Kimmel Decries 'Inhumane' GOP Health Care Stance To Buttigieg

For some unknown reason, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel welcomed former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to his Wednesday show to discuss the political world’s recent developments, including on health care. True to form, Kimmel could not resist calling GOP efforts “inhumane” despite not actually describing what those efforts entail. Additionally, during his earlier monologue, Kimmel lamented that Paramount is trying to buy Warner Bros. Discovery, which includes CNN, and led him to claim all “we’ll have left” after such a purchase would be “Rachel Maddow and Reading Rainbow.” In the Buttigieg interview, Kimmel lamented that the Biden-era Obamacare subsidies are set to expire and attacked Republicans, “I mean, besides it being hurtful and damaging and inhumane and all of those things, isn't it just dumb? I mean, aren't people going to be very angry when they realize they're paying another $1,200 a month for health insurance?”     It is ironic that Senate Republicans unveiled their new plan on Tuesday and Kimmel pretended that never happened. However, Kimmel brings on guests to parrot his own ideas, and Buttigieg obliged, “I would think so. Yeah, and look, that's one of the reasons why you see right now some Republicans, not a lot, but some Republicans starting to do something remarkable, which is defying this president. You're seeing it with people I never thought you would see this from.” Like his host, Buttigieg then displayed a strange new respect for Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and others, “Marjorie Taylor Greene, you know, Nancy Mace criticizing Republican leadership. In Indiana, the statehouse there, very Republican state, Republican supermajority, the president of the United States personally begging them to redo the districts and, up until now at least, doesn't have the votes.” Earlier in the show, Kimmel played a clip of Trump telling CNN reporter Kristen Holmes that her network is “basically an arm of the Democratic Party.” Kimmel lamented, “Okay. So that happened today. But if the Ellisons get their way, it might not happen again. [Paramount Skydance CEO] David Ellison has reportedly promised Trump sweeping changes at CNN if he gets it and Netflix doesn't, which is bad news for news. Kimmel then rattled off several changes to CNN programming that he claimed Ellison would bring to make the network more Trump-friendly, “Some of the hosts, they’re saying Dana Bash would be replaced by Dana White. The Source with Kaitlan Collins will become The Source with Caitlyn Jenner. The Lead with Jake Tapper will be The Lead with Jake Paul. Erin Burnett, they’re going to swap out for Aaron Rodgers, and Wolf Blitzer is out of the room, and The Situation is in.” He then went into full freak-out mode, “So, it's disturbing. It's disturbing. And right now Netflix is like, what if we promised to make Queer Eye less gay? Would that if we change queer to beer, would that help? Does the right not have enough news networks? I mean, look at this. This is if they take CNN, all we'll have left is Rachel Maddow and Reading Rainbow.” Not only is Kimmel omitting his own employer, but he can’t even credibly argue that Ellison has turned CBS into a right-wing network. It is just another example of the idea that for the left, nothing other than 100 percent constant opposition to Trump is good enough. Here is a transcript for the December 10 show: ABC Jimmy Kimmel Live! 12/10/2025 11:46 PM ET JIMMY KIMMEL: Okay. So that happened today. But if the Ellisons get their way, it might not happen again. David Ellison has reportedly promised Trump sweeping changes at CNN if he gets it and Netflix doesn't, which is bad news for news. There are already rumors flying about some of the shows that he wants to change. Some of the hosts, they’re saying Dana Bash would be replaced by Dana White. The Source with Kaitlan Collins will become The Source with Caitlyn Jenner. The Lead with Jake Tapper will be The Lead with Jake Paul. Erin Burnett, they’re going to swap out for Aaron Rodgers, and Wolf Blitzer is out of the room, and The Situation is in. So, it's disturbing. It's disturbing. And right now Netflix is like, what if we promised to make Queer Eye less gay? Would that if we change queer to beer, would that help? Does the right not have enough news networks? I mean, look at this. This is if they take CNN, all we'll have left is Rachel Maddow and Reading Rainbow. … 12/11/2025 12:27 AM ET JIMMY KIMMEL: I mean, besides it being hurtful and damaging and inhumane and all of those things, isn't it just dumb? I mean, aren't people going to be very angry when they realize they're paying another $1,200 a month for health insurance? PETE BUTTIGIEG: I would think so. Yeah, and look, that's one of the reasons why you see right now some Republicans, not a lot, but some Republicans starting to do something remarkable, which is defying this president. You're seeing it with people I never thought you would see this from. Marjorie Taylor Greene, you know, Nancy Mace criticizing Republican leadership. In Indiana, the statehouse there, very Republican state, Republican supermajority, the president of the United States personally begging them to redo the districts and, up until now at least, doesn't have the votes, and I think that's really telling because I think in the same way that before taking over this country he took over his party, I think the way that his power is starting to collapse will be first within his party and then more broadly in the country. But here's the thing, these Republicans are doing something that many in my party are still struggling to do, which is actually to imagine what happens next. They're doing this because they're thinking ahead and they are aware of something that we know, as a fact, is true but we have trouble picturing, which is that a day will come when Donald Trump is no longer active in American politics and we had better be ready for that day.

