Well, that probably shouldn’t have made it to the stage… Of course, Beyoncé is currently on the road for her Cowboy Carter tour, which kicked off in May in Los Angeles, in support of her latest “country-inspired” album. It’s already had a few notable moments, and recently, Beyoncé had a malfunction while singing “16 CARRIAGES” in a red Cadillac convertible that was flown around the stadium, as she’s done during all of her shows on the tour… she had to stop in the middle of the song because it started tilting and she was obviously afraid she was going to fall out. Another viral post faking people out. We see it all the time these days, especially when so many of these “news” stories sound like they could be real. Just recently a story went viral claiming that George Strait had donated $3.5 million to the victims of the recent floods in Texas – which sounds like it could be a true story, except it’s not. In this day and age you have to have a critical eye towards basically anything you see on the internet. It’s so easy for a fake story to go viral, and before you know it the claims have made their way around the internet with nobody even bothering to fact check it before sharing. That’s what happened with this claim about Oliver Anthony, though it appears the fake headline has actually been around for a while. A “news” story on social media, which was originally posted by some shady site that seems to exclusively share fake news, claims that the “Rich Men North of Richmond” singer is currently topping the charts with a new single called “I Don’t Care About Your Pronouns.” And to really drive the point home, they paired it with a photo of Taylor Swift crying for…some reason. The post has been shared over 300 times already, and has racked up hundreds of comments. And it’s completely fake. Not only is the song not topping the charts, but it doesn’t even exist. Just a total fake clickbait story made by some shady page for engagement. But it’s not the first time the claim has been made. As far back as 2023, claims were going around about this particular Oliver Anthony song (again, that doesn’t exist). And it’s easy to see why the rumor got started: Oliver Anthony became somewhat of a conservative darling with his first single “Rich Men North of Richmond,” so sites began to take advantage of the attention and controversy surrounding his first hit by claiming that he had released another, even more “controversial” right-leaning song. Of course Oliver Anthony does have a new single out, though it has nothing to do with pronouns. He recently released a new song titled, “Scornful Woman,” marking the singer’s first taste of new music in 2025. And on a recent episode of “Protect Our Parks,” a Joe Rogan Experience podcast series where Rogan sits down with good friends Shane Gillis, Ari Shaffir and Mark Normand, the podcast host gave some background on the song. Rogan shared that Anthony called him for advice following the release of his viral megahit, “Rich Men North Of Richmond.” “Oliver Anthony has no money, right? He’s poor; he’s selling farm equipment. He puts this song on YouTube, he’s a f****** superstar, he doesn’t know what to do, he freaks out. He asks me for advice. I call him on the phone and we have a conversation for like a f***** hour. I go, ‘Don’t sign anything with anybody.’ And he goes, ‘They are telling me I’ve got to strike while the iron’s hot.’ And I go, ‘Bulls***. They are trying to steal money from you.’ I go, ‘You’re independent. You’re already there, you’ve already made it. I know if you wrote that song, you can write a dozen of those f***** songs. You don’t need anybody.’  He goes, ‘They are offering me seven million dollars.’ I go, ‘No, they are offering to steal money from you for the rest of your life.’ That’s what they are doing. I go, ‘You don’t need them, you have talent.’”  And then Joe shares some rather intimate details about Anthony’s seemingly pending divorce, and how it sparked this song. The “Scornful Woman” is Oliver’s wife, Tiffany, and from the side of the story we’re given, it sounds like she’s trying to take as much money as she can off him. “He starts making millions of dollars, playing arenas. The wife divorces him. She wants everything. She wants EVERYTHING. She wants more than half. She wants all the money he’s going to be making in the future because she was with him when he was broke. It’s f***** crazy. He’s just tortured. He wants to die.
