Ben Shapiro Posts Shocking Thread Revealing DEI At Work In Medicine: ‘Even If Doctors Injure Patients‚ They Might Still Be Protected’

Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro posted a thread on X on Monday‚ revealing his troubling findings of how diversity‚ equity‚ and inclusion (DEI) principles are being implemented by doctors‚ potentially putting patients at risk. “DEI in medicine means that even if doctors injure patients‚ they might still be protected (even promoted). It means that top hospitals are abandoning key metrics when hiring surgeons. And it means research by whites may be disregarded. Here’s what I’ve found…” Shapiro wrote. Shapiro began his thread by discussing Kychelle Del Rosario‚ a Wake Forest medical student who is getting ready to graduate from the school and potentially start a career in the medical field. Del Rosario made headlines in 2022 after she injured a patient who laughed at her “She/Her” pronoun pin. The Wake Forest medical student posted about her actions on social media‚ seemingly joking about missing the vein of the patient who made fun of her pin. 2/ Sources tell me Wake Forest Medical School is about to graduate Kychelle Del Rosario – the med student who injured a conservative patient and bragged about it. Wake Forest allowed Rosario to lay low and take a voluntary leave of absence when this scandal broke. pic.twitter.com/baTT9YNP6o — Ben Shapiro (@benshapiro) February 26‚ 2024 Del Rosario was defended by fellow Wake Forest medical student Ewen Liu who said the jab was an accident‚ but it “seemed ‘karma-tic.’” Shapiro said that he has learned Liu was recently hired by UPenn Health where she focuses on “substance use disorder‚ LGBTQ+ health‚ community medicine.” “Both UPenn and Liu’s medical school‚ Wake Forest‚ have attempted to hide Liu’s hiring‚” Shapiro wrote. “Wake Forest didn’t list Liu’s hospital in graduation materials‚ and UPenn doesn’t list Liu’s medical school on its website.” 4/ Both UPenn and Liu’s medical school‚ Wake Forest‚ have attempted to hide Liu’s hiring. Wake Forest didn’t list Liu’s hospital in graduation materials‚ and UPenn doesn’t list Liu’s medical school on its website. pic.twitter.com/NfjbsaAavS — Ben Shapiro (@benshapiro) February 26‚ 2024 The troubling example of identity politics in medicine doesn’t end with Del Rosario and Liu at Wake Forest and UPenn. “This is the norm in medicine‚” Shapiro said. “Meet award-winning Duke surgical resident Vignesh Raman. At an internal DEI lecture‚ Raman says his ‘heart sinks’ when he has patients who watch Fox News or wear MAGA hats. Then he celebrates having a majority ‘non-white’ population to treat.” In the video‚ Raman goes on to discuss how Duke has pushed to stop hiring so many “walls of white men” following the death of George Floyd in 2020. Raman says in the video that Floyd’s death and the events surrounding it “collectively galvanized the consciousness of Duke University and certainly our department to try to do something‚ and recognizing there’s like centuries-long history of racism and slavery in which Duke University essentially was founded [on].” 6/ Raman adds that post-George Floyd‚ Duke made a concerted effort to stop hiring so many “walls of white men.” He says the team is now "abandoning … all sort[s] of metrics" and adopting a "completely holistic" application practice in order to recruit more women and non-white… pic.twitter.com/Jxo93giLoQ — Ben Shapiro (@benshapiro) February 26‚ 2024 Even more concerning‚ Raman goes on to say that he and his team are “abandoning … all sort[s] of metrics” and adopting “completely holistic” application practices so Duke can bring on more women and “non-white” surgeons‚ Shapiro said. “Raman also tweeted that he won’t ‘amplify’ medical literature involving only white men – because it’s not as if white men have ever advanced medicine or anything‚” Shapiro added. “Vignesh Raman is just one example of a much larger trend. The American College of Surgeons‚ or ACS‚ recently gave its 88‚000 members a definition of ‘racism’ that implies it’s impossible to be racist against white people.” 8/ Vignesh Raman is just one example of a much larger trend. Torres to a 2021 conference where she said‚ “[W]hen patients see physicians who look like them‚ they tend to do better.” Torres also said that surgeons are receiving grants and awards based on their minority status. At another 2021 DEI conference‚ this one at UPenn‚ a surgeon said it is “off putting” to see so many white men as surgeons. “The doctors also state that surgery needs something like the NFL’s Rooney Rule‚ which requires that teams interview minority candidates‚” Shapiro wrote. “But the doctors say surgery needs an expanded version that goes further and ensures that minority candidates are selected.” 10/ This is now the prevailing view in surgical medicine. Trump Appeals $454 Million Civil Fraud Judgment

