Clever Cat Approaches People Who Let Her in, Shortly After She Brings Kittens into World, Safe from the Cold

A clever cat went up to kind people who let her in. Shortly after, she brought kittens into the world, safe from the freezing cold. BelindaAbout a month ago, a sweet cat wandered up to a family, seeking refuge from the freezing temperatures.Seeing that she was heavily pregnant, the finders sprang into action to help her. After enduring roughly 60 days in the cold while pregnant, the cat finally found warmth, safety, and plenty of food indoors.Shortly after, they walked in to find five little ones nestled comfortably with her. WynterBelindaA few days later, the finders brought the feline family to IndyHumane (an animal rescue), hoping to give them the best chance at thriving."When I brought her home, the kittens were about five days old. Wynter (the mom cat) was very friendly but protective of her babies," Belinda, a foster volunteer with IndyHumane, shared with Love Meow. BelindaBelinda prepared a cozy area with various nesting options for Wynter to choose from."It took her about a week to become comfortable and realize she and the babies were warm and safe. I had a playpen and a box set up for her, but she decided to move them into a cat tree." Belinda"She just wanted to hide them, but it was too high up, and there was no room for her to stay in it without them falling out."Belinda rearranged the room to ensure there were no unsafe places for Wynter to hide her kittens. Among the litter of two girls and three boys, Slick (house panther) was the largest, while Olaf (gray tabby) was the smallest. BelindaWynter finally settled into the box. She rarely left her kittens, carefully tending to their every whim.Once their eyes were wide open, the kittens began rolling and waddling around, building strength in their legs. With growing curiosity and a fearless attitude, some even attempted to venture out of the nest. Belinda"The kittens are now three weeks old and still sleeping in the box. I have arranged it so they are able to move in and out of the box. Wynter is finally comfortable with her living quarters."Wynter is doing a great job raising her demanding litter, but she would rather spend all day on her foster mom's lap if she could. BelindaWhenever Belinda enters the room, Wynter eagerly looks over for attention but stays with her kittens, committed to her motherly duties. In a few weeks, the kittens will move beyond the nest, honing their feline skills and tearing around the room in playful bursts. By then, Wynter can take a well-deserved break and focus more on herself. BelindaRaising five kittens is no easy feat, but fortunately, this will be her last litter. For a while, it was touch and go as they struggled to gain weight. But with daily weigh-ins and a dedicated foster mom caring for them, they were soon back on track. Before the kittens are weaned, Wynter spends her days keeping them well-fed and spotless from head to tail. Belinda"She is a good mama, but I can tell she is ready to be done. Only a couple more weeks."When Wynter wandered to the family who took her in, she won their hearts with her sweet and affectionate nature. "She already has a potential adopter, the wonderful family who let her give birth in a warm place when it was freezing cold." BelindaWith their newfound energy, the kittens are growing more active and mischievous, keeping their mom on her toes. Slick has just joined the one-pound club, making everyone proud. Conservative Leaders Demand Accountability After Salt Lake Tribune Smears Data Republican

Conservative Leaders Demand Accountability After Salt Lake Tribune Smears Data Republican

Conservative leaders rallied Thursday against a smear campaign brought on last weekend by The Salt Lake Tribune against data guru, X influencer, and Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) ally DataRepublican, having eagerly made public the identity and occupation of her husband — a private citizen. The Tribune’s smear came on the heels of a larger targeting concocted by Rolling Stone aimed at revealing her real name — Jennica Pounds — along with her background and home as a proud Utahan and former tech worker.  In the letter, over two dozen conservative leaders blasted The Tribune’s work as a “gratuitous and outrageous attack” on Pounds and her husband, “portray[ing] her as the real mastermind behind DOGE’s cuts.” The signatories went onto demand the paper and all other smear merchants “ease their act of personal destruction” and return to “journalistic standards or be investigated for various IRS and consumer protection violations.”  You can read the full letter below: The difference between journalism and politics used to be one was about informing the public and the other was about persuading the public. Legacy media abandoned this distinction long ago. The latest example was the Salt Lake Tribune’s gratuitous and outrageous attack against one of the finest residents of that city: Jennica Pounds. Pounds became the focal point for The Tribune’s ire because of her crucial work for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Being an average American lacking the clout and means of Elon Musk, Pounds found herself on the receiving end of a targeted campaign which resulted in the doxxing of her husband and his small local distillery. Since The Tribune portrayed her as the real mastermind behind DOGE’s cuts, the paper might as well have put up a big flashing sign outside the distillery that read: “Send your hate here.” The Tribune’s so-called “reporting” was disgusting, violative of basic journalistic integrity and designed to punish those who do not cling to the leftist narrative that paper spews on a daily basis to its readers. It came at a time when President Trump, Justice Brett Kavanaugh, and other Republican candidates have had attempts on their lives. But unlike most, they have protective details. Leftists have adopted a “whole of society approach” to their radical agenda. The sharp end of their weapon is the legacy media that wield their power with ferocity, targeting enemies like a guided missile. We, the undersigned, condemn The Salt Lake Tribune. We call on it and other print outlets to cease their act of personal destruction. They can either voluntarily come back into compliance with journalistic standards or be investigated for various IRS and consumer protection violations. 'October 8' exposes rise of anti-Jewish hate on college campuses

