Vance Refuses To Politicize Pope Francis’ Death: ‘Not Going To Soil The Man’s Legacy’

Vice President JD Vance refused to politicize the death of Pope Francis as he spoke with reporters on Wednesday, arguing that the pope was a “great Christian pastor.” The vice president said he was saddened by the pope’s death as he spoke with reporters in Agra, India, acknowledging that he was one of the last people to meet with the pontiff, but saying he had no idea that Pope Francis had less than 24 hours left on earth when the two met in Rome on Sunday. In his last Easter address, Pope Francis condemned “how much contempt is stirred up at times towards the vulnerable, the marginalized and migrants” and warned against leaders who “yield to the logic of fear.” The late pontiff also pushed back against President Donald Trump’s deportation plans ahead of the president’s inauguration. “I appeal to all those in positions of political responsibility in our world not to yield to the logic of fear which only leads to isolation from others, but rather to use the resources available to help the needy, to fight hunger and to encourage initiatives that promote development,” the pope said in his final address. “These are the ‘weapons’ of peace: weapons that build the future, instead of sowing seeds of death!” “A lot of people, especially in the American press want to make the Holy Father, his entire legacy, and even his death, about American politics,” Vance told reporters on Wednesday. “I think he was obviously a much broader figure than the United States of America, he represents over a billion Catholics worldwide.” Vice President JD Vance and Pope Francis. (Photo by Vatican Media via Vatican Pool/Getty Images) “Yes,” he added, “I’m aware that he had some disagreements with some of the policies of our administration. He also had a lot of agreements with the policies of our administration. I’m not going to soil the man’s legacy by talking about politics. I think he was a great Christian pastor, and that’s how I choose to remember the Holy Father.” Asked if he would like to see the next pope continue in Pope Francis’ tradition, he laughed and responded, “I won’t pretend to give guidance to the cardinals on who they should select as the next pope. We have plenty of issues to focus on in the United States. I’ll just say a prayer for wisdom, because I obviously want them to pick the right person. I want them to pick someone who will be good for the world’s Catholics, but I’ll let them make that decision.” President Donald Trump announced on Monday in a Truth Social post that he will attend the funeral of Pope Francis, “Melania and I will be going to the funeral of Pope Francis, in Rome. We look forward to being there!” The president will depart the United States for Rome on Friday afternoon. His announcement came after he ordered federal and state flags to fly at half-staff in memory of Pope Francis. “As a mark of respect for the memory of His Holiness Pope Francis, by the authority vested in me as President of the United States by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby order that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset, on the day of interment,” Trump wrote in a separate post. He added: “I also direct that the flag shall be flown at half-staff for the same length of time at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations.”

‘Utterly Despicable’: Rachel Morin’s Mom Slams Dems Visiting MS-13 Member In El Salvador

Patty Morin, whose daughter Rachel, a mother of five, was raped and murdered by El Salvadoran illegal immigrant Victor Martinez-Hernandez in 2023, condemned Democrats for championing the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an alleged MS-13 member whom the Trump administration deported to El Salvador, while ignoring her pain and never reaching out to her. Morin spoke of the White House press briefing last week at which she spoke, telling Fox News Digital, “People were literally shoulder to shoulder cameras, microphones everything going and as soon as I get up to the podium, everyone shut off their cameras; everyone shut off their microphones.” “People don’t realize what actually happened to my daughter,” she said. “And during the trial, and before the investigation, they only gave us an outline; they didn’t give us details. And during the trial, we actually saw the crime scene photos and the autopsy photos and they had so many expert witnesses come in and testify to this horrendous, gruesome brutal murder, this thing that happened to my daughter. And so I went in and I described, summarized, what had happened to her. She was dragged 150 feet; they followed a 150-foot blood trail to the culvert where her body was. Her body was outlined in blood. The silhouette of her body is against the tunnel ball outlined in the blood that was gushing from her head. She was raped. She was strangled. There wasn’t a part of her body that didn’t have some kind of bruise, abrasion, cut some kind of abuse to it.” “And none of them had their recorders on or their cameras on because they didn’t want the American people to know how violent these crimes are and how rampant they are,” she stated. “There’s only one or two maybe three that have hit the headlines, but there are thousands of these stories all over America that aren’t being covered because either 1) the family is ashamed; 2) law-enforcement doesn’t wanna cause a panic, and 3) it’s usually blue states or Democrats that wanna downplay it because for some reason, they are profiting in some way from having these 20 million illegal immigrants in our country.” “I had somebody just this past weekend come up to me and said that there has been migrant crime going on in Maryland and in our county for decades,” she recalled. “He cited one that happened 20 years ago and he said people don’t realize that that was a migrant crime because media and law enforcement kind of played it down.” Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) flew to El Salvador last week and met with Garcia. Democrat Reps. Robert Garcia of California, Maxwell Frost of Florida, Yassamin Ansari of Arizona and Maxine Dexter of Oregon flew there on Monday. “It’s been about 20 months since my daughter was murdered; it’s been about ten months that we’ve known it’s been an illegal immigrant, and in all this time, President Biden never reached out; Kamala Harris never reached out; Mayorkas never reached out,” Morin said. “Senators here in Maryland have not reached out at all. And it’s been almost 20 months, total. So their silence and their actions or lack of actions speak volumes to their character and the values that they hold. And as an American citizen, as a Maryland citizen, and as a mom, it tells me that I‘m not important or valuable, and that an illegal immigrant — that means he’s broken federal law by coming into the country and staying here, has broken state law by coming to the country and staying here, and then beating his wife, it’s in court; he’s broken other state laws — they would rather champion his cause, a criminal, than the victim. I think it is utterly despicable.” ? BREAKING STUDY: The anti-American media obsessed over illegal “Maryland man” for over 143 minutes and only spent 12 seconds covering the trial of Rachel Morin’s killer. The leftist media are America last! https://t.co/4TFpbxbupq — MRC NewsBusters (@newsbusters) April 23, 2025

