Surprising No One, KPop Demon Hunters Becomes Netflix’s Most Watched Movie Ever

News KPop Demon Hunters Surprising No One, KPop Demon Hunters Becomes Netflix’s Most Watched Movie Ever Sorry, Red Notice. Your time is over. By Vanessa Armstrong | Published on August 26, 2025 Credit: Netflix Comment 0 Share New Share Credit: Netflix KPop Demon Hunters has been delighting millions ever since it came out on Netflix this June. It’s been so popular, in fact, that the streamer released a sing-along version in theaters last weekend and then dropped that sing-along version on their platform yesterday. The excitement around the film and the recent addition of KPop Demon Hunters Sing-Along have finally made the movie the most watched Netflix film ever. It’s taken the No. 1 spot from the forgettable Red Notice, a 2021 action-comedy starring A-listers Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds. (If you’re interested in the numbers, KPop has 236 million “views” since its premiere, while Red Notice garnered only 230.9 million in the same 13-week post-premiere time frame.) The love for KPop Demon Hunters doesn’t seem to be slowing down either. Billboard announced this week that the movie’s soundtrack is the first to have four songs simultaneously in the Top 10, and I can’t even imagine the level of cosplay and Halloween costumes we’ll see based on the movie. Speaking of the movie, here’s the synopsis if you’ve been living under a rock and/or don’t have younger people in your life: When they aren’t selling out stadiums, Kpop superstars Rumi, Mira, and Zoey use their secret identities as badass demon hunters to protect their fans from an ever-present supernatural threat. Together, they must face their biggest enemy yet—an irresistible rival boy band of demons in disguise. The movie, of course, is available on Netflix for your (re)watching pleasure. Zohran Mamdani’s LGBTQIA+ ‘Educational Liaisons’

Zohran Mamdani’s LGBTQIA+ ‘Educational Liaisons’

Avowed socialist and New York City mayoral front-runner Zohran Mamdani garnered attention with his pledge to allocate tens of millions of taxpayer dollars to gender-affirming medical care, but far less publicized is his proposal to fund LGBTQIA+ “educational liaisons” in every public school.   Mamdani’s LGBTQIA+ policy memo states that only two LGBTQIA+ liaisons cover the 1,800 schools and 900,000 students under the purview of the NYC Department of Education. Under Mamdani’s plan, an Office of LGBTQIA+ Affairs would be created, costing taxpayers $3 million to expand staffing and place at least one liaison in every NYC school district. Given Mamdani’s views on gender ideology, these positions would inevitably push affirmation-only “gender-affirming care,” embedding the “student-to-trans pipeline” and placing children at the center of trans activism. The DOE already has a sprawling web of diversity roles—each school must have a “Respect for All” liaison, a Sexual Harassment Prevention liaison and often a Gender & Sexuality Alliance staff liaison, plus every district has a Title IX liaison.  With so many overlapping roles, adding more LGBTQ-specific liaisons feels less like filling a gap and more like expanding an already bloated bureaucracy, a hallmark of the socialist-style governance that thrives on creating new administrative roles, often tailor-made for political allies and activists.  In this case, the system seems less about bolstering support and more about multiplying titles and opportunities to appoint fellow Democratic Socialists of America-aligned staff into taxpayer-funded posts. Additionally, institutionalizing ideological programming will raise concerns about parental rights, oversight and the vague duties of these “educational liaisons.” Mamdani’s platform is largely a response to President Donald Trump’s January executive order restricting gender transition procedures, such as puberty blockers, hormone therapy or surgeries for individuals under 19, though the mandate is presently in court. Mamdani has pledged to make NYC a sanctuary for LGBTQIA+ individuals and families, offering legal protections against federal rollbacks. His plan includes a $65 million investment in public providers of gender-affirming care for both youth and adults, as well as the creation of a gender-affirming care “Access Hub” to expand outreach and connect patients with providers. Under his administration, Mamdani has pledged to hold private hospital systems accountable for denying gender-affirming care to transgender youth, arguing such refusals violate state and city law. Mamdani also plans to coordinate with the New York State attorney general and local district attorneys to investigate noncompliant hospitals, hold public hearings and pursue legal consequences.  Zohran’s LGBTQIA+ policy memo pledges to codify the NYC Transgender and Gender Expansive Guidelines to ensure that “all DOE schools are held accountable to respecting students’ identities.”  The NYC Department of Education’s guidance allows schools, depending on circumstances and the student’s wishes, to withhold a student’s gender identity from parents. The policy requires access to restrooms, locker rooms and changing areas consistent with asserted gender identity, and prohibits mandating alternatives like single-use restrooms.  Schools must provide reasonable alternatives for students seeking privacy, such as single-occupancy restrooms or separate schedules. Students are also generally permitted to participate in physical education and athletics in line with their asserted gender identity. Mamdani’s political rise in New York is more than a local story, it’s part of a deliberate strategy by socialists to export their controversial gender agenda nationwide. At last month’s Socialism 2025 conference, Democratic Socialists of America member Daniel Goulden openly detailed plans to use New York as a launching pad for national policy expansion.  Goulden said he helped write Mamdani’s transgender policy platform, boasting of his access to Mamdani’s inner circle: “With Zohran, we’re in basically the best possible position to seize state power … [Democratic Socialists of America] has regular meetings with him, let alone his team. His policy director is my friend. I’ve been working with his campaign manager for well over a year. I have friends who are in his staff.” “Zohran is literally attempting to do what conservatives say we want to do—provide gender-affirming care to anyone who wants it for free,” Goulden said. “We’re gonna fly people in and pay for their hotel rooms.” The goal? To use New York City’s political and financial infrastructure to provide free gender-transition services nationwide: “What we explicitly wanted to do was use the power of New York City to provide free gender-affirming care—and I say free in case insurance companies decide to boot us off—free gender-affirming care, not just to people in New York City, but across the country. There’s no reason at all that we can’t use telehealth and mailing prescriptions to people across the whole country to undermine state bans.” A Mamdani spokesperson denied that Goulden was affiliated with the campaign, according to a statement provided to the New York Post.  Regardless, the strategy is clear: sidestep state laws across the U.S. by turning New York into a hub for taxpayer-funded gender medical services for out-of-state residents, regardless of whether their own states have passed laws to restrict or regulate such procedures. A key component of their sidestepping strategy is to use the schools, with a captive audience of other people’s children, to promote their ideology. This includes facilitating relationships with strangers, known as LGBTQIA+ liaisons, who have an explicit agenda and set of marching orders, likely bypassing parental rights and fostering early pathways toward medical intervention. In their own words, these activists are using New York to push policies most Americans have never voted for, and they’re planning to scale it nationally. We publish a variety of perspectives. Bondi Orders DC to Temporarily Suspend Sanctuary City Policies

