Why Biden’s Cognitive Issues Are Destined for Media Memory Hole

There will be no reckoning among Democrats and their media lapdogs regarding their yearslong effort to hide President Joe Biden’s mental decline. No one will lose their job, precisely because they were doing their job—spinning false narratives to keep the Left in power. And, let there be no doubt, they will keep doing it. The current focus on Biden’s unfitness will last only until Democrats determine whether or not they can force him out. That effort won’t be easy. Biden is an empty suit with a boundless ego. He truly believes he is a modern-day FDR. Withdrawing because you’re not “all there” would be deeply humiliating. If it becomes clear Biden won’t go, the party and its propaganda outlets will quickly pivot. Discussions of his physical and mental capacities will be shoved down the memory hole. His continuing gaffes and incoherence will be largely ignored, cast as boring facts that are already “baked in the cake”: Voters know about his limits so what’s the point of harping on them?  Late night comics, such as Steven Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel, will probably try to make his ramblings kind of lovable—Joe says the darndest things. If Biden bows out, his replacement will be cast as the second coming of well, Jesus Christ, offering a path to salvation for an imperiled land. Whether the candidate is Biden or someone else, the goal will be to make the Democrats’ standard-bearer disappear from the race. When he or she is mentioned at all, it will be to cast the Biden administration’s unpopular record as one of high achievement: Look at all that the president and the Democrats have accomplished for the American people. News coverage, instead, will seek to make the contest about Donald Trump’s fitness for office. Policy differences not involving abortion will be buried in the avalanche of personal attacks. New York Times White House correspondent Peter Baker signaled the pivot last Friday when he wrote: One party has a candidate who is really old and showing it. The other has a candidate who is a convicted felon, adjudicated sexual abuser, business fraudster, and self-described aspiring dictator for a day. And also really old. One party wants to replace its candidate. The other does not. One party has a candidate who is really old and showing it. The other has a candidate who is a convicted felon, adjudicated sexual abuser, business fraudster and self-described aspiring dictator for a day. And also really old. One party wants to replace its candidate. The other…— Peter Baker (@peterbakernyt) July 5, 2024 That same day, PBS “NewsHour” host Amna Nawaz characterized Trump as “an antidemocratic candidate with authoritarian tendencies, who is now newly empowered by that Supreme Court immunity ruling.” With all her signature nuance, MSNBC host Joy Reid succinctly expressed the establishment mindset going forward: “If it’s Biden in a coma, I’m going to vote for Biden in a coma … to keep Hitler out of the White House.” Even as Biden’s behavior suggests Reid is close to getting her wish, the next four months will be filled with flame-fanning screeds about fascism, Christian nationalism, white supremacy, Jan. 6, and dubious felony convictions. Trump’s hyperbole will be cast as despicable lies while the press ignores Biden’s insistence on repeating long-debunked talking points. Note that Biden’s opening line of the debate—probably his most prepared and rehearsed line of the night—contained two whoppers, as he claimed he inherited an economy “in free fall” and that all Trump did in response to COVID-19 was tell people to “inject a little bleach in your arm.” He also repeated the lie that Trump had praised neo-Nazis who marched at Charlottesville, Va.—tellingly, “Meet the Press” host Kristen Welker branded Trump a liar for correcting Biden about this. In fairness, we’ve heard this all before—and Trump is still leading the race. The attacks on him have been so vicious and unhinged for so long that it is easy to overlook the truly astounding fact that the man is still standing. Part of this is due to his remarkable toughness; part is due to the out-of-touch incompetence of his foes. They still don’t see that they have overplayed their hand, offering risible caricatures instead of critiques. Democrats and their propaganda outlets still have power within their own liberal echo chambers, but they can no longer have the trust of the broader public. Most Americans dismiss their bogus narratives, including their long-standing insistence that Biden was at the top of his game. No one can be surprised by his cognitive issues, especially those in government and the media who have observed him up close for years. After interviewing him for a few hours nine months ago, special counsel Robert Hur concluded the president was an “elderly man with a poor memory.” The debate simply forced the media to acknowledge what most Americans could see at a greater distance. It is a sign of the establishment’s cynicism that their only concern is that Biden might not have the capacity to run a winning campaign, not that he is probably unfit to execute the far more demanding and consequential duties of commander in chief. The real mystery going forward: What other tricks do Democrats and the establishment media have up their sleeves to turn things around? Having already thrown the kitchen sink at Trump, it’s hard to imagine that some new narrative about his evil nature will sway undecided voters. Things could get very dark if they double down on lawfare—don’t be surprised if the Biden donor judge in New York sentences Trump to jail in the Stormy Daniels case, or if state courts change how and when people can vote. The pivot is coming, and its intent will be clear; namely, to help the Democrats win by any means necessary. Fortunately, we still live in a democracy, and the people—not the power brokers—will have the final say. Originally published by RealClearWire We publish a variety of perspectives. Heritage Chief’s 3 Possible Solutions to Weaponization of Government

