But for a teen in Spearfish, South Dakota, one particularly unique endeavor earned her a college scholarship! Victoria Schoenherr has had her sights set on the University of Northern Colorado for some time. But let’s face it: Getting a degree is ridiculously expensive. That’s why she was on the hunt for fashion and design scholarships. In the end, there was one that especially stood out the most: Duck Tape’s Stuck at Prom Scholarship contest. To win, folks were tasked to create stunning dresses made from, you guessed it, duct tape. If this sounds like a challenge, you’d be correct — but Victoria was more than willing to give it her best shot. And it’s a good thing she did! Not only did she manage to make a stunning dress, but she also won! YouTube Creating this dress was no small feat. Despite her busy schedule with school, prom, and costume designing for a production of Guys and Dolls, Victoria somehow found 160 hours to create this masterpiece. In the end, she used 80 rolls of Duct tape.