Bondi Orders DC to Temporarily Suspend Sanctuary City Policies

For years, Washington, D.C.’s sanctuary city laws barred local police from cooperating with federal immigration authorities. However, a recent order from U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi effectively nullifies many of these rules—so long as President Donald Trump retains federal control of the district. Two weeks ago, Trump declared a crime emergency in the nation’s capital and federalized the Metropolitan Police Department for 30 days—the maximum period allowed for a state of emergency before an authorization from Congress is required to lengthen it. Trump Announces He’s Deploying the National Guard in DCPresident Trump said he is “officially invoking section 74 of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act” as well as “deploying the National Guard to help establish law, order, and public safety in Washington, D.C.”“They will… pic.twitter.com/bYyL15h5Q4— The Daily Signal (@DailySignal) August 11, 2025 The Trump administration has been in an on-again, off-again legal battle with local officials over whether local police officers can assist federal immigration authorities like U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement with arresting illegal aliens.   View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Daily Signal (@thedailysignal) In 2020, the D.C. Council passed a law prohibiting local law enforcement from cooperating with federal officials, effectively turning the District of Columbia into a “sanctuary city.” The local law also prohibits ICE officials from interrogating people in police custody.  Less than a week after Trump federalized the police, D.C. Police Chief Pamela Smith issued an order allowing officers to share information about individuals “not in MPD [Metropolitan Police Department] custody (e.g., during traffic stops)” with federal immigration authorities and provide transportation to federal officers and “detained subjects.” The order still prohibited local police from looking into an individual’s immigration status for the purpose of enforcing immigration laws and prohibited ICE from interrogating persons in police custody and other civil immigration enforcement measures within the district. Less than a day later, Bondi rescinded Smith’s order, appointed Drug Enforcement Administration Administrator Terry Cole as the district’s “emergency police commissioner” and suspended the sanctuary city laws.    Within 12 hours, D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb sued the Trump administration, calling the order a “hostile takeover” and “unlawful.” Soon after, the Trump administration and the district government struck a deal: Cole would serve as Bondi’s “designee,” meaning he will have to ask Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser for the police department’s assistance in enforcing federal immigration laws for the duration of Trump’s emergency order. Bondi also “affirmatively directed” the police department to fully cooperate with federal immigration officials and assist agents with “locating, apprehending, and detaining aliens unlawfully present in the U.S.,” notwithstanding “D.C. code or MPD policy,” according to her Aug. 15 order. However, this cooperation will only last if Trump retains control over the Metropolitan Police Department after the 30-day emergency period, which is set to end on Sept. 11.  Trump recently told Daily Signal White House correspondent Elizabeth Mitchell that he plans to work with Congress to extend the 30-day federalization. ? Is President Donald Trump planning on extending the federalization of police in Washington, D.C.?He tells The Daily Signal's @TheElizMitchell today at the Kennedy Center. We look forward to partnering more closely with our counterparts in Washington, as we make D.C. safe again.” The Daily Signal reached out to the Department of Justice, the D.C. Mayor’s Office, and the police department to see if the mayor has yet directed the police to cooperate with federal immigration authorities following Bondi’s Aug. 15 order. “MPD does not make arrests for violations of civil immigration laws. As it relates to immigration enforcement, MPD only makes arrests for criminal warrants and criminal judicial orders,” said an MPD spokesperson, citing D.C. Police Chief Pamela Smith’s Aug. 14 order. We did not hear back from the Department of Justice or the D.C. Mayor’s Office by time of publication. CNN Unglued: Trump Fighting Crime Like ‘Germany in the 1930s,’ Probes ‘Unprecedented’