Trump Appeals $454 Million Civil Fraud Judgment

Former President Donald Trump filed notices of appeal on Monday‚ asking New York state’s mid-level appeals court to overturn the judgment in a controversial civil fraud case that totaled a stunning $454 million‚ including interest. Earlier this month‚ Judge Arthur Engoron ordered Trump to pay more than $350 million‚ barred him from doing business in New York for three years‚ and fined his sons‚ Don Trump Jr. and Eric Trump‚ more than $4 million each. The judge agreed with left-wing Attorney General Letitia James‚ who campaigned on a promise to “take on” Trump‚ that the former president made misleading financial statements to banks to secure better terms on loans. Though‚ notably‚ the defense stood by the evaluations and highlighted that all the loans were repaid and there were no victims of the supposed financial fraud. The appeal from Trump’s lawyers suggests that Engoron “committed errors of law and/or fact” and abused his discretion or “acted in excess” of his jurisdiction‚ according to the Associated Press. “We trust that the Appellate Division will overturn this egregious fine and take the necessary steps to restore the public faith in New York’s legal system‚” Trump lawyer Alina Habba said in a statement. Trump has until March 25 to secure a stay‚ or a pause‚ to stop financial collection of the judgment‚ the AP notes. The former president would automatically receive a stay if he were to put up money or assets to cover the judgment. Following the verdict‚ Habba took to Fox News to decry the trial and the judgment. “I think the biggest message I can give the American people tonight is that he’s not going to get away with it‚” she said of Engoron. “Letitia James is not going to get away with it; the Biden administration is not going to get away with it.” “They will not get away with it‚” the attorney continued. “President Trump has done nothing wrong. All he has done is win a campaign‚ and that is scaring them because they know when he goes back in November 2024 he is going to clean house‚ and that is truly the problem. It’s not about Mar-a-Lago’s worth.” Habba also shared some harsh words for James‚ whom she said was in the courtroom “with her shoes off” and sipping Starbucks. “Miss James had her shoes off in court‚” the lawyer said. “She had a Starbucks coffee in her hand‚ she wasn’t doing work‚ she wasn’t sitting at the council table‚ she was in the back with her shoes off and a coffee.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP “At the end of the day‚ we’re sitting there looking at this‚ going‚ ‘This is the state of our country.’ AGs are so comfortable in court that they know that they don’t even have to do the job‚ they don’t have to do the work‚ they’re going to let their people do it‚ they’re going to sit there and they’re going to win‚” she continued. “We will win in the appellate division‚” Habba added. “I have zero concerns about that.” Related: ‘They Will Not Get Away With It’: Trump Attorney Unloads After Stunning New York Fraud Verdict

