A trove of public documents revealed that the federal government has kept close tabs on pro- and anti-Israel protests across the country and cited concerns that Yale University was “pro-Hamas.” The documents, obtained and reported on by Bloomberg, reveal that agents with the Federal Protective Service (FPS), a law enforcement agency under the purview of the Department of Homeland Security, closely surveilled the wave of protests that came in the wake of the war between Israel and Hamas, which began after the terrorist organization’s attack on October 7. One October 13 email concerning a pro-Israel demonstration at Yale University cited concerns that the institution is “pro-Hamas.” The email from the FPS investigator explained that he had received a call from a United States Marshal informing him of a pro-Israel rally that was scheduled for the same day. “I checked in with New Haven PD and received the same information and will be on the scene,” his email reads. “The concern is that Yale University is pro Hamas,” the inspector wrote before also adding “at this time there is no credible threat. As more information comes in I will advise.” It is not clear if the FPS inspector was citing his own concerns, those of local authorities, or those of the protesters. The FPS monitored a number of different protests for and against Israel. A series of communications show that federal agents were worried that demonstrations could attract racially motivated violent extremists and become violent. On one occasion, agents warned a Biden administration official of demonstrations set to take place in October from “the same two groups that led to the ~50 arrests (and 500+ not arrested) at the WH yesterday and shutdown several entrances.” “These organizers keep rotating between USG locations, and the missile incident at the Gaza hospital has started inflaming tensions obviously,” the email read. Students at Columbia University occupied a building on the campus and barricaded themselves inside and had to be removed from the premises by the New York Police Department. Protesters also attempted to hold off police who attempted to enter and break up their encampment on the UCLA campus.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts made a huge donation to local schools in the Philadelphia area that will definitely go to benefit thousands of kids. The 25-year-old NFL star donated $200,000 that will go to installing 300 new air conditioning units in schools in Philadelphia by the start of next school year, Good Morning America reported. “I think back to my time as a student, not being able to imagine some of the things that you guys have to go through,” Hurts reportedly said during his visit to one of the area’s schools. “I just want to serve you guys and help in any way I can,” he added. Philadelphia School District Superintendent Dr. Tony B. Watlington Sr. said the donation will help 5,000 students in the area and benefit 10 local schools, the outlet noted. CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — A Jewish university student needed a police escort to enter the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s anti-Israel encampment on Friday. Shabbos Kestenbaum, a student at Harvard Divinity School, spoke at a pro-Israel rally across the street from the encampment hosted by the Israeli American Council before deciding to cross the street and enter the encampment. Kestenbaum walked up to the encampment and was denied entry by a keffiyeh-wearing man blocking the perimeter of the protest. Police eventually agreed to escort him into the encampment, according to video taken by The Daily Wire.  “I want to let all of you know that you’re not going to intimidate Jewish people,” he told the campers. “You can hide behind your masks as long as you want, we will not be scared.” Anti-Israel protester at MIT: "Respectfully, we do not trust your intentions." Police eventually agree to give him an escort. pic.twitter.com/lKeXr829TW — Daily Wire (@realDailyWire) May 3, 2024 “All of you should be ashamed of yourselves,” he added. “This is the state of being Jewish in America, I need police to exercise my First Amendment right.” Kestenbaum is a student at Harvard University, but spoke at the MIT counter-demonstration in support of Jewish students there. “After delivering a speech imploring Jewish students not to be afraid of their antisemitic classmates, I crossed the road to exercise my First Amendment rights and enter the pro-Hamas encampments,” Kestenbaum told The Daily Wire.  “Protestors formed a human chain to keep me out, and initially refused to allow me in even after police asked them to,” he added. “Eventually, I required a personal police escort to walk through the encampment, all the while being followed by pro-Hamas terrorist students.” Kestenbaum, along with other Harvard University students filed a lawsuit against the Ivy League in January, accusing it of selectively enforcing its policies to avoid protecting Jewish students from harassment and enabling anti-Semitism. “Whether it’s Harvard, MIT, Columbia, or anywhere else, antisemitic thugs have taken over college campuses,” Kestenbaum said. “They have no respect for the First Amendment or religious freedom and should be immediately thrown out of any university they currently illegally occupy.” MIT erected fences around the encampment ahead of the pro-Israel rally across the street and had a heavy police presence on Friday afternoon near the encampment. Outside of the encampment, Jewish demonstrators sang songs, and waved American and Israeli flags. Many pro-Israel and pro-America flags were hung on the new fences around the encampment, as well as signs mocking the encampment. One such sign read, “In this camp they believe: Propaganda is truth, resistance is justified, rape is resistance, harassment is free speech, Israelis are not human, martydom is glorious.” Inside the encampment, students had many of their own signs, including labels on tents with locations in Israel including Tzfat, Jaffa, and Haifa. 