In a sign of how poorly life has been going for the liberal media, two CNN guests lost their noodle on Monday with one saying President Trump surging law enforcement resources and National Guard members to Washington D.C. to fight crime was akin to Adolf Hitler’s Nazi “Germany in the 1930s” while another said Trump’s investigations of Russiagate promulgators and now John Bolton is “completely unprecedented.” Former Acting Vice Chief of the National Guard Bureau, retired Army Major General Randy Manner appeared on CNN multiple times Monday and it was during a hit on CNN News Central that he dropped the Nazi comparison.     Asked by co-host Brianna Keilar what he made of reports the Trump administration will have “specialized National Guard units around the country to ‘deal with public order issues.’” Manner shrieked this “is absolutely abhorrent” and “reminds me so much of what happened in Germany in the 1930s” with Trump “put[ting] [on] a show of force to anybody who opposes him.” “He wants armed and uniformed military on the streets. If his true intent is all about law and order, then this should be what it is. It should be a law enforcement operation, not a military operation. He should restore the funds for community policing, for education, for the hiring of policemen and women in all of the jurisdictions,” he added. Manner tossed out more fear-porn for CNN viewers, calling the use of the National Guard to curb crime “unconscionable” and “very disconcerting because we are not a nation that is run by the military” and antiethical to the “civil authority of duly elected leaders.” Keilar further cued him up, wondering how Trump’s “politiciz[ing] military when the Trump Administration is only activating the Guard in cities that are in states with Democratic governors, but not in states with Republican governors even if those are cities that are significantly more violent.” “[I]t is all about intimidating the people and the voters in the blue areas, the blue cities, the mayors, the governors that do not support his policies. It’s extremely clear that while this is legal action, he’s using it in that manner,” Manner replied. A few hours later, infamous Zoom self-pleasurer Jeff Toobin screeched on AC360 that Trump’s federal government investigating those who served in past administrations was a “criminal crusade against political adversaries” that’s “completely unprecedented in — in — in all of American history.”     Toobin hilarious then conceded the raid against former Trump national security adviser John Bolton was done with “search warrants...approved by an independent magistrate, both in Washington and Maryland.” Nonetheless, she huffed this and investigating everyone from Senator Adam Schiff (D_CA) to Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook to former President Obama “is absolutely unprecedented.” Sure enough, former Trump 1.0 Homeland Security official Miles Taylor — aka “Anonymous” — is continuing his years-long grift to make the hearts of rich, white, liberal wine moms swoon (click “expand”): ANDERSON COOPER: Miles, how concerned are — what happened to Bolton could happen to you? TAYLOR: Anderson, we think it’s likely. I mean, we think that there’s a decent chance. I mean, if you know, past is any indicator of what the President’s done, we think this is certainly possible. But one of the things I want to point out is I think people can get a little disassociated from this whole thing when they focus on the elites who are being targeted. Maybe it worries the average American that John Bolton or Chris Christie or Senator Schiff or Miles Taylor is being targeted, but they don’t think it really affects them. That’s where I think people are wrong. This is affecting them. In the United States of America you don’t need a permission slip to criticize the President of the United States. But now, through his retributive actions, the President is making it as such and he’s warping every institution in our society. His revenge against the media affects the news you consume, his revenge against educational institutions, affects where you send your kids to school, his revenge against legal institutions might make it harder for you to get a lawyer. Heck, he’s sending troops into your cities. I mean, this campaign is going to touch every single American and by the way, if you think none of those things matter to you, did you ever like a tweet that was critical of Donald Trump? Have you ever friended someone on Facebook that’s critical of him? Well, next time there’s a tornado or a flood in your community, your aid, your disaster aid could be tied to that. That may sound crazy, but the President himself has said, he will start making aid decisions in the office of the President and we’ve already seen he wants to reward allies and punish enemies. This doesn’t just affect elites. This revenge campaign affects everyone. (....) TAYLOR: [J]ust having the President order his agencies to investigate you is enough to detonate your life and in our case, it has meant that we’ve had stalkers coming after us, stalkers threatening my wife and my one-year-old daughter. We’ve had to hire a team of attorneys. You know, the business that I was running was destroyed by this. My business partners forced the dissolution of our company because they too were scared of being in Donald Trump’s crosshairs if they stayed associated with me. I’m the sole income earner in my household. I mean, really, really quickly, you watch these things unravel. You see friends, you see family members who you thought would be in the trenches run for the hills. The level of social fear, Anderson, in this second Trump administration is exponentially higher than the first. So once you’re added to that blacklist, it’s a wrecking ball to your life, regardless of whether they bring charges against you. Trump demands death penalty for DC murderers

