ESPN Roasts Riley Green For Limping Off After His Dunk During Appearance On ‘The Pat McAfee Show’
Why you gotta do him like that?
Riley Green recently stopped by The Pat McAfee Show, and the visit turned into a full-on display of whether the former Jacksonville State quarterback still has some game left in him.
McAfee welcomed Green with his signature energy, pointing out that Riley walked in with his own “country ass way” and highlighting his football background. The stage was set for some friendly competition.
Later in the interview, the crew decided to put him to the test. They handed Riley a football and set up a challenge: throw it into one of three holes to win $500 for each of 30 people. High stakes, especially for live TV.
But things didn’t exactly go his way. Green immediately pointed out that the footballs felt too flat, and then proceeded to miss every single shot.
The team confronted him about the performance, but Riley laughed it off and stayed in good spirits.
“I get a redemption dunk.”
Green said, before kicking off his boots and getting ready to make something happen.
On his first attempt, he made the dunk… but there was a catch. He didn’t actually touch the rim, which the crew immediately pointed out. Not satisfied, Riley went for it again, this time with the added pressure of everyone expecting another miss.
Instead, he delivered. He went up strong, dunked AGAIN, and grabbed the rim for good measure. The room erupted, and Riley officially got his redemption moment…or did he?
ESPN posted a video of the dunk to their TikTok – and they couldn’t help but notice that Riley appeared to be limping as he walked off:
“30-and-overs know what that walk means”

Tough look.
Of course Riley’s a former athlete himself, having played quarterback for Jacksonville State during his time in college. And people in the comments were quick to come to his defense:
“I ain’t as good as I once was, but I’m as good once as I ever was.”
“lower back is done for like a week”
“I feel this and I’m 22. I play basketball everyday on break at work and this is how I feel everytime I walk off the court”
“After 30 landing gets dangerous”
“All my old heads done hit this walk at one point”
If you want to see it for yourself, you can check out the full interview here. (You can skip to the 34-minute mark to see the basketball showdown).
Hopefully, he’s not too sore from that rim grab because if this appearance proved anything, it’s that Riley Green can do anything. The post ESPN Roasts Riley Green For Limping Off After His Dunk During Appearance On ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
