Why Is My Puppy So Hyper? 9 Common Reasons

Click to Skip Ahead Reasons for Hyperactivity Prevention Tips When Do They Stop Being Hyper? Puppyhood comes with a huge learning curve‚ for your new puppy and for you as a new dog owner. While they learn about the world and how to interact with it‚ you need to learn about the best food and training supplies and figure out a routine that will keep your dog happy. Managing your puppy’s energy level isn’t always easy‚ especially after a long‚ exhausting day at work. When you just want to sit and relax‚ your puppy’s hyperactivity can be a chore to deal with‚ especially when it ends with sharp and often painful bites because your puppy just wants to play. Hyperactivity is a common issue. Fortunately‚ knowing the causes can help you encourage your puppy to calm down. Here are common reasons for hyperactive puppies and tips on how to help them overcome it. The 9 Reasons for Hyperactivity in Puppies 1. Lack of Exercise or Entertainment Puppies get rid of energy by exploring and playing‚ but there comes a point when they run out of things to do. They need a variety of toys‚ activities‚ and walks to manage their energy‚ or they might get bored or frustrated about having nothing to entertain themselves with. Boredom and frustration often result in destructive behavior or aggression‚ but it can also be shown through how much trouble your puppy gets into by zooming around the house. If they don’t have an acceptable target for their energy‚ like a good chew toy‚ all that pent-up energy will be released by barking‚ running around‚ or jumping up at you and your guests. Image Credit: dezy‚ Shutterstock 2. Overtired While boredom can be a cause of hyperactivity‚ the opposite is also true. Puppies that have too much to do are prone to hyperactivity. When they get too tired and don’t understand that they need a nap‚ their discomfort will make them frustrated. While they might chew through your favorite shoes‚ they can also become hyper. You need to find a careful balance between not enough activity and too much. This will become easier the more you get to know your dog and the more familiar you become with their energy levels. Give them plenty of activities to do‚ including training sessions‚ but don’t forget to give them regular quiet times too. This will give them a chance to cool off‚ relax‚ and get in a quick nap to recharge. 3. Attention Seeking They might be small‚ but puppies are like a sponge when it comes to learning new things. With treats‚ affection‚ and dedication‚ your puppy will pick up all sorts of things‚ including behavior that you might not mean to encourage. Puppies love to have your attention‚ whether it’s in treat form or affection. If you pay attention to your puppy every time they get overexcited during playtime‚ they’ll see it as positive reinforcement even if you’re trying to tell them to stop. The next time they feel neglected‚ they’ll be hyperactive because they know that it’ll get your attention. Encourage calm behavior by interacting with your puppy when they’re playing gently or relaxed. If they get overexcited‚ make yourself less interesting. Stop pulling on the tug toy and step away. It’s a challenge‚ but it’s worth it to teach your puppy when enough is enough. 4. Breed All puppies are full of energy when they’re young‚ but the amount of energy packed into their tiny body can vary depending on their breed. A working dog like the Border Collie will have far more energy than a more sedate breed like the French Bulldog. While the breed’s size can play a part‚ with larger dogs generally having more energy‚ the original purpose of the breed is important to consider too. Consider Border Collies as an example. They were bred to herd sheep all day‚ every day. To this end‚ they need plenty of energy and an almost endless amount of stamina. This trait makes them one of the best herding breeds in the world‚ but they’re renowned for being relentless when it comes to their energy levels. A puppy might have less stamina than an adult Border Collie‚ but they’ll still have a large amount of energy for you to manage. Image Credit: kontrymphoto‚ Shutterstock 5. Diet Sometimes‚ your puppy’s hyperactivity might not be because of their breed or the fact that they’re overstimulated. Instead‚ it might be a result of what they eat. The food that your dog eats will impact all their systems‚ from their digestive system to their brain development. It’ll even make a difference in their sleep cycle‚ energy levels‚ and skin health. A healthy‚ high-quality diet will help your puppy grow and support natural levels of energy and their health. Conversely‚ the wrong diet might contain ingredients like sugar‚ which can result in hyperactivity. Puppies will get a sugar rush and act hyper if they eat too many treats or the wrong type of diet. It’s important to carefully research the nutrition that your dog needs and check the ingredients in their food. 6. Lack of Training Obedience training isn’t just a way to encourage your dog to listen to you; it also teaches them how to manage their behavior. The same is true for socialization. The more experience your dog has‚ the more familiar they’ll become with people‚ other pets‚ and other stimuli. Without training‚ your puppy won’t know how they’re expected to react to things that they experience. A quick play session might end with an overexcited puppy that doesn’t know how or when to calm down again simply because they haven’t been taught to recognize when their behavior is unacceptable. It might be fun to have a tiny puppy climbing all over you or cute when they nip at your fingers‚ but you need to remember they won’t always be small forever. An adult dog biting or jumping on you isn’t nearly as fun and can even be dangerous‚ especially if they do it to a child or a stranger. 