President Donald Trump continues to crack down on crime, this time calling for capital punishment. During Tuesday's Cabinet meeting, Trump said he would be seeking the death penalty for anyone who was found guilty of murder in Washington, D.C. Trump acknowledged the severity of this proposal but said it was a "preventative" measure to significantly improve the safety and quality of life for residents in the nation's capital. 'We have no choice.'"If somebody kills somebody in the capital — Washington, D.C. — we're going to be seeking the death penalty," Trump said."It's a very strong preventative, and everybody that's heard it agrees with it," Trump added. We have no choice." pic.twitter.com/2FSPQG7II8— TheBlaze (@theblaze) August 26, 2025 "I don't know if we're ready for it in this country, but we have no choice," Trump said. "So in D.C., in Washington, states are going to have to make their own decision, but if somebody kills somebody ... it's the death penalty." Trump's call to action comes just two weeks after the administration federalized the Metropolitan Police Department and deployed the National Guard. Before Trump took matters into his own hands, D.C. had the fourth-highest homicide rate in the country, with 27.3 murders for every 100,000 residents in 2024, which is nearly six times higher than New York City. After Trump took bold action to secure the city, D.C. managed to go nearly two weeks without a homicide. RELATED: President Trump's DC crime crackdown is getting results Photo by MANDEL NGAN/AFP via Getty ImagesDuring the Cabinet meeting, Trump addressed NTD News' White House correspondent, Iris Tao, who recounted her own experience with violent crime in D.C. Over two years ago, Tao said she was robbed at gunpoint and pistol-whipped by a young man in a ski mask in broad daylight, which she said "deeply traumatized" her and her family. "I'm very grateful to God ... but also to Mr. President," Tao said. "Thank you for now making D.C. safer ... on behalf of my parents and now my baby on the way."Like Blaze News? Media melts down as DC crime crackdown proves WILD success