Apple News Shows ONLY 1 Right-Leaning Outlet in Top 20 Daily Articles Throughout November

Apple News should come with a warning label disclosing its radical leftist bias. In November, its editors chose only one article from a right-leaning source, and that source wasn’t even an American outlet. MRC Free Speech America researchers began documenting the stories and outlets featured by Apple News in its top 20 stories each morning on Nov. 3, 2025. Human editors select the top stories on Apple News, which sets it apart from some competing Big Tech news aggregators that rely on automated algorithms, as reported by news outlets including the leftist New York Times. Apple News's direct control of its top stories exposes the platform's bias, especially since only one of the 560 articles examined in November came from a right-leaning source. Seemingly adding insult to injury, the single story came from “lean right,” British outlet The Telegraph. MRC was not surprised by Apple News's inclusion of The Telegraph, given that the article touched on the Sudanese genocide, a topic the elitist media have largely neglected.  To make matters worse, the article was behind Apple’s “Apple News+” premium subscription service. This means that users who do not pay Apple to see its highly biased news roundup could not even view the article. Other articles selected by the Apple News editors about the Sudanese genocide of Christians and other non-Arabs came from outlets such as Al Jazeera, The Washington Post and NBC News. Apple News featured articles from radically leftist outlets such as Vox, The New Yorker, The Atlantic and Vice, during the time frame studied. It also featured articles from fairly local or unknown outlets such as WLRN South Florida, an NPR and PBS affiliate, and the North Dakota Monitor and the Louisiana Illuminator, both States Newsroom affiliates. Yet, Apple News failed to select a story from any of the three right-leaning outlets found among the top 20 most-visited news sites in America: Fox News, the Daily Mail or the New York Post. MRC’s findings leave no doubt about who Apple News is cheering for. Far from just a harmful news aggregator, it is a hub of cherry-picked stories driven by a partisan agenda. Anyone choosing to get their news from Apple should be clearly informed of its bias. Methodology: During the time period Nov. 3 - 30, 2025, MRC researchers examined the top 20 news stories featured on Apple News each day at approximately 10:00 AM EST. Researchers then used the AllSides media bias ratings, which categorize an outlet as “left,” “lean left,” “center,” “lean right” or “right” to determine the overall bias presented by Apple News and calculate the results. Old Church, Old Barn: Preserving More Than Just Supplies

Old boards creak under your boots. Light slips through a century barn and paints the floor in narrow bands. Down the lane a little white church needs paint, but the bell still calls on Sunday. These places carry memory, duty, order, and grit. Preparedness means beans in the pantry and fuel in cans. Preparedness also […]