7. Underlying Health Problems Most of the time‚ hyperactivity in puppies is easily corrected and can be a result of a bad diet‚ their breed‚ or limited exercise. However‚ it can also be caused by underlying health issues. This is rare but a possibility. When you’re trying to figure out the cause of your puppy’s hyperactivity‚ you need to pay attention to whether the behavior continues. If you change their diet‚ activity level‚ and training but they’re still hyper‚ book an appointment with your veterinarian. They’ll be able to screen for medical issues like hyperthyroidism‚ neurological conditions‚ or other medical issues that might result in hyperactivity. The earlier you get the problem diagnosed‚ the easier it’ll be to treat. Image Credit: Rita_Kochmarjova‚ Shutterstock 8. Potty Break Puppies‚ especially younger ones‚ aren’t just learning about the world around them. They’re also learning how their body works and what it’s trying to tell them. As they learn to interpret what they need‚ they can show odd behavior. One of the most common is becoming hyper or overly restless when they need to go to the bathroom. If they’re older and slowly getting used to house training‚ hyperactivity might be their way of asking to go out. If they’re younger‚ they might not fully understand what their body is trying to tell them. This might lead to a bout of the zoomies until they figure it out. 9. Puppy Energy Most of a puppy’s hyperactivity is simply down to being a puppy. Younger dogs are always more excitable than adults; it’s normal. They need a great deal of energy to explore the world around them‚ and they often haven’t figured out how to manage their energy levels so it lasts longer than the short bursts of activity that puppies are known for. As they grow‚ your puppy will steadily grow out of their hyperactivity. They might still get the zoomies when they’re older‚ but they’ll also settle down more in their maturity and learn to control themselves better. You can help by reinforcing calm behavior and working on obedience training. Providing a job for your working breed to do can help too. How to Prevent Hyperactivity in Puppies Puppies are energetic goofballs no matter what breed they are‚ but this doesn’t mean their energy can’t be managed. Once you know the possible causes of their hyperactivity‚ you can work on figuring out how to properly manage their energy levels. Consider Their Breed Before you bring home a puppy‚ always make sure you do plenty of research into the breed you’re interested in. You need to see if your lifestyle enables you to keep up with a high-energy dog or whether a quieter breed will be more of a match for you. While a dog can encourage you to be more active‚ a high-energy herding breed might be too much for you to keep up with. Your time constraints need to be considered too. If you’re at work all day and then have to take care of the kids in the evening‚ you might not have time to give your dog the exercise that they need to manage their energy levels. Give Them Something to Do The right level of activity is the best way to manage a hyperactive puppy’s energy levels. You need to supply them with a variety of toys and activities throughout the day to keep them moving. Physical activity isn’t the only outlet that you should provide for your dog’s energy‚ though. Consider giving them puzzles and other mental activities to keep their brain active. Image Credit: Rylen M‚ Shutterstock Reinforce Calm Behavior It might seem like your puppy is running around 24/7‚ but there are many times when they’ll be calm and quiet. You’ll also learn to notice when your puppy is playing gently before they get too invested in their game. It’s this calm‚ relaxed behavior that you want to reward with treats and your attention. By positively reinforcing your puppy’s calm behavior and disengaging when they get overexcited‚ you’ll teach them that playing nicely keeps the game going longer. Work on Their Training Sometimes‚ hyperactive behavior isn’t hyper so much as bad manners that your dog has learned through their interactions with you. Training can help here. You can help your puppy learn that jumping up at you or racing around the house when you grab the leash isn’t appropriate behavior. By teaching them how to behave‚ you’ll also be encouraging them to think about how they react to different situations. This will help keep their mind active too. When Do Puppies Stop Being Hyper? Most puppies will grow out of their boundless energy levels. As they learn how to control themselves‚ they’ll know how to manage their energy and settle into their maturity. This can take between 1 and 2 years‚ depending on their breed. The longer you have your dog‚ the more familiar you’ll become with their needs. You’ll be better able to build a routine perfect for their activity level and figure out when they are getting restless or bored or need a break. Some breeds are also much quieter and happier to laze around than others. For more active breeds‚ you’ll find that they never lose their excessive energy levels. They might learn to play nicely and behave in a manner that’s not quite so hyperactive‚ but they’ll still be full of energy all day. This is why building a routine that’s tailored to them and their energy needs is essential‚ along with making sure you choose a puppy that matches your family. Conclusion Puppies are always full of energy‚ but there comes a time when they aren’t energetic so much as hyperactive. While the cause of this can be as simple as puppyhood exuberance as they learn about the world around them‚ it can also be caused by overstimulation‚ tiredness‚ boredom‚ diet‚ and on rare occasions‚ health issues. Use this list to figure out what’s setting off your puppy’s hyperactivity‚ and try to adjust their schedule to suit their energy needs to manage it. 3 INSANE examples that prove the left is dividing America

