Biden Judge Blocks ICE Detention Policy for Congress

A Biden-appointed judge blocked Immigration and Customs Enforcement from restricting visits by members of Congress to detention centers.  U.S. District Judge Jia Cobb for the District of Columbia temporarily suspended the agency’s requirement that members of Congress give seven days notice before visiting an immigrant detention facility. This is the second block she placed on the policy. Cobb, appointed by Biden in 2021, has issued previous rulings against the Trump administration’s immigration and security policies.  In this case, 13 House Democrats, led by Rep. Joe Neguse of Colorado, sued in January, asserting that Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s restrictions on members violated the separation of powers.  The plaintiffs in this case, the House Democrats, “are undoubtedly frustrated with Defendants’ repeated attempts to impose a notice requirement,” Cobb’s decision says. “But in taking further action, Defendants are required to abide by the terms of the Court’s order and act consistently with the legal principles announced in this opinion.” Cobb previously blocked the Trump administration’s expedited deportation effort, asserting that federal agencies exceeded their statutory authority and violated due process protections for illegal aliens.  Cobb also restricted the Trump administration’s deployment of National Guard troops in Washington, D.C., and determined that the administration intruded on local rule. However, she didn’t order a halt to the deployments.  “This is yet another victory against an administration whose cruel and inhumane immigration policies have inflicted a heavy toll on communities across the nation,” Neguse, the Colorado Democrat and lead plaintiff, said in a statement. “We will never stop standing up for transparency and accountability, and we will continue to make clear that no president or administration can bend the rule of law to their will.” The post Biden Judge Blocks ICE Detention Policy for Congress appeared first on The Daily Signal.

EXCLUSIVE: New GOP Bill Looks to ‘Deliver Justice’ for Five-Year-Old Struck by Illegal Alien Truck Driver

A House Republican lawmaker introduced a bill on Wednesday to crack down on states that give illegal immigrants commercial driver licenses, or CDLs. The House legislation, spearheaded by Rep. Barr, R-Ky., is named ‘Dalilah’s Law’ in honor of Dalilah Coleman, the five-year-old who was nearly killed by an illegal immigrant driving an 18-wheeler ran a stop sign in California. “If you are an illegal, you should be deported, not handed the keys to the most powerful vehicles on the road,” Barr told The Daily Signal. “Dalilah Coleman is one of too many Americans who have been injured or killed by an illegal operating our most dangerous vehicles unlawfully.” Coleman was recognized by President Donald Trump during his State of the Union address on Feb. 24, and the president called on Congress to ban illegal immigrants from commercial truck driving. “Many, if not most, illegal aliens do not speak English and cannot read even the most basic road signs as to direction, speed, danger, or location,” the president said. “That’s why tonight, I’m calling on Congress to pass what we will call the Dalilah Law, barring any state from granting commercial driver’s licenses to illegal aliens.” Barr’s bill has companion legislation in the Senate. Sen. Jim Banks, R-Ind., introduced the legislation in the upper chamber last week, and shared a statement with The Daily Signal that said, “Americans are paying the price” because illegal drivers are “being handed” CDL’s “like candy.” “That stops now,” Banks added. The National Conference of State Legislatures noted that approximately 1 million commercial driver’s licenses have been administered to illegal immigrants since 2013.  Barr’s and Banks’ legislation would require states to limit commercial driver’s licenses to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and certain temporary work visa holders in order to receive any Department of Transportation funding. It requires states to revoke CDLs issued to undocumented immigrants or individuals without qualifying legal status, even if they previously had work authorization. The law also mandates English-only CDL testing to ensure that all commercial drivers possess the language skills necessary for safe operation on American roads. If enacted, the legislation would also strengthen verification processes and recertification requirements to ensure ongoing compliance with eligibility and safety standards. Executive Director of the Center for Immigration Studies Mark Krikorian recently told The Daily Signal that states like California have been able to bypass existing laws by outsourcing the vetting and training programs for commercial driving applicants to third party training academies, who are known for certifying unqualified drivers willing to work for a lower wage.   “States issue CDLs based on the say-so of driving schools. Many drivers have never had a representative from Department of Motor Vehicles with them in the vehicle during a driving test,” Krikorian said. “President Trump is 100% right than this needs to end, and I’ll lead the fight with Senator Banks to make sure this is done,” Barr added. US Embassies in Middle East Targeted by Drones, Mobs

