Theme for 2026 March for Life Revealed

The new president of the March for Life announced that the theme for the 53rd annual march is “Life is a Gift.” On Jan. 23, tens of thousands are expected to gather on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., to march to bring awareness to the hundreds of thousands of abortions that occur in the United States each year and to convince people of the sacredness of human life.   The organization also announced that Grammy-nominated Christian rock band Sanctus Real will perform at a pre-march rally. Friends of Club 21 Choir, a group of young adults from Colorado with Down syndrome, will sing the national anthem. And Sarah Hurm, a mother who began to abort her child using the abortion pill, will give the featured testimony, sharing how she changed her mind and saved her baby with the abortion pill reversal procedure.   Jennie Bradley Lichter, the new president of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund, shared her vision for the 53rd March for Life at a news conference on Tuesday.   “Our goal,” Lichter shared, “is to invite everyone to the irrepressible joy of the March for Life; to be swept up into a movement that transcends politics and celebrates the joy, beauty, and goodness of life itself.”   She emphasized that the theme, Life is a Gift, speaks to the heart: “We want to draw people in by emphasizing what makes the march so powerful: joy, unity and radiant hope of tens of thousands of people coming together.”  For 53 years, pro-life supporters have come together for this event. Lichter believes the march continues to flourish after all these years because “it is rooted in this fundamental conviction that life is a gift. That is a core human truth, and that truth has immense staying power.”   Last year, JD Vance made his first public appearance at the march as the vice president. He joined the rally stage with Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.   The organization shared that while President Donald Trump hasn’t yet made plans to attend this year, he voiced his support for life and the march last year via video. He pledged that in his second term he would “stand proudly for families and for life.”   The group expects to announce more speakers as it gets closer to January.  The March for Life Education and Defense Fund is the organization that powers the public demonstration every year. It operates year-round, organizing small state marches across the country and lobbying for pro-life policies.  The post Theme for 2026 March for Life Revealed appeared first on The Daily Signal.

As the Air Temperature Cools, the Election Heats up in Virginia

Despite Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears’ considerable deficit in campaign contributions (largely due to unending news reports of past polls showing the GOP candidate for Virginia governor trailing by double-digits), the race is now within the margin of error.  Acknowledging that polls are only as accurate as the pollsters’ guess on demographic enthusiasm and the honest responses from those people being called, the most recent Virginia poll shows the same thing as New Jersey’s gubernatorial poll that we reported on last week. In the Garden State, Democrat candidate Mikie Sherrill had lost her 20 percentage point lead and was tied with Republican Jack Ciattarelli.  The Virginia poll, conducted Sept. 26-28, has Democrat gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger still ahead, but by 3%, 48%-45%, against Earle-Sears—within the margin of polling error.   For comparison, in September 2021 during the last Virginia governor’s race, Nexstar/Emerson had former Democrat Gov. Terry McAuliffe ahead 49%-45% against the ultimate winner, Republican Glenn Youngkin. A Monmouth University poll that same month showed similar results, with McAuliffe leading 48%-43%.   Like the New Jersey poll we cited last week, it appears that the pollsters may not be acknowledging the enthusiasm of the “Charlie Kirk voter,” as the polls are showing Spanberger leading among 18- to 44-year-olds with 52% of the vote, compared to Earle-Sears’ 40%.   If the growing enthusiasm on Virginia’s college campuses for Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA brand of conservative political activism is any indicator, that number may be out-of-whack.  >>> Sign up for our Virginia email newsletter More tangible than poll numbers, though, is the hard data showing that more than twice as many Virginians voted in the first week of early voting this month than they did in 2021’s election—146,000 to 2021’s 69,000. And according to the Virginia Public Access Project, the counties with the highest turnout so far have been Republican-leaning red ones.   This race might be a nailbiter all the way until Election Day.  The post As the Air Temperature Cools, the Election Heats up in Virginia appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Brave Browser Surpasses 100 Million Monthly Users

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties, subscribe to Reclaim The Net. The privacy-focused Brave browser has reached a major benchmark, announcing it now serves over 100 million people each month across both desktop and mobile platforms. Founder and CEO Brendan Eich framed the achievement as a shift in user values: “100 million users represent more than a growth milestone, they constitute a movement for a better Web that puts users first,” he stated. “Across the globe, users are choosing privacy and control over their online experience, instead of Big Tech’s tracking and abuse. Every product we’ve launched since our browser—our search engine, our premium products, our ad platform—has been built with privacy protections. As we expand our AI offerings, we will continue to design for privacy-by-default, which will fuel our next wave of growth.” Brave’s browser has carved out a loyal user base by offering strong privacy features without compromising compatibility at a time when privacy is under growing threats. Built on the Chromium engine, it runs the same sites and apps as Chrome but does so while shielding users from invasive tracking. Over the past two years, Brave has seen steady momentum, gaining around 2.5 million new users monthly. In addition to crossing the 100 million monthly active user threshold, the company now records 42 million people using the browser daily. According to Brave, this level of adoption reflects a larger appetite for tools that operate outside the surveillance-driven models of the dominant tech companies. “This growth has been fueled by a global awareness that Brave is an alternative to Big Tech and that users benefit greatly from a browser that preserves their privacy and is up to 3 times faster than competitors,” the company stated. When Apple rolled out the browser choice screen on iOS in the EU earlier this year, part of compliance with the Digital Markets Act, Brave saw its daily installs increase. Beyond the browser, Brave has built an ecosystem centered on privacy. Its search engine, Brave Search, is one of the few truly independent options available in the Western market. Unlike other engines tied to advertising giants, Brave Search processes about 1.6 billion user queries each month, roughly 20 billion annually, and delivers more than 15 million AI-powered answers daily. That AI functionality is expanding. Brave is preparing a new version of its Leo assistant that will include what it calls an “agentic experience.” According to the company, this will be delivered through a locked-down browser profile that prevents the AI from accessing private data in other tabs or windows. “As a privacy company, we pride ourselves on adhering to a stronger variation of Google’s old (and since abandoned) mantra,” the company said. “When we say ‘Can’t be evil,’ we mean we don’t have access to personal user data in the first place.” Brave has also made its Privacy Preserving Product Analytics (P3A) tool publicly accessible, allowing anyone to examine how it handles analytics without compromising user privacy.