For the first time in years, Washington, D.C., just went nine days without a single murder— and of course, the media is acting like it’s a bad thing. The drop in crime comes after more than 2,200 Guard troops were deployed in Washington, who were instructed not to use their weapons unless facing bodily harm themselves.“The calming words from the people in charge saying, ‘We’re not really going to use these unless there’s a real emergency,’ that didn’t calm down the media, and they framed it a certain way, right?” BlazeTV host Stu Burguiere comments on “Stu Does America.”“Like it’s this evil sort of crackdown on the city. It’s always kind of tilted that way,” he continues, noting that many recent articles do exactly that.“Some National Guard units in Washington are now carrying firearms in escalation of Trump deployment,” the AP headline reads. “Some National Guard troops in D.C. now armed as Trump takeover continues,” another headline from Fox 5 reads.“Now, the other headline you should probably know about all of this, is this one,” Burguiere says. “‘Incredible results’: Trump thanks National Guard, police for patrolling D.C.”JD Vance has also been quite vocal about how well the deployment has been working, despite the liberal media refusing to report on it.“To echo something the president said about crime in Washington, D.C., this is the national capital of the greatest nation in the world, and we had murder rates just a few weeks ago that rivaled some of the worst third world cities anywhere, even in very, very poor regions of the world,” Vance said on August 22.“Why did we accept that? Why do we allow it to happen? We allowed it to happen because we had broken leadership in Washington, D.C., and unfortunately, sitting behind the Resolute desk, what we have shown in just under two weeks of taking law enforcement seriously is that the American people can have their street back if their leadership is willing to put in the time and the resources,” he continued.“Mr. President, you’ve shown in Washington, D.C., that we can have safe streets again," he added, praising Trump. "We’ve just got to have the political willpower to focus on the bad guys and to give the American people back their communities."Want more from Stu?To enjoy more of Stu's lethal wit, wisdom, and mockery, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

Florida teams up with ICE to crack down on illegal alien truckers after deadly crash

A fatal crash in Florida involving an illegal alien semi-truck driver earlier this month prompted the state to take new measures to prevent future tragedies.State Attorney General James Uthmeier announced Monday that the state would turn its weigh stations into Immigration and Customs Enforcement checkpoints.'All states that are serious about [commercial motor vehicle] enforcement should sign the 287 agreements with ICE and begin stationing ICE agents at weigh stations/ports of entry immediately.'Harjinder Singh, a 28-year-old Indian national who illegally crossed the border into the United States in 2018, was arrested after he jackknifed his truck while allegedly making an illegal U-turn on August 12. The maneuver caused the truck to crush a minivan, killing everyone in the vehicle. Singh obtained his commercial driver's license in California. The tragic incident highlighted problems in the American trucking sector related to the nation's illegal immigration crisis."Someone that never should have been given a driver's license, much less a CDL license to drive larger commercial vehicles, engaged in reckless behavior that took three lives," Uthmeier stated during a Monday press conference in Live Oak."Last night, we saw another example. We were able to arrest an individual who was in the country illegally, who was driving a commercial vehicle in Bay County," he continued.RELATED: American trucking at a crossroads: Deadly crash involving illegal alien exposes true cost of Biden’s border invasion Photographer: Carlos Moreno/Bloomberg via Getty ImagesRoberto Carlos Vergara Cervantes, an Ecuadorian national, was arrested by ICE and is awaiting deportation. He obtained his CDL from New Jersey, though it was not valid in Florida, according to Uthmeier."There's no telling how many illegal aliens are in this country driving large commercial vehicles and putting American families in a safety risk every single day," he added. — (@) Uthmeier, alongside Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson, announced immigration enforcement at Florida weigh stations, including a new station near the Alabama border on Highway 231. The move will also include the addition of more pullover lanes in north Florida and the implementation of X-ray technology."With 23 inspection stations on Florida roadways and 100% of our officers being certified in the 287(g) program, agricultural law enforcement officers are uniquely skilled and positioned to help prevent another tragedy and be a force multiplier in the fight against illegal immigration and criminal activity," Simpson stated.RELATED: Supporters of illegal alien truck driver accused of killing 3 demand light sentence: 'Shame on your white injustice' Photographer: Rebecca Noble/Bloomberg via Getty ImagesCole Stevens, the chief strategy officer for Stevens Trucking Co., supported Florida's move."All states that are serious about [commercial motor vehicle] enforcement should sign the 287 agreements with ICE and begin stationing ICE agents at weigh stations/ports of entry immediately," Stevens told Blaze News. "Our coalition has been yelling this for months, and some for years, just how bad the trucking industry has gotten with lack of enforcement for basic safety protocols as well as basic licensing checks.""Americans deserve to be safe on our roadways," he continued. "After all, they do pay the taxes for them through usage taxes, fuel taxes, etc., so they have a major say in roadway safety! I applaud this administration for answering the call and taking a multi-agency approach to correcting this issue that has been building up for years!"Like Blaze News?