Wendy Sachs wasn’t shocked to see Hollywood ignore the anti-Semitism spike in the wake of the Oct. 7 attacks. The author and filmmaker learned firsthand how the industry recoiled at that bitter truth.'It’s not a political film. ... This is truly about how anti-Semitism has mutated over time. It’s about Islamic extremism vs. democracy.'Sachs, whose previous films include the feminist political documentary “Surge,” pitched agencies on a film capturing anti-Jewish hate over the last year-plus.“Everyone passed,” Sachs told Align. “There’s an allergic reaction in Hollywood to this kind of film. Anything adjacent to Israel or Jews, unless it’s anti-Israel or an attack on the Israeli government ... anything at all sympathetic to Oct. 7 is radioactive.”No other viewpointCase in point: The pro-Palestinian film “No Other Land” won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature Film earlier this month. The indie film scene is no better, Sachs claims.“It’s absolutely nuclear when it comes to any kind of sympathy for Oct. 7,” Sachs says. She told herself she’d never make another independent film again, knowing how arduous that process can be.Sachs saw video of pro-Palestinian protesters celebrating Hamas and the terror attacks and had a change of heart. When 31 student groups at Harvard University blamed the assault on Israel, not Hamas, she “felt like the world had lost its mind.”“We had never experienced anything like this before, a modern-day Kristallnacht,” says Sachs, recalling the Nazis' brazen attack on Jewish neighborhoods in November 1938.Sachs’ “October 8,” opening nationwide tomorrow, shows how swiftly the anti-Israel protests erupted following Hamas’ terror attack that killed 1,200 citizens and took 251 hostages. The title, sadly, says it all.The donor-funded “October 8” features Jewish student leaders, who were harassed and hunted in the weeks following the attacks. We also see endless protests that quickly turned violent and a stunning silence from human rights groups. We also meet two exceptions to the Hollywood rule regarding anti-Semitism.'Completely betrayed'“I felt completely betrayed by Hollywood,” “Will & Grace” alum Debra Messing, an executive producer on the film, says in the documentary. Actor and comedian Michael Rapaport weighs in, too.“Hollywood celebrities speak out about so many differing things ... you should be ashamed of yourself for not saying anything about the [Israeli] hostages,” Rapaport shares mid-film.Stars like Messing, Rapaport, Patricia Heaton, and John Ondrasik are the rare celebrities to speak out on these matters. Sachs thinks she knows why an industry addicted to addressing societal ills has gone virtually silent on anti-Semitism.“People are afraid their careers will take a hit. They don’t want to be canceled or lose work over this,” she says. “The risk they feel is too great.”The documentary could have taken a partisan slant. Consider how the Biden administration did little to confront anti-Jewish hate flowering nationwide.Sachs took a different path.Entrenched bias“It’s not a political film. ... This is truly about how anti-Semitism has mutated over time,” she says. “It’s about Islamic extremism vs. democracy.”The documentary explores the media’s entrenched, anti-Israel’s bias, perfectly captured by the New York Times. The Gray Lady rushed to blame Israel for a 2023 Gaza hospital bombing, taking Hamas’ word in the process.“The New York Times, NPR, and the BBC ... criticize Israel in a way they don’t with any other country,” says Sachs, a self-described New York Times’ subscriber since her college days. The hospital incident highlights “how much rot there is the media,” she adds.Sachs has shown her film at several college campuses, screenings that required more than just the usual audio/video gear.“I don’t think other films have to worry about security,” she says of the heavy police presence required to screen “October 8” on campuses.'We can't do it alone'Sachs’ film may strain for an apolitical spirit, but she approved of the Trump administration’s recent crackdown on Columbia University for failing to protect Jewish students.“If it were any other group like African American students being harassed or targeted ... there would be outrage, and there would be action,” she says.Sachs sees some hope moving forward, including the brave Jewish students highlighted in the film, who fought back against the hate.“The Jewish community is not alone ... we worked hand in hand with the African-American community in the past,” she says. “We need to do it again.”Other groups can help, as well.“The Iranian and Persian communities really understand what extremism looks like,” she adds. “[Jews are] the minority of the minority here in America, less than 3% of the population. We can’t do it alone.”