Harvard Taps Embattled DEI Chief As Latest Addition to Anti-Semitism Task Force

Harvard University’s chief diversity and inclusion officer‚ accused of rampant plagiarism‚ is now advising the university’s task force to combat anti-Semitism‚ rankling Jewish students who view the obsession with diversity as a root cause of anti-Semitism on campus. Sherri Ann Charleston‚ who is Harvard’s first-ever chief diversity officer‚ is now an advisor to the Presidential Task Force on Combating Antisemitism‚ Interim Harvard President Alan M. Garber announced. Charleston was also just last month accused of 40 allegations of plagiarism including in her 2009 dissertation‚ according to the Free Beacon. Harvard Divinity School student‚ Shabbos Kestenbaum‚ who is currently suing the school for enabling anti-Semitism‚ told The Daily Wire that he is disappointed with Charleston’s new duty. “Sherri Charleston is facing more than 40 allegations of severe plagiarism‚ including data manipulation spanning more than a decade‚” he said. “It’s remarkable that rather than disciplining her in a way a student would be disciplined for far less‚ Charleston is awarded a prestigious position on a Harvard task force.” Kestenbaum added that DEI is “part of the insidious ideology that justifies and provides a rationale for anti-Semitism.” “Why would Harvard appoint its highest officer to combat something her office promotes? Would Harvard appoint an oil executive to their climate change study? Would Harvard appoint a racist to their legacies of slavery initiative? Yet once again‚ Jews at Harvard are not given the same level of respect‚” Kestenbaum said.  Harvard has faced mounting criticism for its actions in the wake of Hamas’s October 7 massacre‚ including the resignation of former president Claudine Gay who was chastised over her public statements about combating anti-Semitism on campus. Gay later resigned after multiple allegations of plagiarism. READ MORE: Harvard To Host UN Official Who Was Just Banned From Israel For Justifying Oct 7 Terrorist Attack Kestenbaum said he has emailed the task force more than 30 times‚ but has never received a response.  The task force has frustrated many at the Ivy League institution who don’t believe it will improve conditions for Jewish students. Garber’s announcement about Charleston also disclosed the resignation of Harvard Business School professor Raffaella Sadun‚ who joined the task force after it was created.  “Professor Sadun has expressed her desire to refocus her efforts on her research‚ teaching and administrative responsibilities at HBS‚” Garber wrote in his email. “Her insights and passion for this work have helped shape the mandate for the task force and how it can best productively advance the important work ahead.” READ MORE: Harvard Employee Harasses Jewish Student Suing School For Anti-Semitism‚ Asks To Debate 9/11 Conspiracies A report by the Harvard Crimson said Sadun resigned over concerns the school would treat the task force’s recommendations as advice rather than actions to implement. This echoes the December resignation of Rabbi David J. Wolpe from the anti-Semitism advisory committee — a precursor to the task force — because he didn’t think he made a difference.  Billionaire Bill Ackman seized the opportunity to take a jab at his alma mater. “The half life of a ⁦@Harvard⁩ antisemitism task force member is about 60 days. I wonder what’s going on‚” he said.  The half life of a ⁦@Harvard⁩ antisemitism task force member is about 60 days. I wonder what’s going on. https://t.co/uPaozimCCJ — Bill Ackman (@BillAckman) February 25‚ 2024 “I am grateful to have had the opportunity to help advance the vital work to combat antisemitism and believe that President Garber has assembled an excellent task force‚” Sadun wrote in her own statement‚ reported The Harvard Crimson. “I will continue to support efforts to tackle antisemitism at Harvard in any way I can from my faculty position.” The task force has faced criticism since its inception for including history professor Derek Penslar for criticism of Israel and minimizing Jew-hatred on campus. The top complaint is Penslar signing an August letter denouncing Israel as an “apartheid regime‚” reported the Times of Israel. “American Jews have long been at the forefront of social justice causes‚ from racial equality to abortion rights‚ but have paid insufficient attention to the elephant in the room: Israel’s long-standing occupation that‚ we repeat‚ has yielded a regime of apartheid‚” states the letter. READ MORE: Harvard Kennedy School To Host Radical Palestinian Professor Who Blamed Israel For Hamas Terrorist Attack In a December op-ed‚ Penslar wrote that the focus on rising anti-Semitism at Harvard “has obscured the vulnerability of pro-Palestinian students.” In January‚ he told Jewish Insider that outsiders took Harvard’s anti-Semitism problem and “exaggerated its scope.” The Harvard Crimson reported that Penslar considered stepping down due to the backlash. “Of course anyone would ask themselves if they should continue‚” Penslar‚ a prominent scholar of Jewish history‚ wrote in a statement. “I am grateful for the outpouring of support I have received from my colleagues and students‚ and from President Garber‚ and I remain committed to helping advance the important work of this task force.”