If America seems more divided than ever‚ it might just be because that’s the goal of the left. “The left unfortunately doesn’t realize they’re being used‚” Glenn Beck explains‚ before pointing out three major examples of the left weaponizing division. His first example is filmmaker Michael Moore‚ who is well known for his leftist positions and hatred of the right. In a segment on MSNBC‚ Moore told host Ayman Mohyeldin who the real enemies of Israel were. “For the last 2‚000 years‚ most of the persecution has come from white European-centric Christians‚” Moore said. “That’s been your enemy. No Palestinian helped to build Auschwitz.” “Your enemy is not the Palestinian people‚ it is white Christian European people who have been slaughtering Jews for the last 2‚000 years‚” he continued. While Glenn concedes that there has been some well-documented persecution specifically in Germany‚ he points out that the Jews are currently going after Hamas — not even close to white — and that the ships turned away from America during the Holocaust were turned away at a Democrat's will. Glenn’s second example also includes an MSNBC segment with Tom Schaller and Paul Waldman‚ who authored the book “White Rural Rage.” “We lay out the four-fold‚ interconnected threat that white rural voters pose to the country‚” Schaller says on “Morning Joe.” “They are the most racist‚ xenophobic‚ anti-immigrant‚ anti-gay‚ geodemographic group in the country. Second‚ they’re the most conspiracist group‚ QAnon support and subscribers‚ election denialism‚ COVID denialism‚ scientific skepticism‚ Obama birtherism‚” Schaller continues. “They are painting half of the country as an enemy‚” Glenn says‚ shocked. ‘Intolerable tragedy’: GOP senator warns of ‘upward trend in exploitative child labor’ — 88% increase since 2019

United States Republican Senator Bill Cassidy from Louisiana warned of an “upward trend in exploitative child labor‚” according to two separate letters sent to the Biden administration’s Department of Labor and Department of Health and Human Services on Tuesday‚ the New York Post reported. The letters‚ obtained by the Post‚ demanded a response from the departments regarding their plans to curb the 88% uptick in child labor violations since 2019. Cassidy also noted a 50% increase since 2022.The HHS inspector general released a report last month finding that the department failed to conduct safety checks on sponsors of children in 16% of case files.According to Cassidy‚ the Biden administration has “relaxed sponsor vetting requirements‚” placing unaccompanied migrant minors at risk of being trafficked. HHS’ Office of Refugee Resettlement “is responsible for protecting children from ‘smugglers‚ traffickers‚ or others who might seek to victimize or otherwise engage the child in criminal‚ harmful or exploitative activity‚’ which includes working dangerous jobs in exploitative conditions‚” Cassidy wrote. The Republican senator referenced recent reports that migrant children have been injured working in various factories across the United States‚ including meatpacking facilities where they work overnight shifts cleaning dangerous machinery. Cassidy noted that children as young as 12 are “working in dangerous jobs at all hours of the day and night‚” including as roofers and sawmill workers.“This years-long increase in unaccompanied migrant children crossing the southern border under the Biden administration‚ and the negative incentive for these children to expose themselves to dangerous working conditions‚ is an intolerable tragedy for which we must find an immediate and lasting solution‚” Cassidy stated in the letter to the DOL’s Wage and Hour Division. According to Cassidy‚ it took the DOL six months to notify Congress that a 16-year-old migrant child was killed in July 2023 while cleaning a deboning machine at a chicken plant.“It is clear that the enforcement actions taken so far against violators have not slowed this upward trend in exploitative child labor‚” he added. The DOL admits that child labor violations have been increasing.“Wage and Hour Division investigations found a significant increase in children being employed illegally‚ and in 2023 we launched a National Strategic Enforcement Initiative on Child Labor to put additional emphasis on addressing this critical issue‚” the department website states. The DOL found 5‚792 minors illegally employed in the fiscal year 2023‚ compared to 3‚876 in 2022. The department’s new initiative aims to use “data-driven‚ worker-focused strategies to initiate investigations where child-labor violations are most likely to occur.”Neither the DOL nor HHS responded to the Post’s request for comment.Like Blaze News? KJP gaslights reporter into oblivion‚ forcing another reporter to step in and call her out: 'Can you answer his question?!'

