At least 36 new tech unicorns were minted in 2025 so far

With AI igniting an investor frenzy, every month, more startups obtain unicorn status. Using data from Crunchbase and PitchBook, TechCrunch tracked down the VC-backed startups that became unicorns so far this year. While most are AI-related, a surprising number are focused in other industries like satellite space companies like Loft Orbital and blockchain-based trading site […]

Ella Langley Says Riley Green Texted Her After The Viral Wink To Fan’s Sign: “Not The Sweetest Thing I’ve Seen”

The wink heard around the world. There have been many viral moments throughout this never-ending saga of Ella Langley and Riley Green‘s alleged romance, but this recent moment made fans feel like their relationship status was solidified as definitely not together. I mean, I think there have been many moments that have screamed they are not together, like when both of the artists explicitly said so. I mean, shouldn’t that be enough? Especially in today’s entertainment world where you can probably sell more tickets by actually having a love story. Riley Green even acknowledged that fans want to believe in the “You Look Like You Love Me,” love story, similar to what Faith Hill and Tim McGraw or George Jones and Tammy Wynette had over the years. So why would they hide or deny it? He explained: “Yeah, I mean, Ella’s probably too smart to date me anyway. But I think that’s kind of the country music fan, like, they love the Tim McGraw and Faith, and the George and Tammy. And when we first started having the success we did with that song, I kinda told Ella, I was like, ‘There’s gonna be a lot of things said, but I mean, you don’t really have to play into it or not play into it, it’s gonna be something people enjoy the same way we do when we go listen to those songs.’” However, that did not stop fans from becoming thoroughly convinced that they were romantically involved. The rumor mill began swirling and has kept swirling, with some fans believing he’s two-timing Megan Moroney and Ella Langley. That narrative took off after a show in Wilmington, North Carolina, when Ella reacted to a fan’s sign that read: “Wink if Riley’s a dumb***.” Ella looked straight at it and gave it an overexaggerated wink, along with a little smirk while reading it: @desevegrace What we have all been wondering @Ella Langley #fyp #rileygreen #ellalangley ♬ original sound – desevegrace The comments section blew up on the post with users feeling like it confirmed their suspicions about the state of the relationship between Riley and Ella. “TEEEEEEAAAAA. We all knew it. God bless her. Imagine choosing Megan over this queen. EMBARRASSING.” “This is fr the only hard evidence we have on this rumor and it’s now 100% confirmed.” “She smiled as she was reading it.” “Didn’t even break stride, Queen behavior.” After we reported on this at Whiskey Riff, Riley Green and Ella Langley commented on our Instagram post, making some comical remarks about what the wink actually meant. “Bro, my bangs were totally in my eye.” Ella Langley wrote. Riley Green also commented: “She must have thought it said ‘wink if Riley is a great dancer.’” Of course, if you know anything about Ella at all, she’s very funny, pretty sarcastic, and never afraid to talk a little smack with the boys… you know, like her good friend Riley Green. Just imagine you’re a singer on stage and you saw a sign like that in the crowd about one of your good friends, collaborators and tourmates, of course you’re gonna give a funny answer. And that’s exactly what that was… While talking to Elaina Smith with Backstage Country, Ella Langley cleared up her response to the fan’s sign in North Carolina, raising her hand and saying that she was “excited to talk about this.” “Let me tell you, the next day he texted me that video. He said, ‘Not the sweetest thing I’ve seen.’ I was like, okay, hear me out. This might not be believable to you, which he knows me, so I’m kind of a jokester. I tend to live on the dark side of humor, so whenever I answered that, I was just answering it as myself and not like as ‘Ella Langley.’ And I was just kind of answering the joke. Like, obviously it’s a very dramatic wink, and right when it happened, I saw all the phones up there and I was like “Oh my god, that’s going to be taken out of context and I’m going to get ripped a new one.’ I texted and I was like, ‘Hey, look, I would see that as playful and endearing personally.’ And I saw a lot of women on there saying that they’d say that about their husband, so I was like ‘See, it’s not that bad.'” HA! I mean, he’s not wrong… It’s amusing to see that they are discussing how the online rumors are being perceived. I’ve said it before, and I’ll scream it from the mountain tops, it’s time that we stay out of their personal lives, and honestly, not be so gullible about her jokes. This interview clip certainly suggests that the two are having fun, feeding into the rumor, and share a good sense of humor, and I for one, am here to see this comical side of Ella Langley. @elainadsmith @Ella Langley is with me all week on @Backstage Country and she’s got a lot to say!! #ellalangley #countrymusic #rileygreen ♬ you look like you love me – Ella Langley & Riley Green The post Ella Langley Says Riley Green Texted Her After The Viral Wink To Fan’s Sign: “Not The Sweetest Thing I’ve Seen” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.