Jeb Bush Sounds Call For Conservative Governance Amid Mounting Challenges

As the United States confronts a series of domestic and international challenges‚ former Florida Governor Jeb Bush has emerged as a vocal advocate for the potential of conservative governance to steer the nation towards stability and prosperity. Bush’s tenure in Florida provided a laboratory for conservative policies‚ showcasing the effectiveness of limited government‚ fiscal responsibility‚ and market-driven solutions. In his approach to governance‚ Bush espoused the principle that government should be proactive yet constrained. This ensures that government action is focused on empowering individuals and communities rather than stifling innovation and growth through excessive regulation. Bush frequently points to his record on education reform in Florida‚ where he implemented measures to increase accountability and choice in the education system‚ as evidence of how conservative policies can yield positive outcomes. Jeb Bush Speaks Out – Warns that the Government’s Weaponization against Donald Trump and Elon Musk Poses a Grave Threat to Business in America via @gatewaypundit https://t.co/zJwm6CADar — The Gateway Pundit (@gatewaypundit) February 26‚ 2024 One of the key tenets of conservative governance‚ as articulated by Bush‚ is the importance of fiscal discipline. He advocates for a government that lives within its means‚ which includes the reduction of public debt and the elimination of wasteful spending. Bush suggests that by applying these principles‚ the government can lay the groundwork for economic expansion and reduce the tax burden on citizens‚ thereby enhancing their freedom and prosperity. Bush also underscores the significance of a strong national defense – a paramount conservative value. He argues that a well-funded and capable military is essential for the protection of American interests both at home and abroad. This priority on security also extends to policies on immigration‚ where Bush has emphasized the need for border security alongside a fair and practical path to legal status for undocumented immigrants. Jeb Bush is warning that the government's weaponization against Donald Trump and Elon Musk poses a grave threat to business and the rule of law in the United States of America. That's how far these politicized prosecutors and activist judges have veered into hazardous territory.… pic.twitter.com/Rz5pmBzJGp — KanekoaTheGreat (@KanekoaTheGreat) February 26‚ 2024 At the heart of conservative belief‚ as contended by the former governor‚ is the supremacy of the individual and their liberties. Bush argues that it is the role of the government to provide the framework within which individual initiative can thrive‚ not to act as the primary driver of societal outcomes. This respect for individual rights is also evident in his stance on Second Amendment issues and religious freedoms. Throughout his advocacy‚ Jeb Bush continues to stress that conservative leadership can bring pragmatic solutions to the table. Rather than being ideologically inflexible‚ he has shown a willingness to engage with diverse perspectives and find common ground‚ embodying a brand of conservatism that is adaptive and responsive to contemporary challenges. Moreover‚ Bush has been a proponent of reinvigorating the Republican party through a tone of inclusivity and optimism. While acknowledging the need for a strong conservative base‚ he also recognizes the importance of reaching out to a broad constituency by focusing on issues that cut across demographic and socio-economic lines‚ a strategy that could be pivotal for the future relevance of the party. Bush’s emphasis on the principles of conservative government comes at a crucial time when the nation grapples with deep political polarization. Amidst this climate‚ Bush’s messages offer a reminder of the core conservative values that have historically underpinned American governance and his vision for their renewed application in addressing the complex issues of the 21st century. Throwback: 11-Year-Old Emmy Russell Makes Grandma Loretta Lynn Proud With Emotional “If I Die Young”