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre became visibly upset on Tuesday after a reporter confronted her over President Joe Biden's heavy reliance upon notecards.Biden's notecards‚ used to help him navigate meetings with foreign leaders and press conferences‚ have received scrutiny in the past. But his usage of notecards is coming under intense focus in connection with concerns about his mental acuity. Most recently‚ Biden was spotted using notecards while visiting the southern border and while meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni."Why does the president rely so heavily on notecards?" Fox Business reporter Edward Lawrence asked Jean-Pierre. What followed from the press secretary was an award-winning performance in gaslighting. At first‚ she accused Lawrence of being "upset" about the notecards. And when he denied being upset‚ she simply repeated his question back to him before ignoring it altogether."I'm asking why does he rely so heavily?" Lawrence clarified."The president‚ who has had probably one of the most successful first three years of an administration than any modern-day president— he’s done more in the first three years than most presidents who had two terms. You're asking me about notecards?" the press secretary responded. — (@) The gaslighting was too much for reporter James Rosen‚ who called out Jean-Pierre."Can you answer his question?!" Rosen requested.Rosen's interjection clearly angered Jean-Pierre."I'm not speaking to you right now‚ James‚" she fumed. "I'm talking to your friend over here‚ Ed. But thank you so much for interjecting."After scolding Rosen‚ Lawrence once again asked his question‚ but Jean-Pierre refused to answer it. "The most important thing‚ here‚" she pontificated‚ is that Biden is "delivering" for the American people.Last month‚ Axios reported on Biden's extensive reliance upon notecards‚ which is increasing.According to the outlet‚ Biden is using "notecards in closed-door fundraisers‚ calling on prescreened donors and then consulting his notes to provide detailed answers." Those notecards help Biden explain his own policy positions on prescreened questions. His reliance on those notecards is raising questions about his mental acuity among donors‚ Axios reported. It is interesting to point out that Jean-Pierre chose to gaslight‚ get frustrated‚ and dodge Lawrence's question‚ rather than offer a plausible explanation for why the president — who is tasked with retaining large amounts of information — might use notecards to help him stay sharp. CIA’s new mission: Wokeness over expertise

CIA’s new mission: Wokeness over expertise

Diversity‚ equity‚ and inclusion are now “mission” in the Central Intelligence Agency. After more than a decade of constant politicization‚ American intelligence is now officially woke. Promotions of the best intelligence professionals are unlikely in the new CIA‚ unless all the DEI criteria are met. This is not virtue-signaling. It is a very real‚ fundamental transformation of American intelligence. The cultural revolution has been under way for years. The starting point can be traced to 2011‚ when President Barack Obama issued Executive Order 13583 to impose critical race and gender theory on the entire federal workforce. It had nothing to do with intelligence and everything to do with further politicizing the bureaucracy. CIA Director John Brennan implemented the order with gusto. In the final months of the Trump administration‚ CIA Director Gina Haspel released the “2020-2023 CIA Diversity and Inclusion Strategy” after years of preparation. Haspel explained that her strategy “weaves diversity and inclusion throughout the talent cycle” — there was no “equity” at that point — “calls for an increase in the diversity of the talent pool for our leadership positions‚ and prioritizes inclusion.” The purpose was not for the CIA to do a better job‚ but to “build a more inclusive culture.” Those objectives “are in the DNA” of the new “2024-2027 CIA Diversity‚ Equity‚ Inclusion‚ and Accessibility Strategy.” CIA Director William J. Burns released the latest DEI three-year plan last fall‚ adding an “A” for accessibility. “Our DEIA strategy lays out our commitment to shaping a workforce that fully reflects the diversity of our great nation‚” Burns said in the introduction. He said nothing about the strategy improving America’s defense against its enemies abroad. It was not about equal employment opportunities. It was about diversity for diversity’s sake. Imposition of critical race theory and broader critical gender theory and critical legal theory took decades of development from something called the Frankfurt School that refined cultural Marxism as a weapon against the West. What began as a Kremlin active-measures operation under Stalin has morphed over generations to become what the CIA calls part of its “core” doctrine. The injection of DEI ideology into the CIA first began‚ like most political subversion‚ with the creation of cells embedded throughout the bureaucracy. These cells‚ which look and behave much like the old Communist Party cells in government‚ cater to aggrieved