The folded ears are caused by a genetic mutation. This mutation affects the bone and cartilage around the body‚ including the cartilage forming the ear pinna (the outer ear that’s visible in cats). This causes the characteristic crumpling and folding of the outer ears‚ resulting in the rounded look people seem to adore. The gene in question is known as the Transient Receptor Potential Vanilloid family member 4 gene (TRPV4)‚ which causes the folded ears and a whole host of other health problems‚ too. Do Cats With Folded Ears Have Health Problems? Unfortunately‚ all cats with folded ears will suffer from a disease known as osteochondrodysplasia (also commonly known as Scottish Fold Disease) to varying degrees. Osteochondrodysplasia is a condition caused by a change in the TRPV4 gene‚ which causes the malformation and degradation of the cartilage throughout the body. This results in arthritis‚ pain‚ and a diminished quality of life for severely affected felines. It’s sad that all cats‚ no matter the breed or pedigree‚ will suffer from this debilitating condition if they have folded ears. Western leaders don’t seem to want the war in Ukraine to end — and in fact‚ might want to turn it into World War III. After reading an article from the New York Times‚ Glenn Beck believes it's increasingly becoming clear that’s the intention. The article describes a “secret passageway” in Ukraine “that descends to a subterranean bunker.” In the bunker‚ “teams of Ukrainian soldiers track Russian spy satellites and EES drops on communications and conversations between Russian commanders.” The article continues to describe a screen where Ukrainian soldiers are tracking the route of “an explosive drone” that they’re threading through the Russian air defenses from a point in central Ukraine to target in the Russian city of Rostov. “I don’t think this is a secret when it’s in the New York Times‚” Glenn comments‚ noting that if it was meant to be kept a secret‚ the New York Times shouldn’t be reporting on an operation just a few yards away from a military base in such detail. “It seems like a bad move if you want Ukraine to be victorious in a war‚ you wouldn’t necessarily want to tip your hand to the Russians‚” Stu Burguiere agrees. The article then goes on to describe an underground bunker that’s the “secret nerve center of the Ukrainian military‚” which is “almost fully financed and partially equipped by the CIA” — before writing that the CIA has been using Ukraine as an “intelligence partner” for the past 10 years. “Why would the New York Times print this?” Glenn asks again‚ shocked that the paper is giving up so much information. The armorer for the movie "Rust" was revealed to have stated in an interview that the dummy rounds she had on-set were from a previous film she worked on‚ noting that she checks all of the dummy rounds "most of the time."Armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed is on trial for involuntary manslaughter stemming from the death of Halyna Hutchins‚ a cinematographer who was killed after Alec Baldwin fired a gun on the set of "Rust" that was supposed to have dummy rounds in it but instead had a live round.Gutierrez-Reed‚ who was 24 at the time‚ has been accused by the prosecution of bringing a box of dummies that had multiple live rounds in it. She loaded the gun Baldwin used.Jurors were shown a police interview with Gutierrez-Reed from November 2021 during which she said she used dummies on "Rust" that were actually left over from a previous movie‚ "The Old Way‚" a Western action film with Nicolas Cage. Gutierrez-Reed had worked on the film a few weeks earlier."I went back through a bag that I had‚" the armorer said in the interview‚ Variety reported. "This bag had a bunch of loose dummies in it. I went through and I checked all of them‚ and I put them into two boxes. … They were in my car for like two weeks‚" she added.Later in the interview‚ Gutierrez-Reed said that she typically shakes each dummy round to see if it rattles‚ which is reportedly a safety feature that lets users know the rounds can't be fired."I am shaking all of them most of the time‚" Gutierrez Reed‚ using words that were highlighted by the prosecution. "Most of the time‚" prosecutor Kari Morrissey emphasized to the jury.Gutierrez-Reed faces more than 18 months in prison if convicted. Laken Riley was a 22-year-old nursing student at the University of Georgia — but now she is a victim of a heinous crime. Riley was going for a run on campus this past Thursday when a Venezuelan illegal immigrant allegedly kidnapped and killed her.
