It also bans magazines with more than ten rounds for rifles and more than 15 rounds for handguns. “The application for a writ of injunction pending certiorari […] The post SCOTUS Punts on Emergency Action in IL “Assault Weapons” Ban appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Prominent Latinos Demand More Illegal Immigration &; Citizenship

Joe Biden looked like he would cut a deal with the House GOP to make “meaningful changes” to border security protocols. He doesn’t want to‚ but the GOP won’t send pallets of cash and guns to his buddy in Ukraine if he doesn’t. As soon as it looked like there would be a resolution‚ two […] The post Prominent Latinos Demand More Illegal Immigration &; Citizenship appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Netanyahu Addresses Israel After 3 Hostages Accidentally Killed In ‘Terrible Tragedy’: ‘It Struck Me Hard’

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed his country on Saturday night about the tragic accident that unfolded late this week in which three of the Israeli hostages that were taken by Hamas were accidentally killed inside Gaza. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Friday that it “mistakenly identified 3 Israeli hostages as a threat and as a result‚ fired toward them and the hostages were killed.” The three hostages — Yotam Haim‚ Samer Talalka‚ and Alon Shamriz — were all kidnapped from Kibbutz Kfar Aza by Hamas terrorists during their unprecedented attack on October 7. The IDF said that they immediately launched an investigation into the incident and that it has learned “immediate lessons” that have since “been passed on to all IDF troops in the field.” “The IDF expresses deep remorse over the tragic incident and sends the families its heartfelt condolences‚” the statement added. “Our national mission is to locate the missing and return all the hostages home.” During his address to Israel‚ which was given in Hebrew and translated by his office‚ Netanyahu said that the country mourned the tragic deaths of the three hostages. “When I was updated about the terrible tragedy – it struck me hard‚” he said. “Alon‚ Samar and Yotam survived hell for 72 days‚ they were almost one step from freedom‚ they had touched redemption and then disaster struck. It broke my heart. It broke the entire country’s heart. Our heart goes out to the families in their time of deep mourning.” “At this difficult time‚ it is important for me to stand by our soldiers‚” he continued. “They are giving their lives to achieve a crushing victory over our enemies and return our hostages. We are doing – and will do – everything to safeguard the lives of our soldiers‚ each and every one of them‚ and we will use all means so that they are not hurt.” Netanyahu added that despite international pressure from anti-Israel voices‚ the country would not let up its military campaign against Hamas because “military pressure is essential both for returning the hostages and achieving victory over our enemies.” “Without the military pressure‚ we would not have succeeded in creating an outline that led to the release of 110 hostages‚” he said. “And only continued military pressure will lead to the release of all of our hostages. My directive to the negotiating team is based on this pressure‚ without which we would have nothing.”

Police Investigating Gay Democrat Sex Video In Senate Room; Lawyer Says Charges Could Be Filed

U.S. Capitol Police is reportedly investigating a gay sex tape that appears to have been filmed in the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing room in the Hart Senate Office Building in Washington D.C. The Daily Caller obtained and released the recording of the alleged staffer having anal sex with another man‚ who is not identified. “The alleged staffer can also be seen in a photo‚ naked on all fours‚ looking back at the camera on the table where Senators often sit to ask questions during a hearing. It appears to be unprotected sex‚” The Daily Caller’s Henry Rodgers reports. The Washington Free Beacon reports that the staffer allegedly is Aidan Maese-Czeropski‚ who works as a legislative aide for Cardin. Maese-Czeropski has since responded to the allegations in a statement on social media‚ saying that he has been “attacked for who I love‚” and that he “would never disrespect my workplace” and is “exploring what legal options are available to me.” Cardin’s office released a statement on Saturday saying that Maese-Czeropski was “no longer employed by the U.S. Senate.” The declined to comment further on the matter. Jonathan Turley‚ an attorney and professor at George Washington University Law‚ said that there were various charges that could be brought forward in the case under the D.C. code‚ including Section 22-1312 for lewd‚ indecent‚ or obscene acts. “It is unlawful for a person‚ in public‚ to make an obscene or indecent exposure of his or her genitalia or anus‚ to engage in masturbation‚ or to engage in a sexual act as defined in § 22-3001(8)‚” the statute says. “It is unlawful for a person to make an obscene or indecent sexual proposal to a minor. A person who violates any provision of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and‚ upon conviction‚ shall be fined not more than the amount set forth in § 22-3571.01‚ imprisoned for not more than 90 days‚ or both.” Turley argued other charges that could be brought forward include Section 1361‚ which protects “any property” of the United States from willful depredation or attempted depredation; 18 U.S.C. 641 on the misuse of public money‚ property‚ or records; and 18 U.S.C. 1752‚ which defines trespassing as anyone who “knowingly enters or remains in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority to do so.”

Former pope contender becomes first-ever cardinal prosecuted in Vatican's criminal tribunal‚ court seeks $181 million

A former pope contender has become the first-ever cardinal to be prosecuted in Vatican's criminal court. Cardinal Angelo Becciu was convicted of embezzling millions from the Vatican. Judge Giuseppe Pignatone read the verdict on Saturday in a Vatican courtroom‚ which sentenced Cardinal Angelo Becciu to 5 ½ years in prison.Prosecutor Alessandro Diddi boasted that the guilty verdict "showed we were correct."Becciu's lawyer‚ Fabio Viglione‚ said he would appeal the sentence. The BBC noted‚ "Becciu‚ 75‚ was the most senior Vatican official ever to face such charges and once seen as a papal contender himself."In September 2020‚ Becciu‚ resigned from the Vatican's secretariat of state after being implicated in a financial scandal. Pope Francis accepted Becciu's resignation.Becciu reportedly oversaw a multimillion-euro investment in a $380 million luxury property in London. NBC News reported‚ "In the end‚ he was convicted of embezzlement stemming from the original investment of 200 million euros in a fund that bought into the London property‚ as well as for his 125‚000 euro donation of Vatican money to a charity run by his brother in Sardinia. He was also convicted of using Vatican money to pay an intelligence analyst who in turn was convicted of using the money for herself."Becciu allegedly paid 575‚000 euros‚ about $627‚000‚ to Cecilia Marogna for intelligence services. However‚ Marogna used that Vatican money to buy luxury goods and go on vacations‚ according to prosecutors. The disgraced cardinal claimed that he thought the money was being used to pay a British security firm to negotiate the release of Gloria Narvaez – a Colombian nun taken hostage by Islamic militants in Mali in 2017.Becciu said Pope Francis authorized up to 1 million euros to liberate the nun.At the Vatican tribunal‚ Marogna was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison for her role. Prosecutors also sought damages of over 400 million euros from Marogna and Becciu to try to recover the estimated 200 million euros they claim the Holy See lost in the bad deals. The Vatican court ordered the confiscation of 166 million euros‚ roughly $181 million‚ from the pair and the payment of civil damages to Vatican offices of 200 million euros‚ or about $218 million.Becciu's former secretary‚ Monsignor Mauro Carlino‚ was completely acquitted.Like Blaze News?