Heritage Chief’s 3 Possible Solutions to Weaponization of Government

Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts offered three key solutions Tuesday to stop the weaponization of government.  “The people who will go into the next conservative administration need to understand what’s at stake and be very well prepared to enact the directive of the executive,” Roberts said before a panel convened by Senate Republicans, after quoting President Ronald Reagan’s assertion that people are policy as the first of the three solutions. Senators and other panelists raised concerns about the multiple federal and state prosecutions of former President Donald Trump. They also said the FBI’s targeting of pro-life activists, Catholics, and parents who speak out at school board meetings had prompted worries about a politicized Justice Department.  “I think I would home in on the FBI,” Roberts said, outlining the second solution to weaponized government.  “There are many agencies in government that are problematic,” Heritage’s president said in singling out the FBI. “That institution, which has many men and women who serve this country virtually and heroically, has been rotten at the top for a long time and Congress does need to assert its proper jurisdiction over the FBI.”  The problem isn’t limited to the Justice Department and the FBI, Roberts added, noting that educating America’s children also has been weaponized. “The third thing is—I would have thought this far afield, but it has become one of the themes because we have talked about it—we have to turn off the federal spigot of dollars to rotten education, actually miseducation,” Robert said. “The best way to do that is to close the U.S. Department of Education.” During the discussion, Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., said public schools have been “ground zero” for the Left’s propaganda.  “Since taking office, President Biden has used taxpayer dollars and resources to attack conservative parents on school boards, Catholics, and pro-life advocates,” Tuberville said. “One of Joe Biden’s policies was to redirect federal law enforcement and counterterrorism resources to go after parents who voiced concern at school board meetings about the propaganda being taught at their schools.” Tuberville continued:  As someone who has spent 40 years in education, I know how important it is, I know how important it is that our students get a quality education. Our young people are our greatest asset, our number one commodity. The Democrats have succeeded in getting woke propaganda pushed in taxpayer funded classrooms.  Public schools in many parts of our country have become ground zero for the Democratic Party. Parents started waking up to what they saw during COVID. ‘What are they teaching our kids?’ So, [Attorney General] Merrick Garland directed the FBI to open an investigation into these parents who spoke up. Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., a former Missouri attorney general, talked about the priorities of local Democrat prosecutors—some elected with the financial backing of progressive billionaire George Soros—as well as the Biden administration. The parallel for each has been a reluctance to prosecute violent crime and an eagerness to target political enemies, Schmitt said.  When Schmitt was Missouri’s attorney general, his office partnered with the DOJ’s Safer Streets Initiative during the Trump administration to cross-deputize his assistant attorneys general as assistant U.S. attorneys. “We prosecuted violent crimes in the federal court system when we could. … Joe Biden comes in and the program is out,” Schmitt said.  The Missouri Republican said his office also participated in Operation Talon, an effort to deport previously convicted sex offenders who were in the United States illegally. Biden shut down the program.  “Of all the things we disagree on, you’d think we could agree on deporting convicted sex offenders here illegally,” Schmitt said.  He then talked about the Democrat-led prosecutions of Trump.  “It’s important to tie this back to Joe Biden. In November of 2022, after the midterm elections, Joe Biden gave a speech and said he was going to use all legal means necessary to prevent Donald Trump from ever being back in the White House,” Schmitt said. “Guess what happened after that? All these zombie cases were resurrected. [Special counsel] Jack Smith, [Manhattan District attorney] Alvin Bragg, [Fulton County District Attorney] Fani Willis, [and New York Attorney General] Letitia James got the green light and did his bidding.” Other participants included Sen. Roger Marschall, R-Kansas; Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah; former acting U.S. Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, and America First Legal Foundation President Stephen Miller, a former Trump White House aide. Lee is a constitutional lawyer and former solicitor general of Utah who has argued before the Supreme Court. A few weeks ago during a visit with heads of state in Central America, Lee said, one brought up the topic of the guilty verdict against Trump on 34 felony counts in the New York “hush money” case. “He said, ‘First of all, we are supposed to be following you. Not you following us. We’ve had things like that in our country before. And now you’re doing it. But it’s supposed to move in the other direction,’” Lee recalled.  The Utah Republican said the Central American leader added: “If we did, right now, what your court system just did to Donald Trump, the United States would be imposing sanctions on us. It would not end well for us.” Whitaker, acting attorney general at the end of the Trump administration, warned that this could be a key moment for America. “This is our ‘If you can keep it’ moment,” Whitaker said, referring to Benjamin Franklin’s storied characterization of the creation of the new American republic. “Every citizen is going to have to demand [an end to political prosecutions], whether they agree politically with Donald Trump or any other figure that the full force of the federal government or state prosecution is being directed against. They need to stand up for the rule of law. We have almost 50% of our country that is unwilling to stand up for the rule of law.”  The post Heritage Chief’s 3 Possible Solutions to Weaponization of Government appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Biden Pledges NATO’s Support for Ukraine in Tuesday Address

