women or men grieving reproductive losses. Terms such as "clumps of cells‚" "products of conception‚" and/or "fetus" discount the very real relationships we have with our children in utero and the biological changes we experience during pregnancy. The truth is outside the narrative: Reproductive events are life events that change us to our core‚ too profound in any case to be commercialized or ignored. Align: The pro-life movement has developed a reputation (earned or unearned) for a lack of empathy. It is said that women can be afraid of the judgment they imagine the pro-life people hold for those who have had abortions and‚ now that the political language has been so muddied‚ even miscarriages. What message do you have for women who fear the judgment of the pro-life movement? RA: I can relate to women who fear judgment from the pro-life movement. I was pro-choice for years. I never spoke of abortion when I was pro-choice. That was the early 2000s‚ when the pro-abortion movement wasn't nearly as accepted as it is now‚ but the risk of being thought of as a "baby-killer" was too high. Even now‚ while vehemently opposed to abortion‚ I receive the most intense hatred and vitriol from self-proclaimed pro-lifers who believe every woman who has had an abortion is a harlot. That anger still exists. Even if a pregnancy ends in loss‚ electively or not‚ a woman is forever changed by the changes that have occurred within her mind‚ body‚ and soul. On the other hand‚ the pro-abortion movement exploits women's experiences (with or without their consent) in an attempt to justify the legality of abortion. The pro-choice message is designed to make women immediately feel better about their abortion experiences‚ without getting to the truth of the matter. Ask yourself: Should legislation be based on unprocessed feelings‚ and the narratives built up around ameliorating them‚ or rather on sound principles of human rights? That is‚ of course‚ the protection of all people to be free from unsolicited violence. My personal experience has nothing to do with whether abortion should be legal. That is an ethical issue based on biology and morality‚ not a "feelings" issue. The exploitation of women like me by the pro-abortion movement and the ignorance of the hardships women like me face by the pro-life movement are two sides of the same "it's your problem" coin. Only by joining together will women (pro-choice or pro-life) change the narrative around abortion and face the truth of the matter. My advice to women who have had abortions is to get to the bottom of things: Talk about the abortion. I am not suggesting anyone "Shout Your Abortion‚" as if abortion is as easy as ordering a bagel from a New York delicatessen. I am suggesting women be honest about the reality of abortion‚ whether it be chemical or surgical. Women need to critically examine their choice. Under what financial‚ emotional‚ and social conditions or expectations was that choice made? We need to be honest with ourselves about what the process of seeking an abortion is like: when‚ where‚ how it was done and whether and by whom they felt coerced to abort. I encourage them to consider what life is like after abortion‚ from the very first day to 20 years later. Recognize the trauma. It is painful and sad even in the best of circumstances. Private abortion recovery groups are filled with story after story of how terrible women's experiences with abortion are‚ as are my patients' stories. Even women who are vehemently pro-choice have terrible experiences with abortion. If abortion is going to be legal‚ everyone should care about how abortions happen and care for women and men after abortion. If abortion becomes illegal‚ everyone should care about the healing that will be needed for those who have had abortions and the circumstances women face that drive them to consider it in the first place. Align: In our interview on "Girlboss‚ Interrupted‚" you mention how women are forever changed by motherhood. Women often feel the transition as transformative but may not know why. How exactly are women changed by motherhood? RA: During pregnancy‚ a woman's pituitary gland adjusts the levels of hormones to support pregnancy (such as progesterone) and to change the woman's perspective from self-driven to child-driven. Women biologically become mothers upon conception. Women increasingly physically‚ relationally‚ spiritually‚ emotionally‚ and financially become mothers during pregnancy. To read about some of the changes in women