Culture’s great subversion machine has broken down at last

Netflix just announced its next animated children’s film, “Steps,” a Cinderella inversion in which the evil stepsisters are the real heroes. Shocking, I know. The platform is also releasing “Queen of Coal,” a film about a “transgender woman” overcoming the patriarchy in his small Argentinian town.Reports of the demise of wokeness were premature. Its adherents remain committed to pushing it across every domain of society. What’s notable is how boring it has all become. Deconstruction has been the default mode of modern culture, but it is running out of things to deconstruct. The transgression has lost its power as the taboo fades, and in that exhaustion, something new — perhaps something true — stirs. The revolution brought destruction, but its exhaustion brings new possibilities. Some call Friedrich Nietzsche the first postmodernist for announcing that “God is dead.” Whether he was a precursor or ground zero, the genealogy of the movement clearly flows from his work. You can argue about whether he unleashed several horrors into the world or merely acknowledged their arrival, but Nietzsche at least understood the seriousness of his claim. He understood that having the blood of God on your hands was not a clever academic parlor trick — it was monstrous. With the creator of the universe declared dead, modern man felt free to dismantle the order that once bound him. The sacred bonds of hierarchy were shattered. Postmodernism launched its assault on the good, the beautiful, and the true. And breaking sacred bonds releases immense energy. The leftist revolution that consumed the West drank deeply from it.The church, the community, the family, marriage, gender roles, gender itself — each time the left destroyed one of these natural structures, it seized the power trapped inside and wielded it against its enemies.Deconstruction reaches its natural endBut deconstruction has a natural end point. Transgression requires something sacred to violate. As I have written before, you eventually reach the point where there is nothing left to transgress. When every movie, show, novel, game, and song “subverts” the traditional Christian norm, the subversion becomes the norm. That’s why these Netflix offerings feel so lifeless: They all follow the same trajectory toward the same inversion.Fifty years ago, critics complained that stories were predictable because the squeaky-clean hero always triumphed. Today they are predictable because the villain is always a misunderstood victim of bigotry who deserves to win. The inversion isn’t clever or subversive. It’s the boring status quo.The death of who?So what happens when postmodernism has inverted every hierarchy, mocked every sacred symbol, and squeezed the last drop of power out of attacking Christianity? The philosopher Alexander Dugin offers a compelling answer. If modernity was the death of God, the end of postmodernism is the exhaustion of subversive secular culture. At that point, new possibilities appear. Instead of proclaiming that “God is dead,” people start asking, “The death of who?” The old order fades so completely that secular man forgets what he was rebelling against.Meanwhile, the promise of becoming like gods and remaking the world in our own image begins to sour. We see the consequences of rejecting the good, the beautiful, and the true — and find them unbearable.A postmodern moral wastelandPostmodern man has lived his entire life in a world re-engineered from the top down by “experts.” When he cast God from His throne, man imagined he would shape the world through his own individual will. But the modern secular man discovers instead a moral wasteland. He finds that he is captive not to his own liberated self, but to darker forces once held at bay by the divine order he dismantled. He no longer remembers what that order looked like — or why he rebelled against it. And in that moment, the opportunity to rediscover the spiritual returns.RELATED: We’re not a republic in crisis. We’re an empire in denial. Blaze Media Illustration The revolution brought destruction, but its exhaustion brings new possibilities. People have forgotten the object of their rebellion, and now they look at the miserable world secular man has made. They crave something more.Order, duty, faith, meaning. These begin to look far more promising than the ugly, pointless chaos modern man created for himself. People once again thirst for a world where the good guy wins and God reigns.God never died — modernity didThe truth is that God never died. Christ died and rose again. Modern man tried to replace the divine with science and reason, but the Lord is the source of reason itself. He cannot be dethroned by His own creations. As deconstruction loses its revolutionary energy and becomes stale, the desire to re-embrace sacred order returns. J.R.R. Tolkien captured this when he wrote: “Evil cannot create anything new. It can only spoil and destroy what good forces invented or created.” Eventually evil runs out of things to spoil. A barren, thirsty culture begins searching for the living water only divine truth can provide.Ready for revivalModern culture is bankrupt, and everyone feels it. The attempts at transgression now read as hollow conformity to a corrupted system. We are not the masters of our own world or our own truth — and thank God for that.We do not have to live in the nihilistic abyss we created. The natural order waits just beneath the surface, ready to re-emerge in a cultural revival. The creative future will not come from a relativistic Hollywood clinging to the corpse of deconstruction. It will come from those willing to embrace the transcendent — from those who understand that the world is held together not by our will to power, but by the truth and beauty of our Creator.
