Professor Is Fired for “Misconduct” Following Greta Thunberg Tweet

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties‚ subscribe to Reclaim The Net. A case of censorship in academia has emerged when Andrew Timming‚ an esteemed professor of human resources from Australia‚ was abruptly terminated‚ just days before Christmas last year. A faculty member at RMIT University in Australia‚ Timming claimed that his dismissal represented the climax of a prolonged offensive against him. This situation was reportedly triggered by a simple tweet he posted about climate activist Greta Thunberg nearly a year earlier. Timming claimed that his dismissal represented the climax of a prolonged offensive against him. Timming’s career took a hit following a tweet he posted. The incident stemmed from an exchange on social media involving Andrew Tate and Greta Thunberg. Tate‚ who posted a photo with his Bugatti‚ boasting about owning 33 cars. He provocatively asked Thunberg for her email to send her a list of the cars’ “enormous emissions.” Thunberg responded with sarcasm: “Yes‚ please do enlighten me. Email me at smalldickkenergy@getalife.com” Amidst this online spat‚ Professor Timming saw an opportunity to comment on what he perceived as a gender-based disparity in humor. He highlighted the contrast in reactions to sexual jokes depending on whether they’re made by a man or a woman. His tweet juxtaposed two phrases‚ both followed by emojis‚ to illustrate his point. The first phrase‚ “Demeaning sexual jokes when directed from a woman to a man‚” was accompanied by smiley and wink emojis. The second‚ “Demeaning sexual jokes when directed from a man to a woman‚” was followed by bomb and skull-and-crossbones emojis‚ signifying a more critical reaction. This tweet led to Professor Timming’s dismissal. Timming has conveyed his dismissal story as an intellectual freedom violation after a tweet he posted in December 2022 garnered widespread attention. He navigated through an escalating course of events that saw him assert allegations of evidence manipulation by an RMIT executive to Victoria’s renowned Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission. Timming‚ who is a founding member of the Free Speech Union’s Australian chapter‚ publicly charged that the university intended to oust him following the controversy the tweet roused. His claim was reinforced in May‚ when the academic institution burst into outrage over a complaint that Timming filed‚ accusing it of intimidating him with disciplinary action‚ thereby infringing upon the university’s intellectual freedom policy. In a shockingly swift turn of events‚ he was faced with accusations of misconduct on December 13. The university questioned his refusal to comply with employment directives‚ which Timming contended were a near doubling of his teaching load. He was found guilty just a week later. Further repercussions took place‚ as the professor was relieved of his position the very next day in a meeting‚ and denied access to the university’s computer network. He was granted permission to retrieve his personal belongings under supervised conditions. Timming’s dismissal saga has found no closure yet‚ as he seeks to challenge it before RMIT and the Fair Work Commission (FWC). He navigated through an escalating course of events that saw him assert allegations of evidence manipulation by an RMIT executive to Victoria’s Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission. House Republicans unveil articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas: 'Threatens our national security'