during pregnancy and how it impacts women's bodies‚ I found this article from CNN accessible and helpful. (Yes‚ I know. CNN. Broken clocks and all that.) Men go through their own transition largely in the six months post-birth of their child‚ as so expertly described by Mary Harrington on Chris Williamson's podcast. Even if a pregnancy ends in loss‚ electively or not‚ a woman is forever changed by the changes that have occurred within her mind‚ body‚ and soul. Focus shifts from self-preservation to preservation of offspring. Love changes from actions exchanged with others to actions on behalf of another. Women become the primary givers in a relationship that is inherently unbalanced. Perspectives of priorities‚ needs‚ and wants change. It truly is a love that‚ while not equal‚ can only be compared to God's agape. Align: What kind of role can reproductive mental health care play in the pro-life movement? RA: Unfortunately‚ much of reproductive mental health care‚ like all mental health care‚ has been infiltrated by critical ideologies. I am attempting to bring it back to health care based on science and research rather than on the ideologically subversive concept of the “oppressed vs. oppressor.” I have written a curriculum that is biology- and research-based with some case studies based on evidentiary accounts that refuses to promote all-or-nothing thinking regarding abortion experiences — or any reproductive experiences for that matter. I believe it would benefit the pro-life movement to embrace the truth regarding reproductive traumas and fight for better support for anyone going through reproductive events. If our society continues to refuse to recognize women's biology‚ we will continue to see womanhood disappear. Align: What is the theory of REACH healing therapy‚ and why is it so important for thriving in the culture of sexual dysfunction? RA: REACH Forgiveness Therapy is a therapy developed‚ thoroughly researched‚ and perfected by Dr. Everett Worthington. Dr. Worthington experienced the murder of his mother and consequential suicide of his brother. He began contemplating the intersection of justice‚ faith‚ virtue‚ and forgiveness as he processed the devastation of his mother's death and forgiveness of her murderer. REACH is an acronym that stands for Recall‚ Empathy‚ Altruism‚ Commitment‚ and Holding On (or‚ as I explain it‚ Healing It Forward). When we can recall with truth and vulnerability the wound caused to us‚ find empathy for how the offender may have gotten to a place of committing such an offense‚ release the debt owed to us and the poison of bitterness attached to it via an altruistic gift of forgiveness‚ commit to maintaining the heart and spirit of forgiveness‚ and hold onto that forgiveness by growing in maturity‚ wisdom‚ resiliency‚ compassion‚ and love toward ourselves and our communities‚ we are free from the fear‚ anger‚ and anxiety of the wound we experienced. We gain back our agency and our power to live fully. We also cease to become a stumbling block to accountability for the offender. In our culture of sexual dysfunction‚ there is plenty to forgive. Women and men must forgive the naivete of previous generations who believed the sexual revolution would free them when it tied us all to depravity‚ degradation‚ objectification‚ and exploitation of women‚ men‚ and children. Women must forgive men for engaging in the pursuit of degrading women via porn; exploitation and commodification of women by purchasing women's bodies for personal pleasure without accountability; violation of bodily integrity and autonomy through sexual assault and genital mutilation; and failing to fully support women's biology and using abortion as a means to escape responsibility. Men must forgive women for attempting to become men and rid ourselves of our biological right to bring forth future generations; tempting men to objectify and demean women through fashion‚ music‚ and media; violation of bodily integrity and autonomy through sexual assault and genital mutilation; and destroying millions of children while allowing for the scapegoating of our biology. On a more personal level‚ women and men must forgive our partners for the ways in which we attempted to divorce sex from attachment and bonding and confused or denied biological rights regarding the conception‚ implantation‚ gestation‚ birth‚ feeding‚ protecting‚ and nurturing of our children.

'Sopranos' actress Drea de Matteo tells Megyn Kelly she regrets Biden vote: 'I've always loved Trump!'

