White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt dismantled a narrative that President Donald Trump is targeting blue states in his quest to get crime under control nationwide. When a reporter asked Leavitt if Trump will work with GOP-led states to tackle crime, the press secretary said the premise of the question reflects a false mainstream narrative. “Yes, there is crime in red states. Of course, there is crime in all states, but the crime in these cities is all in cities that are run by Democrats. If you look at the list of the top 20 high-crime cities in the United States, every single one, with the exception of one in Louisiana, is run by a Democrat.” These Democrat leaders, Leavitt continued, have supported soft-on-crime policies, including cashless bail, which is when suspects do not have to pay any bail to be released from jail while awaiting trial. Highlighting Jackson, Mississippi — a blue city in a red state, Leavitt noted the city “eliminated cash bail for virtually all misdemeanor cases.” The city also acts like a de facto sanctuary jurisdiction. For example, the top-five most violent cities in the U.S., based on the violent crime rate per 100,000 residents, are Memphis, Detroit, Baltimore, Houston, and Nashville. CNN Anchor John Berman found himself playing defense while his guest, Rep. Dave Min (D-CA), flirted with defaming President Donald Trump in connection to the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Berman invited Min to join Tuesday’s broadcast of “CNN Central,” where they began with a discussion on the most recent revelations coming from the trove of Epstein-related documents released by the House Oversight Committee. As they were talking, however, Min repeatedly pushed the idea that Trump was likely guilty of wrongdoing connected to Epstein’s criminal history. Also, no reason to think he’s connected to any wrongdoing involving Jeffrey Epstein,” Berman cautioned. “You noted, you’re a prosecutor, you are a lawyer here. There’s this defamation —” “I would say we have lots of reasons to think he was involved in wrongdoing,” Min ignored the warning and charged ahead. “I mean, at this point, there’s a lot of smoke. There may be some fire, but I would just push back and say I think there’s a lot reason to think Donald Trump was involved.” “Involved with what? I’m sorry what exactly, what proof do you have that he was involved with wrongdoing in regards to Jeffrey Epstein?” Berman asked. “And if that’s the case where – why have there been no prosecutions over 20 years here? Because there haven’t really been any allegations that he was involved with the wrongdoing.” Min was insistent: “There are a lot of connections where Donald Trump was named, right? We had a 14-year-old claiming that she was raped by him, then withdrew that claim after she was apparently threatened. His name appears a lot. And again, we, at this point, our job is to find justice for these survivors, and that means that we need to continue digging, knowing that there is a cover-up taking place right now.” Dialing back slightly, Min continued, “And I didn’t say that we have proof. At this point, we have, like, a lot a smoke. But Donald Trump’s name is clearly mentioned multiple times. We’ve seen him lie over and over about things that we now know to be true. So again, I think that we, as the Oversight Committee, deserve, we owe an obligation to the girls, the American people out there, to keep digging and find out the truth, whoever’s involved.” Berman tried once more to get Min to tap the brakes: “Again, Donald Trump has not been named in any connection or charged with any wrongdoing there. Ghislaine Maxwell, take this for what it is, but Ghislaine Maxwell said she never saw Donald Trump, or anyone for that matter, engage in any wrongdoing connected to Jeffrey Epstein.” “I will just point out that Ghislaine Maxwell was indicted for perjury after she made that statement that you mentioned, transferred to minimum security prison in Texas, so again …” Min protested.