Carrie Underwood’s Incredible Rendition Of Ozzy Osbourne’s “Mama, I’m Coming Home” Is Going Viral Following His Final Live Performance Ever

Crushed it. Over the weekend, Ozzy Osbourne reunited with the original members of Black Sabbath for the first time in two decades for his final show in Birmingham, England. He had tons of special guests from the rock world also perform, and of course he came out in a bat chair… but the iconic rocker was seated throughout the show, as he revealed back in 2020 that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. He told fans before playing their final song that their support has meant the world to him, and he thanked them from the bottom of his heart for everything, and he was joined onstage alongside original Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler, drummer Bill Ward and guitarist Tony Iommi: “Your support over the years has made it all possible for us to live the lifestyle we live. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you. We love you.” It was a very different side of the man who has been known more as a larger-than-life character who has lived extremely hard and embodied that sex, drugs and rock and roll lifestyle. But possibly the most emotional moment was when he delivered an extremely emotional rendition of “Mama I’m Coming Home,” which was inspired by his longtime wife, Sharon. The footage might even bring a tear to your eye, and the top comment on the viral video of it sums it up best: “They should release this version, this is how it was meant to be heard, with the weight of a life lived full behind it.” He has built quite a legacy for himself, but it’s really neat to see the very human side of someone who was rarely seen that way in the public eye: @matheusmelosil #ozzyosbourne #backtothebeginning #blacksabbath #rocknroll #fyp #fyppp #foryoupage #villapark #lasttime ♬ som original – Good Vibe Rock | Matheus Melo And one of country music’s most popular ladies, Carrie Underwood, is actually a huge fan of Ozzy and Black Sabbath, and she appeared on Sirius XM’s Howard Stern Show a couple years ago and performed a gorgeous rendition of “Mama I’m Coming Home.” Of course, the power ballad was included on Osbourne’s 1991 sixth studio album No More Tears, and it remains his only solo Top 40 single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at #28. In terms of his larger catalog, it stands out for how different it sounds and how deeply emotional it is, and Carrie told Stern that she asked permission from Sharon and Ozzy before first recording it for her as a cover for Apple Music Sessions feature in 2022: “We had asked, because anytime I’m going to cover somebody, I want their blessing. I would never want somebody  to be like, ‘Man, I don’t like her. So, no.’ And it’s worse if you sing the song and then somebody asks them about that and they’re like, ‘What was that?’ So I just want to be respectful, and we had asked permission and Sharon was very sweet about it.” That’s the smart way to do it, especially when it comes to an artist as iconic as Ozzy, and because of his final performance happening this weekend, several videos of Carrie’s cover have gone viral on TikTok, where I’ve seen several videos of her singing it over the last couple days, and for good reason. Country fans know that she is an incredible vocalist with a deep love for rock and metal, and she has impressed many times with renditions of songs like “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “Ace of Spades” and of course, this classic… she absolutely blew the roof off, and Stern seemed surprised at the end at how good he thought it was. I think many are surprised when Carrie lets it rip like this on a song that’s completely unexpected, but she doesn’t miss, and it’s just so impressive the way she can sing any genre and do it so well. I can’t get enough: @dansali13 Carrie Underwood Covers Ozzy Osbourne’s ” Mama I’m Coming Home ” #fypシ #fyp #foryou #ozzyosbourne #carrieunderwood #station13music #livemusic #lemme #howardstern #howardsternshow ♬ original sound – Station 13 Here’s another performance of it from 2023: “Mama, I’m Coming Home” The post Carrie Underwood’s Incredible Rendition Of Ozzy Osbourne’s “Mama, I’m Coming Home” Is Going Viral Following His Final Live Performance Ever first appeared on Whiskey Riff.

Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation Launches Fundraiser To Help Animals Impacted By Texas Floods

Helping her home state. Over the Fourth of July weekend, torrential flooding affected the Central Texas Hill Country and parts of South Texas. The Guadalupe River rose more than 20 feet in an hour and a half. The flash flood swept through an area filled with summer camps and small towns about 70 miles west of San Antonio. One of the camps seriously impacted by the floods was Camp Mystic, a Christian girls’ camp. Cabins on the grounds were swept up in the flood, a number of young girls were tragically killed in the floodwaters, as well as Dick Eastland, longtime owner and director of Camp Mystic, who gave his life to try and save campers. At the time of writing, there have been over 80 deaths confirmed, with more than two dozen of those deaths including campers and counselors from Camp Mystic. Update from Kerr County Sheriff’s Office: Additional increase in the Guadalupe River & Johnson Creek is expected. Camp Mystic still missing: 10 girls, 1 camp counselor. 68 confirmed not to have made it: 40 adults & 28 children. Pending identification: 18 adults, 10 children. pic.twitter.com/iAzVE974PZ — Southern FFA Family (@FFAFamily) July 6, 2025 Heartbreaking does not even begin to describe the loss these communities are suffering. In times of tragedy, the country music community comes together to support those in need. We saw it during Hurricane Helene, and we are seeing it again here with many Texas artists stepping up to show their support. Many people, including Josh Abbott Band, Randy Rogers Band, and Kacey Musgraves, among others, have spoken out. The Texas legend Robert Earl Keen announced that he will be hosting a benefit show to raise money for Kerr County, and he also announced that all proceeds from merchandise sales on his current tour will be donated to relief funds. The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country has established the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund to support local response, relief, and recovery efforts following the devastating July 4th flood. You can access the Fund here: https://t.co/fSsOpJj2hq pic.twitter.com/uyYMBazwaX — Robert Earl Keen (@robertearlkeen) July 5, 2025 Additionally, Wild West Fest has announced an acoustic relief show, scheduled for July 11th, featuring Kat Hasty, Sterling Elza, and more. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Wild West Fest (@wildwestfest_) While many artists are stepping up to help those in need, Miranda Lambert is also showing support for animals in need. “Hey y’all, I just want to jump on here and say how devastated we are to hear about the floods in South and Central Texas. I can’t even come up with any words for the loss that everybody’s suffering. MuttNation Foundation is working really closely with Kerrville Pets Alive as we speak to try and get more info and figure out where the needs are to support the pet community and pet owners in this disaster.  We will have more info as it goes, but I will post what I know to post right now. So y’all join with us and try to help out as much as you can, and keep sending prayers, and I’ll keep you posted.” Lambert and the MuttNation Foundation launched a fundraiser, which will be donated to various shelters and pet rescue organizations in the area, and have raised close to $15,000 thus far. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Miranda Lambert (@mirandalambert) Lambert and MuttNation also shared resources to help animals impacted by the Hill Country floods, including where to donate or drop off food, as well as local organizations seeking volunteers. “Thank you to everyone who has joined us in supporting Texas. Here are some ways to continue helping.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation (@muttnation) I would not be surprised if we see some large donations from the country music community in the days to come, as more needs are identified. The flooding is beyond heartbreaking, and it’s always amazing to see Miranda Lambert and MuttNation springing into action to help the four-legged members of the community. She’s always got the backs of all the good boys and girls in this world. As rescue efforts are still underway, our hearts are with the families missing loved ones or who have lost loved ones. The post Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation Launches Fundraiser To Help Animals Impacted By Texas Floods first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