Veteran actress Drea de Matteo recently appeared on an episode of "The Megyn Kelly Show" and expressed opinions so controversial in some Hollywood circles that she claimed her appearance was her "coming-out party."Among the topics de Matteo and host Megyn Kelly mentioned were vaccines‚ the "deep state‚" and the contentious 2020 presidential election. Amid the hysteria regarding COVID and the race riots at that time‚ de Matteo admitted that she voted for Biden as "the lesser of two evils‚" a decision she now says she regrets. "I got swept up in the emotion of it all‚" she told Kelly."I wasn't paying close enough attention to understand what was really happening‚" she continued. "... We all took a nap. We were all sleeping. I was definitely sleeping. I don't know what I was focused on."With another presidential election just around the corner‚ de Matteo is now weighing whether to vote for Trump or RFK Jr. The actress claims she has a fondness for the Kennedy dynasty and admires RFK Jr.'s temperament‚ whereas she respects Trump's "anti-globalism" and "how crass he is.""I'm a New Yorker‚ so I've always loved Trump!" she stated.Because the two men seem to have such complementary skillsets‚ de Matteo claimed that she would love to have them "together" on the same ticket. "I feel like Kennedy could be a great voice where Trump loses it‚ and then Trump is good muscle‚" she explained. De Matteo also opened up about the noxious culture in Hollywood and the hypocrisy of many its high-profile stars."They're supposed to be hippies‚ the people that really do care about equality and inclusivity‚" she said. "Then all of a sudden‚ they are the ones shutting everything down‚ shutting everyone out‚ condemning freedom of speech‚ condemning everything!""A lot of this stuff is just so wrong‚ but I guess a lot of people aren't digging deep enough to research what's really happening‚" she later said.Though de Matteo‚ 52‚ has been a familiar face on the big and small screens for nearly three decades‚ she is probably best known for her role as Adriana La Cerva on the legendary HBO drama "The Sopranos‚" which earned her an Emmy.In fact‚ Kelly even joked that Adriana would definitely have voted for Trump — if she hadn't been killed off the show. De Matteo nodded in agreement: "From the grave!"In addition to "The Sopranos‚" de Matteo also made regular appearances on other popular shows such as "Sons of Anarchy" and "Desperate Housewives." The feds spied on American bank transactions with the words 'Trump or 'MAGA'

The Biden administration has acknowledged a controversial surveillance effort that used politically charged terms such as "MAGA" and "Trump" to monitor private banking transactions. This is the first time the administration has publicly admitted to using these specific keywords in surveillance related to the events of January 6.Senator Tim Scott‚ a prominent Republican member of the Senate Banking Committee‚ has criticized this surveillance approach as a "flagrant violation of Americans' privacy" in a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.Senator Scott argued that the surveillance targeted U.S. citizens for exercising their constitutionally protected rights without due process. In a letter to Senator Scott‚ the Treasury Department mentioned "exchange events" organized by its Financial Crimes Enforcement Network as part of the surveillance.Notably‚ a financial institution reportedly developed search terms like "MAGA" and "Trump" for internal use and shared with FinCEN to flag potentially suspicious activities. However‚ "Kamala" and "Biden" were also used. While the name of the originating bank remains undisclosed‚ allegedly‚ FinCEN passed these terms to other banks to facilitate similar searches. The House Judiciary Committee revealed that federal investigators instructed banks to use terms like "MAGA" and "Trump" to filter customer transactions as part of the January 6 investigation. They also warned that purchases of "religious texts" could be indicators of "extremism."The committee‚ along with its subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government‚ oversees federal law enforcement's interaction with private sector information and its use without legal processes.Chair Jim Jordan stated that post-January 6‚ 2021‚ the Treasury Department's FinCEN distributed materials to financial institutions‚ outlining "typologies" of interest and providing suggested search terms for identifying transactions on behalf of law enforcement. The materials included recommendations to use terms like "Trump" and "MAGA" for searching Zelle payment messages and highlighted indicators of "Lone Actor/Homegrown Violent Extremism."Jordan criticized FinCEN for using financial institutions to scrutinize private transactions based on protected political and religious expression. The committee is requesting a transcribed interview with Noah Bishoff‚ former director of FinCEN‚ for further information.Documents also show that FinCEN distributed slides from Key Bank to other banks on how to use merchant category codes to detect potential threats‚ including transactions at stores like Cabela's and Dick's Sporting Goods.Sources familiar with the documents stated that while the January 6 event triggered the queries‚ there were no specific timeframes for the searches‚ and the information was used for investigations beyond that date.Jordan expressed concern over the surveillance of transactions related to Second Amendment rights and questioned FinCEN's respect for fundamental liberties.Additionally‚ Jordan requested a transcribed interview with Peter Sullivan from the FBI's Strategic Partner Engagement Section‚ following testimony that Bank of America provided the FBI with transaction data without legal process.Bank of America told Fox News that it followed all applicable laws and cooperated with the committee's evaluation of the laws. The Department of Treasury responded with a letter to Sen. Scott regarding the allegations. “While we are still looking into the details of these events‚ [January 6] we understand that these FinCEN Exchange events included government and private sector representatives who voluntarily participated in discussions and information exchanges focused on identifying the perpetrators of this attack and providing support to ongoing law enforcement investigations‚” the letter alleges.“…to the extent key words or phrases were suggested‚ it was expected they would be used alongside other factors and data that banks regularly analyze as part of their AML programs to detect and report suspicious activity.”

