WATCH: Rep. Pfluger Tells Crain & Co. Why The GOP Always Wins The Congressional Baseball Game

Republicans clobbered Democrats for the fifth consecutive year in last night’s Congressional Baseball Game. Rep. August Pfluger, the Republican Study Committee Chairman, who clinched his second MVP title, joined Crain & Company before the game to share his thoughts on why the GOP has won every game since 2022. “What I’d say to America is, forget about baseball, take the uniforms off, just stand us side by side: who do you want leading the country? I’ll leave that up to America to decide. Not that baseball is an indicator of legislating, but it kind of is.” “My district cares that I can represent them legislatively. But they really care if I can play baseball,” Pfluger added. WATCH: REP. AUGUST PFLUGER JOINS CRAIN AND COMPANY TO TALK CONGRESSIONAL BASEBALL GAME Pfluger, who was a high school quarterback and catcher, has played for the GOP since 2022, pitching for them in 2023. He noted how seriously he and his teammates take the game, describing intense, early-morning practices. “We practice at least 25 times, and by the way, we’re not practicing at 8:00 a.m. It’s a 5:45 start time,” Pfluger said. “We’re out there throwing, we come back, we’re icing the shoulder a little bit, in my case, and then we go to work at 7:30, 8:00.” The Congressional Baseball Game has been played intermittently since 1909. While Democrats dominated at first, Republicans have won 46 games compared to the Democrats’ 42. Funds from the game go towards various charities. This year’s game benefited the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, the Tim Johnson Memorial Scholarship, and Nationals Philanthropies. “You’ve got the Republicans vs. the Democrats, which to me just seems like a bloodbath,” Crain & Co. co-host Jake Crain told Pfluger. Asked by Crain & Co. co-host David Cone just “how intense” the game really is, Pfluger was unequivocal. “It is intense…when we get out there on the field, we’re trying to win,” he said. “This is not bipartisan,” Pfluger said. “This is a real baseball game.” “The Dems can’t get a dub if you handed it to them on a plate right now! Nobody buries them deeper than those guys,” Jake Crain noted. Last night’s game also marked the return to the field of Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL), who made history as one of the few players to get an out-of-the-park home run in the 2021 game. Steube missed the past few Congressional Baseball Games due to an injury. “This has been the best interview I’ve done in five years,” Pfluger told the Crain & Co. boys. “Thank you for letting me talk about sports.”

According to a statement from the palace translated by People, “The surgery went well,” the palace shared in the statement. “She will remain in the UMC Utrecht for monitoring until tomorrow.” According to the Royal House of the Netherlands website, Catharina is the direct air to the throne. “Catharina-Amalia Beatrix Carmen Victoria, Princess of Orange, Princess of the Netherlands, Princess of Orange-Nassau, is first in line to the throne. She was born in The Hague on 7 December 2003, and is the eldest child of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima,” the website states. Many took to social media to share words of encouragement for Princess Catharina following her fall. A concerned follower wrote, “Hope she’s ok!!” This person had a similar experience and hopes Princess Catarina a full recovery. “I too once broke my upper arm in a fall from a horse; I too am (part) Dutch; I am not, however, a royal princess. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.” Many shared similar greetings with her royal highness. Like this person, “Best wishes for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery!” And this one, “Swift recovery to Her Royal Highness!” Hopefully Princess Catharina will heal and be back on her horse quickly. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Renewed for Fifth and Final Season

News star trek: strange new worlds Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Renewed for Fifth and Final Season Captain Pike and his crew will close out with six final episodes. By Vanessa Armstrong | Published on June 12, 2025 Credit: Marni Grossman/Paramount+ Comment 0 Share New Share Credit: Marni Grossman/Paramount+ The third season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds hasn’t even premiered yet, but Paramount+ is already looking to explore new seasons. Today, the streamer announced that the show, which was already greenlit for a fourth season, would also get a fifth. The bad news? That fifth season, which will have six episodes, will be the show’s final. “From the very beginning, Strange New Worlds set out to honor what Star Trek has always stood for—boundless curiosity, hope and the belief that a better future is possible,” executive producers Akiva Goldsman, Henry Alonso Myers, and Alex Kurtzman said in a statement. “We’re deeply grateful to Paramount+ for the chance to complete our five-season mission, just as we envisioned it, alongside our extraordinary cast and crew. And to the passionate fans who’ve boldly joined us on this journey—THANK YOU. With three more spectacular seasons ahead for you to see and enjoy, this adventure is far from over.” The five-season arc appears to be a trend with the recent Star Trek shows. Lower Decks also bowed out at five, as did Star Trek: Discovery. Picard ended after three seasons, but that was less surprising given that Picard actor Patrick Stewart likely had a say on when he wanted to be done. That being said, it’s still a bit of a bummer to see Strange New Worlds end, even though that ending is still a ways off. But let’s focus on the good! We have three more seasons of the show to look forward to, starting with season three. The first two episodes of season three premiere on July 17, 2025, on Paramount+, with new episodes dropping weekly on Thursdays. Season four of the show is currently in production, and the fifth and final season will go into production later this year.[end-mark] The post Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Renewed for Fifth and Final Season appeared first on Reactor.
