This Is How LA Police Enforce the Law These Days

This is how Los Angeles conducts law enforcement these days. They trap drivers. The person entrapping the driver in the clip below stepped in front of a car about one second before the car approached. This is very Orwellian and dangerous. This nonsense is how the ruling government thinks it should be done. They don’t […] The post This Is How LA Police Enforce the Law These Days appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

As Kamala Plots A Comeback, We Ask Her Supporters: What Has She Accomplished?

Kamala Harris announced this week that she was extending her book tour into 2026, adding stops in, among other places, Wisconsin and South Carolina. The addition of these two major primary states seems to signal what everyone pretty much already assumes: that Harris, former vice president and erstwhile presidential candidate, is going to run again. To get a sense of whether Kamala’s supporters are any more energized this time around, The Daily Wire swung by an earlier stop on the veep’s book tour to ask her supporters a simple question: “What was Kamala Harris’s biggest accomplishment as vice president?” The answers don’t bode well for Kamala.    View this post on Instagram   A post shared by The Daily Wire (@realdailywire) One supporter, wearing a “Childless Dog Ladies For Kamala” shirt said she was “drawing a blank.” While many struggled to answer, the most common response after “I’m not sure” was that Harris brought “joy and hope to the American people.”  Another supporter credited Harris with border security saying, “She really made a difference at the borders. She stopped people from coming into the country illegally.” (More than 10 million people crossed the border illegally during the Biden-Harris administration, according to the Heritage Foundation). When asked why Harris lost the 2024 presidential election, several attendees pointed to sexism. “America just isn’t ready for a female president.”  Another alleged, “I think there was cheating.” Harris attributes her loss to the brevity of the campaign, which lasted just 107 days — thus her memoir’s title. She says the abbreviated timeline was just not enough time for her to connect with voters.  The line to get into Harris’s stop wrapped around the building, and the event was sold out. The crowd was overwhelmingly female, with The Daily Wire estimating roughly 10 women for every man.

Anti-ICE Hecklers Disrupt Kristi Noem’s Congressional Testimony

Anti-ICE Hecklers Disrupt Kristi Noem’s Congressional Testimony

Anti-ICE activists disrupted Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem as she testified on Capitol Hill Thursday. Noem was giving her opening statement to the House Homeland Security Committee during a hearing entitled “Worldwide Threats to the Homeland.” But before she could finish her opening remarks, Noem was interrupted by two anti-ICE hecklers. The first activist, who was donning Catholic cardinal attire, got up and began shouting over Noem. “Stop ICE raids! The Power of Christ compels you!” he yelled as he held up a sign and brandished a cross. Capitol Police swiftly removed the man from the hearing room and were instructed to arrest him. Just as officers were escorting him out, a second man got up and began repeatedly shouting: “Get ICE off our streets, stop terrorizing our communities!” A leftist dressed as a Catholic Cardinal just interrupted Secretary Noem’s opening statement yelling “the power of Christ compels you.” A felony and blasphemy at the same time. pic.twitter.com/cIgxcHqQWm — Greg Price (@greg_price11) December 11, 2025 Noem remained unfazed and continued her testimony once both hecklers were removed from the hearing room. As the Trump administration has carried out its mass deportation campaign, there has been an 8,000% increase in death threats and a more than 1,100% surge in assaults, according to the Department of Homeland Security. Some of those threats have tragically materialized. In September, a shooter opened fire on a Texas ICE facility, killing two detainees and himself as he tried to target federal officers. In a nearby facility, a group of alleged Antifa anarchists lured federal agents outside using fireworks before firing off bullets on July 4, resulting in one local officer being injured. Christmas Sale – Get 40% off New DailyWire+ Annual Memberships Activists are regularly following federal immigration agents making arrests across the country, and some have attempted to obstruct them. Venezuelan Opposition Leader Says Maduro Regime ‘Weaker Than Ever,’ Praises Trump’s Actions

