A new study by Free Speech America found that Google was guilty of election interference on 41 occasions from 2008 to today. Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed into law a bill that would ban homeless people from camping in public spaces‚ and many on the left were outraged. The bill would ban homeless people from sleeping or camping on public streets‚ sidewalks‚ or in parks beginning Oct. 1. “Florida will not allow homeless encampments to intrude on its citizens or undermine their quality of life like we see in states like New York and California‚” said DeSantis in a statement. “The legislation I signed today upholds our commitment to law and order while also ensuring homeless individuals have the resources they need to get back on their feet.”The law calls on local municipalities to provide sleeping spaces for homeless people who are approved by the Florida Department of Children and Families. If they fail to do so‚ they can be sued by businesses and residents. Sobriety is 'not realistic'Critics claim that the bill will make homelessness worse and unfairly punishes the homeless. "It's not meeting people where they are at. It's also wanting them to be sober‚ which is not realistic with a portion of this population‚" said Michael Kimberl of the Alfred Washburn Center to WEAR-TV. "I don't know where we can put in camp grounds that won't lower property value in our community‚ so it sounds like we are going to be making leper colonies out in the middle of nowhere‚ where people don't have access to resources‚" he added. "Until someone shows me how this is gonna work‚ it sounds disastrous."Others lambasted DeSantis and Republicans on social media. "This is BAD. Homeless people migrate to Florida because they can survive there. This is cruel. Half the people I know go squat the woods in Florida every winter‚" responded homeless activist Rebecca Powell. Neuralink posted a livestream on X featuring Noland Arbaugh‚ the first person to use Neuralink's technology that enables control of a computer via thought. In the video on Wednesday‚ Arbaugh said that he is 29 years old and noted that he is paralyzed below his shoulders due to a "diving accident" around 8 years ago. He demonstrated his ability to move the cursor on the computer screen and play chess using the Neuralink technology. Investigators have revealed that Angela Chao was heavily intoxicated when she perished in a car accident in Texas in February. Chao was a shipping industry CEO and the sister to Elaine Chao‚ the wife of Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky. The 50-year-old was found dead after her car was submerged in a a pond on a private ranch in Johnson City‚ 40 miles away from Austin. EMS responders tried to resuscitate the woman for 43 minutes before they said that she had "succumbed from being under the water." The Blanco County Sheriff's Office initially called the incident "an unfortunate accident" and later referred to it as "not a typical accident."On Wednesday‚ a report from the Blanco County Sheriff’s Office said investigators concluded that Chao's death was an “unfortunate accident." They said her blood alcohol content was nearly three times the state's legal limit. Witnesses on the night of her death said that Chao had been at a dinner party and she later frantically called her friends to tell them she was trapped in the car. They tried to swim out to help her‚ but it was too late. Chao's relation to McConnell led some online to push conspiracy theories that involved his sister-in-law being murdered. Others noted that some Tesla users have complained that their design leads to accidental shifting into reverse when the driver intends to drive forward. Car safety experts told Inside Edition that anyone who drives into a body of water should open their windows to try to escape immediately instead of reaching for their phone‚ which wastes precious seconds. McConnell said in February that he was planning to step down as Senate minority leader after experiencing several health scares that led many to question his ability to fulfill the duties of the office. Three teenagers made national headlines after they robbed a north Houston bank‚ but their underage reign of terror came to an end after their parents turned them in to police. The kids were 11‚ 12‚ and 16 years old according to police. No other details were released about the trio because of their ages. The Harris County Sheriff's Office said that the boys passed a threatening note to a bank cashier at the Wells Fargo bank in Greenspoint just after 3 p.m. on Thursday. The boys did not present a weapon‚ but the cashier believed they were armed‚ and they were able to escape on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Initially witnesses described the kids as aged between 14 and 18 years. After the FBI office in Houston released a surveillance photo of the children‚ tips started rolling in. Parents of two of the boys turned them in to police while a third was identified by law enforcement after he got into a fight. Investigators said they recovered a weapon and also an item that was distinctive from the photos taken during the robbery. The children will be charged with second-degree felony robbery by threat. They face probation until 18 years of age or juvenile prison until 19 years of age‚ according to a criminal defense attorney who spoke to KTRK-TV. They were dubbed the "Little Rascals" by the FBI in their initial request for information from the public. Retired juvenile district court judge Mike Schneider told KTRK that it was very unusual for bank robbery suspects to be so young. "It's one of the first times I've seen that‚" he said. "I was thinking either this was very low in sophistication or maybe an adult had something to do with this. That is not uncommon. Because kids have a punishment that is less severe‚ it is not uncommon for adult offenders to get them to commit crimes." Law enforcement officials have not said whether other suspects were involved in the alleged bank heist. Some on social media used the occasion to mock the FBI when they initially asked for help identifying the kiddie culprits.