Ukraine has NATO’s full support, President Joe Biden said in remarks on the 75th anniversary of NATO on Tuesday evening. The president announced a “historic donation of air defense equipment for Ukraine” at the 2024 NATO Summit in Washington, D.C. “The United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Romania, and Italy will provide Ukraine with equipment for five additional strategic air defense systems in the coming months,” Biden said as Ukraine continues to defend itself against Russia. “[The] United States and our partners intend to provide Ukraine with dozens of additional tactical air defense systems. [The] United States will make sure that when we export critical air defense interceptors, Ukraine goes to the front of the line.” Biden administration officials have said this week’s NATO summit will be a “bridge” to eventual NATO membership for Ukraine. Under Article 5 of NATO’s founding treaty, any member of the alliance, including the U.S., must send troops to defend another NATO member that has been attacked. If Ukraine joined NATO, the U.S. would have to join the country’s war with Russia.  Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to wipe Ukraine off the map, Biden said. “And we know, Putin won’t stop in Ukraine,” Biden said. “But make no mistake, Ukraine can and will stop Putin.” Ukraine had NATO’s “full support” before the Russian attack, Biden said. “Together, we build a global coalition to stand with Ukraine,” he said. “Together, we provide a significant economic and humanitarian assistance, and together, we’ve supplied Ukraine with weapons it needs to defend itself—tanks, armored fighting vehicle[s], air defense system[s], long range missiles, and millions of munitions.” Russia is failing in its war against Ukraine, Biden said. “Kyiv, remember, fellas and ladies, [was] supposed to fall in five days; remember, was still standing, two and a half years later, and will continue to stand,” the president said. “Today, it is still a free country, and the war will end with Ukraine remaining a free and independent country,” Biden said. “Russia will not prevail.” Biden said America has a “sacred obligation” to other countries. “Ladies and gentlemen, this is a pivotal moment for Europe, for the transatlantic community, and—I might add—to the world,” he said. “Let’s remember the fact that NATO remains the bulwark of global security.” The post Biden Pledges NATO’s Support for Ukraine in Tuesday Address appeared first on The Daily Signal.