House Republicans unveiled articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Sunday morning."Alejandro N. Mayorkas‚ in violation of his oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies‚ foreign and domestic‚ to bear true faith and allegiance to the same‚ and to well and faithfully discharge the duties of his office‚ has willfully and systemically refused to comply with Federal immigration laws‚" the impeachment articles read. The GOP representatives declared Mayorkas had "repeatedly violated laws enacted by Congress regarding immigration and border security.""In large part because of his unlawful conduct‚ millions of aliens have illegally entered the United States on an annual basis with many unlawfully remaining in the United States‚" the document continued. "His refusal to obey the law is not only an offense against the separation of powers in the Constitution of the United States‚ it also threatens our national security and has had a dire impact on communities across the country."The articles of impeachment warned about the illegal entry of non-citizens on the terrorist watchlist invading the country. Between the fiscal years 2017 through 2020‚ there were a combined 11 individuals on the terrorist watchlist caught attempting to cross the U.S. southern border. However‚ there were an alarming 169 non-citizens on the terrorist watchlist trying to enter the country in fiscal year 2023. So far in 2024‚ there have been 49 possible terrorists nabbed at the border. Last week‚ a coalition of former FBI officials warned Congress that the border crisis is ushering in a "new and imminent danger" from "military-aged men from across the globe" infiltrating the southern border‚ which could result in a catastrophic attack on U.S. soil. The impeachment articles stated‚ "Despite clear evidence that his willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law has significantly contributed to unprecedented levels of illegal entrants‚ the increased control of the Southwest border by drug cartels‚ and the imposition of enormous costs on States and localities affected by the influx of aliens‚ Alejandro N. Mayorkas has continued in his refusal to comply with the law‚ and thereby acted to the grave detriment of the interests of the United States."The GOP lawmakers proclaimed that Mayorkas "implemented a catch and release scheme‚ whereby such aliens are unlawfully released‚ even without effective mechanisms to ensure appearances before the immigration courts for removal proceedings or to ensure removal in the case of aliens ordered removed."The Republican reps wrote that there were an average of 590‚000 illegal immigrants encountered at ports of entry on the Southwest border during the fiscal years of 2017 through 2020. During Mayorkas' tenure‚ the numbers skyrocketed to more than 1‚400‚000 in fiscal year 2021‚ over 2‚300‚000 in fiscal year 2022‚ and a whopping 2‚400‚000 in fiscal year 2023. The articles of impeachment said the massive influx of undocumented migrants has created a "fiscal and humanitarian crisis and dramatically degraded the quality of life" for Americans. The GOP politicians pointed out that New York City had already spent $1.45 billion addressing the migrant crisis‚ and would spend another $12 billion over the next three fiscal years – which has caused significant cuts to critical city services. The impeachment articles highlighted that the "flow of fentanyl across the border and other dangerous drugs‚ both at and between ports of entry‚ has increased dramatically" with Mayorkas at the helm of the DHS.The U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized approximately 4‚800 pounds of fentanyl in fiscal year 2020‚ around 11‚200 pounds in fiscal year 2021‚ an estimated 14‚700 pounds in fiscal year 2022‚ and 27‚000 pounds in fiscal year 2023. More than 70‚000 Americans died from fentanyl overdoses in 2022‚ and the lethal drug is the top killer of U.S. citizens between the ages of 18 and 45. The articles of impeachment against Mayorkas were introduced by Rep. Mark Green (R-Tenn.).Green declared‚ "These articles lay out a clear‚ compelling‚ and irrefutable case for Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ impeachment. He has willfully and systemically refused to comply with immigration laws enacted by Congress. He has breached the public trust by knowingly making false statements to Congress and the American people‚ and obstructing congressional oversight of his department."The House Homeland Security Committee will consider the impeachment articles during a Tuesday morning meeting. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) has vowed to bring them to the House floor for a vote "as soon as possible."The Department of Homeland Security responded to the allegations by saying in a statement that Republicans had failed to present evidence that Mayorkas had committed any "high crimes or misdemeanors.""This markup is just more of the same political games from House Homeland Security Committee (CHS) Republicans‚" the DHS stated. "They don’t want to fix the problem; they want to campaign on it. That’s why they have undermined efforts to achieve bipartisan solutions and ignored the facts‚ legal scholars and experts‚ and even the Constitution itself in their quest to baselessly impeach Secretary Mayorkas."Like Blaze News? Drone attack kills 3 US troops in Jordan and wounds at least 2 dozen service members‚ Biden blames radical Iran-backed militant groups

Three U.S. troops have been killed and at least a dozen service members were wounded in a drone attack on an American military base in Jordan‚ according to multiple reports. U.S. military officials said the aerial drone attack on American troops occurred overnight on the Tower 22 – a small military outpost in northeast Jordan‚ near the borders of Syria and Iraq. — (@) U.S. Central Command – which oversees forces in the Middle East – said three service members were killed and 25 were injured from a "one-way attack" by an unmanned drone. The names of the American casualties are being withheld for 24 hours after their next of kin have been notified. The deaths marked the first fatalities of U.S. troops in the region since the Israel-Hamas war erupted. President Joe Biden said in a statement‚ "While we are still gathering the facts of this attack‚ we know it was carried out by radical Iran-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq."Biden said America's "heart is heavy" following the "loss of these warriors in this despicable and wholly unjust attack.""These service members embodied the very best of our nation: Unwavering in their bravery. Unflinching in their duty. Unbending in their commitment to our country— risking their own safety for the safety of their fellow Americans‚ and our allies and partners with whom we stand in the fight against terrorism. It is a fight we will not cease‚" Biden declared. "The three American service members we lost were patriots in the highest sense‚" he continued. "And their ultimate sacrifice will never be forgotten by our nation."President Biden added‚ "We will carry on their commitment to fight terrorism."Biden vowed‚ "And have no doubt — we will hold all those responsible to account at a time and in a manner our choosing."CNN reported‚ "As of Friday‚ there had been more than 158 attacks on U.S. and coalition forces in Iraq and Syria‚ though officials have described the constant volley of drones‚ rockets‚ and missiles as unsuccessful as they have frequently not caused serious injury or damage to infrastructure."Like Blaze News?
