According to Delta, the plane, an Airbus 330, had 282 passengers, 10 flight attendants and two pilots on board. The airline said crews evacuated the cabin when flames were seen in the tailpipe of one of the plane’s two main engines. Passengers have returned to the terminal building and Delta said it will bring in additional aircraft to help get them on their way. “We appreciate our customers’ cooperation and apologize for the experience,” the airline said in a statement. “Nothing is more important than safety and Delta teams will work to get our customers to their final destinations as soon as possible.” The FAA said it will investigate the incident and Delta said maintenance teams will examine the aircraft. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s handbag, containing about $3,000 in cash, her DHS badge, passport, and other sensitive items, was reportedly stolen by a man wearing a medical mask at a Washington, D.C. restaurant on Sunday night. Noem confirmed the incident on Monday while attending the White House Easter Egg Roll, but indicated that the matter remains unresolved. Secret Service agents reportedly reviewed restaurant security camera footage, which showed an unknown white male wearing a surgical mask stealing her unattended bag before quickly exiting the establishment. Other stolen contents include Noem’s driver’s license, apartment keys, medication, makeup, and blank checks. A DHS spokesperson told Newsweek that Noem had such a large amount of cash on hand to “treat her family to dinner, activities, and Easter gifts.” “We can confirm this occurred last night. Her entire family was in town including her children and grandchildren,” DHS said. The past weekend’s earnings represent only a 10% decrease in revenue, which is among the 50 lowest percentage revenue drops for any movie that had a theatrical opening, per Screen Rant. This is significantly better than the industry average second-weekend drop, which usually ranges from 50% to 60%. “The King of Kings” came in third at the box office behind “Sinners” and “A Minecraft Movie.” The film has made just over $45 million, making it the second-highest-grossing movie for Angel Studios, behind 2023’s unexpected hit, “Sound of Freedom.” In its debut weekend, “The King of Kings” also broke the record set by “The Prince of Egypt” for most money earned by an animated biblical film during its premiere. “The Prince of Egypt” (1998) went on to earn over $100 million domestically. “The King of Kings” has been a massive hit with critics and audiences, too. It currently has a 65% critic score and 98% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. The reviewer from The San Francisco Chronicle noted the film’s “whimsical Dickensian touches.” “The King of Kings” is based on Charles Dickens’ book, “The Life of Our Lord.” He also called the movie “amusing and possibly enlightening Easter entertainment for younger children.” Most moviegoers were generous with their praise.