DNI confirms Iranian operatives give financial support to pro-Hamas groups in the US

Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines released a statement on Tuesday confirming foreign assets from Iran are not only encouraging the ongoing anti-Israel protests within the United States, but they are also providing financial support to keep the movement going.Protests against Israel and the United States have been ongoing since Hamas' attacks in Israel on October 7, 2023. Various groups have been behind the college encampments and street protests that have happened in the months since. Some of them have taken a violent turn, including organized protests ending with attacks on the White House.'In recent weeks, Iranian government actors have sought to opportunistically take advantage of ongoing protests regarding the war in Gaza.'"As I noted in testimony to the Congress in May, Iran is becoming increasingly aggressive in their foreign influence efforts, seeking to stoke discord and undermine confidence in our democratic institutions, as we have seen them do in the past, including in prior election cycles," Haines explained. "They continue to adapt their cyber and influence activities, using social media platforms and issuing threats. It is likely they will continue to rely on their intelligence services in these efforts, as well as Iran-based online influencers, to promote their narratives," she continued. "In recent weeks, Iranian government actors have sought to opportunistically take advantage of ongoing protests regarding the war in Gaza, using a playbook we’ve seen other actors use over the years. We have observed actors tied to Iran’s government posing as activists online, seeking to encourage protests, and even providing financial support to protesters."Haines went on to say that "Americans who participate in protests are, in good faith, expressing their views on the conflict in Gaza – this intelligence does not indicate otherwise," but that they may be unaware of how they are being used by the Iranian regime. The protests are not going away with the summer season. Not only are anti-Israel protests planned for the Republican National Convention and Democratic National Convention, but they are also planned for July 24, when Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is speaking to Congress. Multiple groups have put out the call for their people to surround the Capitol building, with buses being provided to transport people to Washington, D.C., that day. — (@) Like Blaze News? Democrat CIVIL WAR: Mega donors REFUSE to support Biden campaign!

After Biden’s catastrophic debate performance highlighted his clear mental decline and the following disaster of an interview with George Stephanopoulos, some major Democrat donors are getting ready to run for the hills. While Trump has been largely quiet despite the clear train wreck happening before America’s eyes, Sara Gonzales of “Sara Gonzales Unfiltered” knows why. “You never interrupt an enemy when they’re making mistakes,” she says. And Biden is definitely making mistakes. One of the Biden-Harris campaign donors, Netflix’s co-founder and executive chairman Reed Hastings, told ABC News: “Biden is unfortunately in denial about his mental state. He needs to step aside to let a vigorous Democratic leader beat Trump.” Hastings is not alone, with former PayPal CEO Bill Harris — who donated $620,000 to the Biden Victory Fund in 2020 — also telling ABC News that Biden “seemed old” in the interview and will turn off voters. After the debate, Harris founded a political action committee that is pledging $2 million “to fund a series of debates among prominent candidates to become the Democratic nominee for president if Biden steps aside.” While the pleas from donors for the president to step down are everywhere, many are also worried that Vice President Kamala Harris would be up next — and she’s hardly the answer to the Democrats' problem. “There’s literally millions upon millions of dollars that have been donated to the Biden-Harris campaign. The only person that can use that money is, if Joe drops out, is Kamala,” Chad Prather tells Gonzales. “There’s a lot of big donors out there who are saying, ‘Okay, we don’t want Kamala if Joe drops out. You don’t expect us to donate again,’” he continues, adding that “the Democrat party has themselves in quite the conundrum here.” The Democrat Party chose Kamala Harris because she was not only a Democrat but a woman of color. Essentially, she was a DEI hire. “They’ve caught themselves in a catch-22 because they wanted a woman of color. Well, guess what: Now you can’t replace that woman of color with somebody like, say, super-white Gavin Newsom because you built everything on the fact that DEI is where it’s at these days,” Prather says.Want more from Sara Gonzales? To enjoy more of Sara's no-holds-barred take to news and culture, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.