Britney Spears posted images of her “twisted ankle” and said “paramedics” showed up following news she was allegedly involved in an altercation at a West Hollywood hotel with her boyfriend. In a post on Thursday on Instagram, the 42-year-old singer shared two clips showing an injury she said she got at the Chateau Marmont on Wednesday night with Paul Soliz, who she has been linked up with following her divorce from Sam Asghari. “I really twisted my ankle last night like an idiot. This is to show proof,” Spears said as she showed in the video her very swollen and bruised foot. “F***ing idiot here tries to do a leap in the living room at the Cheateau, and I fell, embarrassed myself, and that’s it,” she added. She captioned the post calling out her mom Lynne Spears for being involved in what she called “fake” news of the hotel altercation. “I know my mom was involved!” Spears wrote. “I haven’t talked to her in 6 months and she called right after it happened before the news [came] out! I was set up just like she did way back when. … I can’t stand her! I honestly don’t care, I will say it!” News of the injury followed a TMZ report that Spears “got into a huge fight” with her boyfriend Soliz, “and she ended up out of control, crying, possibly cut, and almost driven away in an ambulance.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP At the hotel, “there was some sort of disturbance and someone called police, claiming a woman matching Britney’s description was harassing and threatening hotel employees and guests,” the report said. “Officers showed up shortly after 10:30 PM, but they saw no signs of trouble and left.” The report said that Spears and her boyfriend had escaped back to their hotel room where they continued partying until “they ended up getting into a huge altercation that we’re told turned physical” with a possible injury to Britney’s leg. Different universities are dealing with pro-Hamas demonstrations in different ways. At Chicago’s Northwestern University, the administration negotiated a deal with the protestors. The university agreed to hire two Palestinian faculty members and supply them each with five co-eds as wives, along with two alternate wives to replace any wives who turn out not to be virgins, and then three more alternate wives to replace the other wives who turn out not to be virgins, and then just more and more alternate wives because, after all, these girls are from Northwestern. In return for these concessions, the protestors agreed to leave campus long enough for the university’s Jewish students to make an escape attempt, whereupon the protestors will suddenly come back. Other universities dealt with the demonstrations in ways that were more controversial. For instance, at the University of Florida, the administration called in the police to spray the protestors with tear gas and then mow them down with machine gun bullets, which many felt was a flagrant waste of tear gas. At Columbia University in New York, school president Minouche Shafik hit on a hybrid method of de-escalation after protestors occupied a building, and refused to leave until Israel stopped the genocide so Hamas could murder all the Jews. Ms. Shafik began by begging the protestors to please, please go away so the other students could enjoy their graduation until they realized they had plunged themselves into crippling debt for no reason. When that didn’t work, Ms. Shafik threatened the protestors with suspension, then asked them to please, please forgive her for threatening them with suspension, then said she would never call in the police, then called in the police, then regretted calling the police, then attempted to make amends by offering an all-expenses paid fact-finding trip to Gaza but only to Queers for Palestine since that would save money on return trip tickets. In the aftermath, Columbia has ordered an investigation into the root causes of the disturbances. The investigation will be led by Columbia Professor Mufassa Intifada Jihad who teaches a course on Decolonization in which students are taught how to video themselves committing rape and murder, then how to brag about committing rape and murder, then how to declare they never committed rape and murder, but if they had it would have been justified because hey, that’s Decolonization. WATCH: The Andrew Klavan Show In an interview with the New York Times, a former newspaper, Professor Mufassa Intifada Jihad told Times reporter Jihad Intifada Mohammed, “It’s a mystery why so many students majoring in Critical Jew Hatred should behave in such an unseemly manner. I suspect many of them are actually outside agitators or will be until we offer them faculty positions. Then they can join me in investigating why these protests were handled so badly that many Jewish students were able to get out alive.” The protests are also causing headaches for the White House. President and Venal Houseplant Joe Biden reacted to the unrest by issuing a strong statement to the woman assigned to help him walk without falling over. The statement reads “Throughout my life I have always upheld those moral principles that would keep the money rolling in from the family influence peddling business. And today I stand firmly against antisemitism unless that’s all right now, in which case I’m for it. I condemn Hamas for wanting to commit genocide on the Jews, and I condemn the Jews for fighting back, which is also genocide if that word means something entirely different than it used to mean back in the days when words meant things. In conclusion, I will be sending Vice President Kamala Harris to New York because I just can’t stand that cackling laugh of hers for even another minute. Once she’s there, I will ask her to resolve this unrest just as she helped close the border. Former President Donald Trump said during an interview this week that he no longer supports a two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians following the October 7 massacre. Trump made the remarks during an interview with TIME Magazine while discussing Israel’s military operation against the Hamas terrorist organization. “I’m not sure a two-state solution anymore is gonna work,” Trump said. “Everybody was talking about two states, even when I was there.” “There was a time when I thought two states could work,” he continued. “Now I think two states is going to be very, very tough. I think it’s going to be much tougher to get. I also think you have fewer people that liked the idea. You had a lot of