identity groups based on sex‚ sexual preference and fetish‚ and ethnicity and race. The CIA officially recognizes them as agency resource groups‚ or ARGs. The cells are organized horizontally and integrated across the intelligence community. They pushed their grievance agendas at the lower levels. They recruited like-minded people and banded together with what they called “allies” so that by the time of Obama’s 2011 executive order‚ the CIA had organized cadres available for promotion to upper management in the name of DEI. In the 2024-2027 plan‚ the CIA’s chief diversity and inclusion officer (yes‚ there is such a thing) credited the leaders of the ARGs “who contributed to this strategy.” This is not virtue-signaling. It is a very real‚ fundamental transformation of American intelligence. As with the Haspel plan of 2020-2023 and Brennan’s plan before it‚ the new CIA diversity strategy spells out what Burns calls the “measurables” — the quarterly quotas and behavior modifications to advance the revolution. Both strategies spell out a numbing litany of bureaucratic means to measure compliance with the new ideology. The CIA personnel system requires lots of boxes to check so that every officer‚ analyst‚ and employee is evaluated on how he‚ she‚ or it complies with the ever-changing and ever-tightening cultural revolutionary requirements under way. The public got a glimpse of it in 2021‚ when the agency launched Haspel’s “Humans of the CIA” recruitment drive for a woke new generation. The cornerstone video featured a 36-year-old CIA employee who spent two and a half minutes talking only about herself: “I am perfectly made.” “I am a woman of color.” “I am a cis-gender Millennial who’s been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder.” “I am intersectional.” “I am a walking declaration.” The CIA woman referred to herself at least 45 times‚ informing the viewer that “I am educated‚ qualified‚ and competent‚” and boasting about “my brilliance.” This was the profile that the CIA leadership choreographed in a planned‚ carefully staged and recorded social media recruitment campaign. To speed more DEI promotions regardless of professionalism‚ the 2024-2027 strategy says the agency will “review and adjust standards for Senior Intelligence Service incentives based on impact of actions to support enterprise diversity‚ inclusion‚ equity‚ and accessibility efforts.” In other words‚ if you don’t promote critical race theory‚ gender theory‚ and queer theory‚ no matter how fine an intelligence officer‚ analyst‚ or supervisor you may be‚ you won’t go far any more at the new CIA.

Soros-backed DA Gascón allegedly used 'mafia tactics' to intimidate LA prosecutor who exposed woke policies

Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Tatiana Chahoian recently told KTTV that her boss‚ George Soros-backed District Attorney George Gascón‚ used "mafia tactics" to intimidate her after she exposed his soft-on-crime policies. On February 26‚ Chahoian blew the whistle on Gascón by informing the media that a recent memo urged prosecutors not to pursue crimes related to reckless driving‚ street racing‚ and street takeovers that do not result in injuries. Chahoian told KTTV that she was in "a state of shock" when she received the communication from Gascón."The same conduct that we're talking about here is the same conduct that results in the death of so many people. It's like saying if somebody shoots at somebody else‚ and they're a bad shot‚ and they miss‚ we're not going to file charges because nothing happened‚" she told the news outlet.Chahoian said that two days after she exposed the memo's instructions‚ two police officers showed up at her home to deliver a letter from Gascón's office."It was a three-page letter telling me that I lied‚ telling me that I violated policies with Gascón's office and that I didn't obtain approval before speaking out‚ as if I don't have a First Amendment right and essentially telling me to be quiet and meet with my supervisor‚" she explained.Fox News Digital reported that Laura Kessner‚ Gascón's central operations director‚ wrote in the letter to Chahoian‚ "Your statements to the media were untrue‚ a misrepresentation of the communication from Head Deputy John Harlan‚ conflicted with the LADA [personnel policy handbook]‚ and were misleading to the public.""Your statements were also a disservice to your colleagues who work diligently every day to promote public safety in an ethical manner‚" the letter reportedly read.Chahoian told KTTV that she is "very afraid" she may lose her job."I mean‚ silencing people by threatening them with the police is literally a mafia tactic‚ and I don't work for the mob‚" Chahoian remarked‚ noting that the correspondence from Gascón's office could have been delivered via email."We don't live in a third-world country where police are sent to people's homes to intimidate them into silence‚" she added.Gascón‚ who has already dodged two recall efforts‚ has been met with incredible frustration and pushback from the Los Angeles County community for his soft-on-crime policies. Last month‚ during a district attorney debate‚ the mother of a shooting victim confronted Gascón for having "more sympathy" for criminals than victims‚ Blaze News previously reported. In response to Chahoian's allegations‚ Gascón's office told KTTV‚ "We cannot comment on specific personnel matters. Saying that‚ honesty is critically important to any prosecutor's office. Addressing false claims made by District Attorney staff or the media is a fundamental responsibility of this office — failure to do so fuels distrust in the important work we do every day‚ undermining our duty to the public and to justice."Like Blaze News? Dem DA in Texas has trouble voting after her live-in 'partner' casts ballot in her name: 'Clerical errors can occur'