Emmy Russell became an instant American Idol favorite after her tear-jerking audition‚ but her grandma‚ Loretta Lynn‚ recognized her gifts years ago.  Loretta and her husband‚ Doolittle “Mooney” Lynn‚ began a country music dynasty after they married and had six children—who went on to give them 25 grandchildren. Five of their kids grew up and became Music City singers and songwriters‚ and several of their grandkids are forging music careers today.  Instagram Emmy Russell quickly jumped into the limelight when Luke Bryan‚ Katy Perry‚ and Lionel Richie handed her a ticket to Hollywood. But despite her seeming newcomer status‚ fans are just now learning that Emmy has been performing and recording for some time. The 25-year-old has currently two singles—Skinny and Breakup Song—that are available on major music streamers. She’s also co-penned with country songwriters Chris Rafetto and Kenny Foster. But out of everything‚ singing from the famed circle at the Grand Ole Opry is likely her biggest accolade.  View this post on Instagram A post shared by Grand Ole Opry (@opry) Loretta Lynn Loved Watching Emmy Russell Shine Emmy Russell actually took an industry hiatus when she was in her 20s‚ saying she ran from her “family heritage” to “forge” her “own path.” But she fully embraces the music in her bones now‚ and she also embraced it as a child.  Loretta Lynn recognized her grandaughter’s talent long ago and helped her shine by sharing the stage with her. The late country legend invited Emmy on stage several times‚ and a 2012 performance gave country fans a true glimpse of what was to come.  At just 11 years old‚ Emmy Russell serenaded the crowd with an emotional rendition of If I Die Young by The Band Perry. While she seemed a bit timid at the start‚ she quickly found her confidence and captivated not only the audience but also her grandma.  Loretta Lynn stood close by as Emmy strummed her guitar‚ and she beamed with pride and adoration while fans erupted in cheers.  We know that Loretta would still be proud of Emmy today‚ and we’re looking forward to watching her career unfold on American Idol and beyond. Kelly Clarkson Brings Jelly Roll To Tears With Her Powerful Take On “Save Me”

Kelly Clarkson recently performed a rendition of Save Me so powerful that it brought the crowd and the original singer‚ Jelly Roll‚ to tears. As her fans know‚ “Kellyoke” is a staple segment of The Kelly Clarkson Show. The Grammy-winning songstress covers one of her favorite songs during each episode and gives them her own flair. As one would expect‚ she makes the songwriters and singers proud. But when she sang Save Me in early February‚ she earned some of her highest praise yet. Kelly belted the heartbreaking lyrics with a similar emotion to Jelly Roll’s 2020 recording. The audience was moved to silence as Kelly sang with tears welling in her eyes‚ and when she closed the final note‚ everyone erupted with cheers. While Jelly Roll wasn’t there to experience the live performance‚ it wasn’t long before he caught a recording. After listening‚ he humbly shared how much it meant to have someone as legendary as Kelly Clarkson cover his work. I would’ve never believed you if you would’ve told me that I’d write a song so impactful that incredible Kelly Clarkson would deem it worthy to cover . Thank you Kelly- wow – I’m honored in a way I can’t even described – I cried watching it @kellyclarkson— Jelly Roll (@JellyRoll615) February 16‚ 2024 “I would’ve never believed you if you would’ve told me that I’d write a song so impactful that incredible Kelly Clarkson would deem it worthy to cover‚” he wrote on Twitter. “Thank you Kelly—wow—I’m honored in a way I can’t even [describe]—I cried watching it.” Jelly Roll also showed gratitude in the comment section of Kelly Clarkson’s Save Me YouTube video saying‚ “This may be the most honored I’ve ever felt. I love Kelly and her voice and soul and what she stands for so much. I’m honored she covered my song – I cried listening the first time.” For Jelly Roll‚ the honor likely has a deeper meaning. While the 39-year-old has exploded in fame thanks to his songwriting talents and unique twist on country music‚ Save Me was a personal project. The lyrics‚ which he co-wrote with David Ray‚ came from his heart. Jelly Roll turned to music to overcome a troubled past. The song represents who he was during his darkest days. The singer further detailed the meaning of Save Me in 2023‚ just after he re-recorded it as a duet with his close friend‚ Lainey Wilson. “I want to explain something to y’all that I think is important. ‘Save Me’ was special‚ like‚ to me‚” he said in 2023‚ per American Songwriter. “But I don’t fully grasp as an artist that sometimes songs mean so much to us. To some degree‚ we don’t really care what it does outside of that. It’s more about the actual art. This is my story. This is my most vulnerable‚ broken moment ever.” You can find the source of this story’s featured image here. What Does Christian Marriage Require of Us Beyond Love?

Love is foundational. It’s like flour to a cake. Your marriage rises and falls depending on how much love is present. However‚ just as a cake needs other essential ingredients to be palatable and sustainable‚ so does marriage.