people that liked the idea four years ago. Today, you have far fewer people that like that idea. There may not be another idea.” Trump noted that Palestinian children are taught to hate Israel from the day that they are born, which makes achieving peace nearly impossible. He also made clear that if Iran were to attack Israel, there is no question that he would defend and protect Israel. Trump’s remarks about a Palestinian state come as Israeli leaders have also shut down the idea because of the obvious security risk that it would create for Israel. Actor Ryan Gosling said he’s not taking on certain roles that could affect his family. The 43-year-old Canadian-born actor had previously explored more psychologically complex characters, including roles he played in “The Notebook” (2004), “Blue Valentine” (2010) and “Drive” (2011). But he has a new perspective since becoming a dad. “I don’t really take roles that are going to put me in some kind of dark place,” Gosling told WSJ Magazine during a recently published interview.  “This moment is what I feel like trying to read the room at home and feel like what is going to be best for all of us,” he added. “The decisions I make, I make them with [girlfriend Eva Mendes] and we make them with our family in mind first.” Mendes and Gosling have two daughters – Esmeralda, 9, and Amada, 8. Prosecutors are asking the judge overseeing the trial of the 28-year-old man accused of killing four University of Idaho students to disallow anyone other than the accused from testifying about his alibi. The suspect, who is not being named by The Daily Wire, claims that he regularly drove around at night to look at “the moon and stars,” but that he didn’t commit the murders of Ethan Chapin, 20; Kaylee Goncalves, 21; Xana Kernodle, 20; and Madison Mogen, 21, in the early morning hours of November 13, 2022, in the college town of Moscow, Idaho. In a court filing this week, Latah County Prosecuting Attorney Bill Thompson said that the alibi was too vague and said the defense shouldn’t be allowed to call any witnesses other than the defendant to prove his whereabouts, Fox News reported. “With the exception of the reference to Wawawai Park (which is new), the defendant is offering nothing new to his initial ‘alibi’ that he was simply driving around during the morning hours of November 13, 2022,” Thompson wrote in the new filing. “As the State noted during the August 2023 hearing, the State is aware that the defendant was driving around rural areas of Whitman County, Washington, and Latah County, Idaho, during the early morning hours of November 13, 2022. In fact, the defendant’s travels during that time are described in the original Probable Cause Affidavit supporting the Criminal Complaint in this case,” Thompson added. It took the defense more than a year to file an alibi for the suspect, who said he was simply driving around in the early morning hours when the murders occurred. “[The suspect] was out driving in the early morning hours of Nov. 13, 2022, as he often did to hike and run and/or see the moon and stars. He drove throughout the area south of Pullman, Washington, west of Moscow, Idaho,” Anne Taylor, the suspect’s lead attorney, wrote in a court filing last month. To back this up, the defense plans to call an expert witness “to show that [the suspect’s] mobile device was south of Pullman, Washington and west of Moscow, Idaho on November 13, 2022; that [the suspect’s] mobile device did not travel east on the Moscow-Pullman Highway in the early morning hours of November 13th,” according to the court filing. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP For this reason, the defense claims, the suspect’s car could not be the one seen on video surveillance driving on the Moscow-Pullman highway on the night of the murders. The suspect has been charged with four counts of murder and one count of burglary relating to the killings. Part of the evidence that led to the suspect’s arrest, mentioned in a previously unsealed probable cause affidavit, showed that police were able to narrow the timeframe of the crime to between 4:00 a.m. and 4:25 a.m. and reviewed video footage taken in the area in the time before and after the murders are believed to have occurred. Video showed a white Hyundai Elantra without a front license plate (front license plates are required in Washington and Idaho, but not in Pennsylvania, where the car was registered) in the area between 3:29 a.m. and 4:20 a.m. The vehicle can be seen passing the off-campus residence three times before returning a fourth time around 4:04 a.m. and attempting to turn around on the road. The vehicle was next seen around 4:20 a.m. traveling away from the direction of the off-campus residence at high speed, heading in the direction of a road that eventually leads to Pullman, Washington, where the suspect attended Washington State University (WSU). Video footage from the WSU campus showed a white Hyundai Elantra leaving the area and heading toward Moscow at around 2:53 a.m. At around 5:25 a.m., this vehicle was again observed on five cameras in Pullman and the WSU campus. Police pulled records for white Hyundai Elantras registered at WSU on November 29 – just over two weeks after the murders were committed – and found one belonging to the man who was eventually arrested. Police reviewed the owner’s Washington state driver’s license and determined he matched the suspect’s physical description provided by one of the surviving roommates. Police matched the suspect to the vehicle through two previous traffic stops in the months before the murders. They also learned that the suspect registered his car in Washington and received Washington plates on November 18 – five days after the murders. Police also reviewed cell phone data to show the suspect’s phone did not ping any cellular towers near the crime scene during the relevant timeframe, but an expanded examination of cell phone data showed the phone stopped reporting data to the network at around 2:47 a.m. At that time, the white Elantra was leaving Pullman and heading toward Moscow. The phone next pinged at 4:48 a.m. in an area south of Moscow, heading back to Pullman. Cell records also showed that the suspect left his home in Pullman around 9:00 a.m. on November 13 and traveled back to Moscow. Cell records dating back to June 2022 showed the suspect’s phone was in the crime scene area on at least 12 occasions before the murders – all but one in the late evening or early morning hours.