A Democrat district attorney running for re-election in Texas had some difficulty casting a ballot this week after poll workers informed her that someone else had already voted in her name. For the past eight years‚ Kim Ogg has been the district attorney of Harris County‚ the most heavily populated county in Texas. This year‚ she faced a strong Democrat primary challenger‚ former prosecutor Sean Teare‚ so she knew she needed every vote she could get if she wanted to serve a third term. But her re-election hopes took a back seat on Tuesday after she walked into the Love Park Community Center in Houston to cast her ballot only to learn that a ballot had already been cast in her name. It turns out that fellow attorney Olivia Jordan‚ repeatedly described as Ogg's live-in "partner‚" voted last Friday during the state's early voting period‚ and as the two women share the same address‚ she had somehow been issued a ballot for Ogg."In this instance‚ DA Ogg's partner must have not noticed that the information was not hers and proceeded to sign in under DA Ogg's name‚" claimed Harris County Clerk Teneshia Hudspeth.According to Ogg‚ Jordan brought her passport and voter registration with her the day she voted. She even "signed her own name" on the voting paperwork‚ further indicating that she simply made an honest mistake and meant no harm‚ Hudspeth added. To untangle the mess and allow Ogg to vote‚ polling officials "transferred" Jordan's vote so that it was listed under her name and offered to give Ogg a provisional ballot‚ but Ogg refused it. Instead‚ she left the polling station and returned later to vote in normal fashion. But she expressed concern that others in a similar situation might not have the means or the time to make multiple trips to the polls."The average citizen probably would not have waited an hour and still not able to vote‚" she said. "When I left and I worried that people have to pick up kids‚ be at work‚ if they have such problems‚ I urge them to exercise patience‚ but I’m concerned voters might be turned off by this mistake and leave."Hudspeth admitted that "clerical errors can occur at polls" but still insisted that voters must ensure that they are following the proper procedures. "In the process of qualifying a voter‚ each voter is asked to review and confirm the information that appears on the iPad screen‚ including the voter’s name. If the information that appears on the screen is not accurate‚ the voter must notify the election clerk‚" she said in a statement. "It is the voter’s responsibility to verify that their information on the iPad screen is correct before they are issued a poll code."Though Ogg's and Jordan's votes were eventually cast properly‚ they do not seem to have helped Ogg's re-election prospects. Challenger Teare trounced Ogg‚ 65‚000 votes to just 18‚000 votes. Teare also trounced Ogg in terms of fundraising‚ amassing $750‚000 in the first half of 2023‚ more than ten times the amount Ogg raised during the same period‚ Chron reported. Ogg blamed the fundraising disparity on a "Soros investment" in her opponent. In her concession speech‚ Ogg railed against her "enemies" and claimed she performed her duties despite significant pressure to do otherwise. "If doing my job cost me my job‚ then I leave with my head held high‚" she told supporters.Teare will now face Republican Dan Simons‚ a former prosecutor‚ in the general election in November. WATCH: Theo Von reacts to migrants attacking NYPD: 'I will beat the horchata out of that motherf****r'

Comedian and podcaster Theo Von put all jokes aside when discussing the migrants who attacked New York police officers with Border Patrol Chief Chris Clem on “This Past Weekend.” Dave Rubin plays a clip of Von going off on what can only be described as complete “nonsense.” “The fact that they’re putting the officers at risk … you gotta go‚” Von told Clem. What makes matters worse is that the offenders were released just hours after the incident and were flipping off the cameras and blowing kisses as they walked free. To that‚ Von said‚ “I think it's a bad look to the people of this country who are still trying to obey the laws and uphold them.” “Well‚ that’s the lack of consequences‚ right?” said Clem. “This is what pisses off the Border Patrol agents because we've had to process and release these types of people.” Perhaps Von didn’t put all jokes aside‚ because he added‚ “Let that motherf****r loose around Sean Strickland” and “I will beat the horchata out of that motherf****r” in reference to the migrant who was flipping off the camera and blowing kisses. “There's a total lack of respect‚” Von continued‚ “and when we don't show any respect for ourselves … a lack of respect [is] going to keep coming.” Dave is particularly impressed with that last comment. “If we don't show respect for ourselves‚ other people will not respect us‚ and that's what we are doing to this country. We are not respecting our laws‚ so then other people come here and they don't respect our laws‚” he says in agreement. Enjoying a smoke with the Catholic Cigar Company