Two Iranian drones struck the U.S. embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, resulting in a limited fire and minor damage to the building, according to Reuters. No injuries were reported. The strike on the embassy comes as Iran retaliates against Israel and U.S. military and diplomatic facilities in the Middle East after a joint attack by the two countries beginning on Saturday. Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense says it has intercepted eight drones near Riyadh and Al-Kharj. The U.S. State Department on Tuesday morning warned of “a threat of imminent missile and UAV attacks over Dhahran,” a Saudi Arabian city on the Persian Gulf. “Do not come to the U.S. Consulate,” the U.S. State Department of Consular Affairs wrote on X. “The U.S. Consulate in Dhahran urges U.S. citizens in Dhahran to shelter in place, review security plans in the event of an attack, and to stay alert in case of additional future attacks. U.S. Consulate personnel are sheltering in place,” the State Department warned. Dhahran, Saudi Arabia: There is a threat of imminent missile and UAV attacks over Dhahran. Protestors and supporters of the Iranian regime stormed the U.S. Consulate in Pakistan on Sunday. U.S. Marines opened fire on demonstrators, according to Reuters, and 10 deaths were reported after demonstrators breached the walls of the compound. It was not immediately clear whether Marines struck any of the demonstrators and if shots were fired from other security forces and police responding to the breach.   Demonstrations in Pakistan after the strikes on Iran have resulted in more than 20 deaths across the country, Reuters reports.   The State Department on Monday warned Americans across 16 countries in the region to leave, Reuters reported. The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem announced it had given a “shelter in place” directive to U.S. government employees and their families, while adding it “is not in a position at this time to evacuate or directly assist Americans in departing Israel.” The Trump administration has said that the campaign against Iran, known as Operation Epic Fury, is not intended to be an extended conflict. “President Trump will not get the United States into a years-long conflict with no clear objective,” Vice President JD Vance said Monday night. “Iran can never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon,” Vance added. “That is the goal of this operation, and President Trump will see it through to completion.” The joint U.S.-Israel attack resulted in the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Saturday. The next leader of Iran remains unclear. The post US Embassies in Middle East Targeted by Drones, Mobs appeared first on The Daily Signal.

U.S. Struck Iran Based on Intel on Israel Attack Plans, Officials Say

In a classified briefing Monday on the new military conflict with Iran, top White House cabinet members told congressional stakeholders that the initial American strikes came in response to reports Israel was planning a strike of its own. The officials suggested concerns over Iran targeting American forces in the region in response to an Israeli strike motivated the administration to act. “The imminent threat was that we knew that if Iran was attacked—and we believed they would be attacked—that they would immediately come after us,” Rubio told reporters ahead of the briefing. “We were not going to sit there and absorb a blow before we responded,” he continued, “We went proactively in a defensive way to prevent them from inflicting higher damage.” .@SecRubio: "The president made the very wise decision—we knew that there was going to be an Israeli action, we knew that that would precipitate an attack against American forces, and we knew that if we didn’t preemptively go after them before they launched those attacks, we… pic.twitter.com/Jp5rqpRH4T— Rapid Response 47 (@RapidResponse47) March 2, 2026 U.S. and Israeli forces have coordinated in striking targets across Iran as part of Operation Epic Fury. Iran has retaliated with strikes on Israel and U.S. bases and embassies in nearby countries. Iran’s leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed during the attack. He had been the country’s supreme leader since 1989. Six American service members have been killed in action so far, per U.S. Central Command. Rubio was joined by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine, and Central Intelligence Agency Director John Ratcliffe in briefing the members. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, R-La., leaving the briefing, painted a similar picture of the Pentagon acting early in order to maximize America’s advantage. “If Israel fired upon Iran… then they would have immediately retaliated against U.S. personnel and assets,” Johnson told reporters.  “We have troops in harm’s way and we have many Americans in the region and that was a great concern. If we had waited for all of those eventualities to take place, the consequences of inaction on our part would have been… devastating.” Sen. Mark Warner of Virginia, the top Democrat on the Senate intelligence committee, emerged from the briefing also describing Israel as a key player in the drama, but he expressed doubts about an “imminent threat” to America. “There was no imminent threat to the United States of America by the Iranians,” Warner said. “There was a threat to Israel.” “This is still a war of choice that… was dictated by Israel’s goals and timelines,” Warner continued. “I stand firmly with Israel, but I believe… when we are talking about putting American soldiers in harm’s way… then there needs to be the proof of an imminent threat to American interests. I still don’t think that standard has been met.” In both the House and Senate, members have war powers resolutions teed up, which, if signed into law, would restrain the administration’s ability to conduct military operations in Iran.  The resolutions are unlikely to acquire a veto-proof level of support. Johnson, asked about the resolution, said the idea of taking Trump’s “authority away right now to finish this job is a frightening prospect to me.” He added, “It’s dangerous… and I believe we do have the votes to put it down. That’s going to be a good thing for the country and our security and stability.” The post U.S. Struck Iran Based on Intel on Israel Attack Plans, Officials Say appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Comedy Shows Claim Iran War Is a Distraction From Epstein

