“Spinal Tap: The End Continues” Is In Theaters
The mockumentary comedy, the follow-up to the 1984 classic “This Is Spinal Tap”, is in theaters.
Directed by Rob Reiner, the sequel features Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer reprising their roles as members of Spinal Tap, a fictional Heavy Metal Band.
Paul McCartney, Elton John and Garth Brooks make cameo appearances as themselves. Fran Drescher reprises her role as Bobbi Flekman, with Paul Shaffer returning as the inept promo man Artie Fufkin.
Like the original film, the production was only loosely scripted so as to be largely improvised by the actors. Scenes were filmed with a dual digital camera setup, allowing scenes to be captured spontaneously.
Set around forty years after the first film, director Martin Di Bergi (Reiner) creates another video documentary of a Spinal Tap reunion and final show.