After scrapping their logo redesign due to public outcry, Cracker Barrel is now also backtracking on their planned restaurant renovations, too. The company made the announcement via social media. “You’ve shared your voices in recent weeks not just on our logo, but also on our restaurants,” a statement posted to X said. “We’re continuing to listen. Today, we’re suspending our remodels. If your restaurant hasn’t been remodeled, you don’t need to worry, it won’t be. With our recent announcement that our ‘Old Timer’ logo will remain, along with our bigger focus in the kitchen and on your plate, we hope that today’s step reinforces that we hear you.” This caving to public outcry came not long after the company decided to scrap their pricey, much maligned logo overhaul and reinstate their “Old Timer” mascot back to his place beside the barrel. This decision was made after company stock prices plummeted and social media buzzed with criticism. The company’s board, led by CEO Julie Felss Masino, ignored warning signs and criticism for months ahead of the announcement that they were ditching the old logo and giving stores a more modern look. Cracker Barrel previously abandoned the new logo in late August. “We thank our guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel. We said we would listen, and we have. Our new logo is going away and our ‘Old Timer’ will remain,” the company said in a statement, as The Daily Wire previously reported. “At Cracker Barrel, it’s always been – and always will be – about serving up delicious food, warm welcomes, and the kind of country hospitality that feels like family. As a proud American institution, our 70,000 hardworking employees look forward to welcoming you to our table soon,” the statement concluded. The logo reversal came just hours after President Trump suggested it. “Cracker Barrel should go back to the old logo, admit a mistake based on customer response (the ultimate Poll), and manage the company better than ever before,” the president shared on Truth Social at the time. “They got a Billion Dollars worth of free publicity if they play their cards right. Very tricky to do, but a great opportunity. Have a major News Conference today. Make Cracker Barrel a WINNER again. An assistant high school football coach who is also a school resource officer (SRO) in Clarksville, Tennessee, was removed from the coaching staff over complaints that he was proselytizing to players. Trey Campbell, a volunteer assistant coach for Northwest High School, was escorted out of last week’s game at halftime by the school’s principal after he was holding a Bible and leading players in prayer, according to local news outlet, Clarksville Now. Campbell, a deputy with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, was also placed on paid leave from his job as an SRO at the school. The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) said that it had received complaints about Campbell doing more than just leading players in prayer and was attempting to convert players to his faith while in his official capacity as a school employee. The school district said it is currently investigating the incident, WKRN reported. “It’s my understanding that the concern was not with private prayer, but that the principal received a concern that an employee was proselytizing in their official capacity,” a CMCSS official added in a statement. “We will investigate, and I can share more when that investigation has concluded. We are not able to conduct interviews or comment further until after the investigation has concluded.” The school district did not respond to a request to comment from The Daily Wire. Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson told Clarksville Now that the department “firmly stands behind any citizen who chooses to lawfully exercise their constitutional rights. This includes our employees.” Fuson added, “As a man of faith, I was equally concerned about the initial information regarding this and how it appeared to have been handled.” The sheriff, however, acknowledged that “there are always two sides to consider,” referring to the school district’s review of the incident involving Campbell. The deputy was placed on leave for “a couple of paid days off to process all of this,” according to the sheriff. Fuson added that Campbell’s position as an SRO at Northwest High School has not changed. When asked to provide further details about the incident and where the sheriff stands on the issue, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office told The Daily Wire that it did not have any further comment at this time. The issue over Campbell’s religious practices at the football game comes as President Donald Trump moves to protect prayer in public schools. Trump said on Monday that he has directed the Department of Education to “issue new guidance protecting the right to prayer in our public schools.” “America has always been a nation that believes in the power of prayer,” Trump said. “Together we will make our Country greater, stronger, more united, and more faithful than ever before!” The controversy in Tennessee shares some similarities to a major Supreme Court case that was decided in 2022, when high school football coach Joseph Kennedy was pressured by a public school system in Bremerton, Washington, to stop his practice of praying on the field after each game; a practice that many of his players joined. Kennedy’s contract was not renewed after the controversy over his post-game prayer, and the coach sued the school board. The case made it all the way up to the Supreme Court, which ruled 6-3 in Kennedy’s favor. In a phone call with The Daily Wire, Marc Wheat, General Counsel for former Vice President Mike Pence’s organization, Advancing American Freedom, brought up the Kennedy v. Bremerton School District case. Wheat, however, said that the issue in Tennessee appears to differ from the famous 2022 decision based on what’s been reported so far. “My understanding is that Campbell’s prayer time was during a game where the football players are there to be coached on strategy, tactics, getting them pumped up to go back on the field,” Wheat said. “So that’s pretty different from the Coach Kennedy case.” Wheat added that an important question that must be answered is whether the players were required to be present and listening to their coaches when Campbell was exercising his faith. He said that the arguments for and against Campbell practicing his faith at the game could change as more information comes out about the incident. Another aspect that Wheat pointed out that could add to a legal dilemma is that Campbell was acting as a volunteer football coach, while his employment was with the sheriff’s department. Andrea Picciotti-Bayer, director of the Conscience Project — a religious liberty advocacy group — told The Daily Wire that “often what’s reported isn’t what’s really going on” when it comes to religious liberty cases. “Sometimes something becomes very sensational and school administrators often act, throwing the net wider than they should and disciplining people for exercising legitimate rights out of fear and ignorance,” she said. “Obviously, there are elements to what’s been reported that look like religious activity was possibly going on during the game, during what would normally be the coaching of young people. And I think that’s where the record has to be developed more,” Picciotti-Bayer continued, adding, “There isn’t a problem unless there’s a level of coercion.” Picciotti-Bayer said that new guidance from Trump’s Education Department could be vital for further protecting religious liberty. She said that she expects the guidance to allow school employees “to actually live your faith, say your prayer at lunch time. Maybe not over an intercom, but to let that be a part of your life. You don’t have to leave your faith at the parking lot of the school or the parking lot of the football stadium.”