Brittany Mahomes Shares Rare Family Photo With Newborn Daughter Golden

Patrick and Brittany Mahomes welcomed baby #3, Golden, in January, but we have yet to see her face. The younger sister of Sterling, 4, and Bronze, 2, appeared in Brittany’s Easter Instagram post. However, Mom paid careful attention to keeping her baby girl from the world. In an Instagram story posted on March 4, Brittany said she would not show Golden’s face “for a while.” It’s unclear why she allows Sterling and Bronze on social media and not Golden. But her fans didn’t seem to mind. They loved getting a glimpse of Brittany Mahomes and her baby, even if it was just from the back. Instagram Brittany Mahomes Shared Sweet Photos Of Her Kids With Baby Golden In Her Arms Brittany Mahomes carefully shielded Golden’s face with her hand as she smiled in an Instagram photo. “He is Risen. Happy Easter,” she captioned. Brittany, Patrick, Sterling, and Bronze all looked thrilled to share Easter Sunday on a beautiful sunny day. The kids participated in an Easter egg hunt and posed for photos with other sweet little children. Fans quickly shared Easter blessing with the Mahomes family. A follower wrote, “Wishing everyone a joyous Easter. Such a beautiful family photo. God Bless.” This person thinks Brittany Mahomes looks beautiful with the baby in her arms. “3 kids later and still so hot.” Someone shared, “Happy Easter to the Mahomes family! Love seeing the 3 kids!! God Bless you all. “ This person agreed, “Happy Easter, Mahomes family. Ladies, you are so beautiful, and what handsome guys.” A fan loved seeing Patrick and Brittany Mahomes with their kids, even if they only got a tiny peek at Baby Golden on Easter. “Happy Easter, finally we see a sneak peek of Golden Raye and she’s a brunette.” Good for Brittany Mahomes for sharing her baby a way that makes her comfortable and safe. Complete List Of Joe Walsh Songs From A to Z

Joe Walsh’s path through the rock and roll landscape has been anything but ordinary. Born in Wichita, Kansas, and raised in various parts of the Midwest, he first found his footing musically in Ohio, attending Kent State University. There, he became involved with local bands and sharpened his skills as a guitarist and songwriter. By the late 1960s, he joined The James Gang, a Cleveland-based power trio that would catapult him to national attention. His work with the group helped define their sound, most notably on tracks like “Funk #49” and “Walk Away,” blending hard rock with funky, bluesy energy. Man Revives Iconic Indian Lake by Converting Lake Weed Infestation into Organic Fertilizer Business

Andy Serkis’ Animated Animal Farm Has Cast a Bunch of Big Stars

News Animal Farm Andy Serkis’ Animated Animal Farm Has Cast a Bunch of Big Stars He is not some pig. By Molly Templeton | Published on April 23, 2025 Screenshot: Apple TV+ Comment 0 Share New Share Screenshot: Apple TV+ It feels a bit like absolutely everyone is signed on to star in Animal Farm, the animated adaptation of George Orwell’s novel, which is being directed by Andy Serkis (Venom: Let There Be Carnage). The novel—originally subtitled “A Fairy Story”—tells the story of a group of animals who rebel against their human owners. It is not a subtle story, and Orwell himself was clear that it was a satire aimed at Stalin. The book has been adapted twice before, in 1954 and 1999. Seth Rogen (The Studio, pictured above) is set to voice the pig Napoleon. Roles for the rest of the cast have not been specified, but said cast includes Gaten Matarazzo (Stranger Things), Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire), Glenn Close (Dangerous Liaisons), Laverne Cox (Orange is the New Black), Kieran Culkin (Succession), Woody Harrelson (True Detective), Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), Kathleen Turner (Serial Mom), and Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel). Serkis himself will also voice unknown character(s) in the film. Animal Farm is being adapted by writer Nick Stoller, who has worked on everything from Muppets Most Wanted to Zoolander 2. (He was also the director of Forgetting Sarah Marshall.) The movie’s producers include Serkis’ The Batman director Matt Reeves. Though Variety‘s post about the cast did not include a release date, Movieweb says Animal Farm is due out on July 11th.[end-mark] The post Andy Serkis’ Animated Animal Farm Has Cast a Bunch of Big Stars appeared first on Reactor.