We had about an hour for cigars and whiskey. That morning‚ J.J. Pedula and Shea Waits drove from Oklahoma City to meet me at a cigar lounge in Owasso‚ Oklahoma. Immediately afterward‚ they would have to jet off for other meetings‚ all while racing a monstrous cold front that would cover much of the nation in snow. On the drive home‚ they would pray. But for an hour‚ as J.J. and Shea laid out their vision‚ the world and all of its problems didn’t exist. “We're relaxing‚ we're having a cigar. And we're gonna be talking about sports‚ we will be talking about politics‚ we're gonna be talking about whatever. But then there comes a time where we're going to be talking about the really important things.” They’ve followed a veritable bread-crumb trail of blessings‚ landing at the foot of a unique small business: Incensum: The Catholic Cigar Company. We settled into our leather smoking chairs and talked. And nobody said it aloud‚ but we all knew that the conversation would go at least as long as the cigars. They opened with Incensum’s origin story. Both Shea and J.J. had been on the hunt for a side hustle‚ something they could do to make some extra cash. Then the idea came‚ strictly as a joke‚ “What if we sold Catholic cigars?” What does it mean to make a “Catholic cigar”? And what would this mean in the highfalutin world of cigar appreciation? “You always see these real nice button-ups and the brimmed hats‚” Shea said‚ “and they look suave and everything and‚ like — that's not us.” Both J.J. and Shea are "ordinary” guys who have devoted themselves to a mission that is extraordinary: “We wear a flannel and we're blue-collar‚ and we work everyday jobs‚" says Shea. “Those are the type of men that make the world go around.” “Men‚ especially Catholic men‚ we are at war. We are really in the trenches. We're being attacked from all angles. And‚ you know‚ it's our job to provide for our families‚ both corporeal needs and spiritual needs.” “Obviously‚ we're supported by our wives. We're supported by the church. But for a long time‚ I felt like I was kind of a lone wolf. Because there's no one there to talk to you about those important things other than your buddies and your brothers.” Cigars are a way of bringing men together‚ says Shea. “We're relaxing‚ we're having a cigar. And we're gonna be talking about sports‚ we will be talking about politics‚ we're gonna be talking about whatever. But then there comes a time where we're going to be talking about the really important things.” “You can't really look at America right now and say that it is a Christian nation‚” he continues. “There's so much pornography out there. You get on any social media platform‚ and it's just garbage. And it's trash. How do you keep your family protected from that and move forward in the truth?” In response‚ they wanted to do something fun‚ a side gig that also gives other Catholic men the experiences that they have with the men from their own parish. “It was like an answer to prayer because for months‚ I was trying to think about what I was going to do‚ as kind of a side deal‚ something a little bit more fulfilling. And something related to Catholicism. And it was like‚ I didn't have my heart on real estate or anything like that. And so I wasn't pulling the trigger on anything.” Next‚ they needed a name. They came up with “Incensum‚” the Latin word for “to set fire to.” It carries an apostolic undertone. “We're out there fighting the good fight‚” says J.J. “But not a lot of us. And nothing is particularly tailored to our needs. And this is what we're trying to do.” They’re interested in “sanctifying the Catholic cigar experience.” It’s inherently cultural. “I would love for Catholic men to rediscover Catholicism as a culture and not just a religion‚ something that happens on Sunday‚" says J.J. "It's something that you live.” They point to companies like Black Rifle Coffee: “Disruptors in their space who make great coffee. And they don't take themselves too seriously. So that's where the idea came from. And then it just started developing.” In a time of DEI panic and corporate amorality‚ J.J. and Shea have founded a business on the principles that guide them. Their values are front and center‚ right there on the cigar branding. When you have one of their cigars‚ you enjoy a quality smoke while supporting a Christian mission. What good is a parallel economy without a stogie at hand? .

Joe Rogan loses it over leftist push to rebrand pedophilia as another identity: 'For what reason?'