The late night comedy shows were largely upset on Monday at combat operations against Iran that began on Saturday. Three of the five hosts tried to argue they were simply a distraction from the Epstein files while the others still managed to offer up some underwhelming criticisms. CBS’s Stephen Colbert declared on The Late Show that, “This military mission has been dubbed Operation Epic Fury… Fun fact: "Epic Fury" is an anagram for ‘Forget Epstein.’” Later, Colbert was discussing Iran’s spastic missile attacks on other Middle Eastern countries when he said: Tragically, six American service members have already died in his war. That sacrifice, and any sacrifices to come, any loss of civilian life, for that matter, deserve, at the very least, clarity from our leaders as to why it is being asked. 'Cause this war is on. And it seems like there could be more of it. Iran has already launched missiles at Israel, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Cyprus, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Jordan, Syria, Kuwait, and Lebanon. My god. That's the entire Trump Board of Peace! But that shouldn't come as a surprise. None of that should come as a surprise. Here's the thing. We know once you start bombing folks, the fighting tends to take on a life of its own.    Stephen Colbert reacts to combat operations in Iran by claiming "Fun Fact: "Epic Fury" is an anagram for "Forget Epstein." As for Iran's spastic missile attacks on other Middle Eastern countries, he says "Iran has already launched missiles at Israel, the UAE, Saudi Arabia,… pic.twitter.com/gdwHSdnlgE — Alex Christy (@alexchristy17) March 3, 2026   At the same time, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel retorted, “Early Saturday morning, just after midnight, the Pentagon launched what they are calling Operation Epic Fury. Which is different from its original title, which was Operation Epstein-o Distract-o.” When discussing the Americans who have been killed so far, Kimmel lamented, “Of course, our supreme misleader launched this attack without getting approval from Congress, which is something regular presidents do all the time. Six Americans were killed in the counter-attacks. Which is terrible. And tragic. And I hope that we show their families how grateful we are for this sacrifice that they made. And of course, yes, and, of course, our president would have gone over there himself were it not for those pesky bone spurs that still haven't healed up.”   Jimmy Kimmel also has an Epstein reference ", the Pentagon launched what they are calling Operation Epic Fury. When discussing Americans who have died, he also quips "our president would have… pic.twitter.com/Z5n603ty2c — Alex Christy (@alexchristy17) March 3, 2026   Kimmel also mocked Trump’s appeal to the Iranian people, “Trump has been, now after the bombing, calling for the Iranian people to rise up to topple the regime, which is the opposite of what he has said he would do. Usually, he only calls for the overthrow of a government when he loses an election. But now, it's different. Immediately, after the attack, the president offered this message of hope and liberation to the people of Iran.” After a clip of Trump asking, “Now, you ready? Can you handle this? Hamburgers for all,” Kimmel quipped, “Oh, I—wait, you know what, that was him at a Whataburger on Friday. That's what he should be invading: fast food restaurants.” Just like his NBC colleagues at Saturday Night Live, Jimmy Fallon also got in on the Epstein narrative when he conducted a fake interview with Trump on The Tonight Show. Fallon wondered, “Well, so far, you've hit nuclear facilities, missile defenses. What do you want to destroy the most?” In response, a clip of Trump showed him saying, “The Epstein files.”   Jimmy Fallon gets in on the Epstein distraction talking point. A clip of Trump simply says "The Epstein Files" pic.twitter.com/qEL5uxpyFD — Alex Christy (@alexchristy17) March 3, 2026   The most immediate reason why Trump decided on military action was Iran trampling all over his red line about not killing protestors. On The Daily Show, Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart played a mashup of clips from Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth that alluded to this, “It took the 47th president, a fighter who always puts America first, to finally draw the line…It takes guts to actually enforce it, and our president has guts…There's no better communicator than our president… He has shown an ability to do that other presidents can't quite seem to have the aperture to do. Stewart’s response was mockery, “You are right. Nobody's got the laser focus of one Donald Trump. Let's go to the president at the White House today giving brief remarks about the war before a Medal of Honor ceremony.”   Jon Stewart, meanwhile, mocks Pete Hegseth for applauding Trump for enforcing his red line "You are right. Nobody's got the laser focus of one Donald Trump." Later, Stewart interviewed Iranian filmmaker and former prisoner Jafar Panahi. The interview focused solely on the regime’s evils, but in the discussion on how the regime cracks down on dissent, he did not mention Trump’s redline. Finally, on NBC’s Late Night, Seth Meyers was another liberal who accused the administration of not having a clear goal. However, Meyers also tried attacking Trump for attempting to explain himself, “After launching yet another illegal war in the Middle East that could destabilize the region and put American troops in harm's way, Trump has been spending his time doing what all presidents do during wars, taking calls from reporters.”   The late night shows, Seth Meyers very much included, lamented that Trump didn't sufficiently make a public case for war beforehand, but Meyers still attacks him for talking to reporters, "After launching yet another illegal war in the Middle East that could destabilize the… pic.twitter.com/U0k8IB8lwH — Alex Christy (@alexchristy17) March 3, 2026   That led into a montage of Fox, CNN, NBC, CBS, and ABC personalities that concluded with ABC’s David Muir recalling, “Rachel [Scott] spoke with President Trump late today. Rachel, he told you that he was with the generals when you were on the phone with him.” Meyers reacted by bringing out his Trump voice, “He was with the generals. So, they were there just sitting around mid-war while he chit chatted. ‘Yeah, I'm at Mar-a-Lago right now. We're looking at some highly classified material. I'm putting you on speaker so you can say hello. Say hello, generals.’ I mean, this is like when I call my mom and she picks up even though she's in the middle of her book club.” This operation began as a result of Trump seeking to enforce his redline on the regime’s murderous crackdown on its own people. What happens after is anyone’s guess, but it was not started to distract from the Epstein files, and Trump talking to reporters about it is not a scandal. Here is a transcript for the March 2-taped shows: CBS The Late Show with Stephen Colbert 3/2/2026 11:37 PM ET STEPHEN COLBERT: We now face an unpredictable and unstable situation that brings me to my long-running segment... [Drumming] NARRATOR: America at whaaa? COLBERT: We haven't run that graphic in six years. I said long-running. Not frequent. This military mission has been dubbed Operation Epic Fury. US service member death toll continues to rise amid Operation Epic Fury