The kids are not okay.  We now have an enormous amount of poll data suggesting that Generation Z has some very serious problems, problems that they didn’t create for themselves. These are problems created by generations of bad parenting in the United States of America. A new NBC News poll shows young people are not fond of the idea of getting married or having babies — and they like socialism. This is disastrous. According to the NBC News poll, respondents aged 18 to 29 were asked about 13 different options for their top priorities. For women, the number one priority, the number one priority in life, was having a job or career they found fulfilling. Number two was having enough money to do the things that you want to do. Number three? Achieving financial independence. Number four? Having emotional stability. And then, if you go all the way down the list, number ten was having children, and number 11 was being married. This is a massive problem. If young women between the ages of 18 and 29 believe that it is a 10th priority to have kids and an 11th priority to get married, and their number one priority is having a job or a career, that is a gigantic mistake when it comes to the purpose of life. How about for men? Number one, having a job or career that you find fulfilling. Number two, having enough money to do the things you want to do. You have to go all the way down to number seven to get to “being married.” And number eight, “having children.” WATCH: The Ben Shapiro Show Any society that does not make its number one focus — not number two, not number three —  getting married and having kids, is a society doomed to failure because that is the priority of any society. You cannot pass your values on to the next generation if there is no next generation. And you can’t pass your values on to the next generation if you have no values. The reality is that the central purpose in life comes from the book of Genesis: Leaving your father and mother, marrying a member of the opposite sex, and having kids.  And that’s not just because it’s in the book of Genesis. The book of Genesis has lasted from time immemorial specifically because that happens to be true. Any society that believes yearning for individualistic pursuits — as shown here by the number two priority being having enough money to do the things you want to do — any society that is focused on hedonistic personal fulfillment is a society that is doomed to failure.  People will stop having kids. People will stop getting married. People will not be happy. And when they are not happy, because it turns out that the fruits of economics are not enough to make you happy, they will turn on the economics themselves, because you cannot fill that family-shaped hole in the heart with cash.  It is not possible to do it. You can’t. What gives fulfillment in life to human beings is getting married and having kids.  I know in our radically individualistic society, we’re supposed to believe that all forms of familial formation, all forms of sexual behavior, are equally admirable and equally the target of aspiration for society.  That is wrong and untrue. We should be teaching our kids that it is important to marry a member of the opposite sex, and have kids with those people.  Will there be people for whom this doesn’t apply? Sure, because for every rule there are exceptions. But if that is not the societal aspiration, what you end up with is people who are inward-focused.  That’s because what takes you out of your own emotional narcissism is getting married and having children.  In my book “Lions and Scavengers,” I talk about this: The word in Hebrew for love is “ahava.” The root of the word “ahava” is “hov,” to give. Thus, giving is at the root of love.  If you have no one to give yourself to, if you do not have, as it says in the Bible, an “ezer kenegdo,” which means a “helper against him,” it is not good.  The point is that a woman completes a man and a man completes a woman. And yes, they do need each other, and that is a beautiful thing. And when they come together, they have children. And that is the most beautiful thing.  Any society that vitiates that purpose and treats that purpose as not only secondary or tertiary, but 10th on the list of priorities, is a society that won’t have kids, and is doomed for unhappiness.  And then when that unhappiness materializes, people blame the economic system. These two things are connected. There’s polling data showing that young people, in particular, are warming toward socialism.  Why?  The answer is that if you can’t get what you want in the form of economics, then you tend to blame the economic system. It used to be that so long as you were able to earn for your family, that was the purpose of earning: to be able to buy a house for your family. Not just for you. For your family, to provide a better life for your kids. But if you separate family and kids from that purpose, no amount of money that you earn will ever be enough to do all the things you want to do, because there are always new things that you want to do.  I don’t blame young people for this. I blame their parents. Parents did not hand down the values that they were taught by their parents to their kids. We now have three generations in American life that have degraded the value of family and childbearing and child-rearing in favor of atomistic individualism that was supposed to provide a libertarian fulfillment. It’s empty. People are unhappy. The reality of the world is that it is women, traditionally speaking and biologically speaking, who long to have children. This pretend, nonsense, made-up world in which women are taught that they shouldn’t want to have children is unnatural. There’s a reason why every study of rhesus monkeys shows that if you give female rhesus monkeys a truck, they will take the truck and start cradling the truck. The male rhesus monkeys will start hitting each other with it. Men and women are different. When you tell women they don’t want the most natural thing for them to want, you get unhappy women. And when men can’t fulfill their highest purpose because many women don’t want to fulfill that purpose either, they get angry at women, and they become counterproductive and bad citizens of society. When you alienate women from their magical superpower, having children, and you tell them that’s exactly what they shouldn’t want, that what they actually should want is to be more like men working 2200 billable hours at a law firm, what you’re going to end up with is an enormous amount of unhappiness. And that unhappiness stems from women who have been alienated from the central purpose in life, and men who actively would like to form families with women and then fulfill their central purpose in life.