The titular host of "The Joe Rogan Experience" recently spoke with Manhattan Institute fellow Christopher Rufo about the ongoing culture wars over race and gender that have transformed American homes‚ schools‚ and HR departments into battlefields. While Rufo and Rogan touched on various issues in Tuesday's episode‚ including the perniciousness of DEI practices and the left's tactical mischaracterization of Florida's Parental Rights in Education Act‚ the host's most biting commentary concerned recent efforts by Democrats and other leftists to normalize evil‚ particularly the kind animated by a desire to prey on children and destroy innocence. Early in the podcast‚ the duo discussed the importance of moral structure and well-enforced rules in a society. Rogan suggested that it "all goes out the window" when deviant behavior is left unchecked. This prompted Rufo to reflect on his time living in Seattle. The conservative activist noted that when walking his son to kindergarten in the Democrat-run city‚ they would "have to be avoiding schizophrenics‚ avoiding tents‚ avoiding people shooting up‚ avoiding people just s***ting in the street." Rufo noted that when he raised his concerns with city administrators‚ he was told‚ "Oh‚ well‚ you know‚ we have to be compassionate to our houseless neighbors‚" to which his reply was apparently‚ "No we don't. This is a danger to kids." Although Rogan agreed with Rufo that there must be "reasonable limits" on compassion as well as on tolerance for bad behavior‚ he seized upon the word "houseless." "I love when these terms like 'the houseless' — like‚ you already have a word for it. Yeah‚ stop trying to dress it up with a new word‚" said Rogan. Rogan then highlighted another euphemism he had come across that has similarly been used to disguise a grim reality. "This one's been driving me f**king crazy lately: 'minor-attracted person‚'" said Rogan. "I saw two politicians in two different speeches talk about protecting 'minor-attracted persons.' You're talking about pedophiles." "That's what we're talking about‚" Rufo confirmed. Karen Berg‚ a Democratic state senator in Kentucky‚ employed the term last week during a committee hearing concerning legislation that would make it a felony to possess a sex doll fashioned to resemble a child. Berg appears to say in one video of the hearing‚ "There are what they call 'MAPS‚' minor-attracted persons‚ and the limited amount of research that's done on these dolls‚ guys‚ suggest that they actually — for people who are attracted to minors — that these dolls actually decrease their proclivity to go out and attack children." This might be the most disturbing thing you see today. Watch KY Democratic Senator Karen Berg propose Child Sex Dolls for Pedophiles. This type of disturbing proposition has no place in the Commonwealth. — (@) The term has entered circulation in some leftist circles‚ but there has been resistance in the alphabet community. Center Square indicated in 2020 that the then-new movement to use the terms "minor-attracted persons" or "non-offending minor attracted persons" was ultimately an effort to normalize pedophilia. It apparently had caused concern among elements of the gay community who wanted to make sure that the so-called MAPS flag wouldn't be flown at LGBT parades. There appears to be continued support for the term and the corresponding effort on university campuses. Sociology professor Allyn Walker penned a book normalizing pedophilia called "A Long‚ Dark Shadow: Minor-Attracted People and Their Pursuit of Dignity‚" which was published by University of California Press. Facing significant backlash over the book and related research‚ Walker was ultimately squeezed out of Old Dominion University in Virginia in 2021. However‚ the ouster revealed an ideological infection in the academy. Newsweek revealed that 60 professors in mental health‚ human sexuality‚ and other fields defended Walker's activism‚ calling it "important and ground-breaking" scholarship. "It must be that these people have no children‚" Rogan told Rufo. "It must be. I don't know. If they do‚ they're monsters. This idea that you're going to minimize the harm caused by evil criminals who steal children's lives‚ ruin their lives forever. And you're just going to call them a 'minor-attracted person' and try to say that it's an identity. ... For what reason?" Rufo noted that efforts to normalize perversity targeting children appear to be coupled with efforts to shut down criticism. "You look at even something that has been propagandized at length: drag queen story hour. Let's just break it down to the basic facts. These are adult men dressing up in women's clothing ... dancing and performing for other people's children‚" said Rufo. "That should be a red flag for people but ... they've couched it in this language like you're talking about — euphemisms. Very‚ very soft-sounding words [like] tolerance‚ inclusion." "But you're concealing from people the fact that it's like‚ actually‚ no‚ this is kind of uncomfortable‚" continued the conservative activist. Rufo noted that while most people understand that what's going on is wrong‚ many have been cowed into silence by the threat of being branded a "bigot." — (@) Like Blaze News?