Listen up‚ independent content creators — there's a disturbing new trend in social media that you need to know about

Big tech censorship is ramping up as the 2024 presidential election gets closer‚ and Glenn Beck is concerned what this means for independent content creators. “We have been witnessing a very disturbing trend in social media. Lately‚ the giants of Silicon Valley are attempting to control the narrative and dictate what information you have access to by punishing people like me‚ or perhaps like you‚ for wrong think‚” he says. Glenn believes this is a “blatant assault on your freedom of speech‚” and they’re using him as an example. Last week‚ Glenn’s team discovered that Apple had rated everything in his Apple podcast library as explicit content — even though his radio program is FCC-regulated. However‚ after a discussion with Apple‚ it will remove the explicit label within a couple of business days. “They will take a couple of days and correct this‚” Glenn explains‚ calling the tactic “soft censorship.” In addition‚ Facebook is making shadow-banning a company policy now. For those unfamiliar with the term‚ shadow-banning refers to blocking a content creator from a social media platform or online forum but not informing them that they've been blocked. That usually means their content — posts and comments — are no longer visible to users. “They’re just rounding up everybody that disagrees with the government‚ and they just put them in this little digital ghetto‚” Glenn says. “There’s a wall around it; well‚ they can speak all they want‚ but nobody’s going to hear them.” Apparently‚ Facebook will be shadow-banning all political content — but Glenn isn’t sure what qualifies as political content to Meta. “I’d like to know what Facebook considers to be political content. Is advertising LGBTQ issues to kids considered political? I bet not. How about content on the benefits of abortion — is that political?” he asks. To learn more about these new policies affecting social media content creators‚ watch the clip below. FDA greenlights use of medication to address severe frostbite

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced that it has green-lit Aurlumyn to address serious frostbite in adults to decrease the risk of digit amputation. The FDA's press release notes that "the active ingredient in Aurlumyn‚" is iloprost‚ which "is a vasodilator (a drug that opens blood vessels) and prevents blood from clotting." The FDA notes that "Iloprost was originally approved in 2004 for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension." — (@) "This approval provides patients with the first-ever treatment option for severe frostbite‚" Norman Stockbridge noted‚ according to the press release which identifies him as "director of the Division of Cardiology and Nephrology in the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research." The FDA press release discussed a trial that examined the use of iloprost to treat frostbite."Iloprost's efficacy in treating severe frostbite was primarily established in an open-label‚ controlled trial that randomized 47 adults with severe frostbite‚ who all received aspirin by vein and standard of care‚ into one of three treatment groups. One of these groups (Group 1) received iloprost by vein (intravenously) for 6 hours daily for up to 8 days. The two other groups received other medications that are unapproved for frostbite‚ given with iloprost (Group 2) or without iloprost (Group 3). The primary measure of efficacy was a bone scan obtained 7 days after initial frostbite that was used to predict the need for amputation of at least one finger or toe‚" the FDA noted."On day 7‚ the bone scan finding predictive of needing amputation was observed in 0% (0 of 16) patients receiving iloprost alone (Group 1) compared to 19% (3 of 16) patients in Group 2 and 60% (9 of 15) patients in Group 3. The presence of the bone scan abnormality was significantly lower in the two groups receiving iloprost. Most patients had follow-up information on whether they subsequently underwent at least one finger or toe amputation. The need for amputation was consistent with the bone scan findings‚" the FDA added.Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox.