María Corina Machado, the exiled Venezuelan opposition leader and newest Nobel Peace Prize laureate, said on Thursday that the Venezuelan regime is “weaker than ever” thanks to President Donald Trump’s pressure. Machado visited Norway on Thursday, where she answered questions from reporters and spoke positively about Trump’s recent moves to ramp up pressure on Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, The New York Times reported. Her comments came one day after the United States seized an oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela that the Trump administration believes was part of an illegal shipping network transporting oil from Venezuela and Iran. While Machado did not address the oil tanker seizure, she said that Trump’s recent “actions have been decisive to reach the point where we are right now, in which the regime is weaker than ever.” “Venezuela has already been invaded. We have the Russian agents, we have the Iranian agents, we have terrorist groups such as Hezbollah, Hamas, operating freely in accordance with the regime. We have the Colombian guerrilla, the drug cartels,” Machado added while speaking at a press conference alongside Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store. Maduro’s regime has close ties to China, Russia, and Iran, and the United States has accused the Venezuelan dictator of taking part “in a corrupt and violent narco-terrorism conspiracy” that has shipped deadly drugs to American shores. Machado fled Venezuela after she helped organize protests against the socialist government after it claimed that Maduro won the 2024 presidential election over opposition leader Edmundo González despite evidence showing that Maduro lost. Machado said on Thursday that she escaped the country with “support from the United States government.” Christmas Sale – Get 40% off New DailyWire+ Annual Memberships Trump and Machado have spoken positively about each other in recent months after the Venezuelan leader beat out Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, a recognition that Trump has been aggressively seeking since coming back to the White House. After winning the Nobel Peace Prize, Machado said she was dedicating the award to President Trump “for his decisive support of our cause.” Trump said that Machado called him after she was announced as the Nobel Prize winner. “A very nice thing to do,” Trump said of Machado’s call in October. “I didn’t say, ‘Then give it to me,’ though I think she might have. She was very nice.” “I’ve been helping her along the way,” he added. “They need a lot of help in Venezuela, it’s a basic disaster. So, and you could also say it was given out for ’24 and I was running for office in ‘24.” Trump also praised Machado in January, shortly after the Venezuelan opposition leader was forced to flee the country. Trump said that Machado was “peacefully expressing the voices and the WILL of the Venezuelan people with hundreds of thousands of people demonstrating against the regime.”

Federal Judge Orders Kilmar Abrego Garcia Freed From ICE Custody

Federal Judge Orders Kilmar Abrego Garcia Freed From ICE Custody

A federal judge on Thursday ordered Kilmar Abrego Garcia to be “immediately” released from an immigration detention facility as the Department of Homeland Security vows to challenge the decision. “This is naked judicial activism by an Obama appointed judge. This order lacks any valid legal basis and we will continue to fight this tooth and nail in the courts,” said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis said that “since Abrego Garcia’s return from wrongful detention in El Salvador, he has been re-detained, again without lawful authority” and granted his petition to be freed from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody. “Abrego Garcia’s case demands judicial intervention,” Xinis said. Christmas Sale – Get 40% off New DailyWire+ Annual Memberships Xinis instructed the federal government to inform Abrego Garcia of her order and to notify the court by 5 pm ET on Thursday of the time and location of his release. “Because Abrego Garcia has been held in ICE detention to effectuate third-county removal absent a lawful removal order, his requested relief is proper,” Xinis added. In March, Abrego Garcia, 30, was deported to El Salvador’s CECOT mega-prison after President Donald Trump and other administration officials claimed he was a member of the MS-13 crime gang. Over the summer, the Salvadoran native was returned to the United States to face human smuggling charges and released into his brother’s custody. He has pleaded not guilty and denies being a gang member. He was later detained again by federal authorities and is now being held in a Pennsylvania detention facility. In November, the Trump administration asked Judge Xinis to dissolve a ban on deporting Abrego Garcia to Liberia, a West African nation. The administration has been seeking to deport him to at least five other countries. He reportedly lived in Maryland for more than a decade after entering the United States illegally. Abrego Garcia’s human smuggling trial in Tennessee is set to start in January, but he’s trying to get the charges dropped, claiming he is being unfairly prosecuted. According to the indictment, Abrego Garcia and accomplices conspired to unlawfully transport aliens from Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Ecuador, and other nations into the United States.

