Former officer convicted in George Floyd's death released from prison

One of the four former Minneapolis police officers who were convicted in connection with the death of George Floyd has been released from prison. On Wednesday, J. Alexander Kueng, 31, walked out of FCI Elkton a free man. FCI Elkton is a low-security federal prison in Lisbon, Ohio.In October 2022, Kueng pled guilty to aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter for his alleged role in the death of Floyd. Kueng was then sentenced to three and a half years in prison, a term that he has now officially served.Like the other former officers imprisoned for the Floyd incident — Derek Chauvin, Thomas Lane, and Tou Thao — Kueng was also convicted in federal court of depriving Floyd of his civil rights. Kueng was sentenced to three years in the federal case.Kueng was allowed to serve his state and federal sentences concurrently.'There were no medical findings that showed any injury to the vital structures of Mr. Floyd's neck. There were no medical indications of asphyxia or strangulation.'On May 25, 2020, the officers arrested Floyd after he was accused of using a counterfeit bill. Bodycam and other footage showed that Floyd was behaving erratically, and the officers attempted to restrain him during the arrest.Chauvin infamously knelt on what appeared to be Floyd's neck for more than nine minutes. Kueng knelt on Floyd's back, while Lane restrained his legs. Floyd later died.Lane was the first of the former officers to be released following the completion of his sentence. He left prison in August.Thao, who was also convicted of aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter for keeping bystanders at bay, will be released in November.Chauvin was convicted of second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter. He has been sentenced to spend more than two decades behind bars.In November 2023, Chauvin was violently stabbed nearly two dozen times by a fellow inmate and required "lifesaving measures." He was released from the hospital a few days later. The suspect in the stabbing, John Turscak, is reportedly a former FBI informant.Despite those convictions, questions remain about whether Floyd was actually murdered. A little over a year ago, Tucker Carlson called the narrative about Floyd's death a "lie." Carlson quoted a deposition from former Hennepin County prosecutor Amy Sweasy, who claimed the medical examiner told her "that there were no medical findings that showed any injury to the vital structures of Mr. Floyd's neck. There were no medical indications of asphyxia or strangulation."Citing toxicology reports she had seen, Sweasy also testified that at the time of his death, Floyd had COVID, severe heart disease, and a "fatal level of fentanyl" as well as methamphetamine in his bloodstream.Like Blaze News? Border Patrol operation leads to arrest of over 70 illegal aliens with criminal records

The United States Border Patrol conducted a multi-day operation in Bakersfield, California, that resulted in the arrests of at least 78 illegal aliens.According to the agency, all of the arrested individuals have criminal histories.'Massive citizen support.'The crackdown, dubbed Operation Return to Sender, deployed 60 Border Patrol agents in marked and unmarked vehicles. The officers focused their efforts on detaining alleged drug and human traffickers. The arrested individuals were previously convicted of a variety of crimes, including sex offenses, drug possession, driving under the influence, and child and spousal abuse. The Border Patrol stated, "Border Patrol Agents with the El Centro Sector Border Patrol conducted an operation in and around the Bakersfield area in Kern County. Our operation focused on interdicting those who have broken U.S. federal law, trafficking of dangerous substances, non-citizen criminals, and disrupting the transportation routes used by Transnational Criminal Organizations."The American Civil Liberties Union has disputed the Border Patrol's arrest count, claiming the agency detained more than 190 people, who were primarily Mexican nationals.Gregory Bovino, the Border Patrol's chief patrol agent for the El Centro Sector, posted a series of updates on X about Operation Return to Sender."During Operation #ReturntoSender in #Bakersfield CA, Agents from the #PremierSector arrested a Chinese national who was unlawfully in the US. He is suspected of defrauding a person in the US suffering from #dementia to the tune of $70K," Bovino wrote."Looks like this undocumented criminal's plan backfired!! During Operation Return to Sender, agents from the #PremierSector wrangled up a felon in #KernCounty who had a weapons charge warrant out of Tulare County. Locked and loaded-justice is served!" he stated in a separate post.Bovino noted that Border Patrol agents in Bakersfield "received massive citizen support" for the recent arrests, citing a local news poll that showed 93% of respondents said illegal immigrants with criminal records should be "deported immediately." Only 35% of those surveyed stated they were "nervous about the recent Border Patrol arrests."While the poll indicated strong community support, some local news outlets portrayed the mass arrests of illegal aliens with criminal records as a significant setback for the community.KABC-TV reported that Border Patrol's recent actions left "undocumented migrants" on edge. The news outlet spoke to a farmworker who stated that some individuals were no longer showing up for work because they feared being arrested."I've never seen people not go to work before. This is the first time that I've seen people going to those lengths," Xochitl Nunez told KABC."I have a son in the military. I have a son who's an electrician. I have a daughter in college. I am a farm worker and I'm proud. I hurt my hand working in the field. But even like this, we still go to work. It's not right that we're living in this fear," Nunez said. The news report also claimed that the arrests impacted the trucking industry, and some parents have opted not to take their children to school. The Border Patrol has stated that it plans to conduct similar operations in Fresno and Sacramento, KTXL reported.Like Blaze News? Female veteran says Pete Hegseth is RIGHT about women in the military

Air Force veteran Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) knows a thing or two about women in the military — and now she’s clearing up one of the Democrats' biggest lies about Trump’s pick for defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, during his confirmation hearing. “Pete never said that he didn't want women to serve in the military. In fact, it’s quite the opposite,” Luna tells Glenn Beck of “The Glenn Beck Program.” However, Luna believes that “there are certain roles that women should not be subjected to in the military.” “I preface this by saying that when women were placed in harm’s way, that the natural instinct for men was to protect that woman. And that’s quote-unquote ‘toxic masculinity’ that the left tries to attack us with all the time,” Luna says. “That is human nature. We are born with that,” Glenn agrees. “When you have, though, a woman that’s, let's say, placed on a special forces team, they come under fire, hypothetically that woman gets hurt, instead of focusing on the mission, as it would be if there were just other men present, the men would then in turn go to protect that woman, and it could ultimately result in more casualties,” Luna explains, adding, “and then also jeopardize the success of the mission.” “That’s what Pete was saying, but you know, it’s very easy, because Pete is a white male, for them to try to demonize him and paint him as this anti-woman, you know, alcoholic womanizer, which is simply not the case,” she continues. Glenn couldn’t agree more. “I have no problem with women in the military, with the exception of the natural order of things,” Glenn says. “I have to tell you, if one of the guys was captured by, you know, al-Qaeda, I would do everything I can to make sure that one of the members of my team were safe.” “It’s different if I know that the woman member of our team has just been captured. It takes on a different meaning to me, because I know what’s going to happen to her in comparison to Tom or Tim, and I think that is a natural instinct,” he adds.