Since the start of the attacks on Iran on Saturday, the United States and Israel have hit Iranian military capabilities hard. 'Major combat operations continue.'On Monday afternoon, CENTCOM wrote: "As of 4 pm ET, March 2, six U.S. service members have been killed in action. U.S. forces recently recovered the remains of two previously unaccounted for service members from a facility that was struck during Iran's initial attacks in the region.""Major combat operations continue. Watch: Bill Clinton defends Trump in Epstein deposition video

Former President Bill Clinton testified under oath that President Donald Trump never indicated any improper involvement with Jeffrey Epstein, according to video released Monday by the House Oversight Committee. In a 4.5-hour deposition Friday in Chappaqua, New York, as part of the committee’s Epstein probe, Clinton went out of his way to defend Trump. Despite no "follow-up question" compelling him to do so, Clinton interrupted the proceedings to note that he did not want to "leave the impression" that Trump ever mentioned to him any involvement "in anything improper with regard to Epstein."Clinton then recalled a conversation with Trump from around 2002 or 2003 at a charity golf tournament at "his golf course" when Trump mentioned his past association with Epstein.'I saw nothing, and I did nothing wrong.'Clinton said Trump told him about Epstein: “You know, we had some great times together over the years, but we fell out all because of a real estate deal.”“The president never ... said anything to me to make me think he was involved with anything improper with regards to Epstein either, he just didn't,” Clinton stated. He later emphasized, “I have no information that he did anything wrong.”RELATED: Iranian state TV hijacked with Trump, Netanyahu message urging citizens to 'seize control' Photo by Chip Somodevilla/Getty ImagesAbout his own associations with Epstein, Clinton declared in his opening statement: “I saw nothing, and I did nothing wrong.” He emphasized he had “no idea of the crimes Epstein was committing” and saw no signs of abuse. The committee released videos of both Bill Clinton's and Hillary Clinton’s depositions on Monday. Republicans highlighted Clinton’s comments on Trump, with Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) calling it an exoneration. Democrats have pushed for Trump to testify as well.Neither the Clintons nor Trump have been formally accused of wrongdoing in Epstein’s crimes.Like Blaze News?