Ending The Woke Monopoly: White House Takes Aim At Higher Ed’s Ideological Capture

Ending The Woke Monopoly: White House Takes Aim At Higher Ed’s Ideological Capture

Last week, the White House convened an education roundtable with U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon titled, “Biased Professors, Woke Administrators, and the End of Free Inquiry on U.S. Campuses.” Secretary McMahon opened the event by stating, “It was an honor to be at the White House today with this dedicated coalition of students, faculty, institutional leaders, and policy advocates to highlight the issue of woke ideology and the capture of our institutions of higher education. DEI policies have turned universities from free marketplaces of ideas to purveyors of manufactured ideological conformity, chilling free speech and undermining academic rigor.” She explained, “We are committed to working with higher education leaders to reverse course from these decades of decline.” The Secretary highlighted actions taken by the Trump Administration, including dissolving DEI programs, enforcing merit-based practices, and guiding universities to comply with federal law, noting that over 400 institutions have made substantive changes. The U.S. Department of Education is working to incentivize universities to operate with fairness, academic rigor, and civil discourse. Providing strong, positive leadership, Secretary McMahon shared, “We want to provide every opportunity for colleges to recommit themselves to principles like non-discrimination, open discourse and neutrality, financial responsibility, resisting foreign influence, and putting students first.” She called for a recommitment to principles of reason, individual excellence, and non-discrimination to create a “golden age” of higher education. This was the second in a series of higher education roundtables. The first roundtable was held at the White House on November 19, titled “Administrative Bloat and Low-Value Programs: How U.S. Universities are Failing American Families and How They Can Reform.” It addressed higher-education affordability and key components of President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, including new caps on graduate loan borrowing aimed at reducing costs and boosting accountability. Undeniably, the Trump Administration is providing pivotal leadership to reform public higher education. As Eric Bledsoe, Special Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy with a focus on education, explained at last week’s roundtable, “universities serve a public interest and must be held accountable by the public.” Bledsoe also noted that higher education should be about “cultivating mature citizens who are prepared for the workforce.” It’s common sense 101, and thankfully for the American people, this administration is working overtime to change the status quo and cultivate a return to normalcy in public higher education, which has been overtaken by wokeness. In October, the “Compact for Academic Excellence in Higher Education” was released by the Trump Administration and sent initially to nine institutions. It outlined eight “priorities of the U.S. government in its engagement with universities that benefit from the relationship.” It clearly notes that “Institutions of higher education are free to develop models and values” other than those outlined “if the institution elects to forego federal benefits.” The priorities are as follows: equality in admission, marketplace of ideas and civil discourse, non-discrimination in faculty and administrative hiring, institutional neutrality, student learning, student equality, financial responsibility, and foreign entanglements. The Compact reads: “The leadership of an academic institute is directly responsible for its strategy, success, and adherence to legal and governmental requirements.” More specifically, each year, the institute’s President, Provost, and Head of Admissions will be required to certify that the university abides by the principles outlined in the Compact. Violators — whether willfully or negligently — will lose benefits for at least one year. Repeat offenders will lose benefits for at least two years. Additionally, funds advanced to the university by the federal government during the year of violation must be returned. Most notably, “any private contributions to the university during the year(s) in which such violation occurred shall be returned to the grantor upon the request of the grantor.” Universities collectively receive hundreds of billions of dollars each year, yet do not deliver soundly on their mission. This much-needed accountability is a major step in the right direction. As Secretary McMahon communicated at the most recent White House education roundtable, she is inviting those leading higher education institutions to join her in “creating a golden age of academe — committed to reason, not racial preferences. Merit, not marginalizing the so-called ‘oppressor.’ Individual excellence, not ideological indoctrination.” University leaders would be wise to get out of the business of indoctrination and discrimination and instead focus on fulfilling their institution’s mission of open inquiry and excellence in academics. Even if they do not align with the Trump Administration, agree with the Compact, or value meritocracy, their institution’s bottom line will be better for it. And most importantly, so will their students and our nation. * * * Dr. Keri D. Noem Slams House Dem For Calling D.C. Terrorist Attack An ‘Unfortunate Accident’

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem hit back at Democratic House Homeland Security committee ranking member Bennie Thompson, who referred to the recent terrorist attack in Washington, D.C., as an “unfortunate accident” during a hearing Thursday on Capitol Hill. Noem was testifying before the committee to discuss “worldwide threats” to the nation. Thompson questioned Noem after he said she “referenced the unfortunate accident that occurred with the National Guardsmen …” But Noem quickly interrupted: “You think that was an unfortunate accident? It was a terrorist attack.” “I mean, wait, wait, look, I’ll get it straight, then you can respond,” Thompson responded. One of the soldiers, Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, of the West Virginia National Guard, tragically passed away a day after the attack. Her colleague, West Virginia National Guardsman Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still recovering from his injuries. During the attack, Lakanwal yelled “Allahu akbar!” according to court documents.
